Arya shook her head, "If I wanted you to run away, I wouldn't be dancing with you." She left it at that, and then looked around again, pausing when he said he looked ridiculous, "Hun, the tux doesn't wear the man, the man wears the tux. If you hadn't have look good in it, the compliment wouldn't have stood." Common sense, in her terms. She was grinning, though, at his manner.

"I wonder if dragging you around is rescuing you from boredom," she though aloud, and let him spin her once more. "One should never drink alone..." She added, more as an afterthought.

The idea of not sharing her name seemed enticing, but there was no harm in a nickname. There was no history, and she was sure she'd never met this guy before anyway. Instead of sharing, though, she asked, "What would your name be?"

it's a rubin thing
With Dante's answer, Anna put down her drink and looked at the bartender, having her own conversation with him in an undertone. Finally, she turned and handed Dante a drink. "Here, it's not as strong as it tastes, he says. Not exactly sure what it is, even. He's one of those personality bartenders." Which was always... just a lot of fun.

She picked up her own drink and sipped from it. It was definitely not something strawberry or cherry and she was very happy about that.

Anna started to notice familiar hairstyles, but didn't say anything. She'd attempted to be unrecognizable with the return to blond hair and all that...but one could always expect best friends to pick them out.

Evelynn grinned as Lucan put his around her waist and led them to the bar. She doesn't how Lucan can make her all bubbly inside yet some of his actions makes he wants to hit him, in a good way. It was liked that when they were younger expect more....flustered.

She and his father was still getting used that her mother left and she was taking care of him up to third year so she was going around dating other boys. Lucan just had problems about talking to a girl, which she still finds it adorable and funny and ended up him blushing like crazy and talking gibberish. She didn't blame him since she was sort of like that when they first met but it still was hilarious.

When they got their drinks, firewhiskey, she took a sip and gasp at the burning sensation. She still can't get used to it. She turned to Lucan and asked playful, "So boy wonder, are you going to jump into danger or should bat girl come to the rescue?" She's been calling him boy wonder because of his mask and when she said 'danger', she meant dancing. He wasn't the kind of person to start dancing just for the hell of it.

Milo was kind of straddling the line between the dancefloor and the shadows. He didn't know that many people in England, but it seemed like basically...everyone had shown up, so therefore there was a possibility that he knew someone there. He was getting in the way of the dancers, though, from the look he was receiving from a man in a grey mask (oh, so descriptive). Milo raised an eyebrow back, he wasn't intimidated.

He turned, though, and headed for the bar. He was able enough to get a drink, and that was what he did, finding a seat in the process.

"Something light, please."

What he needed was to pass time, not to get wasted five minutes into the evening. He was good at holding his liquor though, a recent discovery. He raised the glass at the bartender and then downed it, looking around again. Where was Sadie, at least.

"Italy. I live there off and on still," Rem answered. "Depends on if you want to make it interesting."

So he wasn't the only one coming back to England then. Not that interesting of a fact maybe, but a fact none the less. For once he hadn't gone to something with any ulterior motives but to just enjoy himself.

"I've been gathering up old friends."

Not actually a lie and not the entire truth--exactly the best way to put it.

Sophie had been stood on the edge of the dancefloor, watching the couples dance and friends mingle, whilst sipping happily on her glass of white white. Everyone seemed to know somone but she only knew her sister, Amanda and Amanda was talking to a guy at the far end of the bar. Or at least exchanging pleasantries. Sophie only really knew her friends from school, but now that she'd graduated, it was time to make some new friends... have a little fun.

Gaze scanning the room, it rested on a man perhaps a year or two older than her [Milo], sat at the bar, alone. He was kind of cute and besides, her glass was down to the last few drops. That and the evening wasn't much fun standing or sitting on your own.

Sophie made her way back towards the bar, setting down the empty glass and pulling her purse from her bag just as the bar tended passed. "I'll have another white wine, please." She hopped up onto a stool while she waited for her drink and turned to fix the man a dazzling smile. "Not enjoying the party alone, are you? I'm Sophie."

A peach colored, short gown had been Sadie's gown of choice, in light of the fact that she had long ago gotten rid of any ballgowns she owned. It was a life she had refused, and keeping the gowns had seemed pointless. She liked her little cocktail dress.

Spying someone who she thought looked an awful lot like her brother, she brightened up and snuck up behind him, before jumping him in a hug and laughing.

"Okay, tell me you're Milo, because if your not I'm going to feel like a complete idiot." She chuckled, knowing it was her brother.

Lucan chuckled as he took a swing of his drink. "I don't know Bat Girl, I think I should wait for Batman." he said as he went along calling each other superhero names. Okay so he doesn't like to dance as much the other person but what guy does like to dance? Well, there are probably a few but not him. "But seriously, you know I'm a disaster when it comes to dancing." he told her as lean his forehead onto hers, even if the feathers were in the way.

