Gryphin had been too stunned and more or less watched after the shot was fired. He hardly could believe he had done it. He shot Ama. The next thing he knew however he was being knocked backwards and right onto the floor.

It was instinct to attempt to fight back but in that attempt the gun got out of his hand which meant he had nothing but his wand that was in his back pocket. That wasn't going to work at all.

"Get off."

A feeble attempt really but considering shouting wasn't going to work he instead went back to trying to push Tyler off.

People were...still fighting. And Tayn, Tayn was there trying to save the girl. It arose so many what ifs in her head that for a moment, she just covered her hands over her ears.

Yeah. Like that could silence thoughts.

Abruptly she got up though, and she headed down to Jordan and Ella. She had to make sure they were still okay, let them know what was going on. And basically? When Tayn came back to get the two girls, Juls waited until they were gone, and went around the ship, showing the young, pale acolytes where the bodies were to take to the morgue. And every single one was taken care of.

She left Phin and Tyler in the dining hall, for she had no wish to help. The aurors arrested. She was more likely to hurt. As as much as he probably deserved it, that wouldn't fill out their paperwork very nicely.

So she just left. To where, she didn't know, but she was going somewhere.

Cat couldn't help but want to get out of there as soon as she heard that the wards were down. She knew what was going on, and she had enough information to be satisfied with leaving.

She just wanted to get home, get out, and be safe, warm and clean. And that was what she was going to do. So she apparated out, her only motivation being to get home. If the Aurors wanted to question her or something, they knew she was there. They knew where she lived. They could go find her.

Alessa had spent most of the time, sitting on the ground her hands over her ears. She didn`t want to hear, didn`t want to know. Still, she screamed out a little as she heard the loud bang, but didn`t even turn to look - afraid of what might happen.

Then there was silence and she managed to look at last. There was blood on the ground, but people were leaving and she realized that it was over. She just couldn`t move herself at all. It took her ages to get over the last killing that happened. Now this... this wasn`t as bad, more people lived on this, but it was too much for her.

Lara had remained silent through out the fianl test, finding Jake in the crowd and moving beside him, listening to those stood in a line. The girl with the gun, the guy she and Amaris had started following around the ship, Dante from the dining-hall at the start of the journey among many face unfamiliar to her... Lara had tense as the voices raised and the choice was put to them... Dante's life or one of theirs. Lara had kept very quiet, despite the arguing and the chaos.

But when Amaris had stepped forward offering herself an alternative to Dante, Lara came very close to speaking up and protesting. She didn't want to see one of the few people she knew on that ship, shot. The gun was very real, that was quickly proed when the girl holding it fired a shot at the floor causing Lara to visibly jump. What was Amaris doing? Dante had been a part of it all whether he'd been duped himself, or not. She'd done nothing. So why was she offering herself instead?

Lara had been oblivious to the comings and goings of the others in the room, watching her new friend with trepidation. When the gun was taken by one of the men at the front and a second shot rang out, this time hitting it's target, Lara had recoiled, turning away from the shocking scene, hands over her eyes. "No, Amaris!" Why? It didn't seem fair.

She was shaking as she turned to watch the scene, the Healer from earlier already having hurried forward and tending to her, the rest clearly as shocked and outraged as Lara was. The culprit being apprehended and then Dante lifting the wards, and allowing the Healer to leave and take a bleeding Amaris to St Mungo's for medical care. Lara felt physically sick at the sight of the blood, an injured Amaris and exhausted at the fact that it was all over.

Turning to Jake beside her, she murmured meekly. "Can we go home now?"

Jake watched everything in total silence. He didn`t know anyone on that ship besides Lara. It didn`t matter to him who died, or how, or why - the thing that mattered was that people kept dying. And he tried his best to push it all away, because quite frankly these were ones of the memories he didn`t want to have with him for the whole eternity.

As the gun was pointed at some girl he actually felt a bit scared, because of how it might affect him if she was shot. Selfish. Maybe. But the last thing he wanted was to feel that thirst again.

Yet, he was amazed by the fact that actually when she was shot, he didn`t think about blood. He was far too concerned about Lara`s well being. At the sound of the bang, as she turned around he softly wrapped his hands around her shoulders, trying to calm her down. His eyes were on the all blood, and the girl and of course it attracted him. Just that moment he had much more to care about.

