{made so that we aren't cluttering the club and can move this into History} For the night, the color scheme of the club had been changed. All wood had been glamoured a shiny, black lacquer, and the lights faded to a dim pink. Deep, elegant scarlets, midnight blacks, and pearly whites adored the floors, tables, seats, lighting, even ceilings. All around, lightly glowing candles were floating in rose-petal strewn bowls filled with clear, cool water. Even the drinks were in crystal and red, pink, or clear. Food is also available off of a small dessert menu placed on the tables and at the bar, a selection of chocolate covered fruit, cupcakes, and candy hearts being the one juvenile addition to the sophisticated look of the rest of the room. Right now, soft music is playing, but as the party begins to pick up, it'll become louder, flashing strobe lights ready to dance to the beat of the music. For those who had forgotten their masks, there was a small booth off to the side full of them. After all, dress code said; formal, with mask. Beware of darkened corners; little cupids flutter their wings in anticipation of a visitor, bows at the ready. Don't worry, the effects only last a few minutes, but a few minutes is all it takes sometimes... |

Anastasia had been running around for the past hour adjusting things here and there, most likely to the amusement - or annoyance - of the staff the venue had chosen for the night. She had been working for the past month or so with her new friend to plan this, and she was just, positively excited. Only after she was certain that everything was perfect did she go in to change and get ready. Because she was hosting, and it was a masquerade ball, Anna had chosen a scarlet gown that offset her porcelain skin quite nicely. She would admit that it was a little over-the-top, a little more fabric and elaborateness than anyone would willingly choose to wear to something similar, but she liked it. It was a gorgeous, silky gown, and the gloves just completed her outfit. Her hair was in curls, thick, tight ringlets that was completely opposite from her normal pin-straight locks. No marking, identifying jewelry adored her, and her makeup was dramatic, blood red lips showing under the mask she carefully attached over her face. Ready, Annie headed out into the ball room and waited to greet people, lips quirked up in excitement. |

Athena had been sitting on the bar, watching the two women bustle around to fix decorations with a fair amount of amusement. She'd chosen to work tonight, though she couldn't really call it working. For the first part of the night, she was going to help out at the bar, she decided. Then once things started getting picked up, she would visit around the floor, making sure as many people as possible were happy. That was her job, after all. Making sure everyone was having a good time. Due to her loose "job" that night, she was wearing a uniform of shiny purple, her own mask being fitted on just minutes previous. Seeing that one of the hostesses was putting herself in place to greet, Athena swung around so that she was behind the bar, busying herself with making sure she knew where everything was. Carlie was almost bouncing when Eamonn asked her to come with him to this shindig. This was her first big outing since she was discharged, and her energy level was proof. She held his hand as they walked into the club, seeing as her dress didn't allow for her to get particularly close to anyone. With her mask already on her face, she laughed as her friend's mask was sitting on top of his head. Sliding it down, she tied the straps so that he wouldn't take it off again. She took a moment to smoothe his wavy hair, always surprised at how soft it actually was. |

When Selena entered the club with Lucan and Evelynn, she felt nostalgic. The whole ‘masquerade ball’ event was almost like when she went to that costume party back when she first came to England. The setting is definitely much different and it was actually quite nice. It seemed to have its own thing. But with the decorations to set the spirit of Valentine's Day was still new to her. Yeah, she heard of it, read about. Celebrated it? Nope. She didn't really mind though, she didn't try to bring the holiday alive back in Italy. She's not much of a romantic anyways. But...the one thing that itch her was about that Valentine's Day was about love and it just didn’t feel right without Antonio. She monthly shook the thought because she promise herself that she would be happy and not bring down the mood like she always does. She looked down at her dress and smile faintly at the trouble she had with both Evelynn and Logan about picking a dress. She felt uncomfortable with her scars showing to the world but the place was dark so maybe people won't notice. She looked over at the happy couple and smiled brightly at the sight of them holding hands like it was instinct. Her rather and his girlfriend were another reason why she wanted to be happy because they went through the mess of Selena finding Lucan, Evelynn learning the truth, and not to mention the four day 'weekend' Lucan spent in that place. They deserve a break. She adjusted her mask, which again kindly picked by Logan and turned to them and asked, "Liking the place so far?" |

