"Oh, I don't doubt that." He laughed, this was being before he took the sip of his coffee and before he just flat out disagreed with Kerri. Of course, he really hadn't expected for her to just sit and take the comment without any input even if that seemed to be the most common response (silence) to those types of short and blunt statements. He enjoyed her varied response from the norm. "I'm sure you're not wrong often, you'll get over it." He winked at her, trying to ease her blushing- kind of failing. "Alright then. I can go get my book and a child right now if you so require." He merely grinned and didn't even respond to the nod (well a small smile slipped out), yes he had seen it but he wouldn't make himself out to be some sort of creep by saying or doing the wrong thing. |

Kerri leaned forward to peek into Franco's cup to see if he needed more coffee. "You better not doubt it, maybe my next article will be about the man who followed me home, and the protective measures women should take against stalkers... would you like anything else? I am sure I can scare up some sort of cake..." She laughed, standing up. She disappeared into the kitchen for a moment, when she came back, she had the coffee pot, milk for herself, sugar and a plate of cookies and sat it down on the coffee table. "Help yourself. And you want to just up and get a copy of your book and a child. What, do you have some sort of stock of children ready and waiting for the times you have to prove you are quite the child-friendly man?" She inquired, her eyebrows raising again. |

"So you threaten to make me look bad in the public eye and then you offer me. . .cake?" He laughed a bit more loudly than before at that fact alone. He seemed to be constantly surprised the longer he stayed there. But, as usual, always pleasantly so. It wasn't hard to have fun and just sit back and relax around Kerri, no matter how odd that seemed. No matter that he had only met her such a short time ago. When she came bearing more coffee and cookies, Franco said a small thank you and refilled his cup, adding some sugar again, and ate a cookie. After he swallowed, he replied "No, close. I have an older brother with four children and he happens to have them all for the week." His brother had three divorces, fourth time's the charm? |

When Franco put into perspective what she just asked, she couldn't help but laugh with him. "You make it sound like it hasn't happened to you before. And what can I say, I am clearly unique on my preferences with regards to the treatment of male guests..." She smiled innocently... well as much as she could get away with. "Not that I have many." She felt like clarifying that, though it may not have been a great thing to divulge. Yeah, you're sitting there with a guy, and the last thing you need is for him to know you've never had a boyfriend, or any sort of guy in your house because your standoffishness is generally a turn off. "Well, how about we skip the kids this time, I am still interested in this book though. But I promise you that you can one day prove to me how immature, I mean child-friendly you are." She giggled, she didn't think he was immature, nor did she think playing with kids were. She grimaced slightly, four kids.... ouch, that was lots. She wasn't even thinking about one. She knew she wouldn't be like her parents, but with her schedule, she was afraid of neglecting them for a different reason. "Must be nice to be an uncle. Its a different kind of responsibility from being a parent." This much she knew, she had only a couple aunts and one uncle, and they were often more mature than her own parents. |

"No, actually I haven't gone through an experience like that before. Except for right now, so I thank you for that." He raised his coffee cup to her and slightly inclined his head in some sort of bow, all the while grinning before he took a sip of his coffee. It really was unique way to treat guests, as she had previously said. Her latter comment, however, caught him a bit by surprise. "Is that so? I would have thought the opposite. But if you prefer to look at shirtless stable boys. . ." He grinned and chuckled a bit to show he was joking, as usual. He was apparently in a joking manner today. "Me? Immature?" He raised an eyebrow and continued, "I have no idea what you're talking about." He grinned and took a bite of another cookie. Usually that particular sentence was always interrupted. He was a bit surprised it wasn't, it just seemed to be interrupted everytime, it was odd to have finished it. "Being an uncle is great. You always get to be the good guy, the favorite one. Not much disciplining required, although with my brother's kids sometimes it's necessary. Don't want them to end up too much like their father." He chuckled, only partially joking about that one. He'd rather his niece and nephews not take up illegal trading of contraband. |

Franco was something, he always had something to say and that impressed her, because really, it wasn't easy to find someone with just as much to say as she did. "Who said I prefer the stable boy? I might have found something better..." She said, playfully sticking her tongue out at him. Shaking her head and laughing. "I am sure you don't..." she managed. "Sounds like fun..." She said, before continuing. "I sort of look forward to being an aunt one day, but I hope my brother chooses to not follow in my parents' footsteps. They have not been the greatest role models." She confided, but she had a feeling his brother's children were in the same boat with their father. |

"Something better or someone?" He further inquired of her, teasing of course. He just wanted to see if he could get her to admit it out loud, he was just too amused at the current conversation. It was nice to talk to someone other than Bradley every now and again. He hoped to call Kerri a friend soon, he was really enjoying spending time with her. "It really is loads of fun." He assured, nodding his head. Children were completely amazing, even more amazing when they weren't your own. All the fun of children without the difficulties and such. At her disclosure of her parents, he couldn't help but to be interested and just a bit concerned, "How so?" He had only deducted that she had been ignored by them but besides that he didn't know anything. |