"Besides, I rather fight the Joker than bump into everyone in the dance floor. I can go paroling if you want." he added with a grin. He knew he had a small chance of losing the fight since Evelynn will come up with something. But he still wanted to protest because he still has a very small chance.

Rat Kiley

Rat had heard from many people, patients and fellow workers, that there was a masquerade ball. Deciding that he needed to get out more because he was somewhat tired of just hanging out with Nitro and Fintan, he decided to come and see what it was all about. Plus, he didn't have much of a journey from work because he was normally in formal wear. So Rat had changed into a black dress shirt with a black vest and red tie before adding a red mask to hide his identity incase someone he knew saw him there.

He didn't want them to know, because it just wasn't him to come to a ball unless forced. Well, there was no way that he would be able to explain. So as he looked around, Rat was pretty sure that no one there was one of his friends.

"Can I get a firewhiskey?" he asked one of the bartenders as he sat down on the stool. Heck, even if he didn't meet anyone then he would be okay, but that wasn't as much of the point.

Milo kind of had that prickly feeling at the back of his neck, and he couldn't figure out why it was there. And then, it was answered as Sadie tackled him from behind and he grinned. It would be fun to pretend like it wasn't him and all, but he hadn't seen his sister in a bit.

"Milo? Who is this Milo character you speak of?" He put on a thick Romanian accent, but laughed a moment later and hugged Sadie once more, "Where have you been, Sadie, I missed you." He said truthfully, and motioned for her to sit beside him.

"Arya dragged me along, intent on me socializing and finding a landlord. She herself disappeared, and I'm pretty sure that's her dancing with the dark-haired guy."

He pointed her out with a nod of his head.

Well, it seemed like the guys she'd tried to talk to was otherwise engaged - everyone really did seem to know someone here. Still, no matter. The bartender returned with her white wine and Sophie turned in her seat to look around, her heeled foot tapping to the music. She was glad she came and glad she'd dragged her sister there.

Noticing someone else arriving at the bar, [Rat] she flashing him a small smile, her glass in hand. "This club is new, right?" Really, she had no idea what clubs were old or new, she just wanted to start conversation.

Rat Kiley

As his drink arrived, a lady that was seated a few seats down started to talk to him. Well, wasn't he lucky then? Rat stood up and took a seat right next to her. "Truthfully, I have no idea. But hey, it is a club and that's probably all that matters," he told her after taking a gulp of his drink.

The firewhiskey gave a slight burn to his throat but he didn't mind because it was just something that came with it. "My name is Rat," starting off the introductions. "May I ask what yours is?"

Okay, maybe he should make up a name. Just if she didn't believe him because it was a weird name. But it was given to him by his dad that had served and it served as a remembrance of a guy that had saved his dad's life. So he would go by the name just to honor that friendship and loyalty.

Evelynn rolled her eyes and smiled, "I think Batman is a little busy with other things, like checking on Wayne Enterprises." she laughed when she finished her sentence, "You are over exaggerating. You are not a disaster; you're actually a decent dancer." Okay, so what if he sometimes steps on people's foot? What if he wasn't that graceful but she couldn't blame him. "I haven't met a werewolf that can decently dance and that's something Mr. Grey." she said with a grin.

"Please, I'm sure the Joker is out partying just like us." she told him as she looked into his eyes. "Besides, you used to go motorcycle races, don't tell me that you are afraid to dance with me in front of people who are probably not even looking at us!" she said with a slightly commanding tone. She didn't mean to sound mean but she couldn't help it.

Sophie turned in her seat to face the man as he moved to the seat beside hers, the smile still across her lips. "To tell you the truth, I haven't been to many clubs. I just graduated this summer, my sister who I live with rarely wants to go out and I don't know many people hit the clubs with." Still, she was smiling. She was a graduate, an adult. The world was her oyster. She glanced across the dancefloor and at all the people in the room. "But it looks like fun tonight."

Sophie couldn't help but raise an eyebrow in amusement when she heard his name. "Rat? Really?" At first she thought he was joking but then again, some people had... unique names. "Sorry. I'm not making fun of your name, honest. I just, I've never heard anyone called that before. I'm Sophie."

She was making friends. "So, I take it you're not here with anyone...?"[/b]

As Anna basically tackled him, Shawn laughed and caught her. He hugged her hard enough to lift her up for a second, laughing as he did so before setting her back down. Zorro, it was. Teasing lightly,

"Hey, Lolita." The childhood mate with whom Zorro fell in love with, obviously. He still was just teasing her as he followed them both to the booth. The room was purely dark, the lights bouncing off the masks, and Shawn was grateful he could hardly see. The sea of sequins and puffed gowns made it impossible to make out who was there.

He still had a feeling he knew she was.

Bloody hell, he shouldn't have even been looking though. He kind of just knew better than that by this point. So reaching for a glass, he downed it and then let out the hiss of a gasp and closed his eyes. Two minutes or so later, he came out of it laughing a little bit.