When it was all over and the healer was over the girl he pulled back and kept his eyes on Lara instead, examining her face. He didn`t want her to completely freak out. Somehow she was his responsibility. He did promise to himself to keep her safe, so, keep her sane as well.

As she asked the question Jake nodded slowly. "I suppose... I`d probably take you, but I don`t apparate." he admitted, still searching for any signs of distress.

Mark decided to wait until all of the action was over before leaving. His editor would most certainly want the entire story, and Mark was nothing if not dedicated. So he would wait to see what happened, although in his search for the radio (which he hadn't wound up finding_, he had found a ship log and a pen. The paper in the log was mostly unwritten on, so he had taken a seat at one of the tables in the dining hall and was furiously taking notes on everything that was going on.

There didn't seem to be much else he could do, and as a reporter, he really wasn't supposed to be in his stories. Besides, he was tired and hungry enough that focusing on writing was the only thing keeping him going until he could get off the boat. He refused to apparate off, because his body was so exhausted that he'd probably splinch himself.

Lara had been glad of the comfort. She'd never seen death before this boat journey and now suddenly she'd seen the girl get killed by the hook in the cargo hold and then all the bodies and several getting seriously injured, and now Amaris, shot. Jake was true to his word, he was looking out for her but she just wanted to go home and see Will and her family. Her first solo venture and this is what she'd gone through.

"I can apparate," Lara murmured at Jake's statement. "I can apparate us out of here. I... know I want to see how Amaris is. Asides from you and my boyfriend's sister, she's the one other friend I've made on this boat." It was sad really how few people Lara knew. A few friends at Beauxbatons but here in the UK, just Will and his family, Leslie and Gabe and now Jake and Amaris.

"I guess you'll want to see Cassie and I want to see Will... and my family." Lara offered Jake a weak smile. "Thanks for looking after me. Really, you should meet Will. I know you two would get along and I'd love to meet Cassie."

Jake smiled softly at her. That was the least he could do. And actually, if not Lara he probably would have ended up eating someone. Now that wouldn`t have been nice. But he was far too concerned about her to care for himself that much.

He nodded. "Cassie..." he murmured to himself. All the time on the ship he wondered how she was doing, but now instead of going to see her he actually wasted his time. He was a horrible person, really.

"I have to see Cassie... dammit, she has no idea how much she means to me. And I have to tell her. " he smiled and then glanced around the ship. "I guess this will add to the list of memories I`m going to block out." he joked sadly.

At her mention of him seeing Will and her meeting Cassie he smiled again. "Well, unless you`re not okay with a vampire/werewolf company, then we should have a double date." he suggested, and stretched out for her to take. "So... give me a lift?" he was really trying to forget the whole weekend already.

She could tell by the way that Jake said her name that he really liked Cassie. Lara couldn't help but think just how much Will eant to her also and how they both seemed to have evaded the 'L' word - hardly surprising given she and Will had only been together four months. Still, an ordeal like that weekend can really make you think clearer about things. "I don't think any of us will be in a hurry to remember this weekend or to ever board a cruise again." Lara offered a small smile.

The suggestion of a double date had Lara's smile broadening. "I've nothing against vampire and werewolf company, and I'm sure Will won't." She hoped Will wouldn't. Lara gave his hand a squeeze as she took it and nodded. "A double date sounds great. I'll owl you... or you can owl me. Come on. Let's head home." Hand firmly in his, then apparated out, Lara first to take Jake to Cassie, then on to St Mungo's to drop in on Amaris.

Tyler kicked the gun away from them as hard as he could, rolling against the marble. He could see that several people were leaving--the entire ship was going to be emptied out soon. Even the bodies were taken to the morgue; the thought calmed him down somewhat. He knew this ship would have to be sent for, guided back to the harbor.

Maybe it wouldn't be. Maybe it would just float around forever, a living museum to the horrors occuring aboard it. The ghostly, ghastly lights were one thing.

Tyler was exhausted. The ability to go home was weighing heavily on his mind; Lynx, and James would be waiting for him. His sister. Anna. There were people who loved him, whom he loved--whom he would see again. Now he couldn't lose control. So the flood gates that had opened were shutting again, quickly, hurried. His next words weren't growled. They were spoken. Calmly.

Firmly.

"You're under arrest, and don't you bloody well tell me other wise."

Tyler stood, hands grasping Gryphins behind his back--lack of handcuffs not withstanding. And he disapparated.
