Llian, too, finished getting dressed, waiting as Juls slipped her shoes back on. He still couldn't believe that they had just gotten caught having sex in the Eiffel Tower. That would make a really interesting and entertaining story for... well, he wasn't sure there was any occasion that story would be appropriate to tell. Oh well. "That it did," Llian replied. "Although, that may have just been because we're paying customers so they need to pretend to believe us." But no... Parisians, as a general rule, weren't really that nice. At least, they had a completely different idea of courtesy and customer service than other countries did. "But," he added, holding out his arm to her, "I think we should probably get back there and enjoy our lunches before they get cold. So, I believe I will go join my new fiancee for a celebration meal," he teased. "Now that we've worked up an appetite, that is..." |

Juls laughed. "Right. They may or may not have believed us, but they don't want to take the risk anyways. And they already made our food, so that's a waste of a meal, right there, if we weren't allowed to stay." The whole act of pretending to be newly proposed honestly just reminded her of little kids pretending to be princesses and princes and other random things kids thought about. This really wasn't that much of a difference, if she thought about it, except for the fact she didn't get to dress up. Or... "You know..." Juls said, even as she took his offered arm, teasing, "I don't think I'm properly bejeweled for that kind of talk, Mr. Eppes." Aha. But they definitely had worked up an appetite. |

Llian laughed as they walked back to the table. "So I assume jewelry shopping is next on our list of things to do then?" he asked. "After all, it just wouldn't be proper to let my fiancee walk around ring-less." At his own words, he had to remind himself that it was only a joke as his heart nearly skipped a beat. Stupid entrapment phobia. But nothing was serious - they were just having a good time - and he didn't let any of that show as they went back to the table. Instead, he focused on the meal that was currently awaiting them. To be honest, he had forgotten what he had ordered, but it looked really good. "Hey, maybe the food is as good as the decor," he commented as they sat to eat their meals. "Guess we'll have to find out." Before taking a bite, he raised his wine glass to her. "But first a toast. To our trip around the world." |

"And, I don't quite remember hearing that question and responding favorably..." Juls laughed. "I must have been really, really distracted." She just wiggled her fingers at him when he said jewelry shopping was on the list of things to do, and she just said, "Maybe later." Vague, and not promising anything. Juls really wasn't that much of a jewelry person. Sure, every once in a while, if she was getting dressed up. Her earrings, all the time. But bracelets and necklaces and rings just kinda got in the way. And then there was that annoyingly tricky thing of buying non-silver jewelry. Most places lied when they said it was white-gold. There was always some silver mixed in. When they sat down, she settled in her chair and agreed with his comment, "It looks good, that's for sure." However, he proposed a toast, and she smiled as she lifted her own, "To our trip around the world." She repeated. |

He toasted with her and set his glass down. Llian nodded at her statement. "I believe you were," he said. "I was being quite effective in that area, at least." Maybe not so much in the 'making sure they didn't get caught' area, but that was all right. It hadn't been that bad. "All right. We'll just have to see what we find while walking around Paris." He looked down at the food. "That it does," he agreed. Picking up his fork, he took a bite, then remarked, "It tastes good too." |

After Juls had taken a sip of her wine - which was a good choice, she decided - she picked up her fork, taking a bite before saying anything else. For a moment, she was entirely grateful for the fact that they were not asked to be kicked out, because it was positively the greatest thing she'd put in her mouth since forever. There was nothing like food from home, and England just didn't compare. Or maybe she was just really, really hungry, and anything she ate would have tasted good? Who knew. "You were." She agreed, grinning in response. It was amusing to her that they could do that, and still be joking around with it, but just be sitting there and eating. Just regularly, like nothing happened. Well, okay, the waiter wasn't looking at them regularly but, whatever. He just needed to chill. "I guess jewelry shopping is safer." She teased, "They don't have any fitting rooms." -- They had just finished eating, leaving the restaurant, when a rather eerie owl came and landed on the menu pedestal, no doubt making them the worst customers ever, and she took the letter with more than a bit of apprehension. When she saw what it was, however, Juls' brow creased in confusion, and she glanced up at clock, checking the small ticket for a time - handing the letter to Llian so he could read as well. Seeing as the ticket was a porkey, Juls suddenly wasn't where she had been standing, just moments before. Edited by Julianna Eppes, Jun 12 2009, 08:39 PM.

