Amaris was just about to take another hesistant bite of her salad when the once leafy greens turned into filthy, disgusting wriggling and almost translucent looking maggots. Having the fork not even two inches away from her mouth, Amaris threw it on the table next to the plate (that was filled with even more of those revolting things) and stood up immediately, backing away with a disgusted look on her face.

Now that she was no longer sitting down, she noticed the pale body of a woman around the what would otherwise be a very striking and charming chandelier. The body that belonged to a blonde woman was bent, twisted, bloody, and hell it was even skewered. Amaris covered her mouth with both of her hands to refrain from screaming. When she was sure she wasn't going to scream or freak out, she lowered her hands and the first thing that came out was, "Bloody :censored: hell." although it really wasn't loud enough for anyone but those immediately near to hear.

Alright, Amaris changed her mind. She would rather deal with her normal problems increased by tenfold than this. Slightly shaking and breathing erratically she asked,"Who is she? in a half-shout. Stupid question to ask compared to the most pertinent ones like 'who did this?' and 'what the hell kind of cruise is this?'. But she figured that her question was easier to answer.

Looking up again at the body, Amaris just shuddered. Dead bodies she could handle. Mangled, torn, completely skewered bodies however...

Keels hadn't started eating her salad; she was too excited to actually sit down and eat at the moment. Her attention instead was still people-watching. It was why she noticed something red dripping down onto the floor in front of and to her right, just catching the edge of their table.

She really didn't understand what was going on, even as she started feeling it. The horror, the disgust, the fear. She followed the dripping up, and up, until she saw the body.

For a moment, she couldn't tell if the lurching of her stomach was from her own emotions or the composite of everyone elses, but she was frozen, hands on her lap, staring at the woman.

She couldn't help herself, her face had paled remarkably, her eyes had widened, and she was shaking, a little keen falling from her lips.

Keels had never seen death.

Gryphin shoved his salad around with his fork and then stilled as it changed. He didn't freak out like everyone else because screaming wouldn't do anything would it? He stood up slowly and then turned to look up and quickly looked at the floor next. Silver. Merlin, Audley, what did you get yourself into?

He glanced across the room at Amaris but he didn't budge from where he stood. There was no point. If he left the room where was he going to go? He was better off.

Just as slowly as he stood he sank back into his seat and tried just staring at the table cloth as a distraction. He heard the question of who she was and yes he knew, but no he didn't answer.

Juls didn't even bother looking. The sharp scent of blood was enough, and quite bluntly, she didn't want to see it. The maggots in the foot she had been about to taste just served to make her already rolling stomach worse, and with a jerk, she stood up, the chair being knocked over in her haste.

She wasn't doing this again. She just wasn't. She was going to go to her room, and she wasn't coming out of it.

The intercom crackled like twice before and the same voice came across, but there was something new to the tone of voice. Something darker and something not reassuring that all would be fine.

Now that you've been initiated into our little game, I'd like to say welcome. Did you really think this was a real weekend getaway? So naive. This is where the fun really begins because someone has been held hostage. I'm sure by now their hoping someone would care to find them. Of course you'll need a hint for that won't you? My pleasure...

To find a room you need a key.
Isn't that obvious?
But know if you save our little hostage it comes with a fee.
Do you believe in sacrifices?
Save the hostage if you will, but you'll need to talk to the right person.
This person in question is someone you'll need this entire trip or else I'm afraid you won't make it anywhere...

Cat listened to the words carefully, dragging her chair away from the table and the maggots, sitting down to contemplate it.

So there was a hostage. Who cared? She didn't particularly want to risk herself to save some random person. Of course, there were two reasons why she would play along and even think about it: the hostage could very well be someone she knew, and seeing who the captain was holding hostage and why might help her figure out who it was.

So basically they needed to find 'the right person' to talk to and make a sacrifice to get the key. Well, there were plenty of mudbloods around that they could give up. Now to figure out who to talk to...

Perhaps a cruise staff member? "Where are the people that work here, anyways?" she complained loudly, her own way of throwing out a suggestion without letting people know she actually had real thoughts on the matter.