Usually the idea of a party like this didn't sound like that great of an idea. This time, however, she was excited and had ended up asking Rose to help her find a dress. After searching for one during the afternoon (and leaving babysitting to Rose who said she didn't want to go) she had finally decided on a pink one with a mask to match. What helped her good mood about it was the fact she was going with Callum. So she was pretty sure it would actually prove to be a good party. It was actually habit when she turned to him to fix his collar and she smiled sheepishly. |

Lucan heard about the Valentine's Day ball from Mari, rather excitedly, but at first he didn't wanted to go. He was a little hesitant about if the place really did exist because of a few weeks ago at that mansion. But Mari told him that the club was real and she knew the owners really well. He trusted Mari and he decided to go. Naturally he told Evelynn about it, being that she is the most excited about any holiday, and immediately said yes. Then the both of them asked Selena who declined, saying that she would feel like a third wheel and she didn't do those kinds of stuff. You would think that they would leave her alone and accept her answer but no, they called for reinforcement. Logan. In the end it ended up Selena being 'kidnapped' by Evelynn and Logan while he was there has a body guard to make sure Selena didn't leave. It was really amusing. It was not amusing that he had to buy a suit for the party. But Evelynn was persuasive, very persuasive. Since Evelynn had her fun helping, really just through any suit to him so he could try on, he picked his own mask. He thought it was funny and it met the requirement for the party. He turned towards Selena, still holding Evelynn's hand and replied back, "So far so good. They really put it out for this party." While he said that he took a good look around the place. It was huge. |

Evelynn was practically acting like kid in a candy store. If it wasn't for Lucan's hand in hers, she would find the people who decorated the place and tell them how great it looked. They really got into the spirit and that makes Evelynn extremely happy. Not many people appreciate holidays when they grow up but Evelynn wasn't like them. That why she likes to announce and decorates every time a holiday comes, which explains her decorated office in Mungos. Evelynn wore, of course, a red dress to embrace the theme of the party. That and she really wanted to wear that dress. She went almost crazy trying to find a mask because she didn't wanted a plain one or a simple pretty mask. She was so happy when she found the mask she wanted. It is amazing and she loved the feathers and she didn't care if it looked ridiculous to other people. She heard Selena asking them if they like the place. Her answer? "Of course, It is simply amazing!" she squealed and then continued, "I love it so much and the decorations are gorgeous. It's exactly how I would decorate it. These hostesses really did a great job." Can you tell that she was decorated? It's just like painting but without the paper and brush and charcoal and-well you get the idea. |

Cal was grinning the moment he stepped foot into the club. He'd managed to rope Jem into going with him and they were actually going out for once. He was only ever tempted to leave the manor when he was with Jem, which was probably unhealthy - and Malius liked to point out that fact often. But it would change, hopefully, once he and Jem started training. Or, well, that was Cal's hope. He laughed when he turned to fix his tie and looked at her, "I'm thinking pink is your colour." Cal himself was wearing a regular tux with a silver mask. He'd run out the house without one, and was lucky enough to find one lying around Escape. He wasn't even sure how well they went together, but he was wearing it nonetheless. |

[far too lazy to post Em leaving the hospital, so let's just say she did, and she's not in two places at once.] Parties were fun. When Em had heard about the party, there was no way she was going to pass it up. And sure, the last party had been somewhat disastrous, yet amusing and very eventful, she really doubted she'd end up making out with anyone at this party, and seriously doubted hungry vampires would be let loose to feast on the silly, unsuspecting humans. And if they did? Em would just have to kick some vampire ass. Or find a nice place to hide, because fighting in a dress was stupid. Em's dress was a pretty pink, her hair was down, and she'd done her make up nicely. She was positively excited about the night, because it was more fun than sitting around eating cookies all day. Although that was fun, too. But, this was a lot more healthy. Kinda. Moving on. She'd gone rather simple with her mask because masks were quite irritating. But while they were irritating, she didn't recognize anyone because of them, so maybe she'd meet new and amusing people? She could only hope. |

