The CS The Basics Note: *These are *facts*; not much elaboration is technically needed unless you happen to know it. Character's Full Name: Carmen-Taylor Garza. Nickname: N/A Date of Birth/Age: July 17th 1983 Birthplace: Barcelona, Spain. Current Home: She has a apartment in Madrid, Spain at the moment, but she moves often so that's subject to change. Wand Type: 12 1/2 oak, unicorn hair core. The Family Note: *These are *facts*; not much elaboration is technically needed unless you happen to know it. Blood Status: Half-blood. Mother: Maricelle Garza Father: Anthony *Tony* Garza Siblings: She has six brothers; Only one of them is older than she his and he's thirty. The rest are all a couple years apart, the youngest being fifteen. Relevant Extended Family: (include how your character is related to these people) N/A Take a Look in the Mirror Appearance: *Note that in all, Appearance should be about 100-300 words. Eyes[color/shape]: Carmen has hazel colored eyes. Hers being almond shaped like her mother's though. Face Shape: She has a short oval shaped face and a squared off jaw. Like most in her family she has high-cheekbones but she's not into showing it off like she's told she should. Hair[color/style/shape]: Carmen has shoulder length brown hair though it's dark enough to claim as black. She'll deny it though. It's usually straight but the ends have a natural curl to them that she straightens. When it's overly hot outside she throws it up in a messy pony-tail with some bangs down, and especially when she has a dance class she puts it up too. Around the house or going out with friends she leaves it down. Personal Style: For dance she wears sweatpants or cut off shorts and a loose tank-top with her favorite ballet slippers. On a day to day basis though she likes comfort over fashion and she picks whatever she finds comfortable for that day. She likes quirky pieces and is a fan of her risque dresses. She has a assortment of heels, boots, and sneakers so she has the right thing for whatever outfit she picks. Carmen likes her neutral tones, nothing too bright, and the most makeup she throws on is some eyeliner. Skin Color: Carmen's skin is tanned, but not excessively so. It's natural but she is out and about a lot so that only adds to her color. Other(unusual/distinguishing features such as marks, tattoos, wounds, scars, etc): She has a tattoo on her back between her shoulder blades of angel wings that goes down to the middle of her back. On her left hand, index finger above her knuckle, she has a thin black cross, and she also has her nose pierced. Personality *Note that in all, your personality should have at least 500 words -- basic traits + questionaire. Basic Traits: One strong trait is Carmen's confidence. She's learned to have a tough skin when it comes to dance auditions and she doesn't let what people think of her get her down. She believes people should be themselves regardless of anything so she's learned to have a tough skin and to believe in herself. It can come off as arrogant maybe, but she's just willing to to be herself no matter the consequence. She has friends all over the place with her willingness to just be herself and talk to whomever, but she doesn't have anyone that has gotten too close. Another good trait is her loyalty. Though she has a slew of different friends from all over, she'd stick up for them in a heartbeat. She doesn't let people talk about the people she cares about without her having an input and defending them. For her career she sticks by what she's doing and doesn't let the team down. She hates to have people disappointed in her and she likes to help out others. When she's on a dance team she helps the other ones that don't understand a move or the routine itself, and they know they can ask when it comes to those sort of things. Another positive trait is her honesty. She tells things how it is and though she'd keep a secret for a friend, if it was bad enough she'd let someone know. She doesn't like keeping secrets from people and though she's learned to lie to keep herself safe, she doesn't like the idea of it. If someone asks her how something looks she'll tell you what she thinks outright and without a second though. She's a very blunt person but she believes honesty is the only way to go. In her dance work it comes in handy when it comes down to either the outfits or helping someone else out because she'll tell them exactly what she thinks. A negative trait would be her spontaneity. It could be considered a strong trait too but it gets her into trouble half the time. Carmen likes to leap into things before she thinks, and she's a big risk taker. She doesn't like to play on the safe side and in dance she'll do a move she isn't even sure she can do just to try it. She likes to prove herself by being the first one to join on something or speak up about something no one has. Questionaire: 1. How does your character act when meeting a new person? Carmen's outgoing and a little over the top but she also knows when to quiet down and let the other person talk. She tends to talk a little too fast and tends to switch from speaking English to speaking Spanish without even realizing it which can confuse some people. She's very blunt right off the bat about letting someone know if she cares to talk to them or not as she doesn't see the point in her wasting her time. 2. How does your character act in their day-to-day life? She tries to stick to a routine up till it gets thrown out of whack because of something she did. She gets up at eight, makes breakfast and gets ready for the day with music of some sort on, and then she's out the door in about a hour or so. On Sundays she goes to her local church and on Tuesday's she volunteers there with her mom. Otherwise she hangs out at the beach for most of her day or browsing the stores (though that's a dangerous temptation for her). On the weekends she goes out to the clubs, bouncing from one to the other till the early hours of the morning. Wednesday's and Thursday's are her dance class days where she takes hip-hop and ballet. 3. How does your character act when they're just hanging around their house?