![]() ![]() ![]() Re-decorated all by hand!. . .Okay that's a slight lie, I mean the healers did tell her that she was to avoid any heavy lifting for six weeks right? White furniture being kept to a minimum, the flat is a splash of colors, the guest bedroom being left as a blank canvas for whoever wants to visit or sleep there to decorate to his or her preference (they will, no doubt, use magic instead). Very open and airy, Amaris's flat is finally a place to call home for her. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Amaris pushed open the door slightly as she held in her breath. This was it. The moment of truth was at hand. Phew, you can do this. She thought to herself, as she brought up enough will power to push open the door completely with a new found force. She stood face to face with her new life, a life without her pretentious mother breathing down her neck, a life of indepedence, a life of freedom. Freedom presented itself in the form of a quaint little two bedroom flat. Amaris herself didn't need the two bedrooms, but she was bothered and pestered into oblivion by her cousins Richard and Sebastian, on the basis of "you never know what could hapen". Waking up to those two dueling every saturday morning was something that she would definitely NOT miss from living in that pesky, crowded (in her opinion), 6 bedroom house. Nor would she miss her mother, constantly telling her to remember to apply her anti-frizz potion to her hair every.single.night. She would miss her dad though, even if he's bordering on mental-delusion. And so with that, Amaris spun around, arms flailing in the air and let herself fall down on the couch of her already furnished flat, she was too lazy to go buy some real furniture, propped her feet up on the coffee table and proceeded to eat a couple of lemon drops she bought on the way over here. "Look out world, 'cause Amaris is in town." She muttered silently to herself, to delusional to even care that she probably sounded like an over-used cliche. Day one of her life as the new Amaris Tudor began. Edited by Amaris Tudor, Aug 8 2009, 11:41 PM.

Amaris was tired. Extremely tired; the fact catching up to her once Gryphin had walked away. Speaking of Gryphin. . . actually she didn't know quite what to think at this point, she would After two minutes of trying to put in the key backwards, (a miracle she even made it up the stairs actually) she corrected it and muttered a curse under breath before opening the door, entering and then closing it behind her, not bothering to lock it like she usually did. She just wanted to get to her bed. Except the bed was too far away. So she kicked off her shoes, took off her jacket and collapsed on the couch. Except once her back had make contact with the oh so comfortable cushions she was wide awake. Oh for Merlin's sake how is this even possible? she thought to herself as she got back up with a huff. Picking up her shoes and her jacket she walked to her room and threw them into the closet, before changing out of her current clothes and into more comfortable, sleeping ones. She didn't really buy pajamas, or nightgowns for that matter just shorts and shirts that were too big for her and used those to sleep in. She figured she should have probably taken a shower, seeing as how she had felt hideous and sweaty but a shower would probably make her much more awake than she already was. She went over to Nightingale's cage and petted her owl. She hooted soothingly at her, noticing that she was somewhat stressed. Amaris smiled at her friend and unlocked the cage. Nightingale leapt onto Amaris' waiting arm and Amaris walked over to the window and said to her, "Don't bring the rodents in here, please" to which her owl just responded by nipping lightly at her fingers. Amaris opened the window and watched her owl fly away, before turning away and looking at her bed. She jumped into her bed and tried to will herself to go to sleep for at least an hour before she gave up, reached over to her nightstand, grabbed her journal and pen and started writing. The walk from wherever it is they were standing to her flat was a long and arduous one. Bradley kept trying to make small talk, and she was trying to ignore him. It got to the point where she got so annoyed that she told him that everytime he spoke she was deducting ten seconds from his alloted time. That, at least, had managed to keep him quiet until she got to her flat. She kicked the door to her flat open (she had been practicing her kick-boxing a lot more frequently recently) and once she had put her potion supplies down, she took her wand out of her back pocket and reparo'ed the lock on the door. She ignored Bradley's comment of how he would have opened the door without having to break it, and went to the kitchen to get herself a glass of water, Bradley followed closely behind. "I would offer you something to drink but that would mean you were an appreciated guest." she stated while she was pouring herself a tall glass of water. She chugged down the whole thing in four seconds, before sitting down on her kitchen counter, finally turning to look at him. "Alright, what's the deal? Why are you here?" To think that after he had spent Merlin knows how many weeks trying to locate Amaris, she turns out to be living not even fifteen minutes from him. He didn't know whether he was deeply amused or deeply irritated. He was, however, amused at the rather violent way in which Ama did open the door. "You know, I could have opened the door without breaking it." he chuckled as she ignored him. As she walked further in her flat and into the kitchen, he followed her silently, trying to think of the best way to say what he had come here to say. He didn't even respond to her comment, he didn't even notice it was supposed to be rude. He cleared his throat, trying to find the right words to say. He looked up at Amaris and just said whatever came out of his mouth first, "Our daughter is alive. She was kidnapped." Well he wasn't known for his subtlety. At the utterance of those words, Amaris' emotions were in such a state of flux that the glass cup that Amaris was holding shattered in her hand. Whether it was because of her increased grip on said glass, or because she lost control of the magic, she didn't know. She didn't care. She didn't even care when a shard of glass cut into her palm. Bradley seemed to care, however, as he started to move towards her. She however stopped him by raising her unwounded hand. She felt sure that if he got within arms' reach of her she would punch him or stab him with the same shard of glass. "You're lying. You're lying!" her words had come to a shout by the second time she had said it. "Our daughter died during childbirth, which by the way in case you don't remember, left me an inch from death. The healer and your mother took care of the cremation, seeing as how I was catatonic for two months, severely depressed for another. After I left Spain and returned home, I cried every day for Merlin knows how many months. I still have nightmares that keep me up for days on end. Hell, only a month ago I collapsed on the floor of St. Mungo's lobby in a nervous breakdown because of the death of the same child you now tell me ISN'T dead! I have spent every waking moment trying to forget your existance, and everything about those four years I spent in Spain." Throughout her rant she had stood up from the counter and walked towards Bradley. Right now she was only less than one foot away from him, tears threatening to burst forth, waiting for his reaction. "And you expect me to believe you?" |