Andy came into the dining room late after she had spent a good hour in the bathroom throwing up. This ship was working wonders, and she tried to make it into the dining room when she saw the bowls filled with maggots which got her running again.

Finally she made it to the table where Emma sat, she had seen Keeley was with other people, but the poor girl's face was giving away such bad emotions that andy felt bad for her. She closed her eyes and pushed the bowl away without looking at it and sat at the table wimpering. Her chest and throat were hurting from the throwing up and thankfully her dress was still clean. "I need to lie down." She murmured, ignoring the dead body, it was all she could to to not throw up.

Keels had finally looked away, flinching when she heard the voice over the intercom.

There were people there she knew she could run to and cry for, but the fact the words were 'little' hostage caught her attention. Anything to focus on but the emotions clogging the room, and almost shyly, her throat thick with tears that were sure to fall if anyone else started to have a breakdown, she pointed out, "The Captain has lots of keys. I've seen them! And, we need him to steer the boat, right? So he's needed to get places. Right? We can go get to him over the bridge in First Class, I went there today but then we were told to come here..."

She was babbling nervously, but what she was saying she thought was important.

Mark looked at the other brunette woman at the table with them, unsure of her name. But he did know that she looked much worse than he felt, and he really wasn't feeling great at that point. Turning his attention away from the body for a moment, he knelt down beside her chair. "Is there anything I can get you, miss?" he asked. "I'm Mark, by the way."

When the announcement came on, he paused to listen to it, wishing he had at least something to... oh. Wait. He had a pen in his suit pocket in case of emergency story-writing situations like this one. Grabbing a napkin - not caring if he was wrecking the nice linen at the moment - he jotted down a few notes about the announcement, although it was hard to write on the napkin.

Then he turned back to the woman. "I'd offer to take you to your room," he said, "but I'm not entirely sure getting away from the crowd is best right now," he finished, his tone apologetic.

Daphne was late and she knew it. She had been too busy fixing her dress, and once she found a side door she slipped into the dining room hoping to go unnoticed. The atmosphere in the room seemed off however and she suddenly knew why when she looked up.

Not saying anything but counting her steps to distract herself, quietly to herself, she found a table with some guy and a brunette (Mark and Emma).

Andy looked up to see Mark and she tried smiling. "Thanks, I just need water. I've been throwing up almost constantly since being on here. I'm Andy, cabin 22 in" She wimpered. "Second class."

"You're right, perhaps we need to stick around here, I need to keep an eye on Keeley, she's my friends' cousin, and she's living with me and babysits my boys." She told him, her eyes focused on Keeley, just o make sure the young girl was safe and okay.

When a new girl arrived at her table Andy recognized her and she smiled. "Hey Daph, got away from your pets to come?" She tried to remain pleasant though even Andy believed she was a psycho.

Mark turned to the table, reaching a hand over the maggot plates and grabbing a glass of water that was, luckily, still water. "Here you go," he said, giving the glass to Andy.

"Did you say cabin 22? Well, I guess you're my roommate, then," he said with a friendly smile. "Nice to meet you."

He glanced over at the young girl, who seemed really nervous. "Yeah, we need to stick around," he said, overhearing Keeley's suggestion. "But I have to say - she's pretty smart for a teenager."

As Andy turned to talk to another woman joining them, Mark stood up and spoke a little louder to address Keeley. "That's a good idea," he said. "We should find the Captain."

Daphne's eyes were skyward as she continued to count even though she was far past her steps at this point, she tapped her fingers on her thigh with every number so she knew which one she was on.

"...Ten, eleven, twelve..." Then she looked at Andy as she realized she had been spoken to. "Hi Andy," she greeted quietly. "I did. They weren't allowed to come."

A sad fact at that.

No one was listening to her. She knew she was right. She knew it. It made sense, to her, at least. Who else would they need to get places? Without the Captain, the boat wouldn't move. And he had keys. Why was no one listening to her?

Keels finally stood up on her chair, the journal in her hand as she once again hoisted her long dress in her free hand, being very careful not to drag it in the maggots or touch the food or blood at all as she climbed onto the table.