When Kel had first recieved the invitation, she'd been extremely excited. Since the incident that'd messed up her hand, she hadn't gone out. There had been a lot of work to get done, and ever since she had given into trying to keep their child, she'd been doubling up on work. First, so that she could have a proper maternity leave without stressing out about what she was leaving behind - though she probably would end up doing that anyways - and second, for a more personal reason. The bigger she was getting - and bloody hell, she was huge already, something she didn't remember her mom or Sam doing and couldn't seem to prevent no matter how much she watched what she ate and exercised - the harder it was to do things. Clean, cook, stand for long periods of time. Finishing work helped make her feel like she was still useful and still worth something. At the same time though, after her and Declan's original apologizes for their high-emotion blowups at the hospital, they'd seemed to give each other some space. Therefore getting to go out and just dance with him, and party on Valentine's Day sounded fun. She hadn't had a proper Valentine's Day in years. Problem was, when she started getting into it, she couldn't find clothes. Maternity clothes were just. not. cute. Or, they were made for extremely tall people, of which she was not. It was extremely frustrating to try to find something that fit her, while looking at least decent. She wasn't trying to look sexy; she'd given up on that ages ago. It was pretty hard to feel sexy while lugging around a third more than your normal weight, after all. Eventually she gave up and decided on a simple, flowing black dress. Her mask was tucked carefully into her pulled back hair. Declan had to work right before the ball was supposed to start, so Kelly agreed to meet him there. Arriving, she took a cursory glance around, but as she had expected to arrive first, she found a table and sunk into it gratefully. Just because she was pregnant didn't mean she wasn't going to wear heels, of course. |

[&& this is like, the day after the current Lyci rp, so Lexi's not in two places either.] When Lexi had first heard about the Valentine's Day Ball, she jumped at the opportunity. She and parties almost just... went together. It wasn't a party without her there. Actually, that was a complete lie, but come on, she contributed some fun at least. And this was a masquerade ball, so she could dress up and have fun and meet lots of people. Meeting people was fun. Lexi's dress was a strapless, red one. It was cute. Her mask was just a simple, red one. Nothing too extravagant. She didn't need to have puffy things coming off her face to have fun, she figured. She got there relatively early, as it was just filling in. Oh well. It should be fun. She stepped off to the side to just wait and watch for more people to enter. |

When Kiera heard there was a party she had to go, sure she didn't exactly like dressing up but hey, she hadn't been out for a while and it was a perfect time to meet some new people. After tons of shopping she finally decided on a floor length dress and a mask. Her hair was curled and down with light makeup. Kiera walked in and saw that the place was beautifully set up. Kiera saw some girl standing off to the side, and though she didn't often talk to people she didn't know, that was sort of the point of this whole thing, wasn't it? So, she headed off in the direction of that girl (Emery) and smiled. "Hey," she said to her, giving a little wave. "I'm Kiera." |

"Thanks." Jem left his tie alone then, figuring after fixing it before they left and now just out of habit was enough. She had wanted to get out of the house more and in a way where she wasn't partaking in some crazy idea her sister's had, or to get them something for that very thing. It wasn't like they would be speaking to her though sooner or later, but at least that was later. Taking Cal's hand she swung theirs as she glanced around a moment before looking back at him. "Are you excited? I'm actually excited for once." It definitely showed in her voice but also in the fact she was smiling. |