Bradley had expected a reaction like that. Well, not the whole 'break-the-glass-and-stab-myself' part. But everything else, he had been prepared for. Actually, not exactly. He hadn't been prepared for how mad he would feel. Not mad at her of course, definitely not, maybe mad at himself. He knew he should be feeling guilty or ashamed, but he wasn't. When Amaris started walking towards him, he tensed up, once again fearing for his well-being. But she slowed down, and eventually stopped in front of him and finished what she had to say. For her question, he only had one simple thing to say. "Yes." That word had set her off, Amaris started punching and kicking at him. It was erratic and random, and it didn't harm him at all. She was that distressed. Bradley let her get her anger out before he took hold of both of her wrists and tried to stop her shouting whatever insults she was saying now. |

That simple answer to her question had angered her even further. Was that all he had to say? Yes? It was frustrating and maddening. She did the only thing that came to mind: she started punching him and kicking him. She grew even more upset, however, when she noticed his rather apathetic expression, and the fact that none of her blows to him caused him any pain. They just stained his white shirt with her blood. She was only barely aware of her shouting insults at him. They ranged from 'thickhead' to 'bastard', along with an addition of a few slightly more colorful words. As soon as her hands were detained at the wrists by Bradley, her rambling ceased, and she had stopped kicking him. He was about to pull her into a hug, when Amaris pushed him away, clutching at her injured hand. She didn't know what to think, she didn't know what to say, and she especially didn't know what to do. All she knew was that he had leave, immediately. "Get out." she whispered through clenched teeth. Bradley tried to walk up to her again, calling her 'Ris' in hopes of calming her down and putting a hand on her shoulder. Hell, he even offered to help heal her hand. She didn't need his help, she didn't need anyone's help. She needed to be alone so she immediately shrugged his hand off. His touch just made her feel even more sick. "Get. Out. NOW!" she yelled at him with a snarl. Bradley immediately backed away before relunctantly nodding and exiting out of her flat. Amaris grabbed her wand off the table and healed her hand before pouring herself a glass of something a lot stronger than water: vodka. After Merlin knows how many glasses, Amaris very stupidly threw the glass she was drinking from against the opposite wall with a frustrated/angered/resentful scream. Afterwards, she just slid down against the refrigerator door and hugged her knees close to her chest. After a few minutes she started crying, her sobs left her weak and shaking. She stayed like that for a few hours and by the end of it she didn't even know what she was crying about anymore. Everything just hurt. Edited by Amaris Tudor, Jun 11 2009, 09:29 PM.

