Brad chuckled softly and nodded in agreement, "Thank Merlin for it too, we might have needed to start a budget otherwise," he commented, mostly joking. But he had thirty-six weeks the Healer said? He was no doubt still going to be work from home, especially with triplets on the way but he would only add more money that they would need.

"You? Egg the situation on? You speak like you're some sort of wily temptress," he told her teasingly still, a small smirk on his face that quickly turned into a grin. Ella had her moments, and every time he was surprised. You never knew what she would say or do to catch him off guard and yet completely turn him on at the same time. Now would be a very bad time for that to happen- public place, a hospital nonetheless.

Hospital had supply closets right? They could lock it and- wait, no, focus.

A very difficult thing to do seeing as how Ella practically took off her shirt right then and there. "Yes...that one." He just stared on, until visual contact was broken when the shirt was fixed, and Brad just brought up his gaze to stare at her directly instead, smirk in place.

So much for trying to be serious; she distracted him. "Never enough bedrooms," he commented with a grin as he put his hands behind her knees and pulled her to him to the edge of the cot bed. "But actually, I didn't quite see, the sun was in my eye. I think you might have to show me again," he commented referring to the previous underwear comment, tugging on her shirt with a grin. Rose could stay with Belle and Jett for a bit longer right? Right, they needed to celebrate.

And speaking of egging on the situation... Which probably wasn't the best idea given where they were but it wasn't like she put that into consideration at the time. She wouldn't admit to doing it on purpose every time, but she had definitely done it on purpose this time. Now pulled closer she put her hands on his shoulder's.

"You know, someone probably has a appointment too and will end up in this room. Or they don't have any other appointments for today. Fifty-fifty chance."

Which could be interesting either way maybe. In reference to the sun comment though?

"You didn't? That's too bad," Ella told him with a smirk, not making a move to show him again.

Pregnancies were supposed to make a woman horny right? When did that start applying and when did it stop becoming 'Ella just wants to tease me out of entertainment'? Not that Brad minded either way. He would have to be completely bonkers to mind. Granted, they should probably move locations sooner or later. Eventually.

They couldn't just lock the door to this room?

"I've never been much of a gambler," he commented as his lips twitched in amusement. And actually, that was the truth because he knew how much trouble his family had gotten in because of gambling- had to change their last name and everything. "But I could make an exception if necessary." He wasn't sure whether or not he was joking; probably not, but she was. Probably. Maybe. With Ella, you never knew.

Brad grinned, his hands on her legs moving up to place themselves around her waist, "You enjoy teasing me way too often," he kissed her neck below her chin softly, and only once before pulling back and looking down at her again. "Here, at home, a closet, the bathroom, decide. No matter what, I'm taking that shirt off." He smirked playfully, his fingers continuing to play with the edge of said shirt.

Ella shrugged her shoulder's, not caring much about the odds. Mostly because the latter was more distracting.

"And you don't to me? It's only fair," she told him, her voice faintly quieter as he was, on purpose or not, teasing too.

Then he was going to ask a question like that? He probably didn't think they were going to make it far from that room anyways, or if he did then he was mistaken.

In a 'what do you think?' gesture she kissed him; glad there wasn't that much distance as it was. A bad place to? Maybe. Was Ella actually worrying about that at the moment though? Of course not.

There came a point when sometimes words just weren't needed. Right now, that would be one of those times. Sure, the word play was always expected and very very entertaining but as he always said, there were always better things to do with your mouth.

This woman was obviously perfect for him- no need for a spoken response- the kiss was enough of a response already. He kissed her back, his hands tightening around her waist as his lips moved against hers almost immediately. There was one thing he knew- this was going to have to be quick. No matter the rush in getting caught, to have to stop in the middle would be really painful; he didn't care much for embarrassing.

He took out his wand quickly, pointed it at the door and pulled his lips away from Ella briefly to mutter a spell to lock it, and muffliato it. There, with that done, he literally let his wand fall down wherever it wanted to, before he returned his lips to Ella's, kissing her once more as his hands started tugging up on her shirt.

Maybe choosing some place that wasn't this particular room would have been a wiser decision, but ah well. Hadn't they already mastered not getting caught? What with the dressing rooms and all...but there was more probably more of a chance here. All the more reason to thoroughly enjoy herself while she could.

Leaning away from the kiss was just for the purpose of getting her shirt off which she let drop where-ever. Ella was already self-conscious with the baby weight, which was only going to continue more so with knowing there was three babies, but their actions distracted her from that thought anyways. At least for now. Busying her lips at his neck she let her hands travel south, trying to get his jeans undone. Granted, taking your time was typically the better way but they didn't hardly have time for that.