When Juls showed him the owl and ticket - the portkey transporting her away just moments later - Llian had to admit that he was more than a bit skeptical. He wasn't sure why, but there was a general feeling of unease about whatever it was Juls had just received. It just didn't seem... like a normal cruise, that was for sure. And Llian had been working as an Auror long enough to learn that when something looked suspicious, it normally was. Feeling a bit unsure about the whole thing, he got to a tourist-free spot and apparated away, back to England. Edited by Llian Eppes, Jun 13 2009, 01:17 AM.

So the whole telling him the plane ride would be 'like riding a broom' in some sense didn't help. It wasn't anything like a broom. Turbulence? Probably scarier than anything else about the plane. The plane itself wasn't the issue even if he had been intimidated by the sheer size of it when he first saw it. Oh and the baggage claim that found the need to not give back one of his bags? That had been funny admittedly since it was there, just stuck and holding up everyone else. The whole point was that not just using apparation and doing it the supposed easy way had been better. It had been more of a adventure so far with the plane experience, and the fact he was in Paris with Harm? That alone made for the best day. Dante had taken one of Harm's bags to carry for her and then held her hand. "Paris France," he said, glancing around and then looking at Harm with a smile on his face. "Ours for a couple weeks." Adding with a grin and in a teasing nature, "What kind of trouble do you think a hermit and a panther can get in in a place like this?" |

Harm had been superbly amused when Dante hadn't found riding on a plane as fun, and she made sure to hold his hand the entire time, doing her best to distract him when the turbulence got back, or the ride began to take longer than what was normally his sitting-still ability. She didn't mind at all, the fact of the matter was that she was incredibly excited. She'd never been to Paris before. She'd actually never been outside of England, not really. Any other trips she'd had to stay inside the apartment and that doesn't really count, does it? Then, when they were collecting their bags, Dante's somehow got stuck. They could see it, it was right there, but it was literally stuck. It took about ten other bags trying to come through before it all but exploded out onto the wheel, and then they had let it go around once before they actually picked it up, laughing at the expression on other people's faces. Then they walked out into the country, and with Dante holding her bags, Harm was able to concentrate soley on looking around, Dante's hand in hers to ensure they didn't get separated. When he announced where they were, Harm gave a little bit of a happy squeal, and then leaned up to kiss his cheek. "Oh, so much trouble." Why not? |

Seeing how excited Harm was definitely kept the smile on his face. They needed a break and getting away from England in general was a good idea. "If you want to stop anywhere just say so." Not like he minded carrying the bags till they actually dropped off their stuff, and the fact he could shrink it if they were going to walk around for a bit, and just put it in his jacket pocket; magic was a wonderful thing. "I do have one thing planned for tonight, but it's your choice till then." Which that was hours away last he checked so time wasn't an issue. With what he had planned time wasn't necessarily an issue anyways. |

Harm just looked around her and laughed, "There's too many things to look at. I don't even know where to go! Right now I'm just... in awe. Do you know how to speak french?" Too many questions, too much excitement. She was all but bouncing as they continued, her curiousity sparked by his comment about having something planned for that night. "Oh?" She questioned, swinging their hands a little. "Like what?" It was just really incredible that his sisters had been willing to take the babies. Although Harm was a little nervous about just leaving them be for a few weeks, she was also extremely excited about the idea of just being with Dante. They hadn't been able to do that very much at all, all things considering. |

"Not at all. This should be interesting right?" Dante laughed. "What about you?" She was right though--there was tons of places they could see. Every little thing looked interesting because it wasn't England and it wasn't familiar. He felt a lot freer for a lack of a better word being there already. Not to mention the good mood he wasn't going to shake. "Like a surprise you're going to have to be patient for," he answered as he kissed her cheek. Knowing Harm he expected a whole line of questions and the fact she probably didn't want to be patient. As excited as he was for her reaction about it he didn't have much patience either. |

