Maybe you want to visit the captain? You'll find him here at the wheel ensuring you a safe journey. There's one large window in front that overlooks to the deck below and its left at that. The floor is a simple wood like all the decks, and the colors are left to whites and blues.

"Mister Captain! Mister Captain!" Well luckily the Dining Hall and Bridge were on the same class, and it didn't take long for her to get there, even with the dress slowing her down. Keels loved running, and she was even more excited about the idea of actually being around someone who could drive a ship this big.

She skidded into the space, and said all in a rush, "Mister Captain! Someoneisdeadinthedininghallandtheysaidtherewasahostageandweneededtotalktoyouaboutitandyouhadakeyandyouwerenecessary!"

It didn't even occur to her that if they were supposed to talk to the Captain about finding the hostage and making a sacrifice, he could be dangerous.

Cat managed to make her way to the bridge, following Keeley, swaying slightly in her heels. Hm. That might get a little dangerous. On land, Cat could spend all day in stilettos and not even bat an eyelash, but being on the water was just a bit different.

She approached the captain, standing behind Keeley, crossing her arms over her chest. "All right," she said. "What's all this nonsense about needing a key and making a sacrifice?" She was going to get straight down to business, not knowing how long it would take for those bloody Aurors to come ruin things with their "let's do it by the book" stupidity.

Tyler recognized Catalina rather right away—amazing, as his head had been in a book almost the entire evening, he’d neglected to observe exactly who he might recognize—but he was more interested in what she was saying at the moment regardless. Clearly, this was not a usual cruise.

But then, Tyler had never expected it to be. That was why he had not wanted to come. Come on, that letter had made it sound like it was a bloody choice! (No, he didn’t sound like a four year old who wanted candy…)

He stood behind Keels, aside Cat, and explained as calmly as possibly,

“Sir, I’m Auror Tyler Rubin.” Not that he had his badge. Bloody luggage stealer. “Do you think you could please explain why we’re being informed of a hostage situation, who sent the tickets, and why there’s a corpse in the dining room?”

Well. Tyler didn’t like this man, clearly. He also was not in the mood for any of this. After the virus, the warehouse, the train...of course a bloody ship was next...

The captain is a middle aged man nearing the end of his very long career as a captain of that very ship. Today he was dressed appropriately in his uniform and topped off with the expected hat. He turned to look at those who walked in, which he didn't like the tone of most of them at all.

Oh he knew why they were there yes, but not in detail no.

"For someone barging into my quarters, you're all awfully intrusive. No manners." He shook his head as if in disgust.

For a moment his expression softened as he glanced at Keels, he hadn't meant her. Crouching to her height he stuck his hand into his pocket and took out something very important at this point.

Grabbing Keeley's hand he put it in hers and leaned close enough to whisper where only she would hear his words.

"Take this. Don't let anyone take it from you, you hear me? You take that and you run along now."

What Keeley held in the palm of her hand at this point was a key. Not just any key. The master key to room twelve second class...

Amaris had to resort to a sprint to keep up with these people, but once she had reached the destination, and after pulling down her dress and regaining her breath, she just walked warily up to where everybody else was standing and yet remained a couple of more feet away than Catalina, Tyler and Keeley.

It really wasn't a good idea to come barging up to a man without their wands. For all they knew, the captain was the one who had killed the girl in the dining hall. Sure she had her kick-boxing as back up but against an armed wizard they were pretty much doomed.

"I think we should be more cautious about this..." she said hesitantly, not wanting to sound stupid but really, she just couldn't stand there and not say something.

When the captain turned and talked to them however, she just silently listened and tensed up when he crouched to Keeley's height and spoke to her. This was just too freaky for words. From her position, Catalina and Tyler were both blocking her, she couldn't see and so she asked hoping to be confirmed, "Is it the key?

When the Captain gave her something, she stepped forward and threw her hands around his neck, hugging him for helping them.

