Declan found the little game amusing, particularly when she mentioned something about dark corners and other guys. Yes, it brought out the little jealous streak in him, but in a playful way because obviously that wasn't happening.

"I don't know if that's such a smart idea..." he teasingly cautioned.

"But I would love it if you were my date for the evening." As amusing as that was, he was glad when she dropped the act, returning her kiss and her greeting. "Hi. I didn't keep you waiting too long, did I?" he asked.

"And you look amazing," he added. "I love the dress...and the shoes, however impractical they are." It was just one of the many things that attracted him to Kel: she knew what she wanted and was determined to have it, even if it was stiletto heels in her 19th week of pregnancy. Besides, it wasn't like they didn't look amazing on her, as usual.

Pierce O'Brian

Pierce had come with Sam, attempting to help her set up...sort of. Honestly? He sucked at decorating. There was a reason why he came with an apartment fully furbished and anything in it that hadn't been there to begin with was from his sisters. So mostly he just chatted with the people who were working, checking the alcohol, and tried to stay out of the way as much as possible.

Then she had to greet all the people that came, and he'd gone over and talked to Kelly for a little while, but finally the party started picking up and people stopped gushing in, so he headed back over to his girlfriend. She was picking up drinks for them, but he set his to the side for a moment to draw her in closer at her kiss.

"Have I told you yet how incredibly gorgeous you look in that dress?" It really was a stunner, red, and white, and he was really enjoying the view. "Happy Valentine's Day." He'd showed up at her place earlier with his white tux in one of those black zippered things with roses and one of those yummy heart-shaped boxes of hearts, leaving the accompanying bear (it was a deal package for the three) to go to Brett. He hadn't gotten to see her in her dress until she'd been done setting things up though, and he had been properly wow'd.

"It's definitely a success. I'm actually really impressed with how many people are here; I've been trying to figure out who's who but there's only a few I can place."

Kelly couldn't help but smirk a little when Declan reacted to her comment about the cupids, a little pleased that even teasing caused him to be mildly possessive. It was just nice to clearly be wanted. "You could always follow me into one of them." She suggested, keeping up the teasing until he dropped it as well.

"No, not really. You have good timing, actually. The party's just really starting up. I've just been visiting with people. Everything at good at work?"

She was aware that he'd had to go in for an emergency and that was why they had come separately, but he was there and wasn't looking tense or worried so things must have gone alright. When he complimented her on her outfit, Kel just smiled, glancing down at her heels.

"I always wear impractical shoes." She reminded him with a laugh. "I have to be able to reach things." That was one thing; she was comfortable enough about her height to joke about it, but with the heels, she was reaching at least an average medium. "And besides, I'll take them off when I start hurting too bad."

Whereas her shoes were impractical, she wasn't. The pregnancy hadn't been the easiest on her, and the way she was unbalanced didn't make her happy, but she dealt with it just like she had dealt with her hand; worked through it until things ended up the way she wanted them.

Sam grinned at Pierce's compliment. "Yeah, you did, but I don't mind hearing it again," she said. After all, who didn't like being told they looked good? "And you don't look so bad yourself." Really, the white tux was definitely a good look for him.

"Yeah, I don't think I know most of these people' Sam agreed, looking around. "So unless Annie knows...basically England's entire Wizarding population..." She shrugged. "I guess more people found out about it than we thought, which is great." In Sam's opnion, the more the merrir. And it was a great day for something like that because it made sense. The day was all about celebrating love, so it stood to reason that having a huge party with tons of people who didn't even know each other meeting and having a good time was very appropriate for the holiday.

"And now that I've made sure everyone is having a good time, I can focus on some other things, like you," she said happily. "Dance with me?"

"I think I will follow you into one of them," Declan replied. It... reallyl didn't sound like a bad idea. After all, wasn't that what corners were made for in places like this? Perhaps not; perhaps it was just that rooms needed corners, but still... It seemed like that might just be the case.

"Sounds like I have pretty perfect timing," he said with a grin. "And yeah, everything's fine there. There was a little bit of an emergency with a woman who reacted badly to a countercurse, but we worked that out, and she's fine now. Other than that, the day was pretty long and tedious. What about your day? I'm guessing you were at work, so how did that go?"

