Rat was truly enjoying himself. This was one of the times he could actually just relax without worrying of someone getting hurt or that had already been hurt. Though after hearing that Sophie was a bit clumsy, he wasn't sure how long that would last, but it wouldn't be bad to help her either. "Only if you are okay with that then yes," he answered back. He was trying to make sure that she was okay with that. It was just his nature to make sure everyone was alright, and it meant more for Sophie to be happy because he knew her better. He nodded along about the book classical portrayals. "Some guys do, some like very mean ones... while others enjoy the very perky and cheerful ones that blush at compliments or flirting," he suggested. So he was trying to flirt, and it was probably not working but hey, it was a ball. "I'm positive. Plus, it has been fun now, so it should be a blast later." Rat smiled back at her to so he did mean it. Really, he would rather enjoy seeing Sophie again. "That is a lot. But we have a lot of time to accomplish it." He faked hurt when she whacked his arm, even though it didn't hurt much. However, she wanted to see his face. It wasn't that Rat was self-conscious of what he looked like. But he didn't know if she would be one of the people that liked people for looks. Though he could probably say that she wasn't. "Yes you may." |

Amaris had already made up her mind; she absolutely liked both Amber and Shayna. Shayna because she loved her dress, and Amaris of course had to agree seeing as how she herself picked out the dress and altered it so it could truly show her own personality. And she liked Amber because she seemed fun, and flirty and teasing and seemed like an awesome person to party with. Plus, both of them were amazingly hot, but she was already reprimanded by Tina for not being subtle so this was hardly the appropriate time to bring it up. Ah well. Amaris turned around once to pick up her drink when she thought she saw someone she had been trying to avoid. She turned around with her drink in hand immediately; she didn't want to see and double check on what she had thought she'd seen because that would involve exposing herself to said person. Alright, down went that pink colored drink. And Tina's drink? No longer in Tina's hand, but rather in Amaris' hand. Down went that red drink as well. Amaris gasped and shook her head. Merlin, did she miss this. When Tina mentioned dancing, Amaris nodded enthusiastically, grinning at Amber and Logan's response. She smirked slightly and then grabbed Shayna and Amber's hands, while Tina took Logan's as they both lead their people to the dance floor. Dance line? Hell yes. |

“French.” Jayden replied, “I could actually speak the language a bit now, at first I was horrible at it.” He laughed as he recalled the first time he stepped foot in the place. The cook didn’t speak an ounce of English so it was definitely a challenge. “I thought bonjour was a type of bread." Turned out that meant hello, which probably made more sense. He then listened to Amanda as she told him about her past jobs. She had more than he ever did, but that was a good thing. Job hunting would probably be easy for her since she had alot of experiences. “Well now that she graduated, you’ll definitely have more time to yourself.” He nodded. “Maybe go into extra training?” Jayden smiled at her, he was becoming rather fond of her which was strange considering he had only met Amanda a few hours ago. This was new for him; to suddenly grow a liking to someone. He didn't question it though. Edited by Jayden Bentley, Feb 20 2010, 02:10 AM.

“Well maybe I am with someone.” Kylar replied with a laugh. “Actually, not quite. My sister dragged me here but to where she is? That is beyond me.” Last time he saw Mist was probably half an hour ago, but as of right now, he didn’t care where she was. He was having a good time with someone he barely knew. It was strange yet he was rather fond of her company. “True, I consider that unfair though. You know my name and yet I know nothing.” He then spun Arya before smiling. "Do I even get to know your name? Or do I need to start giving you a nickname of some sort?" Edited by Kylar Vane, Feb 20 2010, 03:06 AM.

