Kel had, for once, decided to stick back and just listen. It was a little bit of a shock, to see the situation they had arrived at, but before she could even gather her exhausted mind to help, it was over, and people were yelling and being total bitches and Kel just walked over and sat down against the wall, resting her face in her hands, listening, but not exerting herself. Well, until people were being switched back. Then, she looking around thoroughly once again, looking for her own body. It wasn't hopefully; she'd been looking every ten minutes since she'd arrived in the circular room. Leslie just wasn't around, and it was pissing her off. She wasnted her own body back, damnit. She wanted her own life and her own relationships and her own bed and her own activities and her kitty... And Leslie couldn't be bothered to be here when the letter clearly stated 'want your body back?'. Yes, she bloody wanted her body back. But now people were talking about leaving to go to some ritual thing to break it up and save someone, people were freaking out, and Kel just sighed, trying not to fall asleep. |

Brandin had remained quiet while Catalina had explained, moving closer towards her and leaning against the wall. It was with a blank face and a curious mind as always that he listened, but a third pang of unidentifiable emotion hit him when he heard she'd been controlled. Imperiused, forced to follow orders against her will, against her family, against her husband...no wonder she was furious. It was unnameable, what he was feeling. Mostly because he was feeling. He leaned against the wall, processing, nodding at her, having jumped when she was tied up, and frozen when she was untied. He stayed silent while they argued, thinking it over in his mind and looking at Jace. He could understand the emotion; he wouldn't want Catalina anywhere near that ritual if it was him...but it wasn't him, and it was a bloody emotion. No, he more disagreed with the logic that seemed to be holding that Aurors were going to solve it. Absurd. Hearing about Caleb was another, smaller, pang and the slightest of a frown crossed his face. Whatever his brother-in-law was under, he swallowed and simply thought he'd be able to fix it. It's not immodesty when it's the truth...right? Well, he'd never cared about modesty in the first place. Looking at Catalina, he stepped over to her as she finished, noting that she was shivering, wiping tears away from her eyes...she wasn't the only one of them struggling with emotions. When the hell had that happened to them? He stood near her, ignoring everyone else in the room shouting instructions and regrets, arguing and assigning blame, and simply, quietly, pulled Catalina into a hug when she'd finished. She was using a Dark Arts object; that had side effects. It wasn't something one could easily do, go around and swap someone's soul. He was very, very curious about how that worked, actually... And it was her brother. He knew how much she cared about Caleb, and he knew that really, the last bloody thing she needed right now was to fight with Jana and argue and bicker and never get there, wherever it was. No wonder she was fighting emotions. No wonder he was. No wonder, and that was why Brandin simply was holding her for a second. Two. Just a moment, no longer. No sappiness, no overly ridiculous gestures... Just a simple hug and a nod. He didn't say anything; it went without saying that he would go with them, and he had already been replaced in his own body. No, the only thing he was paying attention to, was figuring out how to insure that he and Catalina maintained possession of that knife. |

Cat had just ignored Jana's comment about having the perfect opportunity to kill her. The thought hadn't even crossed her mind, actually. She was too concerned with the fact that she had to use the knife again, and she was still too preoccupied thinking about Caleb. To Juls, she only said, "All right, then. Let's go. But I'm telling you: we'll need to bring her," she added, gesturing again towards Julie. "Or we won't even be let near it." And then, of course, someone else started yelling at her. Calling her manipulative, saying that she was only trying to get them to help her. Frustrated, although it was normally something she would just take into stride, she retorted, "I didn't say you don't have a choice. You can stay here, you can go home, you can do whatever you want. What I said was that I didn't want to waste time switching people back before I go - with anyone else who would like to come - get my brother and who knows who else is there away from... this ritual. Whatever it is." She shrugged, the more casual gesture oddly contrasting her biting tone. "And no, I am not asking you to help me. I'm asking you to help my brother and whomever else is in that damn ritual, because I'm guessing it won't be just Caleb. Who knows: it could be one of your loved ones. But no, you don't have to help. All I'm asking that you do is wait," she said. "And that is not unreasonable." Cat was startled out of her rant, though, when she felt arms wrap around her, just for a moment. Brandin. She blinked once, surprised by the gesture, and altogether too caught off guard, although she struggled to remain her composure. Chin up, back straight. It was a strange feeling - and not one she really disliked - to have him there for her, to offer that one, simple gesture of comfort. It was appreciated, and in return she gave him a small smile. She knew that Brandin, like herself, was probably trying to discern the best possible outcome for all of this, and she couldn't say she wasn't thinking about the same thing. It was impossible not to. Her best possible outcome, however, was to get the other woman and leave, no matter how many people came with her. |

