The Basics: Name: Jackson Carmichael Hawks. Nickname: Jack. Birthdate: July 6th 1987. Birthplace: Muggle hospital in Essex. Work/Schooling: Hogwarts/DE/Night shift at a local muggle restaurant as a janitor basically. Family: Half Blood. Mother: Ashely Banks. Father: Daniel North. Siblings: Georgia Hawks (step-sister), Anna Rubin (step-sister), Gryphin Hawks (step-brother), Kathleen Hawks (step-mother). Extended Family: None significant. Home: The flat he shared with Beth and Leah. About the character Appearance: Jack has messy brown-blond hair that he keeps short. He doesn't style it a certain way, just lets it go how it wants. Typically he's just jeans and t-shirts, but he'll dress up when he absolutely has to. He's 5'7 but he claims to be 5'8 because apparently an 'inch makes a difference'. He has the dark mark on his forearm but usually that's covered up with a jacket; jackets are one staple in his wardrobe. Strengths: Jack's learned to be an independent person from an early age when he had to help his dad out a lot, and he's naturally social. He hasn't really ever hit a shy phase and he doesn't count on ever having that issue. He's best at defensive spells, but he could do better on it with some. He's trusting but he's also good at picking up on when something's wrong. He's also gotten pretty good at getting out of sticky situations considering the amount he gets himself into. Weaknesses: Jack's a little full of himself sometimes and he doesn't always jump to defend a friend. His risk taking nature tends to get him in trouble as does his lack of following the rules; him being arrested by the muggle police a couple times for various things proves it. When it comes to domestic things like cooking, cleaning and such, he can't cook and he'd rather lounge on the couch than clean up after himself so as independent as he is in some things, he also lacks in others; to him if he can use magic then why not use it for everything? Personality: (1 paragraph+) Jack likes to joke around a lot and be the one to lighten up a situation. He's a risk taker to a point and he doesn't like to follow rules. He'll try anything new for the most part, and he's a rather social person. He likes to hang out at clubs to meet new people or just have a drink depending on what he feels like that day. He can be a bit full of himself at times, but he knows it and he'll feel bad about it later if he thinks about it. It's not that he isn't loyal to his friends, but he also doesn't see the point in defending people who can obviously take care of themselves. Jack's also one to speak before he thinks and he doesn't care one bit what people think about him. Hobbies: Hanging out at the clubs, meeting new people, archery (he's not very good at it but it was one of those try it once things and he ended up liking it). Pet: Just an average barn owl for letters and he didn't see the sense in naming it. Gigi tends to call it Benedict though or Benny so he doesn't really care. Wand: 12 inch Mahogany. School: Hogwarts. House: Slytherin. Short History of The Character: (minimum 2 paragraphs) Jackson was born to Daniel and Ashely Banks. At the time it was a functional and happy family. His mother Ashely works at the Ministry of Magic in the misuse of muggle artifacts department, while Daniel is a Daily Prophet writer. Both of them tried to even out the hours they worked in order to take care of Jack, and it was their jobs that actually resulted in the decision only to have one child. They lived in London primarily and had help from Ashley's mother when things ever got tough, but they managed pretty well. It wasn't until Jack was ten that the family started having issues. Daniel and Ashely started fighting more and they all spent less and less time together. When Jack turned eleven his parents finally decided on a divorce and that Jack would go to live with Daniel as Ashley's hours wouldn't allow her time to take care of her son on her own. During the time that Jack lived with his father in their own flat in Oxford, he spent weekends, when they were free, with his mother. Holidays have also been split depending on whose busy and who isn't. These days gifts get sent via mail instead of personal visits. It was two years after the divorce that Daniel met Kathleen while he was interviewing people for a new article. At first they didn't talk for a week after but then ran into each other again and hit it off. When they did get married Jack wasn't thrilled by the idea at all. He was moved from where it was familiar and where his friends were to a house outside of London where he had to adjust to having a brother and a baby sister. While Daniel and Kathleen tried to make the adjustment easy, it was anything but. For a while Jack argued to go live with his mother, but he finally gave up on the idea. After a while him and Gryphin became friends and then were close enough to safely call themselves brother's. Daniel had no intention of his children ever being involved with the mess of Auror's and Death-Eater's, but Kathleen raised her kids according to how her ex-husband would have wanted it. With Phin's influences and the years spent at the home, Jack ended up joining when Phin did. During school he made sure to look after Gigi as did Phin, but he's always been very protective of her. The summer's he sometimes spent half with Ashely and half with the Hawks. For a while it was a simple schedule that he got used to and adjusted to. School had its hard times but it went by better than he expected. He tried to get good marks but he also was under the assumption that it hardly mattered if he wasn't going to be getting a ligament job to begin with. One summer though Phin's Uncle and Aunt came to the house from the states wanting Gigi to live with them after they heard the boys had joined the death-eaters. They obviously didn't want their granddaughter getting involved in that mess. Daniel and Kathleen obviously argued about it and Jack even wanted Gigi to stay, but in the end she was taken to live with them. Jack's kept in touch though by letters with her and is one the only people who does know anything that happened to her while she was gone from the time she was 10 till now. One of the people he met during school was Leah Hart. She became one of his friends and hung out with her a lot. Even Phin became friends with her and they usually hung around the common room during school and then went out when they were home for the summer's. When they were all seventeen though the whole friendship changed. Phin and Jack found a book of different rituals and, as stupid teenagers go, wanted to give it a try. Thing was it called for a sacrifice. They hadn't actually meant to harm Leah in any way, it was just to scare her and to test the spell out. Phin, however, held Leah under the water too long and they assumed they killed her but hadn't. Not completely anyways thanks to the ritual. She's not exactly a ghost but she's not exactly alive either. Despite it Jack still stays in touch and they even share a flat with Bethany currently. Phin and Jack however stopped speaking after that incident and haven't since. He only stays in touch with Gigi, his father, and Ashely. Kathleen may have been nice to him and attempted to raise him, but he never grew to like her all that much. Currently he's living with his two friends and keeping a secret night shift at a restaurant doing the cleaning for some extra cash. Primary Character: Ella Cox. |