Kerrighan coughed and that cough sounded something similar to the word "someone". She blushed lightly at admiting it, but she felt it was appropriate to at least give him some closure. She was interested in his antics, he was easy going and she needed to be around someone like him since she was too high strung. She smiled, he really did like kids, that was a good trait, Kerri had no idea what she was like with kids, maybe she was good; maybe she was terrible... But when he asked how come her parents weren't good influences (she didn't consider them bad influences), she played with the hem of her shirt for a few moments. "My mum was 16 when she had me... Up until I was four, my grandparents raised me, and after my parents took me away, it went down hill. I have a strained relationship with my father at best, and I don't talk to my mother if I can help it. That might also be why she is always eager to not be home for holidays, but I get by." She said, hoping that Franco wouldn't pity her, she hated when people pittied her. She was okay being alone, and she had a funny feeling that when Franco left, she'd learn what loneliness was like. After all, when you had no one to miss, you couldn't be lonely. Now she was maknig a friend, and when he left, she would miss him until they met up again. The thought to try and push him away did start to occur, but she knew that would make it worse. "I lived with my mother's parents since I was fifteen, and this past March I moved in here. Once I was away from my parents and their drama, I was fine." She shrugged, it really wasn't a huge deal. |

Franco laughed and grinned in amusement. "Clever." He mentioned absently. He could have never for the life of him thought that she would have given him that response. More blushing and stuttering? Now that was to be expected, but cleverness. . . well he guessed he should have probably been expected as well. Especially since he'd only known Kerri for an hour or more. "Ah." Franco nodded in understanding. "My parents were teenagers when they had Alejandro too- that's my oldest brother, the one with the kids- so I can understand the effects of that." That's really almost all that he had to say. He didn't want to meddle in her business, he had done enough of that already. "Well, at least you turned out good. You could have been some sort of serial killer, or the like." |

She shook her head with a smile. "Now don't let your ego get the best of you now..." She warned him, though she knew what wouldn't stop him. Listening to Franco tell her how his brother was subjected to teenage parents, her expression didn't change. "But did your parents try? I mean, did they actually put in the effort to raise him? Like don't get me wrong, some teenage parents, I am sure they try and do their best, but a lot fall short, and the rest don't even try. My parents thought that for me to like them they had to give me everything I wanted, let me eat junk, stay up late.... I was a chubby kid. I just wanted a stable life. But I see you grew up well and okay. So I think your parents tried with your oldest brother. Sure parents hone their technique with the more kids they have, but you'll always be able to tell when people are siblings. I am sure that whatever your brother does that isn't condoned, itsn't because of your parent's inability to parent, just the choices he has made in his life." Kerri told Franco, she knew from experience what it was like with parents who were young, and she would put a thousand galleons (like she had it....) on Franco's parents being good parents with Alejandro from day 1. |

"Too late, my head is already big enough as it is." He joked, laughing a bit at that himself. So maybe he was only half-way joking, he did sometimes let praises and compliments get the best of him. Sometimes he needed to be brought back down to earth by an ill-meant comment, an insult, or just a simple jab to his ego. That usually set things fairly straight. Though he had to admit, no one usually dared to think, let alone try to insult- right. Ego inflation, he had to control that. "They tried, yes." He confirmed with a small nod of his head. His childhood was anything but bad, his parents loved each other, still do. Financial difficulties aside, it was probably the best way it could have turned out. Granted, he would have preferred to not have his brother working in the Black Market, wizarding and muggle alike, but it could have been worse. No one turned out to be a murderer. Well, except him. "Yes, you're right. Alejandro has always been a . . . difficult being." To say the very least. He finished with his coffee and cookies and noticed the time, it was getting rather late. "It's getting late, I should probably go now." If he was proper, which he was despite everything else. But he wanted to keep in touch with Kerri, so he rummaged around in his pockets for a stray piece of paper. Once he found one, he pulled a pen out of his back pocket and wrote the address to his flat there and handed the piece of paper to her. "You'll come visit?" He asked her, a bit unsure about whether or not that was the right thing to do. Edited by Franco Cisinerros, Oct 4 2009, 04:11 PM.