Jace had clearly stated how he felt about things, and didn't feel the need to reestablish that. However, the longer he listened, the more resigned he came to it. There was something he could get in return, yes? Cat said Julie was under something. Clearly, no one was going to just hand him the cure for it. "If? And I seriously mean this-" Jace started, raising his eyebrows. "If we are going to do this, I have conditions. One? If Andre is there? He's mine. Two? I'm not just letting you disappear off with her. I'm coming. Three? If she gets hurt, there's going to be retaliation. And lastly?" He looked at Brandin, who'd come over just moments before, "You are going to fix this. I know you have the material for it, at least." Material for a lot of things, actually. That was a little disturbing, but he didn't judge him for it. It was useful, in this case. "So?" |

An uneasy feeling entered Kel was Cat said there possibly could be more than just Caleb there. She wasn't going to jump to conclusions, that wouldn't help her, but Leslie had been pretty damn pissed to be in Kel's body and...as far as Kel knew, would have jumped on the chance to get her own back. So why wasn't she there? Apparently one of the possibilities was this stupid ritual. So she stood up, and ignoring everyone who was demanding to be changed, she spoke only to the the six people who had been talking about leaving. Out of them, one was imperiused, two were clearly nmot going to be much help, one was...under something, and one was pretty unwilling to help. Just, wonderful. "So what's the game plan? Clearly we can't just all show up in a group, but I don't think that one is going to let her out of his reach. So what are we going to do?" Kel had nodded her head towards Jace and Julie when she'd brought him up in the sentence, crossing her arms, her wand in her hand tightly. |

Brandin noted the simple smile she gave in return and nodded, standing back with his hands in his pocket. She could handle those ranting at her, he was quite sure. So he continued to stand still in thought, trying to just pass off whatever it was he was feeling. He was feeling. That wasn't even accurate. He simply pushed it away a moment later with an irksome shake of his head, the tiny smile mirrored on his face without his knowledge. When he was addressed by Jace, however a tiny grin spread across his face. He had the means to attempt such a thing, absolutely, but promising results would be ridiculous at this stage. He still just grinned, and nodded an affirmative towards Jason. Clearly, the man had seen the inside of his house, knew quite a bit of what he had (although Brandin would certainly not say that Jace knew it all) and said simply, "I'm going too." Two reasons. Catalina could more than handle herself, but Brandin wanted to insure she and everyone going were going to be okay. Two, if there were any information he might need to assist in fixing the curse or potion...it would be there. |

Selena listen to the people around her, yelling and arguing with each other. She couldn't blame them; she would've joined the yelling if she had not shut her mouth to prevent the words she wanted to say. In her opinion to the people how were going with Catalina, all of them are pretty much weak and useless to fight let alone perform magic. She doesn't know if the people who were going are brave or going to their deaths. She was considering to not to go because the really didn't need her and the aurors were going to show up anyways. But then she started to think about the people in the ritual, what if there were more people besides Caleb? They were probably just innocent people who were pulled into the huge mess and they had nothing to do with the experiment. She didn't like that idea from her experience with her family and she's not going to let someone suffer like her. She at least wants to know if they were alright and it's better than lying on 'her' bed and being safe when people might be dying. "I'm coming as well." She either must be brave or going to her death. Edited by Jennipher Harrington, Sep 12 2009, 09:11 PM.