"All right." He turned to Anna and muttered with the usual tease, "So what's up in the Anna-universe?"

He needed to get back to ... normal. Bloody hell, couldn't he do that for just one night?

Rat Kiley

He raised his eyebrow at the fact that she was only what three to four years younger then him. "Well, congrats to finishing school then and stepping into the real world," he commented with a smile. Rat could just remember the night of graduation, his house was such a mess after the party they had. It was just something that was necessary to start off with for adulthood.

"Yeah, really it is. But no need to apologize, Rat is an odd name. Plus it's better than Radcliffe," he told her with a sincere smile. There were somethings that he knew people didn't get, but it was all okay with him. He thought that the name made people smile and be happy. "Well, it is nice to meet you then Sophie."

Rat looked at her, trying to think of what the best answer would be. "Not really, I'm not here with anyone," he told Sophie before taking a sip of his firewhiskey.

"Why thank you. It's only been a few months but I've just been making the most of being out of school. It's exciting. I never realized what was out there... still finding out I guess." It was all a big adventure. Although, she didnt really know where she was headed. She was just letting the wind take her. "So what did you do after you graduated? Or what do you do?"

Actually, hearing it again, Rat was actually a pretty cool name. Who wanted a boring, everyday name like Frank, or John? "I take it you know a Radcliffe? I'd quite like a unique name. I mean, Sophie is all very well but lots of people are called Sophie."

Her foot continued to tap along with the music, the tune was catchy. "Pleased to meet you too. I'm just here with my big sister Amanda but I left her talking to a guy at the other end of the bar... somewhere over there." She nodded in the opposite direction. The crowd was in the way. She'd lost sight of her. Sophie took a sip of her wine, reaching up to adjust her mask. "These things are annoying. I wish I could see people rather than just their mouths."

Rat nodded his head, listening because it was the polite thing to do and it was interesting to hear the take of someone younger than him on how life was. "Well, one day you will find out what to do. Heck, my brother found something to do and that's one accomplishment right there," he told her with a slight chuckle at the end. "Oh, I'm a Healer actually."

"Well, kinda. But he's kinda a friend of my dad that I haven't seen in a while..." he trailed off, not really knowing how to say that the man was dead. Rat wasn't good at saying that part, even when it came to work. But he kept his smile, remembering that the man had saved lives as well. "Sophie is a nice name. Its very wise sounding."

He laughed at how she was pretty carefree. It was something that his brother would do most likely if he were here, but somehow not having Nitro there was a bit better. "Maybe the point is to make it much more magical and mysterious," he pointed out with a smirk. "Though I have a feeling that these masks will be dropped sooner or later."

"I think that's what my sister wants me to do...fast. Find a job and help pay the bills. Problem is, I have no idea what to do or what I'd be good at." Sophie shrugged, sipping her wine. "Still, no rush, right?" She laughed when he talked about his brother. "Well he sounds like fun, I he anything like you?" A Healer...It sounded important and she heard it took a lot of training. "Did you always want to be a Healer? I'm not sure I could do the blood and gore..." Her cheeks reddened a little embarrassed.

She nodded when he explained who Radcliffe was to an extent but didn't push him, although she was curious. "Well Radcliffe is still a cool name." Sophie found herself reddening again, giggling slightly hearing her name was wise sounding. "Wise? Thats not a word I've been associated with in the past. Ditzy maybe... naive but never wise."

Sophie liked that Rat laughed and smiled. She could have made the mistake of starting up a conversation with stuffy old bore... but obviously she hadn't. "Now magical and mysterious I like the sound of. Like a fairytale... sort of romantic." She bit her lip. "Sorry. I guess guys don't like all that girly valentines banter." Sophie was curious to see what was beneath the mask. How could she really tell if any guy she was talking to was cute if she couldn't see their whole face? Not that it was all to do with looks, of course. "Hopefully they'll come off sooner rather than later."

Rat Kiley

Rat was paying attention to her, taking brief sips of his firewhiskey. "Right, no rush. But hey, it will happen one day and hopefully you will have a good time with it," he said sincerely. His compassionate side yet again came out. "Umm, Nitro is like the total opposite of me. He enjoys to blow things up."

Compared to that, Rat could literally say that his brother sounded so much better than him. "Actually, I did. My mom was a nurse and with my brother always exploding things, it just came naturally," he told her. "But its not all blood, there's those magical moments when you save a life. Knowing you did something good for someone else," he was getting caught up in the feeling.

"You are probably wise in some aspect though. Socially or in kindness. Wise doesn't just exist in one aspect, like with knowledge." Rat enjoyed the fact that he had his mask on at that point, because he was blushing after he realized how insightful everything he said sounded. But Sophie was being so much carefree about it all.

He laughed again at how she apologized, thinking that it was kinda adorable. "No, it is okay. I rather enjoy listening to that after a long day of work," he shrugged with a smile. This was actually turning into a wonderful night. "A little anxious are we?" he asked.
