"Exactly!" Sophie nodded with a grin. "Something fun. Something I'll really enjoy and be passionate about, instead of some stuffy job I'm only doing to pay the bills." She was actually really enjoying herself talking to Rat. She'd always been told not to talk to strangers but clearly that didnt apply when you got older. "Nito? Your parents had some unique ideas when it come to names." She laughed when she heard his brother blew things up. "And you put it all back together? Constructive is better than destructive, any day." It was nice to learn new things about people - building up a bigger picture. "You were a born Healer then. So if I break an ankle on the dancefloor or get sickand have to come to St Mungo's, I know I'm in safe hands." Sophie grinned, and nodded at the thought of saving lives. That part sounded wonderful and if she wasn't so terrible squeamish, she might have thought of signing up to train to be a Healer. "It sounds like a rewarding job. Makes you sound a bit like a hero, I guess." Was that subtle flirting, or the second glass of wine? She still couldn't see herself as wise. Her sister was always saying the best thing she could have done was dye her hair blonde - it gave her an excuse for her ditzy moments. "Well Im not very knowledgeable. Barely scraped through Hogwarts but I am a fairly social and I'd like to think I'm kind...I'm just a big kid." She couldn't help but giggle, setting her now empty glass on the bar. "Growing up is overated." Sophie wasnt sure but she [I thought[/I] she saw a slight pink tinge under that mask Rat was wearing. Well he didnt seem to mind her mindless chatter, yet her cheeks were still a bit flushed. "I'm not all girly chatter. I can be... not...girly." She laughed. "My sister says living with me is like living with an eight year old instead of an eighteen year old but I'm nearly nineteen." And he actually enjoyed listening? "I tend to chatter on, so if you get bored, please tell me. So you had work today?" He asked if she was anxious and Sophie lifted a hand to tug at the feather on top of her mask. "Well, I like the mysterious feel but Im curious who's underneath everyone's masks. Like all the women hear. We probably spent ages getting made up and our faces will remain hidden." The music changed again and Sophie bit her lip, glancing at Rat. "Do you dance?" she asked curiously. |

“Maybe dancing with you is part of my master plan before I flee.” Kylar smiled. “Well you look exquisite in that dress. And now we’re even regarding compliments.” As to her statement about dragging him around, he definitely saw that as rescuing him from boredom. Otherwise he would have probably been stuck there until the end of the party. “So I can’t even drink water by myself then?” He inquired, grinning before responding to her question. She was avoiding his question, which made him wanted to know her name even more. As to his name, he saw no harm in giving it out. "Kylar." He left his last name anonymous though, cause he saw that of no importance. |

"Ah," He commented on Amanda's explanation about her sister. "I believed I was the same around that age." Jayden grinned. Going out, partying, clubing, that seemed to be all he did in his teen years. Freedom, it never tasted so sweet once you first got a taste of it. When Amanda agreed to stay, he was rather pleased. Jayden didn't question where Mist was at the moment, he was having a good time just talking to Amanda. She caught him of interest. "I believe that might be the only thing I like about this party." He said, regarding the food. "Jayden Bentley." He introduced. He saw that by now the dancefloor was beginning to become occupy as the music was blaring full blast. "Would you like to dance?" Jay questioned as he held out his hand for her to take. |

Rat kept laughing at her excitement, it almost reminded him of Alison, but it was a different type. "That's the idea then." He shook his head at how odd it had sounded after he said it. "Yeah, guess that happens when you're in an army family... I didn't put it back persay, more like I made sure Nitro was in one piece," he said with a bit of a laugh at the end. "Hopefully, that wouldn't be the case because someone like you shouldn't be at a hospital." He was uneasy about the part that the next time he might see her would be in the hospital with her on the stretcher. Rat couldn't handle that as well if something went wrong. "Yeah, something like that," he thought internally, but he didn't make it seem like it phased him. "Guess it does," he responded. Rat finished off his firewhiskey as Sophie continued talking. "You seem like a big kid too," he teased with a light smile. "I think that keeping hold of the childish things in life make it much more enjoyable. And you can just carry on with talking, I really do enjoy listening after having to talk all day. But yeah, I worked with mostly paper work to do. Slow day." He couldn't help but nodded his head with a smirk. So, Sophie wanted to know what he looked like probably. Rat could probably make that a long drawn out process, but he wouldn't if she asked him later on. "Maybe... do you want to dance?" he asked her. |