Harm smiled, "A little bit, a very base, base level. I haven't in a long, long time. We'll be fine though, the tourist thing is big enough here I'm sure they can speak at least rough english. We'll manage." There was a little flower stand on the rode, and she tugged Dante over there to purchase one. They were gorgeous, rich scarlet, fully bloomed roses, long stemmed, and Harm figured they could put it in their room, where they were headed. "Oh fineeee then." She told him, the smile growing on her face. She could be patient, right? Maybe... |

"I'll learn along the way," Dante reasoned. He could probably pick up basics and then hey, it was something new to know. As Harm tugged him in the direction of the flowers, he picked up one as she picked one up. Two was better than one right? After paying for those two he nodded at the man who they got them from. "Merci. Passez une bonne journée." So maybe he knew a little. Very little, but hopefully that came out as 'Thank you. Have a good day'. Only polite no? Glancing at Harm he shrugged his shoulder's with the smallest of grins on his face he started to lead the way again with a flower in hand. |

Harm's eyebrow went up as, after Dante had picked up a second rose and paid for him, he said something. She thought she could pick it up, and he was just thanking him, but either way that was more French than he had claimed to know. It was called a romantic language for a reason, and as they walked away, Harm teased, "That was pretty sexy, I'm not going to lie. I'm calling you out though; that's so not 'not at all'." Nope. That was a full sentence and pronunciation and everything. Liar. She laughed, continuing walking. |

Dante laughed at the first comment and simply stopped walking for a moment as he stood in front of Harm and then leaned closer to whisper in her ear. "Vous etes tres belles." Leaning away he was somewhere between grinning and smiling. "You get that?" Taking her hand again he added, "Well I thought I couldn't remember it. I mean my mum tried to teach us but I had better things to do. Apparently some of it stuck." Or more than he thought. Liz liked to put note cards of what things were in French though around the house in some weird attempt to get it to stick. He hadn't thought he paid enough attention to understand. |

Harm wrapped her arms around Dante's neck when he stopped and stood in front of her, tilting her head as he leaned in to listen to what he was saying to her. Self-teach books came back to her slowly, taking her a moment to understand what he was saying, and then she leaned in to kiss him. He moved so they continued walking, the grin staying on her face as she followed. "I look pretty?" Harm shrugged a shoulder, trying to remember everything she had learned herself. "I guess so. That's good though. It might help us a little, if we decide to go away from the tourist-trap areas." And as she had said before, it was pretty hot. |

Dante kissed Harm back, nodding after she had figured it out. "The general gist of it yeah," he responded. Maybe it was the place too just bringing back what he had learned. Possibility. He wouldn't use the language anywhere else anyways. "Maybe you'll pick up on it too. After being around people speaking it you just kind of get it sometimes." He shrugged his shoulder's and backtracked to her being patient about the surprise. "The surprise by the way? You'll need that dress I got you for Christmas." |

Harm grinned, happy that she had gotten it right, or at least, somewhat right, and went back to looking around her as they continued down the streets. She wasn't sure even where they were heading, though she was making sure not to exactly spend too much time looking at one thing or another. He was still carrying their bags and she knew hers, at the very least, was heavy. "That's why language professionals are encouraged to spend time in the country that speaks their language." She agreed, "Hopefully I will a little. That'll be fun to teach the kids." When he brought the surprise back up, Harm wiggled a little in her step and accused, "You're just trying to make me ask a million questions and be antsy about it because you know how much I like knowing things." But of course, the mention of that gorgeous dress just made her smile, and she said, "It's a perfect fit, by the way. I tried it on before we left." |

"They'll be keeping secrets in french before we know it," Dante teased. He knew Ang would at least be excited once she knew even a sentence and she'd want to recite it to the other kids when she saw them. "I'm glad you like it." He had currently been keeping track of streets to since he wanted to surprise Harm with what hotel it was. You couldn't miss it that was for sure and thus paying attention in order to cover her eyes before hand. As close as they were it could come in sight so he grinned as he stepped behind her to put his hands over her eyes. "Just keeping walking a few steps. You won't bump into anything, I'll make sure of it." It was mostly hidden behind another building from their vantage point, but since she didn't know it was it she probably wouldn't have realized it. It was only a couple steps ahead and he stopped. "Alright. You ready?" On purpose Dante waited a moment before pulling his hands away. "Hotel Lutetia." |