This was such a mess, and it was tiring him. Didn't people realize that shouting and arguing wasn't going to get anything done? Franco just sighed, and lowered the gun early on; that didn't help matters either. What would help matters though, is getting rid of those pesky security cameras, before Catalina started explaining things. And so he walked around and disconnected every security camera in sight before most people started shouting, before Catalina finished giving her initial explanation. After that he just walked towards Amaris and stood beside her. Not she noticed, a few moments later and she became one of the idiotic people shouting and complaining. He sighed again and shook his head, but followed her small walk forward anyways, putting his hands on her shoulder when she finally stopped talking, that seemed to calm her down a bit. She didn't respond back to Catalina's response, he knew she wouldn't. She didn't want an argument, she just wanted to let things out. He wasn't normally smug about the fact he was right, but that was because of the situation. "Amaris is going, then so am I." She was prone to nobility, no matter how many times she said she was too smart to be noble and that usually put her in very difficult situations. He wanted to make sure she would get out of this okay, okay well that and he wanted to follow the knife. |

Amaris had said everything she had to say, she wasn't going to respond back. She knew she had been rather harsh about some of the things she had said, but she didn't regret it, it was all true in her mindset. They were going to risk their lives most probably, that was always a risk, especially knowing that they were dealing with Dark Magic. Even the knife's appearance was creepy, just...evil. Hearing Jason speak up about Brandin 'fixing this', Amaris turned her head to look at him then Julie. No doubt, the situation that needed to be fixed. Amaris cast her eyes down, feeling uncomfortable immediately. She wished she could say something, anything that would help but she couldn't. . .she couldn't. That fact alone made her sick with herself, angry with herself. She couldn't beat it, she was weak. She was told not to tell anyone of what she was doing, and then she realized she a way. She couldn't speak, couldn't inform anyone of what she was doing but she could give them the vial. She stepped away from Franco and towards Brandin, she didn't think it a good idea to go immediately to Jason and Brandin was supposed to be fixing it right? She shakily reached into the back pocket of her jeans and pulled out a vial, a part of her wanted to drop it right back into the pocket, that she was going against the order, but that was all a matter of perspective. She was allowed to do this, and so she would. She brought it up to her line of vision, and with a shaky breath extended the hand with the potion vial to Brandin. She had to choose her words carefully because she couldn't say much, again she was disgusted with herself."An antidote is...easier to find when the offending potion is...at hand." Her hand was still slightly shaky and she had to use her other hand, to steady her arm. But after that? She couldn't say anything else. She couldn't. |

The wall was moving underneath her hand, and she was finding it really just a feat to stay upright. She was shaking, or maybe the room was vibrating. She didn't know. People's voices were getting louder and softer, and she didn't know if that was because of the person talking, or because she was so dizzy. It was kind of a mess, and she really realized Cat wasn't kidding when she said they would fighting serious after-effects. They still needed a plan, so she allowed herself to sink down to the floor - actually hitting it pretty hard) and lean against that awful, moving wall. Her hand went to her face, and she forced herself to breathe; in, and out. In, and out. Deep breathing always used to make the spinning go away, but it really only served to make her worse. Yet, she knew, when they were ready to leave, she could focus. Ignoring what was going on and being determined enough to get through it was something she could do. But for right then? She was perfectly fine just sitting there feeling it. If she knew what her problem was, then she could deal with it. "So how are all of us managing to go without causing them to react negatively?" Juls mumbled, not knowing or, really, caring, if anyone heard her. |

Jace really didn't care who was going. He was going, and that was as much as he cared. Or...well...until a girl walked forward and handed Brandin a vial, saying it was the 'cause'. The reason, Julie was like this. The poison that sapped her of her free will. And it wasn't Andre who did it himself - typical, the man was a coward, never did his own dirty work - but one of the people who was switched. "You better have a damn good reason for doing this to her." Jace said calmly, though his eyes were anything but the same. It was really grating on him; he was supposed to be able to keep her safe, and there was a multitude of people just using her towards their own means. And that was unacceptable. "What does he have on you? Why the hell would you willingly drug someone in a way that is ridiculously close to an unforgiveable? Unless of course, you're imperiused too?" It was Andre. He didn't use magic so much. He couldn't. So instead he turned his gaze to Cat, "Who else is involved?" |