He grinned at the comment about her shoes. "Ah but see, that would make them practical if it was just so you could reach things," he pointed out. "But either way, I like them. And if you have to take them off, I'll get you anything you need that's raised above...hm..." He looked her over, pretending to estimate her height. "...four feet?" he teased.

Pierce O'Brian

"Well I didn't know that much fabric could be so enticing." Pierce teased lightly, preening a little as she commented on his looks. He did like dressing up now and again, though primarily he liked the casual look a lot, lot better. Besides, with dogs and work where sometimes you were just out there running and fighting, white was completely illogical.

Speaking about knowing half of England just made Pierce laugh, and he suggested, "Or maybe she's just the type that wants to know everyone and therefore...asked...everyone..."

He'd met her briefly and it did seem that way; she was bubbly and excited to greet every single person who'd walked in. It was almost comical to watch her bounce around in her just as equally elaborate and fabric-heavy getup. "But a party's always better with more people." He really did believe that. Seeing all the people around him definitely made the party more fun than if he had just a few people he directly knew here and there.

"Oh. I like that plan." Pierce finished his drink and set it down, grinning at the concept of him being focused on. Dancing though? Oh yes. Dancing he could do. Taking Sam's hand and leading her away from all of the furniture to the designated dance floor, he spun her into his arms and started dancing, glad it was a song he could know, and hum along to cheerfully.

Kel laughed at Declan's instant reply about the corners, announcing, "You'll be the one shot at though. I don't need any magical arrows and more over the top hormones, kay?"

Well, it could anyone blame her? It really was insane sometimes how bipolar she felt. Right then, she was just happy. She hadn't gotten to see Declan all that much in the past couple weeks, and getting to spend a night out with him was just something that she could look forward to, and enjoy immensely. Though they really had a lot to talk about in terms of the baby and what the hell they were going to do, tonight wasn't the night. Tonight she just wanted to be with him, and enjoy their relationship again without any of the sticky, hotly-emotional complications.

"Oh work. You know. Valentine's day. I found I had no sympathy for the people we had to go talk down because they didn't have a date. Maybe I can't really relate because I have such an awesome one -" She smiled again, keeping the conversation light, "-but I had much more interesting things I would rather have been doing. Oh well though; pays the bills."

It was one of her uncaring days. She was fluctuating between polar opposites; some days it hurt to hear these people's stories and it made her emotionally drained to help them, crying for them, and some days she'd rather just have nothing to do with it all.

Slightly stunned and extremely amused laughter spilled from her lips once more as he suggested that, without her heels, Kel could only reach to about four feet. Not insulted in the slightest, she tapped her lips for a moment and sighed, "Well I guess that really, really sucks for you then, since I can't reach."

Emma raised an eyebrow over her lemonade as Abi mentioned Lynx's speciality... or rather hobbie it always seemed. "I'm pretty sure by the end of the night, several couples will be made, compliments of Evil Lynx." She grinned, turned to glanced at the couple Abi and Lynx had been looking at. "Those two for instance. An Evil Lynx nudge might just seal the deal."

When Abi squee'd at the sight of Emma's shoe's though, Emma's grin faltered to a look of confusion. "What shoes am I wearing? Last I remember I was still in my slippers... I think. I can't remember the last time I was able to see my feet, let alone was able to reach them myself." She couldn't remember changing out of her slippers before she left the house. "Kevin must have put these on without my knowing..."

"Nothing wrong with not having siblings. Merlin knows there are days I wish I was an only child." Amanda muttered, thinking of the times Amanda broke the household rules she'd set down, or kept asking for money or favors... or their sisterly arguments. "I guess friends are good substitutes to siblings."

Jayden complimented her dancing (thanks to her sister) and Amanda almost wanted to chastise herself for fact that she was actually blushing. Only subtly but the pink tinge was certainly there. She never blushed. It was new to her. "Uh... thank you..." She found herself murmuring a curious smile just touching the corner of her lips.

He spun her, laughing and Amanda was taken a little by surprise, letting out a breath, feet unsteady but was soon righted as his hands rested on her waist. "You're not a bad dancer," she pointed out, tentatively lifting her hands to drape over his shoulders. She'd dated before just a couple of times - briefly - so standing so close to a guy wasn't unfamiliar to her - though it had been a while. But dancing... Amanda couldn't remember the last time she'd danced with a guy that wasn't her father.

