About the character

Appearance: Troy is a fairly tall man, standing at an even 6’3”. He’s not too muscular, but rather has a natural tone that is easy for him to maintain without having to work out too often. He has straight, short, dark brown hair with matching, slightly bushy, eyebrows as well as very dark, almost black looking, eyes. He maintains a five a’ clock shadow out of personal preference and has a thin upper lip, with the bottom one protruding more; both a natural rosy color. His usual wardrobe usually consists of jeans and t-shirts, at work; however, he wears the proper robes required.

Strengths: Given his chosen profession, Troy is a natural and excellent secret keeper. He doesn’t use secrets to his advantage or anything of the sort, but rather just keeps them with him forever. Although, really, by the time more than one or two people know, he could hardly call it a secret. And he’s reliable when it comes to keeping said secret. I wouldn’t exactly call him a person you could trust, but he’s great for getting that huge load off your chest eating you up. He’s also pretty decent at problem-solving, both games and in real life. He thrives on given a situation and having to find your way through, knowing that there are many choices that can be made, and all ending in different outcomes.

Weaknesses: Troy isn’t the most tactful person in the world and unfortunately that leaves in more conflicting situations that is really healthy. He doesn’t know how to handle conflict of any manner in the correct way and ends up making things worse for himself. Although he doesn’t tend to get physical, he does get aggravated and therefore even more tactless. Another of his weaknesses is his difficult nature, entirely uncooperative. It takes a great amount of convincing in order to make him help out, since he rarely does anything for anyone else if it isn’t for work and if it doesn’t benefit him in some way.

Personality: (1 paragraph+) Troy is an acquired taste when it comes to personality. He tends to be highly insensitive with no kind of filter whatsoever; he says the first thing that comes to his mind. This makes his seem like somewhat of a jerk, although that is recent because he used to be very nice and kind during his Hogwarts days.

He tries to be flirty, but in most cases comes off as being overbearing and wordy. He doesn’t see it that way because he thinks he’s perfect. He’s confident, most of the time, but tends to lean more towards the pessimistic side when it comes down to life. To his work, however, he always hopes for the best and expects the best.

Troy is rather care-free about money, seeing as how he’s never had a problem with that. He didn’t grow up without it, and he isn’t without it right at that moment. He believes he had more important things to worry about then whether or not his vault in Gringotts is full of galleons or knuts. Instead, Troy’s great fear and worry is actually being alone. In that...I guess the correct word would be desperation, he tries to make friends and relationships but doesn’t really know quite how, so he ends up with only a small number of people that put up with him. He tends to mean well, though.

Hobbies: Troy, being taught by Tina, likes to play cards game and likes to work at every puzzle he can find whether it be jigsaws, Sudoku, etc. His favorite one right now is the hexagonal rubix cube. Another of his hobbies is just basically hanging out at clubs and bars and having fun.

Pet: A tawny owl named Carl
Wand: 9”, Yew wood, Unicorn hair core
School: Hogwarts
House: Gryffindor
Short History of The Character: (minimum 2 paragraphs)

Troy was born to a family of Irish decent in St. Mungo’s hospital to Ester and Orion Mulligan. Ester was a singer and guitar player; just grabbing gigs whenever she could. She didn’t have to work, because Orion had enough money from both his income as an architect and from inheritance from a distant relative that left Orion most of his assets; but she wanted to regardless. Even with a mother who preferred to be on the road and travelling, and a father who worked more than was necessary, Troy didn’t have a horrible childhood. He always received what he asked for, and never lacked anything central in his life. His parents always made up their absences as best as they could; they really did care for him after all because he was and is their only child.

As a slightly older kid, he was teased a lot by his cousins who he spent a fair deal of time with seeing as how his aunt spent a great deal of time babysitting him. The source of all the teasing came from Troy preferring puzzles over cops and robbers or rugby. He still played with them when they asked him to, knowing that he should be spending normal time with kids his age, but he didn’t usually enjoy it. He’d say something very bluntly and tactlessly, and immediately is shunned. Sometimes he even wished the kids who would reprimand him would become mute or have their tongue tied, and was surprised when sometimes, it did happen.

When his letter for Hogwarts came, accompanied by an explaining McGonogall, his parents were a little less than thrilled but Troy thought that it was why he couldn’t socialize with others of his age. Knowing that he was different was actually a relief, and he embraced the opportunity to go to Hogwarts.

On the train ride there, he met Tina and she was kind and nice to him, approaching him with the first sentence of, ‘Hi, you look lonely. Do you want to be my friend?’With her help, he was able to make friends with others quite easily in Hogwarts and he considered her his best friend. Tina and Troy dated for two years at Hogwarts, their last two, and it ended pretty badly. Just a ton of misunderstanding and a gradual growing apart that Troy couldn’t accept and still really, can’t accept which is why he constantly talks to her in hope she’ll change her mind.

After Hogwarts, he knew what he wanted to do; work in the Department of Mysteries. He was intrigued by the challenge and the unknown and to this day he doesn’t regret it. Taking the job, however, was almost a reversal process; he went back to his usual awkwardness but he still believes his attention are the best, but now he’s confused about how his life is going, and is in a small journey of self-discovery to what he really wants.
