I opened the door and got out, stretching a little bit, then turned around.

"Well Ella, you are about to drive. Simple as that."

I smiled at her.

"Drive? Me? How can I do that?" Ella asked him incrediously. "I haven't any idea about anything about cars."

"Well that is why I am here to show you."

I stepped around the back side of the car and opened the passenger door and helped her out.

"All you have to do is listen to me. There is nothing but room and opportunity out here, you'll be fine. I mean, you trust me right?"

"Of course I do," Ella told him as she got out of the car. "Question is do I trust myself." She laughed slightly.

I grabbed Ella's hand and brought her around to the driver's side and helped her get in, shutting the door behind her.

"Alright, hang on."

I rushed over and got in the passenger's seat and shut the door.

"Ok, so here we go. The only thing you need to do is listen to me, and look where you are going, simple enough right?"

"Everything sounds simple before you actually do it," Ella reminded him as she looked at him once he was in the car too.

"It is simple, you just have to think simply, and not add complexities to it. Ok, so your first step is to put your right foot on the brakes. Which is the pedal to the left, where your feet are. You'll notice there are two pedals there. One to stop, one to go. Simple enough, right?"

I knew it was going to take some getting used to, but Ella had determination in her that always reflected her image. I'm sure this would be no different.

"Yeah simple right now, and then dangerous later," Ella told him as she followed his instructions. At least there weren't like....four pedals, or more then that; Two was plenty to worry about as far as she was concerned.

"Alright, this is what you need to do. Put your foot on the left pedal, and hold it there. The gear shift," I pointed towards the middle console where the gear shift was located, "you'll notice the letter 'D' lit up. All you have to do is keep your foot on the brake and move the shift to the D. It's simple, just do what I say, and you'll, or rather, we'll be fine."

I leaned over the console and kissed her on the lips. I just rolled over in my mind to stress the fact that she should listen to me, but I ended up chuckling at the sight of this. Ella Morvanna behind the steering wheel of a Lotus a.k.a. the Bumblebee. What a sight for sore eyes.

Ella laughed after he had kissed her, then saying with it, "Is that supposed to like...make me less stressed about doing this? 'Cause it's only distracting." Sure to him it sounded easy, but he probably had done this a million times before. She had seen cars, but safely from a distance. Safely being the key word. "Don't let go of that, and move this shift...thing. Right," Ella had said absently as she did just that.

"Ok, simple enough. You just switched gears. Now all you need...." I paused and reached passed her to turn on the head lights. "Yeah, you might need to see where you are going. But as I was saying, all you need to do now is just lightly ease off of the brake but still keep your foot there just in case you want to stop. And when you do that, the car will slowly creep forward."

"You know we're doomed once it starts moving right? Just checking," she said and then shook her head. "No wonder I like apparation." Ella was definatly more comfortable with the staying still aspect at the moment, and waited a few moments before she did as he said, and sure enough the car started moving; Which only started up her unease of the situation all over again.

"Ha! You are driving. Ok, now do this, just ease back on the brakes, and the rolling will come to a stop."

I was kind of excited for her, mainly because I was introducing her to something new completely. Something that was my doing, something she'd remember. Whether it be a car or not, whether it be the castle or not, the time is now. And the moment is all that matters.

"Ok, so ease on the brakes, and just calmly get a feel for the pressure under your foot."

"Yeah 'cause I'm sure every muggle drives at a snails pace, Blaine," Ella said with a shaky laugh. Of course just because she had managed thus far, didn't mean it was going to stay that way. She figured she'd eventually mess up, and hitting the brake too hard? Yup. "Okay okay...sorry..... but at least it stopped."

My head jerked forward a little bit and then I just laughed.

"Ok, see, that's normal for anybody first learning to drive. It's no big deal at all. Now keep doing the same thing until you get a feel for it."

I leaned over and gave her a kiss, and then I stepped out of the car and shut the door.

"I'm not scared of riding with you, but I just know you get nervous with people in the car with you. So just think you and the car are working together on this, forget I am even here. There is nothing around but endless amounts of parking lot and it's all yours. So just keep trying to brake and let go, brake and let go, and whenever you think you got it down, try press the other pedal. Very lightly at first."

I grinned at Ella.

"Yeah well I can't guarntee I'll keep going straight, so you better stand somewhere far away so I don't run you over or something," Ella told him, not trusting herself or the car for that matter. After a few times it wasn't scary, it was frustrating; That in itself just made her want to get it right all that much more. Ella grinned when she did get the stopping right, that was at least one thing done well. "The things I do sometimes," she muttered as she tried all over again from what he first told her.

Well it wasn't that bad. Ella wouldn't call it simple, but it wasn't as bad as she figured. She knew well enough turn the wheel left go left, and so on and so forth, but she wasn't testing the limits.

I watched Ella as she slowly started getting a feel for it and she wasn't slamming on the brakes like she did before. I couldn't help but laugh and cheer her on as I watched her driving a car. A muggle instrument of transportation, and here she was, behind the wheel of probably the most innovative tool known to muggles. All that she had known, and now she dove into a world of the unknown. I cheered more and ran up to the car, walking beside it.

"Alright, well, seems like you got the idea down packed. So let's try something new."

I matched the pace of the car and jumped in the passenger side with her.

"You are going to learn how to drive a little faster. Maybe...30 miles an hour or so?"

"If I hit anything you're at fault for telling me to go faster," Ella reminded him though she smiled. Again she found it wasn't that bad, made her feel a bit uneasy still, but nothing major; And it wasn't that fast after all.

"Alright, all you need to do is just put your foot on the other pedal and press it. Now this is a pretty fast car, so don't dog it at first, just small baby steps and then work with the brakes to slow down. So go ahead and turn the car around, and let's go up and down the parking lot."

I looked over and grinned at her. She looked lovely in the night, almost captivating. Her ability to keep me focused was easily grasped because she had to do absolutely nothing. All she had to do was look at me and it brought me out of my own world with her.

"So whenever you are ready, let's race it."

I laughed.

Ella laughed. "You make it sound easy," she said. Of course she did manage to turn around, though at a very slow pace, which suited her just fine as far as she was concerned. Despite fear there was always the too great temptation to just hit the gas, because he did after all say it was a fast car; so how fast? Though she didn't dare attempt it. When she managed to twice go across the parking lot and turn back around for a third attempt, Ella stole a quick side glance at Blaine.

"You know, you should count yourself lucky really. I doubt I'd be so willing to try this for anybody else."
