Em stared at Kiera's admission of having never been to a party. What was wrong with that girl? What did she do for amusement? How did she live? Okay, now she was just being way too overdramatic, but that happened sometimes. "It does sound horrible," Em agreed, taking the glass of champagne from the man and muttering a thanks.

Her eyebrow arched way up at the thought of cupids in the corner. Well, that was great. If she went to the corner by mistake? Yeah. She'd just stop going to parties altogether. It was bad enough that she'd basically made out with Jake at the last one, because of 'something in the air,' but if cupids attacked her and she did it again? She'd explode. "Oh Merlin..." She sighed. "Yeah, let's all just... stay out of the cupid corners. Far away."

She grinned as Martin raised his glass and did the same to hers, then took a sip. To be perfectly honest, she'd probably have a headache as well. She'd been good on the whole not drinking thing, so it wasn't like it'd get horrible. She wouldn't be out of control, and she wouldn't have some weird spaz attack and pass out. So, she was fine.

"The last party I was at? They, like, put something in the air and in the drinks. It was just bad." And really amusing. But bad.

Three options to contemplate then? Well she was positive of at least one of those.

"Dance," Jordan answered. "I'm sure you got a move or two in you, Cal," she then teased.

They were there to have fun after-all, so going for the option she wouldn't usually go for was the better option then.

Cal tugged Jem out onto the dancefloor, anticipating her answer somehow. He pulled her hands over his shoulders before he let his rest around her waist. Looking around, he noticed the theme of the club, and then some weird movement in the corners, and he decided not to pay much attention to the anomalies.

"If swaying is a move, than I'm a master at it."

He laughed. That was about as close to modern dancing as he got. Swaying and how to waltz. The latter, though, was probably common to all Pureblood families. Therefore Cal didn't see the importance. Things were better when they were rare, instead of plenty.

Kiera grinned. "Yea im not much of a partier, but I needed to get out and meet some people so I figured I would come."

Kiera grabbed the glass of champagne and took a drink. Kiera wasn't much of a drinker, but it was at a party and she was having fun so she didn't care.

"Yea the last thing I need is to go into those corners. Definetly not I'll stay over here." Kiera said thinking about all the things that could happen if she went over there, not very good toughts.

She would stay way far away. She knew it sounded pretty pathetic that she had never been to a party. But she never really got into that kind of stuff. She was raised the good girl.

Today was the first time she even had alcohol. It was definetly something she could get used to though. But she wasn't going to drink all the time. Only at parties.

She told herself a long time ago she would never drink a lot of alcohol. Parties are the acception.

Martin grinned at the two girls. Okay so, one had never been to a party and the other seemed to have been at too many parties. ”Something in the air? Well, then it was probably hard to fight it off.” he joked, smiling. Yeah, he heard about that one. Locked up in some manor to have a good time. It was pretty much the biggest news around the Ministry for a week or so. Until that guy blew up his family, because his cauldron was wrecked. There`s nothing better than a fresh gossip for the people at the Ministry, eh?

He opened his mouth to say something, before he saw the couple going their way. Oh great. Dear mom and dad were here. Amazing. He really didn`t want to get into the whole ‘so, when are you getting promoted’ talk. It would have put him in a horrible mood.

”Sorry girls. Gotta go. Very unpleasant people coming over.” he smiled, before nodding his head lightly and turning around to disappear. Oh well… a man`s gotta do what a man`s gotta do.

Lately there'd been a lot of misery, boredom, and confusion. Some people were still trying to piece together Bledow; Anna had been checking in periodically with George and Haley; and some people were still in Mungos, and the list went on. She'd gone to the meeting, left, and tried really, really hard not to think about what she'd really done. And then she'd stayed with Mia for hours, trying to figure out the whole Erin-Mungos dilemma.

What the party was about, though, was forgetting issues and dilemma's and just having fun for the length of the evening.

And Anna had been looking forward to it. When she stepped into the club, she was swept up in the amazing atmosphere. She hoped she'd be able to meet the host to compliment them. Everyone was dressed in lovely gowns and great masks. Anna was wearing a black gown that wasn't really Anna-esque, so she'd tossed in random ribbons and leather, and got what she wanted. After that, she'd picked out a black and silver mask that she figured went well with it.

Then, she turned, "Dante, hurry up." She laughed, pulling him along with her. They'd met and had decided it would be fun hanging out after so long and she'd obliged, content.

Slipping into the room, her silver clutch in hand and mask on her face, Kerri smoothed out the blue satin of her dress. She pulled out a pocket mirror from the clutch quickly to make sure that her hair which was pinned to the side of her head was still falling in loose waves over her shoulder. All she hoped for was that she looked good, the club was new, that she knew because the Prophet wanted her opinion on the place. After all, who knew who was looking around the corner. But the truth was, Kerri was pretty shy at the moment, you'd think that with getting some form of hate mail a day would make her more confident with a mask on, you were wrong.