The next day was, thankfully, a lot better than the previous one. She was able to sleep for nine hours in a row; she had forgotten how good it had felt to sleep. She was rather irked at her rather brute show of violence, and her hand still stinged slightly from her wound. She was glad she wasn't a muggle because stitches didn't sound pleasant at all. She was just getting out of the shower and was currently towel drying her hair when a dark-colored owl flew in through her window. Nightingale started hooting in annoyance from where she was perched, but Amaris didn't pay much attention as she walked curiously to the owl and took the stark white envelope, the owl flew away immediately. She untied the rather intricate ribbon and looked at the ticket confused before reading the letter. The letter left her even more confused. Was this some sort of free giveaway or contest? She hadn't entered anything. This all just seemed very odd. And the no wands rule made her slightly nervous. She had never been seperated from her wand from the moment she had received it twelve years ago. And yet, the idea of a weekend getaway was immediately very alluring. Just exactly what she needed. She looked again at the ticket in her other hand, and wondered idly the specific reasons for her being placed in third class. Well better than no class. She put the ticket back in the envelope and put the envelope on her nightstand. She then, for the first time in a while, reacted in a normal way: she went into her closet and spent a long while figuring out what she would pack. |

There was just something completely relaxing about going back home. For indeed, during her stay in St. Mungo's, she had already convinced herself that this was home for her. She couldn't imagine another place where she would feel more comfortable, well Hogwarts had been, but that part of her life was already far gone. As Amaris opened the door to her flat, she was immensely relieved that her cousins had offered to stay and house sit for her (even though they had only done so to escape their parents) because it was clean and in order and the glasses she had broken were reparoed. But a few things were off. First, there was a small pile of what she assumed were get-well gifts (she was slightly confused) and second, had her flat always been so. . .white? She would correct that immediately, as soon as possible. Nightingale then flew down to her and landed on Amaris' outstretched forearm. She stroked her head lightly and afterwards let Gale nip softly at her fingertips, her sign of affection. "I missed you too, Gale. Richard and Sebastian weren't horrible to you now were they?" she asked her owl while she walked into the kitchen to fetch an owl treat. Nightingale hooted in response and after eating the owl treat, flew out the window to hunt. Amaris looked down at the note her cousins left her, just a simple "Don't hesitate to ask for help and never accept random tickets for weekend getaways " and with a small smile, put it aside. She then looked at the invitation for a fundraiser gala? Costume shopping, wonderful. Something else to add to her to do list. Along with buying paints, paintbrushes, new furniture, hammer, etc. for refurbishing her flat. Afterwards she looked at the small pile of gifts and sat down on the table and looked through them. Flowers, chocolate, get-well-cards, all from her family members. And yet they couldn't just stop by the hospital, weren't they wonderful? And yet there was another one, a gift-wrapped box, with a simple card that only read 'Because I know your hatred for shopping. . .' Amaris blinked in a confused way before unwrapping the box, tossing aside the wrapping paper and opening the box. Inside there lay a dress, a rather short and white dress, resembling some form of superhero or goddess. . .and in the bottom the shoes which confirmed it; greek goddess. Amaris, now more confused than ever picked up another folded car that was below the shoes and read it outloud "Aphrodite. Fitting, eh?" Well, at least she had a costume now. Although she was kind of wary of accepting any kind of free anonymous gifts anymore. And yet if Sebastian and Richard hadn't found anything wrong, then she wouldn't worry. They probably bought her the costume themselves. And this was a perfect excuse to wear her blonde wig that was given to her as a gag gift ("let your outward appearance match your inner one, Amaris!"). Leaving the costume at the table, Amaris just got up and headed to her bathroom where she was going to take a long awaited shower and refrain from drowning herself. |

--&&-- She wasn't sure what on earth posessed her to redecorate her flat when she was out of the hospital, but she was finding it increasingly difficult to start on the task. She had been staring at the supplies for more than a few minutes now; trying to remind herself again why she was going this the muggle way. She had already 'cheated' and vanished every piece of furniture (well except the kitchen and bathroom appliances) and spread out a white sheet covering the floor with magic. Now the painting of the walls and the choosing of the furniture was going to be done by hand. One would think she was trying to distract herself. Nightingale's hooting snapped Amaris out of her daze as she turned her head to the door; someone was knocking. Standing up from the floor, Amaris pulled her shorts down and yelled out a simple 'coming!' while she walked over and opened the door. She had the sudden urge to slam it. "Oh, it's you." "Expecting someone else?" he questioned with a bemused grin on his face, while Amaris hesistantly stepped aside to let him and Franco in. Brad looked around noticing the absense of furniture and the painting supplies. "Like what you've done with the place." he said in a joking manner, he had the tendency to do that right before he had to start talking about serious manners. He hated being serious. "You know why we're here." Obviously, the one thing- sorry, person- that still held them together after all these years. |