Brad had never had a problem with exhibitionism and voyeurism for that matter, he was rather without shame or embarrassment when it came down to it. If anything, it only added to the thrill of the situation, the fact that any second someone could try and walk in through that door and then they'd be ratted out and...it would be rather difficult to show their faces here again around the staff. He knew he himself didn't mind, he'd keep on grinning but Ella would eventually reach the embarrassment stage, which she had quickly bypassed for now. Small blessing, all in its own.

Brad kissed Ella's chest rapidly as soon as her shirt was off, lips trailing and teeth nibbling softly over pale flesh as he moved up her neck, and went back to her lips. It wasn't long before Ella's own lips were at his neck, Brad sighing deeply at the feeling while his hands went back around her waist, pulling her closer to him and also moving his fingers quickly to unbutton of her jeans, mimicking Ella's own actions. Once the button was undone, and the zipper was pulled down, Brad tugged down on the jeans before doing the same to his own, not even bothering to step out of them- they were rather in a hurry after all.

Parker was that guy. If confronted by the fact, Parker would twist his head and ask with a laugh what you meant, and you would find that the veritable mine of adjectives in the English language would give you no gold. You would be left with describing his action as if it were a defining character trait, and though he wouldn't deny it your point wouldn't get across regardless. He was, however, that guy. He's the guy that at twenty-three years old doesn't leave his flat without kissing his mother's cheek and assuring her he'd eat something. He's the guy that still used the room he'd had when he was ten (though admittedly, as storage, while he lived out of his car) and had no plans on changing that anytime soon. He's the guy who was, that particular morning, driving to his girlfriend's ultrasound while she had a baby with a guy that wasn't him without even a hint of resentment. He not only supported her decision, but was impressed by it; thought it was incredible and amazing. His guy friends thought he was insane for this fact. They'd shake their heads and wag their finger at him, while his ex who married his friend tell them to lay off.

"Oh Parker," the friends laughed, "Don't be that guy."

"What guy?" He asked with a laugh.

But you know what guy. That one.

He pulled off the intersection into London, top down and a bright smile on his face. At that moment, there was nothing that was bringing him down. Well. Perhaps the fact that he thought he might be at least thirty seconds late if the guy in front of him didn't get out of his way...

Didn't the guy know what day it was? Anastasia was finding out if she and Jason were having a boy or a girl. It was a big, important day for her and thus Parker couldn't shake the feeling it was a big day for him too. Whether or not he had determined what this child meant to him yet, he knew it meant something.

And he knew it meant a lot to Annie.

He walked into the lobby, eyes seeking out either a bouncy and anxious Anastasia or a subdued but obviously as excited as her Jason.

Annie had been properly calmed after Parker had told her that Jason was missing when they went to his flat and found him there. Of course, it took a while for her to believe that he was okay and to get through the confusion of why he had the baby blanket, but it all blew over. Essentially he wasn't hurt, and it was over. He was home, and safe.

And now they had other things to focus on, like finding out the sex of their baby. Annie had gone to the bookstore with breakfast for Jason - as she was prone to do both as an excuse to see him, and because she really thought people needed to eat breakfast - and then once his shift was over they'd gone straight to Mungo's.

Currently she was sitting on one of the chairs in the waiting room next to him, feet pulled underneath her as she flipped through a baby names book. Periodically she'd point one out to Jason, but there really hadn't been anything that'd actually stuck yet. Most of them had been guy names; she wondered if that was a sign she should be looking at girl names.

Annie didn't really care whether she had a boy or a girl, but she definitely did want to know. They'd done a few things shopping-wise (like the blanket) but she wanted to do a lot more. Sure, they had plenty of time, but 'nesting' was part of the process and she was always into decorating. Maybe a little erratically, but she still enjoyed it.

It was by chance that she glanced up to see Parker walking into the room, and she smiled at him before going back to pointing out another name in the book.

Seeing the happy, cheerful wave, Parker's smile only increased as he went to stand beside them. Although he didn't know Jason all that well, he absolutely considered him a friend, and certainlynot "just for Annie's sake". There were a few people he knew Annie liked, that he most certainly didn't (one prominent name rose to the front of his mind but he pushed it away for the sake of enjoying this afternoon). And Annie, of course, well...

Well, he couldn't really just come up with one way to put into words how much she--as well as her happiness-meant to him. So he decided against trying, first offering his hand to shake with Jason in greeting and then leaning to kiss Annie's cheek and give her a quick, exuberent hug.

Seeing as they were looking at baby names, Parker looked over the list and pointed teasingly at one himself,

"How about that one?"

He was pointing at 'Adelpha'. " I mean...we were just in Greece."

And he was also, totally joking, as he sat down and rubbed at his widely-smiling-lips. "How're you two doing? Excited?"

This was it: the day they got to find out the gender of the baby. Both he and Annie had decided they wanted to know pretty early on. He figured neither of them were patient enough to wait. He actually had been itching to find out since they knew they were actually going to have a baby. And this was definitely something to look forward to after last weekend. It was such a strange experience with the fairy tales and the forest and...