There was something about a guy that could be funny but be able to take himself easily as well. "Yes. I can tell, its pretty big." She kept a straight face this time, rather than smile, even if she was joking. It was okay for his ego to flare a little, most men tended to puff out their chests whenever they could. "See? I can tell. But tell your parents that they needed to do something about that ego of yours... only thing I would fix." She winked, then took the paper he gave her with the address. "Yeah, of course. Just tell me when its okay so I'm not intruding on you and your... girlfriend?" She guessed, someone who looked like Franco and had his charm had to be taken, although he was being very playful. |

"Hey now, it used to be bigger, I consider this an improvement" He explained, very seriously nodding his head, only breaking out into a small grin after a few moments of fake severity. He really couldn't stay serious for very long whenever he was in a good mood, and he definitely was in a very good mood. Whether it be the coffee, the sugar overload, the nice company or a combination of all of them, he sincerely was. He hadn't been like that in a long time. "I'll be sure to tell them." He jokingly assured her, because he honestly was already constantly getting berated by his mother so he wouldn't further put himself under her wrath. "Oh, I don't have a girlfriend. I live with my roommate, Bradley. He won't mind, if he's even there." He chuckled, where had Brad been recently anyway? Franco stood up from the couch and continued, "So I do get the privilege to be walked to the door?" He asked with a small grin. He really was in a very good mood. |

Kerri stood up as well and stuck his address in her pocket. "I would love to come see your place, since you've seen half of mine..." She told him, he hadn't seen upstairs, but that was okay, her room was a disaster zone and the bathroom could look better. "Ah, well that's too bad." She said absently and grabbed her jacket from the coat hanger and slipped on her shoes. "Well I will have to meet this Bradley one day. But I will do you one better, I will walk you out to the gate since I have a little anti-apparition ward inside the gate." She smiled, grabbing her wand and sticking it in her jacket pocket. |

"It's currently a pig-sty, but whenever it's clean it's not half bad." An underestimation, he loved his flat. He had picked it out, and laid out the plan for decorating it himself. Not that she was going to let him know that of course. Too much over inflated ego for one day, he thought. He was good, he had a lot of fun talking to her. Now it was time to go home and deflate said ego. A chat with Brad would do that, if he was there. Franco pulled on his shoes as well, "I think you'll like him. He's more charming than I am." And that was the complete truth. Franco tended to be awkward and sort of a social retard most of the time. "Oh well thank you so much." He grinned as he waited for Kerri to lead them out of her house. |

Smiling, Kerri understood how the house thing worked, her house was nice and she liked it, but when it was messy, it was horrible to be there. "Well, better make sure its clean when I come, I don't want to be walking into a messy bachelor pad." She told him with a wink. "Now, now, I will be the judge on the charm area, but I don't think he will be more charming than you." She told him as she opened the door and walked out into the night. "I was told by my gran that you see your guest out, and really you can't get out until you're to the gate." She said, looking over at Franco, with whom she was almost level in height. "I don't know when, but there is a really good muggle coffee shop in town, if you want to go one day..." She felt like putting it out there. As they approached the gate, she sat down on the beam, unlatching the gate and put her hands in her lap. |

"Nothing that a wave of a wand wouldn't fix." And yes he had just admitted to being good at house cleaning spells but he would have died at home if he didn't. His brothers? About as messy as their pet pig if not worse. Brad? If he knew how to scourgify things it would be too much. His mother? Not the best homemaker in the world, she hadn't been prepared for it, but she tried and she did get good at it. Franco was just a smidge better. Just a tiny bit though. "Fair enough. Although, I thought you were done inflating my ego." He chuckled lightly as he followed Kerri closely behind, catching up and walking next to her after she opened the door and walked out. When they reached the gate, he was already nodding in agreement even before she had finished her sentence, "I would be delighted." He informed her with a small grin before taking her hand and kissing the back of it. "It was a pleasure to meet you Kerri. Keep in touch." He grinned and stepped back enough to be out of the ward and waved goodbye before he disapparated. |

Kerri smiled and watched Franco closely as he took her hand. When he kissed it, her heart fluttered slightly, she watched from the gate and waved, waiting until he left before she went inside. Tonight was something different and she was eager to go for coffee now, but maybe one night she would surprise him by showing up at his flat and taking him to the shop. Going up slowly into the house, she got inspiration for a new article, one which will probably help her out a bit. |

A small and tawny owl swooped in, carrying a letter and dropping it on the kitchen table. Dear Kerri, As surprised as I was by your letter, and highly amused as well, I would love to have coffee with you this Monday. Forgive me for restating but by your letter it seemed as though you weren't entirely lucid when writing it. And if you were I apologize for thinking the opposite. Have a Happy Christmas and I'll see you soon, Franco |

Kerrighan had spent the day alone at home, a crappy little gift that she was sure her mother spent no thought on showed up first thing in the morning by an owl, and a note saying they weren't going to be home (again, no surprise). It was a little grooming set for herself. Brushes, combs, mirrors, hairties, and other little things that she had multitudes of. Other than the gifts and cards that came from her family, there was one that showed up from Franco. When she opened it, she smiled and put it on. It was such a beautiful thought. However thinking of the sender, she paled. She remembered flashes of words like pick up lines, and something about coffee. "Oh no, oh no, oh no, oh no!" She couldn't believe that she got tipsy and owled someone, how embarassing was that?! When she recovered slightly she sighed and looked at the few things, she shoved them back under her tiny tree and decided to go back to bed. |