Clay laughed at Lexi's suggestion. "I believe that would be an amazing idea." He smirked. He liked the way she thinks, it was rather amusing. Clay removed his hands from her waist as he took hold on her hand and began to lead her toward the exit. He could sense Jem's eyes glaring at him but he didn't look back. If anything, his excuse would be that they decided to head back to Lycaeus early; which was true. The other part, Jem didn't need to know. He was sure she probably didn't want to know; so let's leave it at that. He had a feeling that tonight was going to be dull, but Lexi was definitely proving him wrong. "Well... it's only been a couple of hours but I'm fairly sure I'd like to hold onto you..." Sophie giggled nervously a moment, ducking her gaze feeling a little shy all of a sudden. "I guess you're stuck with me for the rest of the evening, then." If she hadn't realised it before, Sophie was certainly realising now that she was definitely devloping a crush. She knew this Valentine's ball was a good idea and she thought she'd caught a glimpse of her sister actually dancing with the guy she'd been talking to at the bar. "Aww, Merlin...You can see me blushing underneath this thing?" Sophie prodded at her mask, chewing on her lip. "I thought it would hide that." Well this was a tad embarassing. She'd begun to realise that Rat was flirting with her and rather liked it. "So I'm perky and cheerful, am I?" Sophie grinned. "And some of us girls, go for the sweet and caring guys with interesting names..." Sophie was glad to hear that Rat had no worries about if it would be different away from the atmosphere of the ball. "A blast... You know, I think it really might be." She couldn't wait to see Rat again. Sophie laughed. "Well... thought I might as well list several of the options. We don't have to do allllll that." When he mentioned a lot of time Sophie grinned, anticipating it. "I look forward to it." Her hand had crept up to Rat's mask, paused tentatively. He might not want her to take it off. He might like to keep the aire of mystery but lucky for her he didnt. Suddenly, she found herself nervous to lift the mask. She'd never been one to pick guys purely for their looks but that didnt mean she wasn't attracted to good-looking men. At the same time personality was just as important to her and she was very taken with Rat and all she'd seen of him so far was his personality. She doubted she'd mind if he wasn't drop dead gorgeous. Very slowly, carefully and not taking her eyes off of his, Sophie slid Rat's mask up and away from his eyes, letting it sit a top his head. A slow smile spread across her face as the mask revealed more of his face and she like was she saw. He was hardly difficult on the eyes. "Hey... " Sophie murmured, letting her hand lower, fingertip tentatively brushing over Rat's cheek. "Much better. Now I can put a face to your personality." |

Arya narrowed her eyes, slightly intrigued, and then he fessed up to being with his sister and she laughed. "I don't know if this is ironic or not, but I dragged my brother here as well, but we split up because he needs to socialize more." She grinned, biting down on her lower lip. It was concern and love that made her do what she did, therefore there was no bad intentions. She shrugged, opening her mouth to speak, "Hm, well, navy and silver are my favourite colours. Four is my favourite and lucky number. I love Burberry clothes, and perfume makes me gag." That was something, though not exactly what he'd wanted. Again she was about to speak, when he mentioned nicknames and she shut her mouth and thought about it. "That sounds fun. Nickname away!" She grinned up at him. |

"Fancy? I love French food... the seafood mainly." Amanda was impressed though. Foreign restaurants were good work, she was also impressed that he could speak the language. There was always something appealing about a foreign language. This time, Amanda actually let out a small, somewhat quiet laugh - but a laugh none the less. "Bread?" She raised an eyebrow. "I think Bonjour and Au Revoir are about all I know of French... Well apart from please and thank you." Even then it was just basics picked up when she was very little from a family holiday to France one summer before her parents split up. "Can you say something to me in French?" Jayden did have a point. Amanda had only been thinking of the practical side of Sophie graduating and hopefully getting a job or being home full time. She'd have help paying the bills and keeping the house in order... and they could share the cooking. What she'd neglected to realise was that that would free up some time for herself. "Free time..." The words sounded foreign to her. "I dont think I'd know what to do with myself." She was always on the go. "You're right though. Extra training is definitely an option. Maybe I could find a job cooking or organising things..." Amanda smiled up at Jayden, realising she hadn't really talked like this to another human being (apart from her sister) in far too long. "You know... I don't usually accept invitations to dance with relative strangers like this... Much less talk this much." She had a curious smile on her face. "But somehow Im actually enjoying myself talking to you, Jayden. For once, I don't feel like trying to escape the converation. I like it..." |

At her request to say something in French, Jayden smiled. "Bonjour, comment vas-tu?" He said after a while before nodding in agreement. "Seafood is usually one of my favourites. We should go for some later if you want to that is." An invitation to go eat, was rather harmless. He was rather surprised at how nervous he was, awaiting her reply. He had never gotten nervous about something like this before, so it was definitely a new feeling. As he listened to her, his smile widened. "Well that's good I take it." He responded, and frankly he enjoyed talking to her as well. "I like this too. It's nice." As to her comment about escaping a conversation, he merely shook his head. "I'm afraid if that happens, I might have to track you down." He joked. Edited by Jayden Bentley, Feb 20 2010, 04:31 AM.

Kylar grinned as she told him about her; not exactly her name but at least it was some information. "Well if I ever need to look for you, that narrows it down a bit." Not a lot, probably half of the population? "At least I know that if I'm looking for you, all I have to do is go around spraying perfume and see who gags." He joked, he wouldn't do that. That was cruel and beside, he wasn't a big fan of perfume either. At her request of a nickname, he pondered that thought for a moment. What was a good nickname? Currently the only thing that popped into his head were lame ones, so he didn't announced them. "Well, in my opinion, since you do have a mask and all; how about superwoman?" He said with a laugh. It made sense. Edited by Kylar Vane, Feb 20 2010, 04:47 AM.