...He really didn't want to think about that. So he wasn't going to. Instead he was just going to focus on how incredibly lucky they were because that was something he never tired of thinking about.

He and Annie were flipping through the book of baby names when Parker came in. Jason smiled and gave him a friendly wave, actually glad that Parker was there with them. He thought it was great that Annie had a man in her life who was not only ok with all of this but actually seemed pretty happy about it. And Annie seemed really happy with Parker. Jason didn't know him all that well, but he figured that would definitely come with time.

"Definitely excited," he replied, grinning at Parker's question. Although, when he peered down at the name Parker was pointing at, the grin lessened ever-so-slightly. "Adelpha?" He raised an eyebrow. "We don't want to do anything to encourage her teenage years when she hates us," he laughed.

"Maybe something a little..." He paused, searching for the right word. "...less?"

Annie reached up and hugged Parker back with one arm while she held her place in the book with her other when he leaned down to greet her, being a little less succinct as Jason about his choice of name. Making a face, she hurried to turn the page and nodded along with what Jason was saying.

"There are much prettier Greece names and besides, this baby's name is going to be strong, beautiful, meaningful name. Not that."
Ew. No offense to anyone that had that name of course, she Annie was... not a fan.

"Anyways, yes. Super excited. Hopefully the baby will be in a good position for us to see him or her."

Parker couldn't help but laugh. Jason was rather polite in turning down his purposefully-ridiculous-suggestion, where as Anastasia called him on it immediately and all but stuck her tongue out him. It was, he thought, amusing to note the difference. It was a clear picture in the difference in their acquaintanceship.

As Jason searched for the right word, Parker's eyes were scanning Anastasia's expression. He was drinking in every moment of her happiness; loving the way her lips were flicking in an immovable smile and how even when 'oh-parker'ing him, she could not help but keep it in place.

The polite 'less' made Parker chuckle a response, "Wasn't serious, mate. " Well, he hadn't been. In all honesty, Parker tried to take most things with a grain of salt and a dash of tickling. Life was going to deal you the hand it would; it was up to you what attitude you took for it. And him?

Parker tried to take everything with a smile.

"But yeah, we wouldn't want that, definitely. I know I was...a little bit of a nightmare in my teenage years. And yeah, hopefully." He agreed with Anastasia, eyes still a little more on her than on Jason, though he wasn't by any means ignoring Jason. "Any feelings on which sex the baby'll be? My mum always said she knew I was going to be a boy almost immediately..."

They were just waiting for the Healer, Parker knew, but he hated sitting in silence. He also was feeling a strange sort of anxiety with this appointment, growing more every minute despite his unshaken confidence that the baby would be healthy.

This was....this was big.

Jason nodded a response to Annie's comment. "I hope so too. I wouldn't want to have to wait till the next ultrasound." He was pretty sure it was safe to say that they had definitely gotten their hopes up about knowing today, so he was hoping their son or daughter was cooperating.

He was glad Parker wasn't serious about that name. Because...damn. Way to ensure their child got made fun of.

Parker asked if they had a feeling on what the gender was going to be. "I think...maybe.... a boy. Or a girl. Um...Yeah, I have no idea."

Marit Castle

When Marit came in to do her ultrasound appointment for the day, she was a little surprised to see three people waiting in the room. After all, it was a doctor's appointment, not a party. Oh well.

"Good afternoon," she greeted them, nodding to Annie, Jason and...the other guy she'd never seen before... and then she turned back to Annie. "So, how are you feeling?" she asked. This was the first time she'd seen the third guy at the visits, so she was now starting to wonder if she was wrong in assuming that Annie and Jason were together.

"If I could just ask you to hop up on the table so we can get started..." She opened Annie's folder to take some notes, waiting for Annie's reply.

"In your teenage years?" Anastasia idly turned a page, not bothering to look up at Parker as she implied that he was more or less still a 'nightmare'. In all fondness, of course, but he definitely had that kind of a job that caused stress and worry every time he had to go on a trip. And then there was the 'alpha' male thing, and his mixed up status in life...she glanced up to grin at him.

When Parker asked what they thought the baby's gender would be though, Annie did end up closing the book, tucking it back in her bag before she was patting her stomach. Jason answered and then changed his mind and then clearly went back to the 'we'll see' thing, and Annie paused, expression relaxing as she told him, "There's a fifty-percent chance she's a girl, and it would definitely be disappointing to have to wait for the next ultrasound."

Before the filler conversation continued, Annie's healer came out to greet them. "Afternoon." She responded cheerfully; for all of Marit's nearly cold professional ability, Annie was secure in the fact that she would be in good hands, and that was good enough for her. "Right now, I'm feeling pretty great. The morning sickness is gone, though I have been a lot more easily tired lately."