"I said," She shouted, annoyed people were just randomly sitting around. "THE CAPTAIN HAS KEYS AND TO GET TO HIM YOU GO OVER A BRIDGE AND HE STEERS THE BOAT TO MAKE IT GO PLACES SO OF COURSE HE IS NECESSARY!"

She stood there for for a moment, and then muttered something along the lines of 'useless adults', jumping off the table. Then one of them said it was a good idea, and she beamed at him before turning and running off herself.

Maybe if the adults were talking to the Captain, she could steer the boat?

Jesse was glad that Adelaide had agreed to watch the twins. Now him and Jennipher were here on this cruise, which was anything but pleasant. Plus he was in first class, and she was in second. Oh well, he would just go see his room later and see if there was a roommate.

After looking at the salad, now maggot filled, he tried to calm his girlfriend down. This wasn't anytime to become freaked out. Then there was the dead body, it didn't disturb him at all. "Honey, it's all going to be okay. Nothing too terrifying," he reminded her.

Cat definitely agreed with Keeley - the Captain was the most logical choice. She wasn't sure how safe it was out there, but she was determined to go find that guy. Besides, then she could walk around and get a better look and feel for the layout of the ship.

So she stood up, brushing off her still perfectly white dress. "Well I'm not going to just sit here with all of this stuff," she said haughtily. "I'm going to give that Captain a piece of my mind and get off this boat."

Besides, if she got there first, maybe she could choose what to sacrifice. And if she was going to be put in someone else's game, she was going to win.

So she stalked off, outside of the dining hall.

Amaris visibly flinched when the intercom crackled to life. So far, that voice bode nothing but bad news. And this time, it was just the same. The voice was just a lot more upfront about its motives this time around. Amaris didn't bother to sit down, even if her legs were rather weak at that moment. She just rubbed her neck with both hands while she listened to the coded and secretive ramblings of a madman. Or madwoman, who knew.

Clues and riddles again? This was just ridiculous. She, however, repeated the 'hint' in her mind multiple times until she had it memorized completely. The hostage situation unnerved her. Great, they were responsible for the life of another person. As for the 'right person' well the most obvious answer was, of course, the captain. Seeing as how the captain steered the boat and what not. All her thoughts however, were already voiced outloud by a little girl.

Amaris didn't know what to do; she's not a leader, never was, never will be. There were other, much better qualified people to take charge and decide what to do next. There were just too many things currently clouding her mind, she didn't know what to do (that had been happening a lot recently) and so she just leaned against the wall, her arms crossed over her chest and just stood there thinking.

She couldn't help her eyes darting up to the chandelier every once in a while, as if she had to constantly remind herself how real the situation was.

Tyler had been reading.

Yes, he’d come downstairs (not at all happy to discover that his other clothes were missing, but he was thankful that this suit did not require a tie)—and he’d “sat” at the “dinner” table, but he’d hidden his book underneath the tablecloths and refused to look up.

He … had reinforced his opinion of “do. Not. Look. Up.” When he heard the screams and shouts from above. The book was interesting, but he supposed, not that interesting. He hadn’t even bloody wanted to come. That damn ticket—

When Keels yelled however, Tyler looked up from his book at last. Swallowing, he had risen from his chair and was beside her in a second.

“All right.”

Well. He didn’t believe in wasting words at the minute. “Lead the way.” Clearly someone was in danger, and that was the top priority. Secondly was getting the hell out of this “dining hall”.

Amaris looked up when the small girl had yelled, and when her and a couple of other people walked out of the dining hall. Not wanting to be left here, knowing nothing- and definitely having to get away from the gruesome scene before her- Amaris pushed herself away from the wall and followed after them.

After taking off her heels; she didn't want her clumsyness to slow her down.

Although Mark had remained in the dining hall while some others went to go find the Captain, some noise that signaled something else had happened just prompted his curiosity too much. He needed to go see what was going on, especially if he was going to write a good story out of it.

Excusing himself from Andy's side, he went to go check out what was happening.