Martin walked in and glanced around. Then smiled to himself. These kinds of balls were completely his enviroment. Everyone dressed up and acting all formal. At least for now. You didn`t need to be a genius to know how most of the parties ended. Wearing a rather different outfit outfit than most of the men inside he felt somehow refreshing. The same old tuxedos were quite boring and his own wasn`t looking that nice anymore, too. He should have gone and bought himself a new one, but he had been preoccupied with his work. The wizarding world seemed to be getting rather screwed up lately and yet he enjoyed being... needed. Everyone were wearing a mask, making it a bit difficult to Martin. He wasn`t sure whom, he knew and whom he didn`t. Rearraging his simple mask mask he moved towards one extremely hot looking girl in a bright pink dress who was talking with some other girl (Emery and Kiera). Some people and their clothes these days... “So, what do you reckon?“ he spoke, smiling a bit, “Will people end up in nearby hotel rooms again?“ |

Em watched the people enter carefully, trying not to mentally critique the way they were dressed. After all, it was a ball, and it was more about fun than dressing perfectly, although dressing perfectly was always nice. But hey, she didn't need to worry about that all the time. What she needed to worry about was finding amusing people to talk to. That was precisely when some girl named Kiera walked up to her. Em smiled and waved in return. Well, even if her hair had a few split ends, it'd still be fine to talk to her. She guessed. "Hey," she responded. That was also when some guy headed their way. At his words? Em almost groaned. She really did not need any of that happening. "Probably," she said. "I give it an hour, tops, then we'll start to notice the crowd getting very small..." Maybe she'd stay away from the alcohol. |

Cal smiled at Jem, nodding, "Yeah, I'm actually excited about this as well." Cal had spent the majority of the week bored in between Escape, Jem, Daph, and Emma. Whenever he got too bored he started planning ways to bother Malius, and at one point he'd magically glued everything in his office shut, and had heard Malius' frustration through the floor. Besides that, everything was just kind of in a static. He caught her other hand when she swung them, "Thirsty, hungry, or want to dance?" It was early yet, but there was music playing and a dancefloor, Cal didn't know many other people there, and he was quite content just spending his time with Jordan. |

Kiera was talking to the girl when somebody else walked up deside them. She turned to look at him. "Hi!" Kiera said smiling, she figured she might as well meet as any people as she can. "Most likely, I haven't really been to a party here before, but I have heard about them. People tend to get pretty crazy." Hell if Kiera wasn't taken she'd probably be one of the people in a hotel room with a bunch of guys. The guys were definetly hot enough. But she was going to remain loyal to Emmett, she wasn't going to be like Seth. |

Gabrielle wasn't one to miss out on parties. Social events were her thing, even if it meant dressing up with silly masks. It could be fun, after all, and she could meet fun people. And after all the work she'd done at her shop that week, she deserved a night out. And what better way to spend a night out than at such a party? Exactly. Her dress was short, strapless, and blue. Her hair was done with just a slight wave to it, and she'd applied a decent amount of make up. Nothing over the top. Her mask was probably the only thing actually overdone about her entire ensemble. Was it necessary? No, but it was pretty, so who cared? Gabrielle didn't recognize anyone with their masks on, so she decided to be relatively social and headed over to a woman - Kelly - who was sitting at a table. "Hey," she said, a small smile on her lips. "Think it'll be a fun party?" |

Martin smiled. Well, he had successfully stumbled upon two normal girls. That was a success. He really was afraid for one moment that one of the girls would turn out to be his mother and then he would have to hear a lecture about ‘approaching guests politely’ or ‘offering them a drink’. Wait. That he could still do. From the passing bartender he took three glasses of champagne and gave them to the girls in front of him, not taking no for an answer. ”That only means that we won`t have to be crowded in this place.” he pointed out. He leaned in closer to both of them, as before he had been keeping a polite distance and now he pretended to be telling them a secret. ”I`d stay away from the dark corners, though. I`ve heard they have cupids.” he shuddered slightly. Exactly all what he needed was to lose his head for some random person for a couple of minutes. That would make his parents so proud. As the other girl spoke, Martin smiled at her. ”Never been to a party? That sounds horrible. You should hear some of the stories…” but that was all what he was going to say. The image of the Minister of Magic dancing on a table was still stuck in his head, even if it happened almost twenty years ago. His parents did the mistake of taking him to such balls…. He raised his glass up. ”To the fact that people will have headaches tomorrow!” he announced, before taking a sip. |
