I love Keels <3

The castle was particularly quiet today. Or, maybe it was tonight? Calvin walked up the stairs to the tower in that dusky space between day and night, when no one would bet exactly what hour it happened to be. He was waiting for Keeley - he'd left a note for her, asking her to meet him up here. Hopefully they wouldn't run into any professors - these days, however, Calvin had become a bit more experienced at sneaking around and maybe, maybe even breaking a few rules. She wasn't there yet when he reached the top - well, of course she wasn't, he'd come ten minutes before he expected her. He wanted to take her to the Glen. Spring was finally coming to Hogwarts, and he could just imagine the place coming to life again after a long winter. Keeping his surprise tucked into his sweater pocket, he sat down on a ledge at the top of the stairs to wait for Keels, hoping maybe she'd be early. The sooner he saw her adorable, smiling face, the happier he would be. Wasn't that the way it always worked? |

Keels had gotten Cal's letter while trying to learn how to roll all the way around, instead of roll down and then swing herself up, and to guide her broom with her knees instead of her hands. She'd attempted it a few times and went flying, and the games were starting to get important. It was always a learning experience, honestly, with flying. She wasn't scared to do whatever and it'd broken her a few bones now and again. There was just this rush that she got from flying though. Once practice was over, she took a speedy shower, and then just hopped back on her broom. The Astronomy Tower was open for her to just fly right in, instead of running up all those stairs. So fly right in she did. Seeing Cal sitting on the stairs waiting for her, Keels grinned and set aside her broom, covering his eyes with her hands a second later. "Guess who?" She asked, in a serious voice. |

Cal knew in less than a millisecond whose hands were over his eyes - he would know her fingers anywhere. Instead of answering, however, he reached his own hands up and pulled her fingers down to kiss them. "Hello, beautiful," he said, then pulling her hands down and standing, then swinging her around to hug her. "How was flying practice, then?" That was where she spent a lot of her free time. He liked to watch her, but lately she'd been trying crazy things and it made him too nervous. The thought of her tumbling down from the air by the tower window made his stomach turn over. He would wait a bit before showing her his surprise - but he knew she would love it, beyond belief. |

Keels shook her head slightly when instead of guessing, he just pulled her fingers down and kissed them, and then a second later she was being swung around to a hug. She returned in, grinning that he clearly knew where she was. Ruefully, she looked down at her arms and then patted her tummy. "I almost did it. Almost. But I need like, more ab strength. Or better swing with my arms. Or something. I don't know. But I almost did it!" Being on the Quidditch team - especially one so active - did a lot to tone away the baby fat. And yet, it still wasn't good enough. Or maybe, she just wasn't getting the technique down. Whatever it was, she was determined. "And how are youuu?" She asked, knowing that Quidditch wasn't exactly his favourite thing in the world to talk about, since he didn't really seem to like the tricks she always attempted. |

Cal grinned to hide the nerves he always had when she talked about flying. "You'll get it soon, Miss Keeley. I know you will." That was something he did know for sure - nothing stopped his girl from doing anything she set her mind to. There would be no stopping her. And he'd just continue to be there for her. He shook his head at her and poked her stomach before pulling her into his arms. "Don't worry about anything. Just smile and guess what I've got for you. Well, for both of us really. It's far away and you're going to love it." At least he hoped she'd love it. The present, out of the blue and for no reason other than because he loved her, had seemed so perfect at the time. But now that he'd arranged it, and taken care of everything, he was afraid that maybe, just maybe, she wouldn't want to... |

"Of course I will." Keels nodded. "If the Slytherins aren't on the field tomorrow morning I might get up early and go try it myself until I get it right so I can stop taking up practice time for the same thing." When he poked her stomach, her eyebrow went up, amused, but she smiled when he told her to. "What did you do now, Calvin Carr?" Her eyes narrowed, mock suspicious. He was always doing things like that, sweet little - and completely random - gestures. Whatever was 'far away' made no sense to her, but she liked the subject matter anyways. "Oh come on, you have to guess! I'll give you a hint, it involves flying - but not with a broomstick. And it involves water, and fairies, and magic, and mermaids, and a boy who never, ever grows up. And of course New York City..." He stopped and grinned. She'd get it now, no problem. But would she want to go? He tried not to let the anxiety show in his face. No matter what he did, she always loved it - but he was still always afraid that she wouldn't want something, or would only pretend she liked it. "Any guesses, Keels?" Now he couldn't help but really smiling. He was so excited to take her to see the show, he'd been planning for a while now. |

"I have to guess." Keels repeated, tucking her hair behind her ear as she listened to his hints. Immediately - as soon as he said fairies and magic - she knew what storyline he was talking about, but the idea of New York City (somewhere they'd been talking about for a while) confused her momentarily. "Something to do with Peter Pan?" She finally answered, looking up at him inquisitively. So a moment, she wracked her brain. What did New York have to do with the story of Peter Pan...? Then it got her. When he'd told her about New York City, he'd talked about Broadway Shows. And one called Annie, she thought. Immediately she grinned. "They're reenacting the story? When?" |

"Next week," he said, and he kissed her nose. She looked so adorable, puzzling it out - he could read the confusion mixed with the understanding in her eyes, and when she finally got it, he knew she liked it. "They're putting the musical on a theater near Broadway," he said. "They'll be acting it out - it's next week. I got us tickets. I haven't exactly asked Lynx and Tyler yet, but I hope they won't mind if I take you - I mean, we're not little kids anymore. I had Kat talk to the professors, it's ok to take you out so long as Lynx and Tyler are alright with it." He spoke all in one breath and then looked at her anxiously. "So...will you help me ask them? Do you want to go?" |

"Next week??" Keels' eyes widened suddenly at the closeness of the treat he'd found for them, excitement making her bounce a little on her heels. "I don't have anything to wear! What do you wear to muggle theatres? Is it like the...movie theatre? Or is it like a concert type thing? Or what?" The questions were honestly just her brain going in a million different directions, but she shrugged when Cal said he hadn't asked Lynx and Tyler. "I'll ask Lily. He's here. I'm sure Lynxie and Tyler are busy." Besides, Llian was always game for traveling, though she supposed he was probably going to say an adult needed to go blah blah blah. Adults, sometimes. "Of course I want to go!" |