Moving over to the bar, she pulled out a couple sickles ad got a glass of wine while she walked around the room and took it all in.

When Dante had heard about the party he hadn't been so sure at first. He didn't usually go to those things or have an interest in it, but he decided for once he'd actually get out somewhere; walking to the store and around Diagon hardly counted. If he stayed in any longer someone was going to call it hermiting and he'd get in trouble. When he talked to Anna that afternoon they had decided though to go considering how long it had been since they had last talked or even hung out. Admittedly he had missed that. He had gone for simplicity with the typical tux and a green mask that had a few more gems and designs on it than he'd care for, but he didn't have one and he ended up having Anna find one.

"Momentarily distracted. I have my moments; You should remember that," Dante pointed out as he laughed, and then walked up beside her; his hand going to the small of her back. He glanced around a moment seeing all the decorations and the people already there all dressed up. "What do you think? Worth coming?" He thought so at least thus far.

The flier to the party had done absolutely nothing to really cheer Shawn up. First, the last party they'd been invited too had involved one of the worst weekends of his life, although it culminated in the birth of his daughter. Then there was the party over the summer, which had also technically, culminated in Holly-Rae.

As for masquerade balls...he wasn't very fond of them. Courtney had died at them.

Twice. Sure, she had technically only died once, but to him? He was living her death all over again. It was an incredibly cruel thing, to get someone back and lose them all over again. To know for months you'd spent happy family moments, with a liar and an impostor. It had a way of just sucking the life right out of you, and Shawn was someone who loved to live life. In that vein, he wasn't sitting inside his flat; he'd gone nearly straight to the bar (as soon as Holly was settled) and proceeded to order several shots of something deep, dark, and red.

Shawn didn't know what happened after that.

Tonight, he'd been just fine staying in, his own bottles more than capable, his own movies and television set more than entertaining. He was spending a lot of time with Anna, George, and Haley lately, but he'd had the night to himself. However, he had a very surprising visitor show up at his door, barge her way inside, take three quick takes around his living room, and declare he needed to get out.

All before Winnie had even said hello to him.

It brightened some little part of him to see her, and failing to inform her of all the particulars of his life, he decided basically: She was utterly right. So he changed into a tuxedo, dusted off an old mask that he felt made him look like Zorro, and headed straight out the door with her. She was eying him inquisitively on his arm, and he beamed a little while he walked forward. Through the sequins, he thought he made out someone who looked like Anna. At least, she had her hair...

And she'd just asked about Dante. That settled it, he thought. Tapping on her shoulder, he grinned and smiled, "Anna? Love the mask. " He offered a wave to the alleged 'Dante'. "Hey."

Was he supposed to say who he was, or not?

"By what? There's nothing remotely interesting on the outside." She smiled and shook her head at him, and he was already laughing. Better than he had been that afternoon, for sure. She was glad for the company, and to know that he wasn't hiding away like he'd let on to doing recently. Everyone needed...fun, and chance, and... all of the good stuff. At least once in a while. Neither of them had really said what they'd been up to recently and that was fine, too. She kind of never knew what to say when it came to the branding on her left arm.

"Maybe it's been too long..." She shrugged, but that wasn't the case either. As for his question she put her hands on her hips, "Erm, yeah. Do you see this place? It looks like a fairytale." Well, at least it did to her, in a lot of ways. She looked around again and soaked it all up. Different. That night seemed different than the rest.

When someone tapped her shoulder, she turned, not sure what to expect, but then a beat later she squealed, "Zorro!" And all but tackled Shawn. He...was at a ball. And not just any ball... a masquerade ball. Anna was surprised, and then thought, she shouldn't have been. She looked at the person next to him and paused, "Winnie? Hi!" She hadn't been sure, at first. She hugged her and then pulled back.

"Oh, guys, this is Dante," she motioned full-length Dante and then to Dante, "This is my best friend Shawn, and my old friend Winnie, who's been M.I.A. for...a long time."

She wasn't sure what the proper way to explain that was.

"Well that's what you think, Rubin. You got to keep your eyes open," he joked.

Okay so maybe there wasn't anything that interesting outside, but it was more his thoughts that got him distracted. For right now though he needed to push that all aside. He smiled, a bit amused, with her attitude when she pointed out the room in her answer.

"It looks like Cupid's castle," Dante teased.

As she squealed though with the exclamation of 'Zorro', he turned around to see who she had spotted, and he stood a little awkward, but said a simple 'Hi' in response to...well he didn't know it. Not till Anna gave an introduction of sorts.

"Nice to meet you."