"I won't." She promised, sliding her hand into the leather pocket of the journal and then turning around to glare at her cousin for a second, clearly not happy she was so mean to the nice Captain, and then blatantly tell Mister Tyler, "You shouldn't be so grumpy. We're on a ship!"

Clearly, seeing as she'd never experienced any of the other serial deaths, one single one wasn't going to get her down, if she didn't think about it. And what thirteen year old liked to dwell on death? Not her.

Of course, there wasn't much point for her to be there anymore, and she turned to smile for a second at the Captain before she took off running again, brushing past people, heading downstairs. She got the key! She could get the hostage!

Amaris was slightly surprised and confused when Keeley hugged the middle aged captain and then to turn to Tyler and tell him to stop being grumpy? Clearly, no situation was going to phase this little girl. Whether or not that was a good thing Amaris didn't quite actually know.

When the small girl had run past all of them, out of the captain's quarters, Amaris just stood there in partial shock. Before yelling out a small "Wait! and running after the little girl, thankful that she had already taken off her heels by this point.

'For someone who invited us on a cruise where the evening begins with a bowl full of maggots and a dead body in the chandelier, you're not very helpful," Cat retorted.

She watched as he gave the key to Keeley - well, at least in the choice between the mudblood Auror and the thirteen-year-old he had chosen the lesser of two evils - but she still wanted to know what that key went to, and she wasn't going to stand around and waste time talking to the captain.

So she followed Keeley, gripping the ropes and other parts of the ship to steady herself as she made her way back down.

The captain had proudly stood at his post though suddenly he stood straight and his fingers curled tightly around the wheel before he fumbled around in his pocket for something. It obviously wasn't there as instead he grabbed for the glass last left for him, and hastily put it to his lips. Dammit! His hands released the steering and instead he ran from the room....

Keels had made Tyler let her down (despite being small, she wanted to make sure to give the Captain his key in secret), and she hurried over the bridge.

Problem was, when they got there...

No one was in sight. No one was steering the boat. For a moment, her notebook hit the floor, little items spilling across it, and her first reaction was to grab the wheel, brace it. Make it stop moving around with the waves like it was. The wheel was bigger than she was, she couldn't even see over it, but she still did her best to keep it in one place, forgetting, just for a moment, that no one could see her notebook.

It was Tyler though. If anyone else decided to come in, then she would have a problem.

"He's gone." Her tone was honestly dismayed.

The ship is a sensitive thing but it has a few add security measures. The thing was that as soon as Keeley touched the wheel, it was reacting back with a sharp shock that would probably surprise the little girl, and even sting for a few moments. The wheel itself then locked up. It couldn't be budged. Didn't anyone tell you not to touch what isn't yours?

Keels was such a little girl that the shock went from her fingertips and spread out to the rest of her body, a little more voltage that was really necessary. The next thing she knew, she was on the floor, a pain-filled shriek echoing in the room, her hands red and raw.

Honestly? She was kind of shocked. (no pun intended). "I was just trying to help!"

It was then she realized her things were spread onto the floor, and even though it really stung to move at all, she frantically started pulling it all back, her hand over the page, all the little things going back into the pockets...

Eventually she just sat back, just as close to tears as she had been all weekend. Gruesome murder was too much for a thirteen year old who could feel it to take in stride, and the physical pain just added to it all. She wanted to go home. She wanted her puppy. She wanted Cal, because Cal always made everything better. She didn't want to be there anymore...

Tyler had decided to stand back, shocked to find the room empty at first. Only one thought entered his mind at the discovery.

Who the hell is driving this ship?

He had enough tact not to say that outloud however. Either way, Keels things having spilled to the floor, he glanced at the pages for a second and reaverted his eyes.

When she leapt back literally 'shocked', Tyler had run towards her and frowned. His own shock aside, he reaffirmed to himself that they'd-survived-thus-far, and tried to do the same internally for Keels, kneeling down besides her and saying as calmly as possible,

"Are you okay?" Bloody stupid question. He winced at his own stupidity and--catching a glimpse of her hands--paused and reached into his pocket, hoping he could find something useful.

