The room is large, and lavishly decorated. The doors are large mahogany, the floors a dark marble, and a large fireplace matching the floors, its purpose only for flooing. Portraits of previous Ricci empires adorned the walls, and a rich, thick rug laid on the floor to attack the chill. Adjacent to the door is a large staircase leading to the upper floors, and on either side there are doors to the rest of the floor level. |

Keeley had come to Ricci Manor (not by choice at all) and ever since, she'd found herself sitting in the Foyer, staring at the fireplace. She hadn't been allowed to say goodbye to Cal, or Geej, she hadn't had a chance to do anything, he grabbed her, and they went. She worried about that first few days, how she had been running up the hills, racing Cal to the door...and then she'd just be...gone. But no one came, no one sent any letters, or anything, so she (in trying to make up an answer for it) decided that Geej must have heard them. Yet, wouldn't that mean, knowing how Niko was, that they'd come looking for her? She didn't know, all she knew was she stayed faithfully by the fire, waiting for someone to floo. She knew he parents were away, and she was okay with that. Grateful even, so maybe they won't see her this age. Niko had been continually hassling her, even when she wasn't in this room. Keeley just learned to ignore it. Shifting against the hard wall, Keels resumed her position, watching the crackling fire. It was strange, the easy way she was entrigued by its dancing flames, though it was nearly summer, it was beautiful outside. She wasn't moving, ever, she just sat there, day after day, waiting. Its been maybe two weeks since Niko technically kidnapped her. Keels sighed and went to stand up. They weren't coming. |

Cue, come in Nikolas. That was what he was thinking as he descended the rest of the stairs, and then paused looking at Keels. Really, really looking at her. She wasn't the annoying little girl anymore, until she started to speak. She had actually grown up quite beautifully. It wasn't a hassle at all to watch her, see the way her red hair twirled gracefully against her smooth, white neck. See the splash of color on her cheeks whenever she got flustered, or her full, rose lips pressing together in annoyance. Being quite the athletic girl, she was small, but it wasn't bad. Not in Niko's eyes at least. And though he was mean to her most of the time, it was just to see her eyes flash in annoyance. They changed colors, depending on what she was wearing. Anything from a light green blue, to sapphire he had seen in the first few days. Now they were grey. Stormy grey as she noticed him. Curious, he decided to use a new tactic. Perhaps if he treated her differently, she wouldn't be so useless. "Its a relatively warm day outside Keladira, why are you sitting inside?" |

"You know why." Keels just answered immediately. They'd had this discussion before, her accusing him of locking the fireplace, or taking any letters, or anything like that. He'd allowed her to search all over the place, and once they had gotten her a wand, allowed her to check for spells. Of couse, he had to teach her how first, and that made her accuse him of teaching her useless spells. Soon enough she figured it out though; Niko wasn't being untrustworthy, they just weren't doing anything. Today, though the day was chill, she was wearing denim shorts and a tanktop. She did have a jacket over it, but she didn't seem cold. Then again, they were still inside, and she'd been sitting across from the fire. Her hair was pulled back in one thick braid, and her wand, her new, polished, barely used cherry wood wand, was held loosely in her hand. When one of the Ricci's made her leave the room, she'd simply gone to the library to begin to teach herself off of Niko's old schoolbooks. It was too much for her to really learn by herself though. "I don't feel like going outside. I assume you've come to tell me your mother's annoyed by how I'm sitting again? Or is it my clothes? I'm afraid I'm not going to change, wearing more than one outfit a day is frivilous." Her tone was dry, and she just crossed her arms. Idiot people. |

"Actually..." Niko walked further into the room, looking at another door for a moment, before finishing, "I was wondering if you'd like to continue your lessons. My parents aren't here today, so you don't have to worry about how you are sitting." He himself had been apointed a tutor for the two year he missed; but that was only on days where his father could watch to see how he was doing. This 'nice', or 'cordial' thing, it really wasn't as hard as it seemed, but everything he said was carefully thought out, calculating. "Afterall, we have five years to catch you up on..." He shrugged. It was surprising, her thirst for knowledge. Yet, he could understand it, somewhat. "Perhaps we can take the books out to the lake?" He suggested, slipping his hands into his jeans. Yes, jeans. With his parents gone, he had simply put on a pair of dark jeans and a black dress shirt. He had even taken the liberty of rolling up the sleeves, and leaving it untucked. |

Keels tilted her head at him. He was being strange. Nice, almost. Like he was just a human being. She nearly rolled her eyes at that thought, yet, another one came to mind. Maybe he was only such a brat to her all those years because his parents were watching everything he did? Maybe he was actually an okay person when they weren't around? She'd seen how his parents were. Merlin, she hated them. Yet, she really wasn't completely ready to trust him. As much as she wanted to, as much as that was her personality to like everyone, and give everyone second chances, and trust them, he was hard. But maybe, maybe she'd let this tell her what was okay. "By the pond?" That actually sounded like...fun. Studying outside, trying the spells outside? They had found that for the spells and charms that had to do with nature, she excelled at. "Okay." She decided, walking forward to stop in front of him, and stare for a moment, looking for mean intent. She didn't find anything but curiousity, so she looked back down, and looked at the door to the library. "What are you going to teach me today?" |

Niko simply nodded when she asked about the pond. He didn't see why not, it was dry enough to set the books down, and outside would be better incase she made a mess with the spells. As for what he was going to each her today, he thought for a moment, and then said, "Hold on." With that, he walked out of the room into the library, getting year three and four charms. They had been working on subjects, and she picked up the stuff rather quickly, though that was understandable as she was sixteen, not eleven. She could comprehend it easier. "Ready?" He asked with a smile, leaning the books against his side as he offered his arm to her. |

Keeley looked at the books, and nodded. Charms, okay, she could do that. They'd gotten through the first two years worth of books, once she figured out that she could reach each chaper, because a fair amount of it was theory, and then have Niko teach her the spell. In reality, it was relatively simple. She knew it would get harder though. "I guess so..." She hesitantly reached out to take the offered hand, and walked to the door, heading to the lake. This was wierd. |
