4, 3, 2, 1, I am letting you go.
An owl flew through the window and landed, waiting for Ryan to see.

Dearest –

I’m writing to you, at long last, to tell you that I’m so sorry for staying away so long. They won’t let me leave – first the cancer, then the baby. But now I’m writing to you, asking you please, don’t be angry with me for taking a long time to write to you, to tell you that I’m at St. Mungo’s – I’m actually kind of surprised you haven’t found me yet. Have you been looking?
Not to insult you, I’m sure you have been looking and Chris just did an excellent job of hiding me away from the world. Anyway, darling, I miss you so much… the baby is due any day now. Please, come see me – you’ll be able to find me easily, now that you know I’m at Mungo’s.
Don’t stay away too long I miss you more even now. I’m so sorry for not writing sooner… I love you.

She's smiling. Is she happy?

Ryan had returned to the home only for a moment or two. He was positive that Meredith wasn't going to be there, but as he had just about had it with Martha's snide predictions of his son's birthdate- he was both looking for space and looking to throw himself a pity party (in all honesty).

Except even that made him smile slightly. Meredith had said that once. "We can throw our own private pity party." And he'd suggested they do so with cake. He had suggested cake. Cake and ice cream. It was just more proof --

That was an owl.

He paused for a full four minutes, before finally closing his mouth and leaping over the couch (hitting his foot on the end table), and practically collapsing against the desk (or barreling head front into it), before he picked up the letter.

Upon reading it, he wasted absolutely no time in disapparating.

bite the hand that feeds / tap the vein that bleeds.
I'd break the back of love for you.
it's in the water, baby, it's between you and me.