"Sometimes it's like taking care of an eight year old." Amanda rolled her eyes. "I've ugh... brought her up over the last six years. Since she was twelve." It was rarely something she said to a perfect stranger. Why she had decided to stay, she wasnt completely sure. Maybe it was curiosity. The masks hid their faces. She could say and do what she liked and no one but her sister would know it was her. "Good food, I love," Amanda nodded, glancing as well at the food. "I love to cook, wehn I can but usually that's just my evening meal." The food was good to nibble on if you got bored, just as the bar could keep one going. Amanda paused after Jayden told her his name before offering hers. "Amanda Hart," the masks were meant to hide their identity but still... Suddenly, she found a hand held out to her and stared at it, momentarily confused. "Me? You want to dance with me?" Amanda hadn't once smiled or laughed, or shown amusement, yet Jayden was still there talking to her and wanted to dance! She was confused... curious. By now most guys were bored trying and failing to get a smile out of her. Then again, she was still there talking to him. "I... fine. Uh... okay." She placed her hand in his, stepping away from the bar and setting her empty wine glass down. "I haven't danced in a while," she warned, eyeing the dancefloor a little warily. "I'm a bit... rusty." At dancing? Enjoying herself? Both? Amanda tried to concentrate on the beat of the music head starting to nod along to the music, trying to get her hips in on the act, to get them to sway. |

Jemma had been to Italy once before, but she never stayed long enough to explore. She of course, still preferred France more than anything; mostly because she grew up there. Sure, she did had a rough childhood with Anthony, but she loved it there nonetheless. The last time she had been there, been home, was quite a while ago. Once she turned eighteen, she moved out and practically haven't seen Anthony since, not that she wanted to anyway. To Remy's comment, she smirked. "Oh, throwing a party of some sort and I'm not invited? How rude." He was intriuging and mysterious, which made her want to know about him even more. "So Zorro, how about we stir up some fun?" |

Clay smirked as his hand was pressed firmly against her back, pushing her in closer. His other hand rested on her cheek as he kissed her back, rather amused. He was definitely starting to take a liking to her. "You're a bad kisser." He stated after a while as he broke the kiss, his lips remaining in contact with hers though. Of course he was only joking though, she actually wasn't too bad. Her scent though was memorizing to him. From the corner of his eyes, he saw a few people glancing there way, which made his smirk widened. "Don't look now love, but I think you've attracted an audience." |

“Well at least she could keep you entertain, and I’m sure it’s never a dull moment with her around?” Jayden laughed. Kids, they definitely make everything more amusing. Iain was like that, he could simply turn a dull day into an intriguing one; that was one of the reasons why Jay became so fond of Iain. He smiled when Amanda took his hand as he lead her onto the dancefloor. He spun her around as he grinned, “I’m not that good either, so no worries. I’m sure you can’t do worse than me.” It was true; Jay wasn’t much of a dancer. He knew a few dances like the waltz, but that was practically it. "The last time I bothered to dance or anything was probably, two years ago?" He recalled, it was probably somewhere around there. As for her comment of loving to cook, “Really now? I believe the only thing I know how to cook is eggs and bacon.” Most people he knew were terrible at cooking. Jayden was alright though, but all he seemed to be able to make were breakfast; mainly because he preferred to go out for the evening. But either way, food is food. |

making sure her hand was around Gabe's waist as well, she walked with him into the ball. Feeling slightly open in her red dress, she wore it to show off how good she felt about how she looked, finally getting over her insecurities following Maddie, and also for Gabe to have fun getting her out of it after. Looking up at him fiddling with his mask, she laughed. "Remember last year's costume party where you hated your hat? Yeah I will give you a permanent sticking charm to that mask too..." She giggled. "And a gin and tonic please." Sh smiled and barely had to tip toe in order to kiss her husband. She looked around the room, and it was all very confusing since she couldn't see faces, but as long as she remembered Gabe's mask and he remembered hers, they would be okay. |

Having ditched Eamonn, whom she hoped would find a lovely lady to spend the evening with, she made her way around the room. She watched the people interact with a small smile on her face. Was that her meds, or was something going on in her head? She saw how people regarded her dress, and her in general, but in the end, she couldn't be bothered by it, as getting upset over everything worth the effort? For herself though, she kept an eye out for an eligible bachelor, or maybe he didn't need to be a bachelor... she wasn't picky. |

