It hadn't taken a moment for Gabe to apparate the three of them to St. Mungo's, arriving in the lobby, sending Ama and Shawn up to the maternity ward with an Acolyte to get Ama settled in and changed into a hospital robe. Meanwhile, he popped up to his room to change into his Healer's robes and sign Amaris in, as well as find her files. Heading up to the sixth floor, Gabe knocked on the door to her room and entered. "How're you doing? Settled in?" He crossed the room to her bedside and set about doing the general checks of vitals and such. "Have you calmed down now? Your daughter's just down the corridor in the baby intensive care unit. She's in great hands. They're trying to help breath easier." He gave her a supportive smile. "Do you have any questions?" |

Amaris had been sobbing, screaming really as she had begged the woman to give her her daughter back before she felt another sting on her shoulder once more and she felt herself get rapidly calmer. Everything started appearing in focus once more. She wasn't in her old bedroom in Spain, she was in a ballroom. It was Healer Gabriel not Healer Riveras who was next to her and it was Shawn, not Brad who was trying to calm her down. She blinked in so much confusion, look around the room and taking everything in. She didn't have much time to do so because then she was apparated out an into a more familiar environment. Mungo's. She didn't say anything, didn't think she could really, as she was handled and changed and placed in a room on a bed. She was still trying to process everything. What...had happened? She had seen it, it had been so real! The fire. . .she could feel the fire almost burn her skin as she had tried to get closer, she could smell the smoke and feel her bedsheets tear as she struggled to get out of them. But then...she wasn't there? What was wrong? Still looking ahead, in a sort of far off universe really, she only turned her head when there came a knock on the door. Ama followed Gabriel's movement with her eyes only and nodded absently at his questions as she saw him get closer and proceed to start a check-up. It wasn't until he mentioned her daughter out loud that she became responsive. "So. . .she's going to be okay? There really was . . .no fire?" |

He was hardly surprised to see Ama quiet and distant when he entered, merely nodding at his questions. She'd just gone through labor, just found out her daughter was potentially ill and noted she hadn't cried. She'd had some sort of frantic episode and been given a calming draught. It was not wonder she wasn't particularly talkative. "Well, your healthy, and fine after the labor. No adverse affects from the injection that little girl gave you." The mention of her baby though did have her react and Gabe gave her a small smile. "I don't see why not. I mean as I said, we have Healers looking after her at the moment. Helping to strengthen her. She'll have to stay in for observation for a bit... But she's doing well. She's just very small." He picked up her chart and made a few notes. He wanted to get to the bottom of that outburst she had earlier. "There was no fire, Amaris. You imagined that, but... you also got quite irrate. You were imagining a lot of things actually. Like a whole different personality." Another look through his notes and Gabe had a very good assumption of what Amaris could be suffering from. "Have you ever been tested for Disorganised Schizophrenia?" |

Amaris didn't care about her own health at the moment; she was fine, she could breathe properly without the help of any type of potion or machinery. Her daughter, however, couldn't and it was she for whom Amaris was worried about. She wanted to blame herself, she had been stupid during her pregnancy. She hadn't watched what she ate, she didn't follow up as frequently as recommended with doctors, and to top it all off she had spent a month before she found out she was pregnant drinking as normally as she would have. Amaris considered it a miracle Holly Rae was even alive; cursing her stupidity internally. Amaris breathed in relieved when Gabriel said Holly Rae was going to be fine. She was just very small, okay well size doesn't matter, what mattered was that she was alive and she was going to get better. Amaris didn't usually place much trust in hospitals in general but...they were definitely proving themselves. Maybe they weren't even half as bad as she thought they were. Or maybe that was just the calming draught talking. Amaris frowned at the mention of her imagining the fire, imagining everything. That didn't make sense to her, and at first she tried to deny it, telling them that they were the ones lying but why would they. She didn't understand, until the words 'Disorganized Schizophrenia' were spoken. She snapped her head up, eyes wide for a second before she nodded slowly, "Yes; I was nineteen and living in Spain and my mother had me evaluated because she thought promiscuity was a symptom of something." Who knew she was actually kind of correct? "And I was diagnosed but I convinced the Healer not to put it on my medical record because otherwise I would have never been able to be an auror. But I took the medicine and I went to counseling. I stopped taking them when I was pregnant the first time. It was a difficult time for me afterwards but I got better, I was doing fine without them and I moved back here and...well I thought I was cured." |

