![]() The only reason this office manages to remain clean and orderly is because Mateo routinely does a clean-up spell to collect all the plates, glasses, papers, and articles of clothing that may be strewn about in an un-orderly manner. With the windows being entirely fake and magic-driven, and the personal style not exactly suiting him as he would rather have bean bag chairs and monkey-bars, he makes do with what he has. In one of the corners lies his acoustic guitar so he may be able to quickly reach it and start practicing in his free time, or when he gets tired of doing work. |

"No, no, no, and did I mention, no?" It wasn't that he was intentionally trying to be pessimistic, but an idea like that just didn't sit well with him from the beginning. If that's the initial reaction, that one could only imagine how ghastly a second look warranted. Especially when the idea came from the mind of his twin brother. His brother, alike in almost every way except in one thing- Mateo was clearly learning how to turn on his brain on command; Miguel had yet to learn the talent. Mateo rejected ideas for the club mostly because they, as a practically social elite nightclub, tended to be...above certain types of entertainment. Almost. Like jell-o wrestling...Mateo couldn't deny the appeal of such an event; it would be a visual feast in the very least but it also wasn't up to their level. Yes, they had performers with basically hundred percent creative license to do as they wished, yes they encouraged the use of dancing poles -especially for beginners who want to try it out for the first time- but there was a fine line, and it was difficult to spot but way too easy to cross. A swimming pool would only bring trouble. A lot of sexy and attractive people in swimsuits, but another kind of suit as well- lawsuits. An experience they've had the pleasure of not partaking in- and that was the intended plan for many years to plan. Nightclubs usually fell into only two categories- those which last for a few years, and those that make it on for the decades. There was no guessing which one they were striving for. |

"You might have briefly touched upon it, yes," Miguel jokingly answered Mateo's rhetorical answer. It was a shocker really, sometimes, how unbelievable Mateo was. Coming in to his office to check on whether or not he was working on the employee schedule. Miguel had said that he would get it done right? And he would; he still had another two hours until his brother needed them (well required them; he didn't actually need them until the next morning). So Miguel of course, took it upon himself to practice his guitar playing for a few minutes, or a half hour, same difference. To top it all off, his idea of adding a floor with a swimming pool was immediately shot down. Without even a second thought on the matter? No, that simply couldn't do. "It would be fun! It would be exciting! It would be us," he explained, putting the guitar down in its corner before he stood to be at Mateo's eye-level. "Plus it would...expand our client base!" he added enthusiastically, speaking his brother's business lingo that he had a favor towards when they were at work. "Come on, where's your sense of adventure, of fun?" Miguel thought that a pool would be a wonderful idea. Then again, he'd also been itching to go to the beach and surf but he always found himself deterred in some way by a commitment or distraction or something along those lines. |

It was damn near impossible to reason with his brother, particularly when he had his sights set on something. No matter how many logical and even more logical reasons he presented, they were all just shut down immediately because the idea would be cool. Yes, Mateo agreed it would be an amazing idea but if he just did things on whims, if they did things on whims then they wouldn't be at this stage in their career now would they? Of course not, he just had to remain the voice of reason there. It was a difficult thing to do when his brother was telling him to lighten up. "No, Miguel, bring me a more stable idea and we'll see," he told him before dropping off some files on Miguel's desk and walking out of his office. Did that mean he was through with that subject? Of course not, because Miguel followed him immediately out. |

Sometimes, he wondered why he and Mateo were twins. Then of course, he looked in the mirror and was reminded. He also had to remind himself constantly that Mateo did have a tendency to switch between his business mode and his normal mode. Miguel tended to dislike business-Mateo, because he talked down to him, as well as make him seem like he didn't give a shit about his job. Miguel did give a shit, thank you very much. He followed Miguel out of his office, running a bit so he could pass him, and then turned around to walk backwards. "C'mon, be a little more fun. Like back before you used to wear ties," he joked, tugging on Mateo's tie- an unnecessary thing really. Ties- he only wore them to weddings and funerals and he tended to want to avoid the latter for obvious reasons. "I still maintain that if we gave this a shot, it could work." |