Lexi was definitely glad that she'd come to the party. At first, she'd hesitated for a few moments, but now? Yeah, she was glad she'd come. And maybe it was stupid that she was hanging all over him when she'd only met him a few days ago, but her odd little spurt of confidence had sort of taken over. She wasn't usually so outgoing. It was actually sort of freaking her out. Clay called her a bad kisser, and she pouted for a moment, poking him hard in the arm. "That's a lie, and you know it," she said. Then she turned her head to the side to see what he was talking about, and her cheeks immediately heated up. Well... she hadn't intended to be the entertainment for the night, and she was actually sort of embarrassed. "Oops..." At that point, Lexi straightened up and pulled away from him, running a hand through her hair. "Well... That was interesting." |

Amber smiled at her comment about her mask. "Thank you, it took forever to find." She looked at her dress and mask. "Your dress and mask is very pretty too." She said laughing a little. It was totally true. Amber loved the color green and it looked wonderful on the girl. The gold mask fit her very well too. Amber watched as the random guy came up, he was very hot. That was perfect. Hot guys were one of the main reason's she went to parties. "Nice to meet you Amaris." She said smiling and then she turned to the boy after she was introduced. "Nice to meet you too Logan." She said smiling. She paused for a moment. "Hot guys always make the party better." She said laughing afterwards. "The alcohol is nice, but then the hot guys come and it just makes everything ten times better." |

"Definitely," Em said, nodding in approval. Guys were idiots if they thought they could vanish with no consequences. She was just lucky to have such an awesome fiance. She wished he was there now, so she wouldn't have to search for someone to dance with. That was just annoying and took so much effort. When Kiera asked who to dance with, Em scanned the ball, her eyes searching for someone that stood out. So far? No one. As she said before, she'd rather have Peter. With a shrug of her shoulders, she motioned in the direction of a random hot guy. "You should ask him to dance." Edited by Emery Tallis, Feb 14 2010, 06:31 AM.

Kiera watched as she scanned the room. Kiera laughed when she told her to ask the guy to dance. "Ha! I dont ask anybody to dance." Kiera smiled. "Dancing isn't really my thing. If I was to dance somebody would have to ask me." Kiera paused for a moment. "You do know that telling me to go dance with some random guy isn't going to make me go away right?" Kiera laughed, she knew the girl was just trying to get rid of her. Nobody liked Kiera when they first met her, she was wayy too nice and annoying. She always irritated people. But she didn't care. That's who she is and she's not going to change herself so other people can be pleased. "Im sorry if I irritate you." She paused for a moment. "Its just who I am. My personality is just hyper, annoying and happy." She said shrugging her shoulders and looking around the room. |

Alright, so he was laughing at her; a lot of people did (not in a malicious way). Sophie just reddened and laughed along with him. She didnt mind amusing people. "You're from an army family? So was that really strict? You really look out for your brother, don't you? Are you the older or younger brother?" Rat seemed uneasy when she talked about being treated by him if she ever found herself in St Mungo's. "Someone like me?" She raised an eyebrow, curious. "I'm usually a bit clutsy." By now, Sophie was sure her cheeks were flushed at his teasing smile - she was at least feeling a little hot under the collar. Rat was a really lovely guy. "I like being a big kid. Growing up has too many responsibilities. Although, I do have a grown up side, somewhere..." It wasn't often people were telling her to continue talking; usually her sister was telling her to have a go at being quiet. "You might regret saying that," she smirked. If Rat had been stuck in his office or whatever room he did paperwork in, working, then he needed a bit of fun. He questioned if she wanted to dance and a broad grin spread across Sophie's face. She lid down from the bar stool she was perched on and held out a hand. "Maayyybe..." She bit her lip, taking a brave step forward and and taking Rat's hand, giving it a small tug. "Come on, then," Sophie nodded towards the dancefloor. |

"Yes, she certainly does keep me entertained... and amused." A small smile crept across Amanda's face. "I wouldn't change my little sis for the world. What about you? Do you have siblings?" Amanda couldn't believe she had actually accepted the hand of a guy she'd only known about half an hour and had let him lead her onto the dancefloor. "You're not as bad as you think," she pointed out, finding the small smile still remaining. "Two years ago? Well... okay, you might be a bit rustier than me. My sister will occassionally pop on some music at home and try to get me dancing to it." Cooking was a small passion of hers. She was no culinary chef but she had a few talents in the kitchen. She'd had to teach herself to cook when she moved away from home with Sophie six years ago. "Yeah... I can cook up a few dishes. I haven't heard any complaints." Amanda let out a breath that could be taken as a small laugh. "Eggs and bacon is a start. At least it's good food." She shrugged, the music changing to something a little slower and swaying slightly to the tune. "So what do you do, Jayden." She fell silent as they talked and danced as best they could, speaking up when she was asked a question. |

