About the character

Appearance: Jonathan is a relatively tall man, standing at 5’11” with a well developed musculature, do to his practice of martial arts, paying no special attention to any specific muscle. He used to be bulkier but with age, he’s beginning to lose some tone (and now that I’ve brought it up, he wants to work on it more extensively). He has light brown hair, almost blonde looking at times and light blue eyes. He has a very square-shaped face and a straight, almost pointed nose. He has three frown lines on his forehead mostly noticeable when he smiles.

Strengths: Jonathan is intelligent, and he uses said intelligence to benefit him in every which way; to keep his real intentions a secret from the Ministry, to talk his way out of sticky situations or to simply gain someone’s respect. Another of his strengths lies in his will-power, gambling aside, his constant use of mind over matter lets him achieve certain things on the simple principle of having to do it. If he believes he has to do so, and believes that there’s no other option, then there is simply no other option.

Weaknesses: Jonathan is a slave to his habit, and that is gambling. Unlike his siblings, Jonathan doesn’t gamble in card games as often as he places bets in other things such as quidditch games or boxing matches. Another weakness is his inability to be impartial. He sees only one side of things, the side he agrees with and disregards everything else as being wrong. Also, he tends to be hot tempered and that more than often leaves him in more trouble than not.

Personality: (1 paragraph+) Jonathan can first be described as being of a very secretive disposition (everyone knows how much I suffered trying to get any piece of information out of him). Something that is of course, necessary in order to do his job successfully and it is something that he does very well. He isn’t entirely too friendly, but he can be quite kind but more when it comes to his family and close friends. Nevertheless, he is cruel and heartless when it comes to aspects to which he has to follow the Dark Lord’s orders; Jonathan is devoted to him.

He is also very witty when he does speak, but speaks of nothing of importance. His words tends to be meaningful and joking, with just a tad bit of sarcasm dripping from them. Even so, he enjoys time spent joking and not taking much seriously every once in a while; he calls it his break. Most of his ‘break times’ are spent either alone, or with a couple of his acquaintances seeing as how he’s not very good at making friends, nor does he really want them.

Hobbies: Jonathan likes to play cards as is common with almost all Arlettes. His other hobbies include reading, swimming and practicing his martial arts, his favorite being Tae Kwan Do.
Pet: None
Wand: 10 and ¾, Willow wood, runespoor fang
School: Hogwarts
House: Slytherin
Short History of The Character: (minimum 2 paragraphs)
Jonathan Arlette was born in a small hospital in Liverpool to mother Patricia Arlette and father Henry Stone. The reason why all their children adopted Patricia’s last name is because she married Henry more for convenience than anything else; she wanted to try and live a relatively normal lifestyle, and her pride didn’t allow her to give up her last name; Henry didn’t mind because he was blinded by love for her.

Jonathan was the first born and naturally, spoiled accordingly. His parents dragged him to every party and gathering (that was appropriate of course) just to basically show him off. Every single move he made was documented on photo and video, as well as being praised for it.

Jonathan was a social toddler and enjoyed running around their home with his many cousins and playing all kinds of games. He especially partook in pretending to play cards. Naturally, seeing as how it was a common occurrence for the family to get together Saturday nights and have a game night, Jonathan took a liking to the game.

When his brother Gavin was born, Jonathan was at first jealous. The attention that was so readily given to him, he now had to share with another person. In due time, he came around, figuring out that he could play with Gavin, and he quickly began to share. By the time Tina herself was born, he had adopted the role of protective brother easily.

When he was seven years old, he was sleeping in his bed when he heard a weird noise coming from downstairs. He got out of bed to investigate and in the middle of the stairs stopped, and watched through the railing as his mom and dad argued as silently as they could. He saw his mother’s outfit covered in blood and was afraid, he grew even more afraid, however, when his dad pointed at the door and told her to leave and never come back. Awestruck, he watched his mom walk out the door. Jonathan walked right back up the stairs and got into bed. The next day, he pretended to believe his dad when he told them that his mom had died at work.

From that moment on, Jonathan became gradually more reserved and at times cold, but even more protective of his siblings. He blamed his father entirely for his mother leaving, because he was the one who asked her to, nay told her to, after all.

In Hogwarts, he was a bit surprised he was placed in Slytherin, but didn’t think much about it because he knew that it wasn’t uncommon in his mom’s side of the family. He was quiet, a bit unresponsive but pretty smart. Even still, he made ‘friends’ instantly, merely taking a back seat and watching as he saw them bully and mess with other kids yet it was him who managed to talk them all out of trouble, or somehow put the blame on others entirely; by the end of Hogwarts he hadn’t even gotten one detention. Needless to say, he was used to being secretive and lying from an early age. Also in Hogwarts, he grew fond of placing bets and holding bets in Quidditch matches, duels, and even gobstone games.

After Hogwarts, he was aware on what most of his ‘friends’ wanted to do; join the Death Eaters. Jonathan, however, knew he had a couple of things to take care of before he did so. He wanted to be useful, wanted to be better than the average person trying to join; he got a job at the Ministry of Magic in the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts office, primarily because of their placement near the Auror offices and the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.

While in the Ministry, he tried to collect information on his mother who was a hit wizard, and discovered that they had no records of Patricia Arlette, which led to his investigation of trying to find her. Using his great deal of connections, he soon found her and learned that she was actually a hired assassin, who left them to give them a better life. Jonathan did not understand at all, told her it was too late, and left simply like that.

Soon after, he joined the Death Eaters, bringing with him the trust that came with working for the Ministry for well over four years. He has now been a Death Eater for nearly ten years and he stills keeps in touch with his mother, and his siblings, with whom he maintains a normal but slowly decaying relationship with.