He couldn't. Because of course, everything had been bloody stolen. Why would she want his wallet? She wouldn't.

Except as he reached in for his wallet, he remembered something; he had pictures of James and Lynx in there (and of course, Jenny and Anna). He paused, holding the wallet in front of him, and then he smiled. Just a little. The first honest to merlin real smile since he'd seen Keels an hour or so ago. He often smiled at the thought of them, but the realization that he had a piece of them with him? Heartening beyond belief.

Wanting to share that with Keels, he paused for a second, then flipped the wallet open to a page where a stagnant muggle photo of himself, James, and Lynx sat on the couch smiling up at the camera was. He was smiling back at the picture now, looking at how happy they were. Merlindammit. That had been taken around Christmastime--you could tell by the blue christmas lights that Abi had delivered as housewarming gifts--and they honestly looked so happy in the photo.

He shoved his hair back, propping his hand up on his chin and looked at the tiny photographic selves. It was amazing the amount of hope you could get from a picture. The amount of emotion. The facts resolved themselves in his mind. He was going to get back to them both. To Lynx, and to James.

Dammit he would.

He looked up at Keels a second later and asked hesitantly, "Do you want to see? Lynx and baby James?"

"Is the Captain dead too?" Other people hadn't liked the Captain, but he had given her the key to save the other blonde girl and she'd liked him. He was nice. And now he was gone, and she was scared he'd be dead.

Her hands she just lay on her lap; the stinging was slowly settling down, and she watched Tyler curiously as his mood switched rather dramatically, looking at his wallet. It didn't make sense to her, until he asked if she wanted to see too, and she gave him a little smile.

Watery, and little, but a smile none-the-less. Him feeling better made her calm down a little bit, and she silently nodded.

"I have pictures in the journal too..."

He had collected his thoughts as best he could and in a rush he ended up making it to the bridge. Thing was he wasn't expecting other people.

"What are you doing in here?"

Automatically it came out from thought to words and Dante glanced from Tyler to Keeley seeming a bit surprised.

"Oh, no. I'm sure the captain is fine." It was firm.

Tyler really believed that. Mostly because he was relatively positive that the captain was involved in all of this. Whether it was willingly or not; the captain had helped set this up, and there was no need for them to have dissolved their leverage.

He smiled slightly himself as he saw her smile. It was a strange way to feel safer, sitting on the bridge with pictures and magically-zapping-wheels. It was strange, but very true.

It was not near as true the second Dante barged in. Tyler jumped slightly, and looked up.

"We could ask you the same thing." Okay. So Tyler was in a no nonsense mood.

When Dante came in, Keels jumped up, expecting to see the captain, and yet, still recognizing the guy. His question seemed a little violent for a curious inquiry, but she was explaining anyways.

"I wanna go home, and I was gonna ask the Captain if he could turn us around but he's gone! No one was steering the ship so I grabbed the wheel so we wouldn't go upside down and it shocked me!" She showed him her hands, her expression genuinely sorry. "I was just trying to help and the Captain is missing..."

After a minute though, she remembered that he had left dinner to find, " Did you find your jacket Mister Dante?"

Dante glaned at Tyler but it was Keels' rant that caught his attention. He frowned as he saw her hands and for a moment he glanced at the wheel and then back to her.

"It's okay."

She was only trying to help after-all.

"Yeah, I found it."

Only then did Dante back track and actually speak to Tyler.

"You could but it would be pointless. I think most of us are running around this place and in rooms we aren't supposed to be in."

Tyler was at least happy that Dante was being polite to Keeley for one thing. Hearing the ticking, however, he spun around slowly, realizing...

There were speakers in this room. And a clock, in the middle of the steering wheel. Trying to breathe--the last time that had happened...

Okay, breathing was just not working right now, was it? He frowned anyways, trying to focus and responded to Dante simply, "Clearly someone is. We were just trying to get the Captain to turn around. Have you seen him?"

He wasn't wearing a jacket as far as Tyler could see anyways.