Gabe was a little surpirsed that Amaris had known about this and hadn't thought to say anything much less had it taken off her medical records. He could understand her reasons, though if she was still regularly on her medication and closely monitored he thought there might still be a chance of her staying in the Auror department. "You stopped the medicine but did you continue with the couscelling?" He was sure that this was what she had now, that it had just re emerged again because she'd stopped with the medication. "I'm afraid to say that it's back again and we'll have to put it on you record but I can put you back on the medication and recommend a good counscellor for you." He made a note on her chart. "That's what would have caused you to hallucinate about the fire and believe your daughter was dead. It would ahve also cause your hostile reaction earlier." Gabe replaced the chart at the end of the hospital bed. "You might still be able to keeo your job if you keep taking the medication and it might be safer for your baby as well." He realised then mentioning the baby that Amaris hadn't yet held her. "I can bring your daughter through for a bit if you want but only a short visit. We're still treating her. Have you through of a name yet?" He wasnt her regular healer so he didn't know. |

Amaris took in a deep breath when she had finished with her story. Particularly because she hadn't told anybody the story. At all. Apart from the healer in Spain, nobody, until now, knew she had schizophrenia. "I continued with the counseling right up until I moved back here two years ago." she answered, nodding along as she spoke. It wasn't really sinking in that she was schizophrenic again. That had been so long ago, it almost seemed like a distant haunting, not able to reach her but it did. She had to go back on those medications that made her drowsy and dizzy and boring. Then again boring was what she really needed. Hostile reaction? She couldn't even remember much about that part; she was feisty in general. Was that the schizophrenia as well? Did she fool around and drink and fight back because there was something wrong with her? As soon as they take away what is wrong with the medication and counseling...who would she be? What part of her was right and merited being there? She was confused and shook her head. It was for the best. Amaris wouldn't even imagine what would have happened if she would have been in her flat alone with her daughters and she started one of her episodes. All thoughts about that vanished, however, when Gabriel said she could see her daughter. She nodded her head and beamed, "Yes, please, thank you. Her name is Holly Rae. Holly Rae Graft." Her and Shawn hadn't decided on what would happen to the last name but Amaris, while completely unconventional, was traditional on some things; and this was one of them. |

"Well it seems that in those two years you weren't in counscelling and were off the medication the schitzophrenia has taken a hold again." Not the sort of news you wanted to tell a new mother, already the mother of one. "I'd still suggest going back in the meds and going to weekly if not fornightly conscelling sessions. Just to get it back under control." He smiled at the eagerness Amaris showed at the mention of bringing her daughter in to see her. Gabe had popped by the intensive care unit on his way to see Amaris and she seemed to be doing better than when she was first delivered. "Holly-Rae. That's a beautful name. I'll just go and get her then." Slipping out of the room, he headed for the baby intensive care unit and returned a moment later pushing Holly-Rae's hospital cot. "Now we'll know what name to put on her hospital braclet." Reaching down into the cot, Gabe picked her up gently and made his way over to Amaris' bedside, handing little Hoyy-Rae over. "Amaris, meet your daughter." |

Amaris should have known that she wasn't really cured and she was naive for believing so. It sort of fell into the category of 'what else could go wrong'? Answer was everything. She had thought she may have just caught a break but it turned out to be just another bullet in the gun out to shoot her. Alright, that was a horrible analogy considering her recent medical history. Maybe she should stay away from muggle weapons for a long time. "I'll do whatever you think is best," she informed nodding her head. Medications, counseling, sure as long as she was sane enough to take care of her daughters. Amaris nodded, not being able to stop smiling now that she was about to see Holly-Rae. After the stressful weekend, and even more stressful last couple of hours she just wanted Holly Rae in her hands. She didn't know exactly how much time passed before Gabriel walked back in with Holly Rae she just knew that it felt like eternity. She wasn't a very patient person to begin with, and the circumstances it was just made even more unbearable. But eventually he did come back, wheeling in a cot carrying Holly Rae. Amaris sat up straighter on her bed and immediately outstretched her hands to receive her. Once Holly Rae was in her arms, Amaris felt her eyes well up. It hadn't seemed so real as it was feeling like right now. Amaris took in a deep breath as she saw her daughter, held her so gingerly in her arms. "Hi, baby, I'm your mommy" she greeted in a quiet voice, her voice breaking slightly at the end with a small laugh of giddiness as she took everything in. "She's so tiny," she noted, a hint of awe in her voice. She felt so fragile, and looked so helpless and even still she hadn't seen a being more beautiful in her life. Every problem she had gone through, every argument and doubt and question and general drama didn't seem important. Nothing seemed more important than both Holly Rae and Annabelle waiting for her at home. |

