Wide grassy pastures surround the Headquarters as far as you can see, the lake and the forest being just at the blurry edges of your vision as you look out. The sky seems to meet the ground, the outside world otherwise being lost to your seclusion. A great wooden fence creates a boundary off to the left--but although the hanging sign reads KIWI, it is an ambling baby dragon within, tumbling and every now and then releasing a quick stream of fire. |

Pierce didn't mind so much walking around with Sam outside, with the food still carried in his hand per the fact that she hadn't tried everything as of yet. It was a little chilly, yes, but it wasn't too too bad for October. Or... well, it wasn't too too bad when he was wearing actual clothes. He wasn't too sure how it'd feel for Sam. Still, it was a crisp, clear night and the stars were in all their bright glory, all their bright... What the hell was that? He could have sworn he saw fire come out of something... it was a huge dark lump in the field over there. |

As they stepped out into the cool night air, Sam was definitely chilly, but it was beautiful out there, so she was willing to ignore it. They could always go back inside later. Her head turned in the direction of the sudden burst of flames, though, startled by their sudden appearance. "They couldn't have...gotten fireworks or anything, right?" she asked. No, that didn't make sense. "Or...hm. What is that?" Without really waiting for an answer and his guess, she stepped forward, curious as to what it could b.e When she got closer, close enough to make out what it was, she stopped short, eyes widening in awe. "Pierce!" Her voice dropped to a whisper. "Look! It's a dragon!" Sure enough, it was a dragon, standing beyond a wooden fence. There were dragons on the reservation, but she didn't often get to work with them or see them, so this was a rare treat indeed. |

Pierce was trying to figure out what exactly that lump was - and if he needed to start like...running - when Sam had caught onto it as well, wondering if it was fireworks or what. Of course, it was more of a rhetorical 'thinking outloud moment', for she was stepping forward and he was avoiding his natural urge to pull her back, carefully following her until she had figured it out. Immediately her voice dropped, and Pierce nearly dropped the food in his urge to headpalm. There they were outside, with the stars showing, and everything being quiet, and it being chilly meaning...he had the opportunity to warm his gorgeous, lingerie wearing girlfriend up and instead? Instead he totally just got cockblocked by a freaken dragon. "Why is there a dragon?" He asked, rubbing his face for a second as he looked at it. It looked awfully familiar...maybe like the one they'd seen just a year or so ago when they had to get blood from one for the virus. |

Sam was so busy watching the dragon that she almost didn't even hear Pierce's question. "I don't know," she replied, waving it off. "Why wouldn't there be one?" Well, instantly a great number of reasons why there wouldn't be one there flooded her mind, but she didn't want to think about those. "I mean, other than the extreme danger, all of the laws and permits it would require which I know for a fact no one in this area have, and a good number of other reasons but... still..." She breathed out a small sigh. "It's gorgeous." They stayed watching the dragon for a little, until the creature finally got bored enough with being there that it stalked off amongst some nearby trees, and Sam figured she should just count herself as lucky enough to have even seen it in the first place. She was also probably going to have to contact someone at her work about a dragon. But she could do that in the morning. For now, it was getting cold, and she was alone with her boyfriend with no children around for the evening, and that was rare. Besides, it wasn't like Pierce's hints were at all subtle of how he wanted to spend the evening, and she was very on board with that. As it turned out, by the time they got back inside, she was feeling very warmed up, and seeing as many were just turning the party into a staying-over-in-one-of-the-many-empty-bedrooms thing, she was definitely on board with that too. |

Gemma had to restrain herself from skipping gleefully when she started to walk in the grounds. She visited the common room for a while but being the pansy that she is, she left without socializing. She was always shy around groups of people and she thought that little problem would go away as she grew older but it didn't. Oh well, she thought, she would just go outside and explore. Wherever she was, it was HUGE! She walked near the wooden fence and she saw the wooden fence but she could see what was over it, she saw a stream of fire and slapped her mouth with her hand to suppress her screaming. "Was that a dragon?" she asked to herself quietly and started to jump to get a better look. |