(Think about hobbies, and the house here; do they have pets? etc) Typically she reads the newspaper and listens to music. She has a bulldog named Henry that she tries to spend time with during the day which is easy on the less hectic days; it accounts for one reason why her place is such a mess with his toys laying around amongst all of her stuff. When she has friends over she has a bunch of board games they play. 4. What responsibilities do they have? She's responsible for herself and Henry of course, but also keeping her place clean and making sure she leaves no trace when it comes to something she's done. She has a monthly rent she's responsible for paying as well. 5. How does your character currently feel about romance? (One night stands only? Marriage and lots of babies?) Carmen is on the fence about it all. She thinks love can exist but she doesn't think it will for her. She'd hope to be married one day but she doesn't like the idea of being tied down and having a large family makes her want to have her own. She's not rushing anything though. 6. What kind of quirks or mannerisms does your character have? Carmen tends to babble on sometimes when she gets excited and she talks with her hands. She's got a tendency to slip between English and Spanish when she talks too without noticing it till someone points it out to her. History: * Note that in all, you should have at least 500 words of a response for your history, preferably more. Early Childhood: Where were they born/how did they grow up? What were their parents like? How did they discover their magic? Carmen-Taylor Garza was born to rather wealthy parents at the time. Her mother grew up in Spain whereas Anthony had been born and raised in London. Now as a family in Spain it was where Carmen grew up. As a baby she had some medical issues that left her in the hospital for a couple months on end, but by the time she was two those all were resolved and she didn't have any lasting effects. Her mom is a volunteer at the church three times a week and even as a kid Carmen went with her either to help or because Tony was working and they had no babysitter. Their oldest son was with them too and he was the one keeping an eye on Carmen usually. She first showed signs of magical ability when she was six and was told she couldn't outside to play and she got so upset that the door ended up opening for her. From that day the parents made sure to keep a closer eye on their daughter though they were proud to see she possessed magical abilities. Ending up with so many brother's she was always outdoors playing quidditch with them or rough-housing in the living room. One thing that was all her own was dancing. She's always loved the way music tells a story and she took ballet classes as a kid. After that she took hip-hop and found her niche. Hogwarts/Wizarding Schooling Years: What house were they in? What were their favorite classes? Their least favorite? What did they do with friends on weekends/free-time? How did they spend their summers? Who were they closest with? Who was their first kiss/first time [if they've had them]? Were they more likely to follow the rules or bend them? Did something monumental happen during these years that changed them forever--and if so, what and how? Carmen went to Hogwarts against her own wishes since she wanted to stay in Spain. She's never liked the cold, rainy, ways of England but she put up with it. In school she enjoyed learning about the history of different wizards and the most important events, but she also enjoyed potions. Nothing could hold her interest for long before she got bored though. She was always outside or getting into trouble by sneaking out. It was any wonder why she got put into Slytherin, though she didn't favor a lot of those in her own house. She had a few passing friends but she never stuck with the same group for long. Her favorite hang out spot in the school itself was sitting on the main entrance stairs so she could talk to the people going by. Knowing she'd need to get the grades for a career she worked hard for studying and making sure she got things in on time, but she wasn't ever sure what she wanted to do with her life just yet. She had at one point wanted to try and go to New York to be a dancer, but her parents were disappointed so she put that one aside. Entering Adulthood: What do they do for a career/how do they make money? Where do they live, and who with? Do they travel; who with? Who are some of their friends and what do they do for free-time? What goals/dreams do they wish to accomplish? Straight out of school not much changed for Carmen. She still lived at home and was still trying to figure out what to do with her life. She still attended her dance classes and had her typical routine, but it wasn't till she was twenty-two that she actually moved out after her father put a down-payment on a apartment for her. Getting out of school was when her first troubles started though. It started with a simple stolen pair of sunglasses and then she moved onto bigger things, but she has been caught several times and has a rap sheet to prove it. She's had to be on the move a couple times and is known for using fake names to be safe occasionally. The money she does have to pay for everything is usually obtained in a less than typical way. To Carmen it doesn't matter as long as her and Henry are fed, the apartment is paid for, and there's money for going out. Though she doesn't have a steady job she still wants to be a dancer but for the time being she's content with how her life is. With all her moving around she's ended up all over; Ireland, Australia, France, Italy, the States, Switzerland, and her latest favorite place Austria. Extra: How many languages do they speak? Can they cook[and what's their favorite foods?]? Do they have any strange customs or traditions? Please add anything else you wish to/that you know about your character here that do not fit in above categories. Carmen speaks Spanish fluently as she grew up with that being the main language. She was taught English before she went to Hogwarts though so she can speak both as easy as the other. She's a fan of spicy foods as she doesn't like anything plain, but she isn't that great of a cook. Primary Character: Ella Cox |