Amaris was expecting more of a riot from the man currently by Julie's side but this sort of cold, calm, attitude was scarier. After Brandin had taken the vial away from her, her arms fell to the side and her fists clenched up, her eyes closed and her teeth gritted. She wanted to tell him, she would never, never take away someone's free will, not by her own choice. "I can't say." she uttered through her clenched teeth. She was angry, furious with herself and not in the slightest bit angry with the real person behind all this. First because she really couldn't get past her inability to overcome the stupid curse, and second because she hadn't seen who had cast the spell. When Jason kept insisting and questioning her she opened her eyes and looked directly at him with a desperate glance, "I can't say." And how she hated it. |

His arched eyebrow gave a wiggle as Brandin accepted the potion from the switched Amaris. Things just got more and more interesting, didn't they? He lifted the vial to his eye for a second, examining it, and then slipped it into his pocket. It was no Veritaserum, that was for sure. Further testing was quite obviously necessary. He nodded, and simply looked back at her with gratitude. "Thanks." It wasn't going to be enough; he needed to know what the potion itself was, and study the exact effects on both Caleb and Julie, but it was an auspicious start. He wasn't starting from scratch anyways. Jace was- obviously- furious, but the moment Amaris had added that she couldn't physically say, Brandin abstained from pressing himself. He could talk to her later, when she was no longer imperiused. She'd slip free of that, he was sure. Then again, perhaps it wasn't Imperius. Perhaps it was that potion Brandin had been working on an antidote for months for with his 'uncle's notebook? Or perhaps she was being blackmailed and her words were traced? Hm. All the more interesting the more stories he came up with. This clearly wasn't her own free will, however, so he turned around, shook his head and stepped back besides Catalina. He was absolutely ready to just leave, Aurors or no Aurors. |

Pierce had apparated to the warehouse, but it had taken him a few minutes to actually find where the people were. And as it was, he didn't just walk in; his wand was out, and he stood, waiting for the rest of the aurors to show up. Eye on the prize, was basically it. From what Sam had been saying, here wasn't where the danger was. There was that knife, yes, but they were worried about some ritual, yes? Well they had to find out where the ritual was, and figure out how to address it... But Pierce didn't bother thinking about how, because right then, he needed to learn to work under Lynx and with his fellow aurors. And what she said, went. Not to mention his mind was still reeling. |

Jana sneaked a hand around the iron bar of the jail cell, and gripped it tight to keep herself steady while waiting for a plan to be held. Jarred and disoriented, she was not pleased to note the headache beginning to split her skull open. All right. She could deal with this. She'd dealt with worse. It was honestly just that she did not want to simply sit there, waiting, letting the after-effects rule her. She wanted to just get out of there, go after that damn ritual, bring Caleb and whomever else out. When they weren't just sitting there, she'd be fine with dealing with it. Right? Right. So she shook her head, shutting her eyes trying to think. How did that many people show up and affect this ritual without them all vanishing or harming their captives? She wasn't an expert on this. She knew enough not to say they were ever going to hand Julie over, but that was it. Winging it, with Caleb and others life on the line, was not an option either. Waiting for the Aurors call seemed like the best bet, and sure enough, out of the corner of her eye she saw other people apparating in. Fantastic. She gripped the bar tighter. |

Cat nodded to Jason's conditions. "I think you should come. The more, the better." She honestly didn't want wholmever was doing this ritual to succeed, mostly because they had her brother, partially because it was just someone else trying to use her to their own advantage. And Cat needed to show people that they couldn't do that. "And all of your conditions sound perfectly reasonable." Within moments other people had spoken up that they were going as well, and now they just needed to figure out a way for people to get there without the person or people doing the ritual seeing them. "What if everyone Disillusioned themselves?" Cat suggested after one woman had come forward with the potion affecting Caleb and Julie. She gave an inward sigh of relief as she realized that it was Brandin who had the potion now, because she trusted him to find a cure for it. Whatever Caleb was under, it would be fixed. Of course, then Jason was practically jumping down that woman's throat about having the potion when it was quite clear - at least to Cat - that she was Imperiused and didn't have a choice. "Whatever we do, we should do it now..." Of course, just as they actually started making plans, the Aurors were beginning to show up. She resisted a frustrated sigh at the sight of the first of them. They were going to mess everything up, as usual. Not only would these ritual people get away with what they were doing, they'd take the knife away from Cat, they'd take the potion away from Brandin... It was ridiculous. |