"Once in a moment? I think myself privillaged then." Her smile widened a little as Jayden grinned. She found she liked the sound of his laugh and the warmth of his smile but she was still holding back. Amanda always held back, she could never open up completely and relax.

She was curious about where he worked and so felt silent, moving slowly with music, watching Jayden as he told her about his work. "A restaurant?" She didnt care if it was magical or not. A resaurant meant food and cooking. "Any particular theme to the establishment? Italian? Pub grub?" She could definitely understand the draw of a Muggle job if it meant more money exchanging to Wizarding currency.

Amanda nodded. "I've taken on a few Muggle jobs. I know what you mean. I'm... actually between jobs at the moment." She reddened. "I didnt go in for any extra training after I graduated and looking after Sophie, I had to go straight into work. Waitressing, working in stores, babysitting, that sort of thing." She realy needed to find a job. Knowing Sophie it'd be a while before she set down to finding work. "Jobs seem to get pulled out from under me when Sophie returned for holidays and I had to take time off to look after her... but now she'd gradiated."

"I'll remember that."

Dancing apparently required concentration when he was making sure he didn't step on Anna's feet. As she was banning hermiting though he laughed.

"I think that's already been done and it still didn't help," he told her. "Though I'll try to less often."

He had made a couple promises as far as that went so he probably needed to work on that. At the moment though he was content being there at the ball and being able to have been there with Anna. He hadn't seen her in what felt like ages and admittedly he had missed her.

"I did get you a present you know. It's just at the house."

Forgetfulness was apparently another trait to work on.

Clay Myers

Clay was never the one to be embarraseed, even if people were staring at Lexi and him. It just add to the amusement. As she slid her arms around his neck, Clay placed his hands on her waist in return. "Well, let's see we can either dance again, go back to Lycaeus and have some fun. I recall there's a pool there now, or we can picked up from where we last started." He smirked as he kissed her before pulling back and grinning.

Truthfully, he prefered the last two options; no surprise there.

Approaching a group of three near the bar, she smiled. Carlie had since lost Eamonn in the crowd and she was going to make use of the time tat she wasn't being watched. When she reached them, she straightened out the front of her dress which was all bearing, and smiled at them until her eyes made it to the pretty boy with the black hair. She looked down momentarily and furrowed her brow. "Oh my, it seems that your socks are untied, Love." She sounded worried. "You might want to retie them before you trip..." She had no idea how but she kept a straight face.

Looking at the blonde girl in the short dress, she merely sniffed in recognition. "Nice dress." Was all she said, not that she liked it. And lastly her eyes landed on the man with the burly hair. "Awww, you're not having fun until you join in..." She pointed out with a smile.

Getting only a couple minutes to finish her drink, she happily followed Gabe onto the dance floor, placing her glass on the passing tray. When he tugged her closer, she growled happily, he knew what he wanted. She closed her eyes as he kissed below her ear and shook her head slightly. "Its nothing. Just silly little thoughts." She said to Gabe.

Linking her hands behind Gabe's neck, she smiled at him. "I'll need your help with the dress later." She offered, not exactly expecting him to pass up such an opportunity.

To be completely honest, Lexi had no idea what it was that she was doing. Well, she knew she was flirting with and randomly kissing someone she barely knew; it was more the why. That she had no idea about. In a way, she really didn't mind. She was having fun, and that was all she really wanted. It wasn't like it'd go any further than just having a little fun. She wasn't looking for serious, and it was obvious that he wasn't either. But it was fun. She liked fun.

When Clay relayed their options, she fought another smirk. She was doing a lot of that when he was around. "How about... the last two options?" she suggested with a grin. "We can pick up where we left off... in the pool?" It sounded like a perfectly awesome idea to her.

"I'd forgive you if you stepped on my feet if you'd look at my face."

Anna said, bemused. He laughed and she forgot what she'd said the minute before, to shake her head and laugh as well. Hermiting was trademark Dante, just as everyone had their own things, he was known for Hermiting. Not necessarily a bad thing, nor a good one.

"Does adding to a promise increase the pressure to actually follow through with it?"