The amount of priorities on Shawn's mind had alarmingly multiplied in the last hour. He'd kept an eye on Anna with Haley, ensuring that Haley made it back to George (both of whom had stayed with Anna, as far as he was aware). He'd followed Leslie to make sure Holly-Rae was okay, as well, before even beginning to seek out Anna once more, and after a few words with her, had taken a deep breath and headed to the room he knew was Amaris's. As he walked up to the door, Gabriel was walking in as well, wheeling in Holly-Rae and he paused to stand there, breathing. He had an odd expression on his face, ninety-eight percent exhaustion, one percent thrill, and one percent numbness. He just wanted to see his daughter, at this point. He was aware, that without these ties, were it not for Holly-Rae, he'd have been on another continent right now. He wasn't. He stayed. He came to the door, and he softly stuck his head in, knocking on the frame of the door and looking at Amaris with the strange expression on his face and just softened. However he felt about her at that moment, it had perfectly melted away. He didn't want to think about Courtney. He didn't want to think about the truth of their situation. He didn't want to think about learning who had shot her. He didn't want to think about finding out that once again, he was the back up, the second choice, the decent One Night Stand and nothing more. All he wanted to do was sit there with them both, and marvel at the miracle it was that Holly-Rae was alive. "May I come in?" He asked softly. |

Amaris had sincerely never known the overall and complete joy of holding your newly born baby in your arms after the labor. That opportunity had been viciously taken from her during her pregnancy with Annabelle but she wasn't thinking too much on that. If anything, she was making up for that lost time with Annabelle with Holly-Rae. When there came a knock on the door, Amaris reluctantly pulled her gaze away from the beautiful, and so tiny, baby girl in her arms to see who it was. Her reaction was complex. She was still overwhelmingly happy that Holly Rae was alive and that she was going to be okay; however, seeing Shawn brought about guilt once more; guilt at being a total bitch to him and keeping the truth. She was also feeling nervous about him actually knowing the truth, and what he would actually...do with it. She couldn't ask him to keep the secret at his own expense, but she also wasn't about to turn herself in for treason or conspiracy or...being stupid. Although she could plead insanity, but that would just end up with her being here. In Mungos. Away from her daughters. She couldn't do that. The complexity of her emotions didn't stop there, oh no, that would have been too simple. She was also worried about him. Everything that had happened this weekend must have turned his world upside down, inside out, the polarity reversed, just a big mess. And she was worried about what he could be going through. She, after all, cared about him just not in the way he wanted. But she also knew that trying to talk to him about that, when everything was still so raw, was not the way to go. "Of course," she answered a couple of seconds later, nodding her head softly before letting her gaze drop once again to Holly-Rae. She knew what she had to do in a few moments, but she was still so reluctant to let go or share which was odd because she had no problems sharing. She placed a gentle, barely-there kiss on Holly-Rae's forehead and waited until Shawn had come near the bed to look up at him and ask, "Do you want to hold her?" She even extended her arms just the slightest bit to show he could pick her up. |

Shawn almost winced, seeing the flash of concern and worry the crawled its way over Amaris's face. He didn't like feeling like a basket-case, or being aware that he looked as he felt; empty. He hated feeling this way. He was numb. He was unaware of half of his surroundings. He just didn't have any purpose or understanding at that moment beyond the fact that his daughter was sitting there. Coming in, he nodded softly, murmuring, "Thanks." Lifting his tiny, gorgeous little girl into his arms, he paused, trying to remember what his sister had said about holding a baby. Courtney had said-- He still couldn't think about Courtney. Focusing on George's counsel instead, he cradled her head, supporting her as best he knew how and rocking her gently in his arms. "Hi baby." His voice sounded weak, but flushed with more love than he honestly knew. His expression was beginning to change, flooded as it was with love for the newborn. "Hi. You're a fighter, aren't you?" Merlin, he was so bad at this. The circumstances of Holly-Rae's birth not withstanding however, he still cast his glance up at Amaris as her murmured, "Just like your mother." He offered Amaris the softest of smiles, before turning his gaze back down to Holly-Rae, still marveling at how ... tiny and beautiful she could be. He didn't say anything else, having no clue where to start, but lightly rocked their daughter in his arms, making a tiny dance with her, carefully and deliberately, before settling on the end of the bed where Ama sat so she could see her too. |
