An Enlightening Journey
It has become something of a habit here in London, Writes Gloria Smith, Daily Prophet Investigative Reporter for multiple people to simply vanish from their beds, homes, and offices to be whisked off for a weekend of murder, mayhem, and torture. Certainly, the Wizarding World lives in a constant state of terror; many citizens in fact, completely refuse to open their mail.

This past week, however, it seems something of a different nature occurred that has left many in the Wizarding World unsure of what precisely had just occurred.

It is no surprise that the public has been screaming for the recent resignation of Minister Marcus Severio, and the subsequent election to replace him (featuring candidates the esteemed Ralston Marrid, and Chief of Wizengamot Caleb Silverhawk). Furthermore, the Auror offices has been recently overhauling members. It is long past due, most feel, for Head Auror Lynx Rubin to fire half of it's staff, and enroll in training the staff we do have. It truly bewilders this reporter that so many have transferred in; England appears, thus, unable to take care of it's own domain that we must rely on transfers from France and Ireland?

These changes and overhauls, however as this exclusive may reveal, are simply not what they appear to be. Attendance to an alternate reality was granted to a group of fifty people from across the spectrum -- from purebloods such as Acolyte Sadie Eppes of Mungos or Kylar Vane, to muggleborns, from citizens of the general public, to ministry workers such as Jackson Hanemeyer, and indeed Aurors themselves such as Auror Pierce O'Brian and Auror Emma D'Abugine. Most of this group have barricaded themselves in from comments, but this reporter was not deterred by either shut doors, nor screams of unparalleled fury as was the case when approaching Auror Lina Bradbury.

"Those who believe what they saw was the eventual and inevitable fault of the Ministry are fools."

It was screamed as the door was slammed and certainly, one must wonder what scared her so into hiding from further comment. After all, insulting the general public for it's want of an explanation only points to a cover-up or a need for the public to remain in the dark.

This alternate reality was one precisely like our own, only everyone of the lucky attendees was forced to accept multiple handicaps upon arrival. These handicaps supressed intelligence, beauty, passion, and individual talents or skills. It stole peoples magic, forcing them to make due with average and normal wit and spell work. This would become particularly troublesome for the Healers among the groups number as they would later be unable to remember how best to help those injured among the group.

Total and complete equality, as preached by today's government, today's Aurors, and today's candidates to take over for the top job, would mean the lack of every person's individual strengths. The rules here were strictly imposed. When the group was attacked by the famed Whomping Willow, and Guide Anastasia Zytsev saved several peoples lives by transforming into her Animagus form of a cat, she was ordered punished for her use of the skill. The punishment was the spell Torpedo Percuitio, as ordered by the Lynx Rubin of that world.

Many among their number proposed the uncanny resemblance of the Lynx Rubin of this world. Not in face but in deed: Head Auror Rubin is well known for her love of the rules and her lack of sympathy should one be broken.

The Government in this world, you see, pressed for the same thing our own does: Equality.

It was only through the help of their individual talents, eventually granted back to them, that the group was able to be brought back home, though not without casualties. This world seemed determined to claim victims for failure, including Lone Bermen, and the Auror Julie Verne, who this report reveals, was killed by none other than her cousin, the Auror who refused further comment.

As they learned of their return and purpose, one member of the group Olympia Dunbarton would attack a fellow member: the Guide Anastasia Zytsev, who was only alive at that moment due to a defribulator gifted to the group for having tortured her and followed the rules. Olympia attacked her it seems, for a peculiar stack of Tarot Cards, the exact purpose and origin of which currently remains unknown, though it is known that these cards were used to give the group members tasks with which they would never have survived were they all truly "equal". It seems that only through the mercy and grace of one so feared-- You-Know-Who--were they able to return and have survived their bout with terrible and total equality at all.

The Minister, as well as Chief of Wizengamot and Head Auror Rubin, all decline comment.