She had no clue, she didn't promise much herself. Except for, well, the obvious. With his mention of a gift she shrugged.

"If you say so." And then smiled again.

"See? You learn new things every day," Sam replied. "I'm just glad it's doing its job." Not that that was why she had actually bought the dress, but she certainly liked that it was appreciated. Normally red wasn't her thing: she generally found it to come off like "trying too hard to be sexy," but it was Valentine's Day, and as the host of the ball for the holiday, she figured she should wear something festive. That left pink or red, pretty much, and she was not about to go for pink. Some girls liked it; she just didn't.

She nodded about Pierce's assessment of Annie. "She does seem to want to know everyone." That, in her book, was a good thing. It was, after all, how they met and became friends. "I'll have to ask her when I see her later." Actually, that would really amuse her if Annie did know everyone.

She gladly followed Pierce to the dance floor, glad that she liked the song that was playing. He seemed to like it too, humming along. "You're a pretty good dancer," she commented. "Of course, I feel like I may have learned that during that costume party, but... I was more focused on other things that night," she said with a grin.

Knowing it was all in good humour, Milo shrugged and laughed at Sadie's response. He glanced over at Arya and the man that she was dancing with and then looked at Sadie. "Quick judgment? I'm still deciding, you know, as the honorary older brother." Except, well, Arya had technically been born first. Semantics.

With Sadie's reply he shook his head, "You actually left work and I came to a party. Score for the Eppes?" He was grinning, now, arms crossed. "I think it does, we've been distant enough for a catch-up to count. You're not going to spin me and shove me into the crowd, 'cause she already tried that."

He'd found his way to the bar, then. It was a good thing there was one, too.

"Absolutely." Pierce agreed, being extremely careful not to step on the dress he was complimenting. He was a pretty good dancer, but it just had a long train he had to be mindful about it.

Pierce didn't know a thing about Sam and Annie's relationship, how they met or how they became friends or whatnot, but she seemed like a nice girl. Really though, he'd rather focus on his girlfriend. The song was one that he knew, one that he could see she liked, which made things that much more fun. They'd come onto the dance floor when the song was nearly over though, and it switched to a slower one; he simply adjusted by pulling her closer, and laughing at her suggestion.

"Oh, believe me. I was too." Good, good memories. "But thanks."

Trying to play it cool, had never been one of Sophie's strong points. She had a tendency to wear her heart on her sleeve and so subtly flirting wasn't easy for her. She flushed when Rat stated he liked her too and smiled back stepping that tiny bit closer.

Sophie laughed as he spoke. "Lucy ducks? I can keep a hold of you as well, if you want?" She bit her lip, smiling up at him. Merlin, she was sure she must sound corny. She could wait until the masks came off.

"Sometimes those chicky ones are fun. I mean every girl secretly likes a bad boy," she pointed out with a raised eyebrow. "Just like I'm sure every guy has a secret liking for the innocent, library type of girl.... possbily." Thos books were good but they werent all that she read. "I like other stuff too, like adventure or mystery."

When Rat took her up on her offer, Sophie beamed. "Sure you wont get sick of me? I mean it's one thing hanging out with someone at a party but back in the real world... sometimes it's jsut not the same." She really hoped that wouldn't be the case.

"Theres loads we could do. Walking... I've got our family dogs to walk anyway. Swimming... im sure we could find a lake, sightseeing, shopping, cinema...and Im rambling again," instead of blushing she laughed a little giddily. Perhaps a result of the wine or how much she was enjoying herself.

"Oi, you!" Sophie giggled, wacking Rat lightly on the arm. "I like your company as well, wish I could see what you looked like though." She was back to chewing on her bottom lip, hand lifting tentatively towards Rat's mask, hovering just centimeters awat from it. "May I...?"

Gabe smirked at the sound of his wife's growl, laughing lightly against her skin, kissing her. She smelt wonderful. Her words however made him pause, letting out a breath. "Your thoughts aren't silly. I love hearing your thoughts, however little."

His ears pricking up at the thought of getting Leslie out of that dress, he grinned, hands trailing over the curves of her body, ignoring the rest of the room. "Does it have to be later?" Alright, so he was a typical red-blooded male when it came to his wife. Ever since their honeymoon, he really could hardly keep his hands off of her and it was Valentine's day after all.
