Where all premature babies come to spend a little more time developing before they are sent out into the world --------- Addy had gotten a call from Mungo's saying she was requested at the incubation room. She was sure it was a mistake, because they said that the little boy Beth had given birth to would die within hours. So why were they calling her now, a month later? Oh well. She walked into the room to see so many little tiny babies lying in glass cages, or boxes, the word escaped her. But they were all there, fighting for their lives. As she walked past them all, the one at the end simply said 'Channing'. At first, Addy thought it was a mistake. This couldn't be the same Channing, could it be? |

[[NPC Addy's Cousin Lyle Channing]] Lyle had gotten to the incubation room not too long ago, he saw Addy walk in, and hesitantly walked over to her. With his typical smile on his face, he looked at her confused look. "Didn't expect to see that, did you?" he asked, looking both at Addy and at the little boy in the small little box. He was so teeny, it was unbelievable. |

Addy was staring at the little boy and didn't realize that someone was talking to her until she heard the last little bit. "Lyle!" she said, jumping to give him a hug. It was meant to be a happy hug, but realizing the pain Lyle must be going through, she broke it off. "How've you been?" she asked, knowing exactly though. His sister just died, how else would he feel? Addy knew how she would feel if Jennipher passed away, and her and Lyle were pretty close personality wise. But she still didn't hear what he said. |

Lyle smiled. The old Addy was definitely present here, because she was giddy and happy. "Addy," he said, not too excitedly, and at the same time full of the immense love that he felt for her. They were normally pretty close, the closest in age of the cousins, them and Kaytlin. So he was glad to see her, but not under these circumstances. "Well, I've been better. It's a tad difficult looking at your nephew and realizing that he'll never meet his mother," Lyle said, holding back tears like he did so well. Never the emotional, Lyle was. He definitely got that from his father. |

Addy tried her best to smile at Lyle, but next to his smile, there was no comparison. They way it shaped his face, it would make anyone else's smile feel inferior. But she tried her best anyway. Lyle was probably one of her favorite cousins, which just made this a little bit harder for her. "So this is...this is him?" she said, not physically able to say her name or the relationship that they had. Sure, this little boy was not super closely related to her, but at the same time she felt like she owed something to him. He was too darn cute, and he had lasted so much longer than they thought he would. |

"Yes, this is him," Lyle said, knowing that if he said his sister's name then he would probably choke and start crying. But he couldn't do that, he had to be strong, no matter how hard it was going to be. And it was definitely going to be hard, especially with this little boy around him. Lyle looked at Addy sympathetically. "He's actually why I called you in here. You see, he's lasted way longer than they expected, and they're thinking he's most likely going to be a okay. Like, a 98 percent chance, so pretty good. But now, I need to think of a name, which I need someone's creative genius to help me with," he said, adding a small little nudge at the end about creative genius. She was the most creative of the bunch, but neither of them were really super creative. |

Addy looked down at this little boy, so small, and yet at the same time he was actually kind of big, at least compared to the rest of the children in this room. It was sad, but at the same time, she knew that these little kids would grow up to be fighters. Hopefully, they fought for the right team. "So basically, we need a name," Addy said. Without even thinking about it, she just blurted out "Did Beth tell you any she might want?" At even the mention of her name, tears began to form in Addy's eyes. She wasn't so good with death, ever, and she never has been. Edited by Adelaide Harrington, Jan 13 2009, 10:26 PM.

Lyle looked at Addy and nodded, but in hearing Beth's name, he couldn't help himself. He sank into a chair on the other side of the hallway and tears began to roll down his cheeks. Everyone thought that he was such a man, he could take this, but honestly, it was truly painful and challenging. When he got the courage to speak, Lyle answered Addy's question. "One. She always loved the name Dean. When she was little, all of her dolls were named Dean, and whenever she had to write a story the guy's name would be Dean," he said. That was one thing he would probably never forget. He hoped that he wouldn't forget anything about her. |

Addy, seeing Lyle begin to cry, started crying herself. She couldn't help herself whenever someone around her was crying. So she went over and sat in the chair next to Lyle, trying to comfort him as best she could. That was never her strong point, it was always Jennipher's job to be the comforter. But seeing as she wasn't here, it was her job. "Then Dean it is. What about a middle name? Maybe Kenneth?" Addy said, trying to form a smile. Kenneth was their cousin, and one of Beth's favorite cousins. Probably because he was so cute and young that she loved acting like she was his mom. She did that really well, played mom. |