Amanda smiled back. "Je...suis....uh...bien?" she tried, eyes narrowing in concentration. I had certainly been a while since she last spoke French and she'd been about nine. The smile faltered a litte when he suggested they go and eat after, not because she didn't want to but more in surprise. She wasn't so used to guys asking her to dinner. "As in... a date?" Amanda bit her lip. She could have read the invitation completely wrong. He was probably just asking her out of politeness... maybe. But still...Well, Sophie was certainly old enough to see herself home... "Well alright then. Seafood it is. Thank you." Amanda could feel her cheeks warming up slightly. "It is nice. It's good to have someone to talk to who isn't my sister or our dogs." Amanda tilted her head to one side amused at is response to the possibility of her escaping and took a small shuffle step forward, closer. "Track me down? Now how would you go about that, then?" Although... I think I might stick around." The corners of Amanda's lips were twitching up, almost on the cusp of a laugh. Edited by Amanda Hart, Feb 20 2010, 05:33 AM.

Rat had to keep himself from laughing at her actions. “That sounds like a good thing then,” he responded. Actually, being here and not at work was always a good thing. But he could really say that hanging out with Sophia anywhere would be great. He bit his lip even more to keep from letting out any laugh, but this time he couldn’t help it. “Well, only a bit of it. But considering how you act, I can tell there has to be some,” he explained with a smile. Rat nodded at he question before raising an eyebrow to her response. Well, it seemed like both of them were flirting some. “True, but most of your list sounds fun.” His smile grew at the thought of them hanging out. It was so much different with Sophie though. Maybe because she was just a pure ball of energy. That and they was some attraction between them, though probably a small one at this point. Rat held his breath at her slow movements to take off the mask. He didn’t know her that well and sometimes girls went with the hot guys. Since then, he had never thought of himself as that, but he figured that his personality made up for it. Though, as she took it off he could tell that she was okay with what he looked like. His cheeks were a faint flush as her hand lightly brushed against it. “Now that you have seen my face. May I have the honor of seeing yours?” he asked politely. |

Well, they were certainly flirting with each other, and by now Sophie couldn't keep the flush from her cheeks, especially knowing that Rat could see her blushing. Being flushed wasn't such a bad thing was it. "Do you have any suggestions to add to that list, then...?" She quirked an eyebrow, curious of what Rat might like to do. Her movements in removing the mask were slow and gentle, the smile on her face widening as she took in the sight of his face. She wasnt disappointed in fact she was amused and comforted by the faint flush on his own cheeks as her fingers brushed his cheek. "Honour?! Rat was so polite and so sweet and Sophie smile became shy as she nodded at his request to remove her mask. "You may." |

He really had to think about that one. What was there to do? He wasn't that sociable and it was kinda hard to think. "Well, there are movies or going to watch quidditch. I have a friend who could get me some tickets to see her team play," he suggested. It would mean having to find Desiree, that would mean also seeing Terra. But, he was sure that he would enjoy hanging with them. When Sophie teased about his wording, he smiled more. Slowly, Rat reached up to slid her mask off. He kept the action slow, almost in a very hesitant way. But, it really didn't matter because Sophie was adorable looking. Very much more so than what he had thought. "Very cute," he whispered. |

"Mmmm..." she nodded. "A movie sounds like fun and I haven't see a Quidditch match in ages... Do you think your friend would mind getting us ticket? She plays? Professionally?" Sophie was impressed. She didn't know anyone famous like that, who played in proper matches. Sophie held her breath as Rat slowly lifted her mask, remaining very still..Gaze lowered. She was nervous. What if he didn't like how she looked? When she heard his whisper however, her gaze lifted to meet his. He thought she was cute. Sophie smiled, cheeks never more flushed than now and taking a deep breath, she rolled up on tip toe and lightly kissed his cheek. "You're pretty cute, yourself..." |

"So movies and quidditch then. I think she wouldn't mind, especially since she always needs a healer around her for her injuries. Yeah, DK was the head chaser for gryffindor when at our last few years. She does quidditch and rugby professionally," he explained. None of what he said was meant to be like bragging. It was actually really sincere. A praise to one of his friends that was loyal to him and beat up others that had made fun of him. Rat would never forget that Desi had done that for him. His thoughts were cut off as she kissed his cheek. If anything his cheeks were probably burning hot. Still, he had hold of her mask so he left it gently placed on the top of her head before placing his arms at his side. "Thank you." Rat was thanking her for many things. Talking to him, the compliment, and for actually hanging out with him. |