Franco merely nodded a brief hello at Amaris as she let them enter her flat. He was glad that she seemed to be alright, although he doubted what they were here to discuss was going to keep her that way. And if Bradley kept trying to be funny, he wouldn't wait for Amaris to punch him, he would do so himself. Franco sighed, exasperated with his friend. "What he means to say is, we have more information about your daughter. Helpful information, we might be able to actually get somewhere with this." |

No response was probably the best response to give to Brad's questions and comments, well the ones that didn't matter at least. Which in this situation meant the majority of them. After Brad and Franco had entered her flat, she closed her eyes and took a deep breath before closing the door- suprisingly not slamming it. Everytime she heard the words 'your daughter', her heart practically stopped beating, her breath got caught in her chest and she would stiffen up momentarily. Those words have forever had the same effect, only this time it didn't cause her unbelieveable pain, or grandous joy- no it was more of a sense of the surreal and it made her more nervous than a ferret around a hipogriff. Hipogriffs ate ferrets right? "Go on." she told them while sliding down to sit on the floor, waving at them so they could do the same. She guessed this would be difficult to take in all at once, and she didn't want to collapse. |

Bradley sighed, apparently one couldn't try to loosen up the conversation at first. At least not with Amaris and Franco- the king and queen of conversation. What was so great about talking anyways, he could find a couple of more useful things to do with his mouth. Like right now, for example, he needed a stiff drink, or a cigarette. Or both. Sitting down cautiously next to Amaris on the floor, Bradley thought it best if he were to speak first. Well, Franco thought it best, seeing as he was glared and elbowed by said person. Mother Franco always knows best, then. And when he remembered that he needed to start from the beginning, he sighed in annoyance. "A couple of months ago, a man by the name of Jose Gonzales. . ." He told Amaris everything. Starting with how Jose Gonzales had confessed to kidnapping their daughter, how Franco interrogated him, how they had no idea who had hired Gonzales to commit his crime, and how they made the decision to move to England to find Amaris. The other part of the story, however, was Franco's to tell. So he merely glanced at Franco and nodded his head, Franco started talking as well. |

Sitting on the floor of an almost empty flat, discussing the kidnapping of the daughter of his friends- and yet this wasn't the oddest and most messed up thing that had happened during his stay in London. Not by a long shot. Franco watched intently for Amaris's reactions to everything that Brad was saying but her face was stone cold, impenetrable even. It was at times like this where one had to admire her courage, and also completely abhor it. As Brad nodded at him to start with his explanation, he did so. Explaining to Amaris how he talked to Gonzales again, found out the Healer Riveras had medically knocked her out, taken the baby and given it to Gonzales, and he was supposed to kill the baby but a sudden change in plans told Gonzales to drop off the baby at a location. Franco hesitated a bit before he said the location, "The baby was dropped off at the Cox's summer home" |

Well she was right, if she had been standing then she definitely would be on the floor if she weren't on the floor already. She kept her eyes looking straight ahead, counting backwards from 100, in french, because that took more of her concentration. She was not going to snap and she was most definitely not going to cry. She was, however, going to exert some harsh physical violence on Healer Riveras if she ever got her hands on him. Amaris's eyebrows furrowed together at the mention of the drop-off location. The only people that knew of the Cox summer home were, of course, the Cox family, Franco and herself. Franco didn't do it, Bradley didn't do it, she most definitely did not do it. Those freaking bastards. "Those ~censored~ bastards." she growled out as she came to the logical conclusion. "Are you saying that your own family did this?" |

As soon as Franco finished recounting the information, Bradley flinched at the reaction that the last uttered sentence would surely elicit from Amaris. What he didn't expect was to be mad at her suspicion, especially when he had been just as equally suspicious a couple of weeks ago. "There is no evidence." he murmured through clenched teeth, knowing that Franco clearly thought otherwise, and was therefore probably going to say something else to further incriminate his family. Well this was just bloody fantastic. They didn't have much of anything and the only speculation that they did have pointed at his own family's wickedness. Because Amaris didn't have reason enough to hate them already. |

"But it could be a possibility, and the one that makes more sense." he added to Brad's response to Amaris's question- even if he guessed she really didn't want it answered. He knew Amaris's blind hatred had probably already told her that Bradley's family was to blame even if they hadn't actually proven anything. Actually, Franco was quite counting on that, seeing as how he was quite sure the Cox family had kidnapped the baby. What they did with the child afterwards, however, bothered him. What if their daughter wasn't alive after all? Yes, Gonzales hadn't killed her, but what if. . . No, he couldn't allow his thoughts to stray there. That was practically unbearable for him, not to imagine for his friends. The best thing we can do right now is track down Healer Riveras. Amaris, that's where you come in." Auror training works for something at least. |