Leslie certainly looked stunning in her red dress. Gabe was almost tempted to suggest they make the most of the fact that Maddie was at Liam and Victoria's, and head home to enjoy their Valentine's evening together... alone. Well, they'd certainly have some fun tonight and then when they got home... He reddened a little when she reminded him about the hat he's worn with his Sherlock Holmes costume. That thing had bugged him all night. He'd been glad to be rid of it. "I remember and no. Please! No sticking charms. I'm sure you want to see my boyishly hansome face again," he winked at Leslie from beneath his mask. "Gin and tonic for the lady and a fire whiskey for myself please," Gabe nodded at the bartender, handing over the correct coins and passed Leslie her drink. Sipping his drink, her slid his free arm back around her waist and drew her closer, swaying slightly to the music, even though they weren't on the dancefloor. "Hmm... our second Valentine's Day together... first as Mr and Mrs Law." He nodded towards the dancefloor. "Would you care to dance?" |

Rat was maybe enjoying it a lot more than he had thought he would. Plus, Sophie made it easy for him to talk to. "It was a bit strict, but not enough to traumatize me. And yeah, younger brother looks out for the older one. Just we are twins, only nothing alike. What about you?"That was alot of questions, so he kinda just hoped he answered them all and he wanted to see what she was like because he felt like he talked more out of the two. "Oh, well I meant to say was that I find it hard to believe that you would need to be a patient there... but if you say you are clutsy, then I may have to watch out for your chart," he could literally smack himself in the head for just saying that. Though it was better than saying that she would have most men jumping to save her. Nodding along, he couldn't help but let out a slight chuckle at her statement of being a big kid. After all the years with Ali and Nitro, he learned to just let that moment be and they would mature when time came. Maybe there were more people out there just like them. "I can regret lots of things, and that may not be one of them. Plus, you're voice compared to loud noises will win anytime," he remarked. Rat raised an eyebrow at how excited she seemed as he followed her. "Someone is a little excited now?" he asked with a grin. Seriously, the girl was just a ball of happyness. Though, it could be the atmosphere of everything. |

"Mhmm, yeah, you don't look traumatized," There were two of him? Well... two who looked like him, not that she'd seen all of him. His face, that was. Okay, now she was definitely blushing and he hadn't even said anything. "Twins? Well I think it's great that you look out for your big brother. My big sister Amanda had been looking after me since I was twelve. We moved here from Australia, just the two of us and she'd sort of been like my mum and sister." She shrugged as they discussed the potential of her winding up at St Mungo's. "I broke bones as a little kid, so far... I've got better as I've got older. My clutsiness is more, tripping over my own feet, or knowing things over." Okay, she sounded a bit of an air head. Sophie liked Rat's laugh. It was warm and she felt comfortable chatting to him. Then again, her sister said she always had been a socialite. He liked her voice. Sophie found an almost shy smile momentarily spreading. "Charmer..." she murmured, with a slight giggle, fingers curling around his as she tugged him in the direction of the dancefloor. "A little excited. This is a party! You have to dance and enjoy yourself." Sophe turned towards the dancefloor, leading Rat into the crowd and lifting his hand to twirl under, with a contented laugh, before resting her hand on his shoulder. Her hips were already swaying to the beat, eyes lit up. She loved to dance when she could and have fun... parties with friends, in her room listening to her stereo... "Do you dance often?" |

Rat just shook his head, smiling at how she continued to blush. He could actually see it clearly, even if the lighting was dimmed and the mask. "Hmm, your sister seems like a very trustworthy person," he commented. "Sounds like a friend of mine. You two would be friends in no time." Really, Sophie was just like Alison, but he didn't feel as much like a brother towards her. That and he knew more about Ali than he might ever know about the girl before him. "Seems like you need someone to continuously be around you to make sure you don't break anything then." Her giddyness was contagious almost, because Rat couldn't stop himself from laughing along with it. "You have to dance?" he mimicked as a question and added to it with a smirk as she twirled around. "Only when I have a partner to dance with. So lately that would be a no," he shrugged before placing his hands on her hips in a place that was proper. Really, it was Rat and he wanted to keep some boundaries, especially if Sophie's protective sister was in the room. |