Dante didn't exactly socialize enough to actually be any good at it when he had to, but hey he was making a attempt and he wasn't trying to shy away to stand somewhere else; progress.

The look on Shawn's face was what had done it.

Winnie usually would have written to let him know she was coming, but she wanted to surprise him. Happening across the flier on the way from Cascades to his flat (which she'd found the address for in her over-sized purse scrawled on parchment sideways and a little smudged) she'd squealed with excitement. A real masquerade ball? She'd contemplated just dressing up and going (as Shawn was sure to already have a date) and stop by his house the next day, but she was already on her way there.

And she did so hate to go backwards.

Opening his door on the fifteenth or so knock, the look on his face had shocked her. Gone appeared to be her over-confidant, smirking best friend, and in his place there lived a dazed hermit. It was worse than she'd thought. She'd gotten a letter from him a week So while she'd gone inside, looked around at the slight mess (looking at the nursery particularly interested), and made it appear that she was reacting to, it was his face.

So without so much as a hello, she'd handed him the flier, hugged him, and marched him out the door. He was coming. And she intended on making sure he had a good time. If she had to corner him in the cupids himself.

Beaming in surprise as she too (slightly) recognized Anna, she grinned as she hugged Shawn and then bounced over to hug her too. "Ohmimerlin, Anna- HI!" She was smiling, flipping her hair over her shoulder.

"Oh- M-I-A doesn't even begin to cover it. I was on top of Kilimajaro. Not that it's the first time I climbed that one obviously- third time. You think they'd increase reception up there. The owls can't get up and other birds even less so...and wizards still have this odd hate of cell phones. Bizarre." Grinning as she spun around, to immediately hug the guy too.

..What? She couldn't hug him, just because there was a ring on his finger? He looked fun.

"Positively brill to meet you as well, mate." She went on her toes for a moment and added, "Should we get drinks?"

Anna rolled said eyes at his comment. "Actually, that's my biased opinion, since I've entered cupids castle." She snorted at the name he came up with, but thought that it was completely fitting. When Shawn and Winnie joined them, she slightly expected Dante to close off, but he didn't and she smiled.

"I'm not even slightly surprised by that, and Shawn told me about climbing..."

Or, well, he'd mentioned the last time he'd seen Winnie, at least. Anna was curious and wanted to ask Winnie about a ton of thing since the last time that they'd seen each other, but she'd wait until they weren't at a party. She wanted to spend more time with Shawn and Winnie in general, and Dante as well. She noticed Winnie hug Dante and laughed, hopefully he'd still stick and not run.

"Drinks sounds really good."

Definitely a different night.

Tina followed, or really was dragged, to the bar aspect of the club almost immediately upon entering. She had gone to pick Amaris up after making sure things at home would be pretty much stable. Granted, she had spent nearly two hours getting ready because she had forgotten exactly how many dresses she owned, and then it had taken some time actually deciding how formal was formal enough for this shindig in the first place. Finally she had decided on a somewhat simply and pretty dress if she did say so herself, with vibrant pink heels for the mood of the whole 'valentine's day' theme. Granted, the mask had actually taken a little bit of time to find but eventually she had decided on one.

After picking up Ama, and rolling her eyes and laughing predictably at her choice of attire (apparently...formal meant something quite different to her) they dropped off her girls in Spain, chatted a little bit with her 'aunt' and then disapparated directly into one the owner's office to greet them before going out to the party. Apparently, Amaris was really acquainted with them. They seemed really nice and friendly and promised to be down soon to join them.

And now Amaris was placing a drink for 'any kind of alcohol, just be quick about it, please and thank you'. Tina raised an eyebrow before asking, "Okay either you are dying woman longing for drink, or you developed a kink in your 'let's have fun' plan." Tina was obviously banking on the latter, as she turned around and leaned her back against the bar so she could look more closely around the room. Not a completely horrible crowd, they seemed social enough.

Amaris was usually able to work under multi-tasking conditions fairly easily but this time she was on a one-track mind heading for one specific thing and that specific thing only: alcohol. She was still excited about the party, despite knowing what other parties happened to do to her, so she had invited her sister to her flat, told her to bring as many dresses as she possibly could and that after that she could go gossip to their parents about how she was pregnant and now had a child. Two of them. Surprisingly, Isadora didn't look like she was going to rat her out, which was something incredibly alarming, had she given it a second though.

Amaris was able to find a dress that looked like her. Of course she had to make some alterations like get rid of the actual cloth and put something semi transparent. Best part was that the bottom portion of it was easily removable. She wanted to flaunt, even if she did have to cover her face up with this mask to do so. Nevertheless, she was determined to have fun.

Until, she saw who exactly was already in the room of course. Then, she headed straight for the bar.