Lyle smiled at Addy as best he could, considering the last of the tears were streaming down his face, and he realized that he was so glad he called her here. He would have never of thought of Kenneth, she was a genius. "Dean Kenneth it is then," he said with a smile. Dean Kenneth Channing, his new little nephew. "I'll go tell the nurse that. You stay strong Addy, you need to. I know you can. And say hi to Jennipher for me. Oh, and I hear Kayte's back in town? We should do something together." he said with a smile. For old time's sake, get the three of them together. That would be awesome. |

Addy smiled at her new second cousin. He seemed to visibly brighten up after Lyle said his name, like he already knew it. She was amazed on how that worked, like they're already accustomed to it. But honestly, right now, she didn't really care. "We definitely do. Kayte and Karly have this new restaurant open, we should crash it one night!" Addy said with a smile. It wouldn't be crashing, but it would still be fun. They'd make a scene and all, it would be pretty awesome. "I'll see you later Lyle," she said, giving him one last hug, standing up, saying goodbye to Dean, and walking out of the hospital. |

"That would be hysterical! She'd get so angry!" Lyle said, standing up as well. He hugged Addy back, waved to Dean, then walked over to the nurse who was standing there. Dean Kenneth Channing. An adorable little kid. |

Jen hadn't actually managed to rest all that much, but she had convinced the nurse to at least let her visit Aiden. It was sad to see him in the incubator but he was doing alright according to anyone she had asked. It didn't erase a lot of Jen's worries but for now she was sitting on one of the chairs in the room simply staying close to him. She wasn't even sure if she was allowed to hold him, but then again she was afraid she'd hurt him if she did. |

Conner knockesd on the door and peeked his head in, looking t Jen and Aiden worridly. "You okay?" He asked, biting his lip. He had only found out that she was giving birth early a few minutes ago and ran here, even forgetting that he could apparate. |

Jen hadn't even glanced at the door considering she just thought it was another nurse or something. Hearing Conner though she glanced at him almost apologetically. She hadn't even asked him to be there had she? But she had reasons; it was just hard to say if that was good or bad. She glanced at Aiden again who was asleep for now and sighed as she folded her arms across her chest. "We're both okay," Jen answered. She probably had to explain what was going on completely but for now she settled with that as a answer. |

Conner sighed. "That's good. I was very worried." He leaned against the door way and relaxed. He was very scared about the two. |

Jen wasn't sure if it was just left over emotions from everything that had happened and all the current stress, but she wasn't all that happy with Conner's comment. Maybe it was just herself thinking it didn't sound true but as it was she checked on Aiden and made sure the nurse knew she was going back to her room before walking to the door. "I'm sure," she said dryly, then brushing past him and out of the room. |

Jen had asked so many questions over the time she had been there and, for the most part, gotten answers. Talking to Aiden made her feel better since she knew then he would know she was there. For the most part he was doing alright except he had some trouble eating. That was probably the one reason he was still being kept there amongst other things like his weight which he was steadily gaining everyday. It was hard at first to see him laying in the incubator so helpless and small, but Jen learned in the end it would have helped him. Today though a nurse allowed her to hold Aiden and now she sat on one of the rocking chairs with him carefully held in her arms. The IV in his hand was something Jen had learned to ignore. He was so tiny and she was really afraid it was hurting him, but Aiden was peacefully sleeping. "Your big sisters are going to love you," she told him. "When I get you home you can meet them." She smiled as Aiden yawned, or rather it seemed like he did. "My little fire right? You got the strength of one." For now Jen was content to have him in her arms till the nurses came to whisk him away for some other test. She would just feel a lot better when Aiden was finally home and life could go back to normal. |

Will stood in the doorway, watching as nurses, acolytes and a healer all crowded around his son's incubator. He was definitely glad Lara didn't see any of this, he knew it would upset her. As the crowd dissipated, Will slipped on one of the masks and moved into his son's bedside. The poor guy had a breathing and feeding tube in him. Monitors were stuck to him, and an IV in his head. It was harder to look at a child like this than it was to witness his birth. Will sanitized his hands and slipped one in through the hole in the side and took his hand. "Hey bud... its your dad here, just wait until mum gets a look at you, she's so happy that eventually you will come home." He told the baby, hoping he could hear him. "Promise me you'll hang on, okay? I am going to go get mum so you two can meet." He asked the little boy and put the tiny hand down gently. Will moved from his son's side in order to go get Lara. |
![]() Thanks to ANNA for the awesome sig! 5 Reasons I should accept Lara and the baby: 1) I am madly in love with her still 2) It is my baby after all 3) I am willing to pay child support, so why not go one step further and be a dad to the baby? 4) I am hurting Lara more than helping her 5) Did I mention I am madly in love with her and she is always on my mind? | |