After Lynx had arrived in the warehouse (Kevin, Tyler and Shawn with her), it wasn't too hard to find the people. She found a large crowd of them downstairs, discussing what seemed to be some sort of game plan. From what it sounded like to Lynx, they wanted to go to the ritual themselves and try to stop it. Wand and Auror badge out, first thing. When she entered the room, she held the latter up, flashing it once just so people she hadn't seen knew who she was. "Lynx Rubin, Head Auror," she said by way of introduction. And then she got down to business. "What exactly is going on in here? So far I've heard about your role, Cat," she said, glancing at her cousin. "I know about the switching, and I know that there's a ritual taking place. I need all the information that anyone has on the ritual and where it is." She was addressing Cat mostly, who was the person she'd heard had the most information. "Cat, you need to tell us where this is. We will go handle the situation. You can all stay here and wait or get switched back and go home, but the Aurors will take care of this." She caught the dirty look her cousin was giving her. "It's just not safe to have untrained people going into situations like this," Lynx explained. "It's a liability, and one we really can't afford. We'll do our best to make sure everyone there comes back safely." |

Andy stepped forward, and crossed her arms. This was a terrible situation, and she wanted to go, and unlike a lot of the rest of the crowd she was a former Auror and a current Order member. "Lynx, I want to go, I can help, more this way than my actual body." She looked at her best friend dead in the eye. She looked around for her body, then for Carter and he waved at her assuringly. "I definitely want to go, you need more hands anyways." Edited by Meredith, Sep 14 2009, 05:03 AM.

Llian apparated to the warehouse, not really liking the looks of the outside. It was a grim building, all concrete and colorless. Inside wasn't much better. The halls were stark, nothing was...anywhere really. The only furnishings were down in the cellar where there were cells and a small chair in the center. The furnishings, though, were the least of Llian's concerns as he mulled over everything he had just learned. People had switched bodies. How many people? Who? Did he know someone who had been living as an entirely different person for the past.. month? When he got into the room, he immediately scanned it for people he knew and recognized a few. Of course, there were only a couple who really caught his eye, and he turned to one of them. The last time he had seen her, she'd told him she was sick. And he hadn't heard from her since. That was... dear Merlin that was about a month ago. He'd started to think he'd done something wrong, perhaps offended her in some way. He hadn't actually gone this long without seeing her since they met and started this... whatever it was. So, knowing full well that in a few moments his attention had to be entirely elsewhere, he just asked, "Juls...? Is that... you?" But wasn't everyone in that room switched? |

Juls had heard Cat's suggestion that they all go disillusion themselves, and she forced herself to stand up, pulling her wand into her hand. Somehow, her eyes had closed and her wand had ended up on the floor, but she paid attention to what was going on again. And was kind of surprised to see people showing up, things being ordered. She didn't have to go? Great. She would go home and sleep. She really, really wanted to. But then she heard her name, and she turned slightly, seeking out the face to go with the voice. There was a moment of confusion - she really wasn't operating on all cylinders, that's for sure - as to why he was there. Not to say she wasn't happy to see him, she was just confused. And then she realized it was aurors who had showed up, remembering that one of the girls had gone to get them. Immediately, her expression brightened into a smile, and she nodded. "Me, yeah. We just..." Juls blinked for a moment, before finishing her sentence, even more confused that she was able to, "switched back." Maybe something happened? Maybe they had been able to talk about it the whole time? Maybe when she switched back she could talk about it? Bloody hell... Too many thoughts. She refrained from moving, or asking him any questions...she knew he was there as an auror - after all, why else would he? - and she didn't want to get in the way. |