No evidence, ha, her ass! Why were they standing around for? They had basically just enough incriminating information to be able to go question that horrible, wretched, wicked, ghastly, dreadful family. Although with her bias they were probably not going to get anywhere but insulting them down to their very last skin cell. Once Amaris was able to calm down, he saw the logic in Franco's words. Yes, they had to track down, question, and possibly even take him by force- Oh Merlin she needed to stop hanging out with criminals. "Not a problem, do you have any doc-" she stopped mid-sentence when Franco handed her a folder that he had been keeping hidden. Amaris took it with a brief nod and started leafing through it while she stood up. I'll look over these more in depth and get back to you once I have a lead." They looked a bit a surprised at her current attitude, maybe they were expecting her to start crying. They should know better than that. "If you'll excuse me, gentlemen I have a flat to redecorate." she stated after walking towards the door and opening it, inclining her head to show them to leave. She worked better alone, and while she had no qualms with them at the moment she saw no reason for them continue visiting. With a small goodbye they exited out of her flat. Amaris then put the folder down on the kitchen counter and turned to her paint cans and brushes again with a sigh and thought about which color would be better for the living room- red or green. |

--&&-- After that very bizarre and awful wedding ceremony, Amaris was feeling rather sick. Not the kind of sick because an event, person, or idea didn't sit well with you (the wedding itself, for instance) but the sick that comes with having a bacterial or viral infection that left you clutching the sacred porcelain appliance in an almost loving way, made you question your ability to continue living without said appliance. She hated being sick, especially hated throwing up, but it did give her an excuse to leave the wedding early. Hurray for bodily disruptions. Franco had taken her home, he really was too sweet for his own good, and they had both just entered her newly decorated flat. Realizing that she had pulled Franco away from free food and drinks, Amaris gestured towards the kitchen and told him, "Feel free to eat anything you like, I'm just going to go change." She had already abandoned her heels near the door, and started slipping out of her dress even before entering her room, not caring if Franco was there. Besides, he's seen her during worst times anyways. Once she was in her room, not bothering to close the door, she finished slipping out of her dress and tossed it. . . somewhere, leaving her to walk around her room in her strapless black bra and matching underwear. She headed over to Nightingale and her perch, a lovely gift from Sebastian and Richard who agreed that Gale couldn't very well remain in a cage all the time, and gently stroked her feathers, while Gale hooted. "Hi Gale, how are you?" A soft hoot in response, "Mum's had a tough night." She kept petting her owl as she reached into the dresser and pulled out a couple of owl treats, feeding them to her. "Coco's here. Do you remember Coco? Go bother him." Nightingale was the Cisinerros brothers' present to her for her 20th birthday after all. Right on cue, however, Nightingale flew out of her room to go bother him. Hence why Amaris didn't close doors. With a small chuckle, she made her way into the bathroom to wash her face and brush her teeth, and opened the mirror cabinet to look for her toothbrush when all of the contents spilled out instead. Throwing her back and groaning silently in exasperation, Amaris ran a hand through her hair before she started picking up her cosmetics and other things that fell out of cabinet and putting them back. Then, her hands grabbed a hold of a small and familiar box. A box of tampons, scary even under normal circumstances because it's the very thing one would burn in effigy if protesting the misogynistic aspect of nature, is even scarier when you realize you haven't been needing them for almost two months. Amaris's eyes widened considerably as she tried to verify that time period, it couldn't possibly be two months. She had been so busy what with the whole death cruise, the maze from hell, trying to find her 21 month old daughter, dealing with her job and Brad and Franco that it hadn't even crossed her mind that there was a crucial aspect of life missing- cramps. Dropping the box, Amaris felt sick yet again, and dropped to the floor, opening the lid of the 'sacred porcelain appliance' she threw up, yet again for the fourth time that night. If she were being optimistic she would have blamed her missed menstrual period on distress or anemia, and her vomiting on the stomach flu or something of the like. Life, however, wasn't really very fond of her (either that or it just loved to see her suffer) so she was probably. . .oh, Merlin. . . "FRANCO!" Edited by Amaris Tudor, Aug 9 2009, 05:04 AM.
