The Basics: Name: Grace Arielle Boheme Nickname: Gracie Birthdate: May 9th, 1981 (26) Birthplace: Parisian Hospital Work/Schooling: She worked for years as an “Angel Healer”, became a member of the Auror Trainee taskforce in France, and is transferring out of slight paranoia to England. Family Bloodline: Muggleborn, her family was a respectable size and lot. They didn’t speak of the Finches, who had a daughter, Jill about Gracies age, but they were an “odd sort”. Mother: Kathleen Boheme (Muggle, and devoted Catholic. She’s a stay at home missionary with her pamphlets, sewing circle, and book club. Prefect golden hair, and pearls. Disapproves of her daughters magical abilities, eventually made her peace with it. ) Father: Orson Boheme (“Married to his job” but the 9-5 clock, matching jogging suits, has a big golden retriever that he loves, and is excitable about travel and taking Kathie and Gracie to all sorts of places.) Siblings: None. Extended Family: She is the second cousin of Jill Finch, but “The finches” are not talked about. Jill is magical, and attended Hogwarts, after her family relocated from France due to family hatred. Jill is the opposite of “perfect Gracie”. Home: A suburb. “One of the houses on the row”- and she lived in an apartment while in the taskforce. About the character Appearance: (Hair) Long straight locks of golden hair that is always brushed and down. It’s also completely natural, NO additives or products at all. (Eyes) Large and wide, naturally creased to indicate immense kindness, chocolate brown in color. (Nails) Always manicured, French airbrushed design, sometimes swirly. NEVER chipped. (Build) small, lean, long legs, fairly endowed. (Make Up) Yes, she won’t go out of the house if her face isn’t made up. Foundation, pale and ivory. A light pink natural blush. A red cherry lip gloss, mascara, and creamy eyeshadow. (Favorite Accessory) She is never seen without her silver cross necklace, which was a gift at confirmation by her mother. (Favorite Outfit) A short pladd skirt that flips easily, a blouse that is light with a pretty open neck, ivory color with black heels. Mor often, she wears khakis and simple clean shirts. She carries a purse of silver with her wand, money, mints, make up, brush, and a murder mystery novel. She’s strangely obsessed with those.. Think Maggie Lawson Strengths: (minimum 2) Little Gracie is very gifted with spells and hexing, something you wouldn’t know just by looking at her. She speaks flawless English and French and she has a beautiful soprano voice- singing in the Church choir. As the perfect little Catholic School girl, she received straight A’s and attended ALL of the camp retreats so she is very in tune with nature. Her best magical subject was charms, and she has a very unassuming nature. She radiates perfection, being gifted with drawing, and sewing, and in particular? Baked goods. Weaknesses: (minimum 2) She can’t draw anything that is representational, only scenes straight from the Bible. And she utterly abhors werewolves and vampires..(and half humans, magical beings, except for unicorns) She also can be easily intimidated and frightened away, particularly from Earthly processions because she views everything as Gods. She’s always gotten the wrong idea about love, and it shows. She endeavors to be kind…but she sort of wants to kill every magical being ever. (that count as a weakness? :D) Her worst school subject was Transfiguration. Personality: (1 paragraph/5 lines) Gracie is like one of the creepy Stepfords. Her boyfriends were always the sort a mother dreams of, she went away to camp, receive straight A’s while in muggle schools. She didn’t attend Beauxbatons until the second year because she was ashamed of her magical abilities. She sings in Church and remains devout all the time, preaching about it, and won’t practice magic if she doesn’t need too. She’s a “good Catholic woman”, baking baskets of muffins, always helping out. She’s always smiling, somewhat eerily, and acts quite paranoid. You sort of get the idea that there has to be something going on underneath the surface because…she can’t really be that perfect. She makes everything look flawless, and easy, because it’s all a mask for her, all a disguise. She’s a downright scary person- not that anyone would even know it… She completely swaps around from being perfect- and is a total master manipulator…while she smiles and sips her chamomile tea at 4 pm precisely every day. Hobbies: Baking, sewing, healing, practicing spells, and planning. Pet: Her father has a golden retriever. She doesn’t own any pets- they are Gods creatures, not to be touched. Wand: Unusually short, 8 inches, willow and bendy, made of unicorn hair. (ohoh! Fairy dust! No.) School: Beauxbatons. House: N/A. Short History of The Character: (minimum 2 paragraphs) Gracie’s parents are “practically perfect in every which way” (to steal from Mary Poppins, which just happens to be one of her favorite movies of course. Kathie’s the real nutcase, she’s pounded every ideal of Fundamentalism into Grace’s head. Gracie did everything her mother said, and drunk in every word. She’d been in Catholic school since the age of four, and was an aide when she became too old at 13. At this point, her life had turned upside down when she’d gotten a letter from Beauxbatons, which explained that Gracies magical touch of cheering up the children was literally, magical. She didn’t attend her first year of Beauxbatons because she was so ashamed of her abilities. To Fundamentalists, using magic is a sign of Satanism. This means, that for Grace, she suddenly was a total sinner in her mothers eyes. Suddenly, the perfect child, who was so great with children, loved the easy bake oven, and spoke flawless languages was doomed to rot in hell forever. Grace, similarly ashamed, stayed home and remained in Muggle schooling for a year. Secretly, though, she was curious- and began to get the Prophet delivered to her house. This prompted her only to decide she hated the Wizarding world even more, due to the amount of violence, and death being reported daily to her window (and shock! By Owl! They’d enslaved creatures of God). She sat down with her mother, had a three hour conversation that would change her life. She decided that she had a reason she had these abilities, and the best thing to do was go to Beauxbatons and learn to control them. While Grace and Kathie never spoke aloud about what had passed between them, Gracie knew quite well what it was going to mean. Her absences were explained as ‘boarding school’ because of course, that is quite fashionable, and she returned to being devout. She tentatively would correspond with Jill, though this she kept from her mother, and eventually, she forgot all about her mothers wishes and views. She enjoyed herself at school, met wonderful guys, and continued to practice her religion. When she turned sixteen, her mother presented her with a strand of her own pearls to wear that beloved cross from. It wasn’t until she was twenty three that she started to resent her magic again, for the simple reason that when she graduated from Beauxbatons, Grace went to work as a “Faith Healer” for Muggles. After knocking them out, she’d cure them magically, and they praised her as an angel. Internally, this was more damaging then any of it had ever been. To the world, she was healing through God’s touch, and to herself, she was healing by “Satan”. She felt as though she were a complete and total hypocrite, despite all her wanting to do good in the world despite her magic. She gave up her position, and moved, to join the trainee dept. of the Auror’s in France. She was present for the first meeting with Anonymous three years ago…and let’s just say, it was a day that changed her life…. Primary Character: Abi Noel-Carter. |