"Any kind of alcohol, doesn't matter just make it,please. Thank you," With a sigh she sat down on a stool and listened to Tina as she spoke. "People I want to avoid and masks? Don't work as well as you'd expect them to." Amaris shrugged her shoulders and downed the drink when it was given to her, gasping in and humming. Wow, that felt good. Seven months, seven months without it. She wasn't having children again for a while. Or ever, two was good.

With a grin, Amaris turned to Tina and asked, "You know, you do owe me one sexy dance tonight. Get this party going and what not" Girl on girl dancing? Always a major crowd pleaser. She aimed to please...usually.

Kerri looked over at the woman who sat down a few stools from where she was standing and her eyes nearly bugged out of the mask. Wow, was the slit high enough? She listened to them talk, which was hard over murmurings and music, but she laughed to herself. She grabbed her glass and walked over to them an held out her hand. "I'm Kerri. I'm really sorry, but I think your dress split, you're like basically showing everything off to people." She said, trying to be polite, maybe the woman didn't realize how high the slit went.

All Shayna heard all week at work was about this amazing Valentine's Day Ball that some people were throwing. Not knowing anything, she asked her boss about it, who told her the date and time. Her boss, Michelle, was always good at finding parties, and trying to get Shayna involved in all of them. She wasn't really a party girl, but Shayna enjoyed getting out once and a while.

Shayna walked in in her red dress, in honor of the occasion, not really knowing what to do. She came to a Valentine's Day party without a date, which to her didn't seem right. But hopefully, she would find someone she knew from work just to talk to. She'd rather not be standing at the outside of this, just being an outcast. But considering everyone was wearing masks, much like her own, she didn't really recognize anyone. But there was a girl there in a really high-cut green dress that Shayna just had to own. There was a girl telling her that the dress was split, if only she knew.

"That's the point of the dress, honey," Shayna said, right as she got to the girls. Ignoring the ignorant, she turned the girl in the green dress. "Where did you get that? I love it, it reminds me of my old gymnastics outfits. It's absolutely gorgeous!" Shayna said, smiling, trying not to make herself look bad.

Em waved to Martin as he walked off. Well, so far so good, right? She was socializing, and having a bit of fun already. So, that was good. Fun was good. She looked back at Kiera with a small smile. The girl was a little weird, but she looked like she was really just trying to fit in. So, Em wasn't going to be rude to her.

"Yeah..." she said. "Going to parties is, like... my thing, I guess. It's odd, because I usually hate talking to people, but I love to be around them?" Em shrugged. It made no sense to her either. She took a few more sips of her champagne, then sighed. "Yeah, cupid corners? Bad idea. And to be perfectly honest, I wouldn't drink that much either. You never know what could happen at these sorts of parties." Which was why it was so fun, after all.

Kiera smiled. "Bye." She said waving as he walked away. Kiera turned back to the girl.

Kiera was a bit confused about her, she hated talking to people. But loved being around them? Kiera just didn't like people that much, most of them were self obsorbed or slept around way too much!

"Yea im going to try to stay as sober as possible." She said laughing. "I still need to be able to get home and show up not completely wasted."

Kiera laughed at the thought of Emmett seeing her drunk, he would probably flip. Blame her for cheating etc. He wasn't really the trusting type guy.

"The last thing I need is to go through another breakup." She said laughing a little. Why was she telling this girl this? She didn't know her that well. Then again, she had hardly knew Cassie when she told her everything.

She thought about her and Seth's breakup, it had seemed really bad. But for some reason, she didn't think it would hurt her as much if Emmett left her. She loved him way more then she did Seth but, maybe she was just used to it or something?

"I cannot believe you you brought me here," Amanda muttered, handing her coat into the cloak room and being dragged a few steps further into the club (as she tried to retreat into a corner) by her younger sister Sophie. "You know I hate these fancy events." It was more that she hated having to mingle. Amanda was out of practice. She worked, she came home, she had her responsibilities an socialising just didn't fit into that. She didn't have the time or the patience.

"You do realize, you given up a nice relaxing evening, chilling with popcorn and icecream in our PJs in front of a movie, for this!" Amanda's gaze scanned the club dubiously. She hated this time of year - Valentine's Day. It was far too over rated. Far too pink and red, all lovey dovey and cheesy. The decor whilst elegantly put together just sang Valentines and romance to her. The sofa at home was calling to her but her sister wouldn't let her go anywhere.

Sophie had just grauated and was officially an adult now and was determined to go out more with her big sister - clubbing, socializing - when it came to their girly siser night every week. Amanda didn't know why she couldn't just be happy with chillign out and chatting, personally.

Amanda reached down to tug at the hem of her dress before fixing her mask. Grabbing her sister's arm this time, Amanda dragged her towards the bar. "I'm getting a drink and you're coming with me."