"Movies and Quidditch," Sophie nodded. She was really looking forward to hanging out with Rat some more and getting to know him a little better. She laughed. "I'm starting to see a pattern. You seem to have a lot of friends in frequent need of Healing... All accident prone?" Her eyebrows arched, impressed as he spoke of his friend. "Wow! Quidditch and Rugby? I've not seen rugby since I was little and was living in Australia." It was clear that Rat thought a lot of his friends and their achievements and Sophie thought that was great. They all sounded so close. She giggled as his cheeks heated up when she kissed his cheek, hand lifting a moment, fingers brushing again across the skin just because she wanted to. Still, she found herself offering up a shy excuse. "Sorry, lipgloss smudge..." "No need to thank me. I'm having a wonderful time," Sophie grinned, sincerely. "I'm not looking to go anywhere, except..." She bit her lip, trailing off a moment, wondering if he'd think her next question stupid, seeing as they'd only known each other a couple of hours. "Do you, maybe want to do something after this? Go somewhere..." |

Jayden grinned at her attempt to speak back to him in French. "At least you didn't make the same mistake as I did." He laughed. "One time I accidentally pronounced it wrong and the person thought I said bein which I means receiving, I think." That was of course when he first started working at the restaurant. He was new, and frankly lucky that they hired him to begin with. At her question of whether it was a date or not, Jayden found himself stuttering a bit. Since when did he stutter? "Uhm, well not really? Food is food." That was just...a definite fail. But she agreed to it anyway which was a relief. "Oh I have my ways." He replied with a smirk. "But I'll be glad if you stick around. Save me alot of trouble and time." |

Carlos took the drink from Athena with an amused expression on his face. Glamoured drinks so they could be red and pink. Well, that was certainly festive of the party hostesses. Not exactly something he would have bothered with but then again he was male and no matter how much attention he paid to details (and he did pay a lot of attention), there were just a couple of things that were too over the top of him. Making the drinks red and pink? That was probably one of them. Nevertheless, it would be pointless to try and be purposely grouchy. "Thank you, cariño," he told Athena with a smile before he took a hearty swig of it. Yep, she was right; it was the same. "Photography," he answered Hunter's question simply after putting his drink back down on the counter. Sure, he didn't really sound modest right at the moment, especially not the with the demigod comment but he really didn't consider himself an artist just yet. He took beautiful pictures, that much he could admit even to himself but the line between pretty pictures and real art was a difficult one to identify, and an even harder one to cross. Carlos laughed with amusement at Hunter's outright...basic demeanor really. Carlos appreciated the honesty and bluntness of the actions and words; hard to find someone like that in today's society of secrets and disguises. Alright, there were definitely no short supply of open people at a nightclub, but still. "I'm sure we will. Although, I'll probably be too busy yelling at people to get a move on to really sit and chat." He grinned, seeing as how he was joking. Well, partially. He wasn't necessarily rude on purpose, but...he had his moments. "A Valentine?" he repeated questioningly, laughing a bit and shaking his head before outright answering, "No, not yet. Why? You offering?" He asked teasingly with a grin before taking another sip of his drink and turning to Hunter, but just when he was about to say something cheery, and witty and slightly flirty (at least, he thought that's how it would have sounded) someone else, a very eccentric someone else had joined their conversation. Joined, of course, didn't really seem like the adequate term for the action, stampeded was much more suitable. He listened with curiosity and confusion as the woman went on to tell Hunter his socks were untied and 'compliment' the uniform. Carlos had to turn his laughter into a cough, covering his mouth with his hand and muttering a quick sorry as his lips quirked in amusement before he took another sip of his drink. After putting it down, he listened to the woman address him in return and smiled, commenting, "Actually, I work here, was really on my way out..." As if that could really save him from the situation? Hardly, but it was worth a shot. |

Okay, so she'd sort of managed to speak French. Not perfectly but it was a start. "I am recieving," Amanda actually found herself laughing slightly at the thought. "How did they react? You've improved though, since then it seems." Amanda's face fell just a little when Jayden responded that it wasn't a date, that food was just food, and quickly replaced her expression with a somewhat nonchalant one. She shrugged and nodded slightly. "Oh, of course. I just, thought I'd check... I mean we've only just met." It surprised Amanda to realise she was a little disappointed but still wanted to join Jayden out for food. "I'll stick around," she nodded, moving her hands to rest on his shoulders. "But maybe I'll leave it to you to try and track me down again after this evening... If you still want to." She quirked an eyebrow. "See if your ways work." |