Of course, that may just have been because of her activities.

Annie stepped up and sat down on the table, dumping her bag out of the way next to her. "Oh. And this is Parker, Parker, this is Healer Marit Castle."

"Touche." Parker had grinned back at Anastasia as she glanced up in response to all but smirk back at him. "But then I suppose I pride myself on that."

An old cliche sprung to mind: rules are for breaking. Parker both agreed and disagreed; he disagreed on principle because save for cliche lines he could snap off as a joke he tended to want to be more original than that, and he agreed that certain rules did seem to exist only to be ignored. Being a nightmare to deal with, however, brought up a different thought and he swallowed for a half second--saved from really thinking about it by the appearance of a Healer.

Slipping his hands into his pocket, Parker nodded cheerfully towards her, remarking lightly, "Nice to meet you, Marit."

He was about to remark with a slight warn 'You're taking good care of our Anastasia, yes?"--before realizing a moment later she might not realize he was joking. The truth was, the moment Marit had entered the room, Parker had almost startled back into reality. There was a strange energy buzzing throughout him; a tremor of excitement twinged with wistfulness and his unsureness. He didn't know what to do. He had not a clue. His place in this room was certainly that of the 'third', the newcomer, and the child they were all there to worry, ooh, and aww over...well, he wasn't the father. He didn't mean that in a particularly bad way--Parker knew he was not nearly ready to be a father himself--he just had no idea what role he was supposed to play.

When Parker didn't know what to do, he joked. He laughed. And his ego seemed to peek up, he thought, maybe a little...

Stepping around to the side of the room when Marit asked Anastasia to get on to the table, he determinedly looked anywhere but at the door. He could do this; he could. He could support them--and it wasn't just that he 'could'.

He wanted to.

Ultrasounds were, in short, what Anastasia was living for at the moment. Of course, when she said things like that she usually had a new object that was the reason she breathed by the next day, or perhaps, the next week. She tended to be a little overzealous in her dramatics. At the same time though, feeling the little wiggle in her stomach when Marit gently kneaded to find the position of the baby, feeling the cool gel on her stomach that helped show up a picture of their gorgeous baby? It literally the only thing on Annie's mind, whatsoever.

In one hand she had Jason, the other, Parker, eyes shining as she took in the tiny little shape of the growing child in her stomach. Healthy, average sized, and a baby girl.

She was having a daughter, and the little girl was healthy.

That was all Annie needed to hear before she was letting go of both of her boys and scrambling for the tissues, eyes filling in both relief and excitement. Anastasia's tear ducts had always been hard-wired to her emotions, and with all the extra hormones it was just ten times worse. She was prone to a lot of tears. These, at least, were good ones, and she was trying to push them back so that she could have full view of the screen in front of her, but her valiant fight eventually was lost.

At least, until the machine was turned off and the gel siphoned off while they were given the usual instructions and questions. All in all, it was a really great checkup and Marit had gone to collect the printed images for them when Annie finally calmed down enough to put away her tissues and climb off the table. However, the sunny smile never left her face, whole being just seeming to float in her joy. She really wasn't all that certain that people really...understood, just how much this meant to her. How much she had been ignorantly brushing off as something she could live with out.

Hell no. She wanted the full experience of being a mom and this pregnancy was just... the beginning.

"She's so big and beautiful..." Annie murmured reverently, as she had probably ten times throughout the whole appointment. She was just in a bit of awe.

It didn't take her long to adjust her clothing once again and grab her things, and then they were just waiting for Marit to come back and sign off on the paperwork, giving them the images that Annie was making into a little scrapbook of "pregnancy". She already had a ton of pictures, progress and growth of each week. It was her 'baby diary' of sorts.

Just breathing in happily, Annie looked around and realized that Parker was wearing the pocket watch she had gotten him for Christmas. It made her already brilliant smile widen, and she reached into his pocket to pull it out, just on a whim. She'd gotten it ordered a little late (as she hadn't been sure what to get him) and so it had arrived literally the day of. She didn't have a lot of time to actually study it, make sure the spells worked on it and such. Protective spells, of course. She was a little bit of a worrier.

Instead of being warm though, despite being in his pocket, the metal was ice cold and stationary. Sometimes things with stronger protective magic she could actually tell the spell was there, just from the thrumming power of it all. This one didn't do anything but make her shiver, and the design on it wasn't quite right. There was something wrong with it, like it was the design she had picked out, but had fallen short just a wee bit. However, because she couldn't pinpoint the exact different between what she thought she picked out and what she was seeing in front of her, she didn't say anything right away.

"So does it work?" Anastasia asked, feeling her estatic joy lessen just the slightest, somehow. Weird. To Jason she explained, "Since Parker's kind of into the whole 'danger' thing, I had a few extra charms placed on this just... in case. It never hurts to have a little backup."

If he could pick out the one cursed ruby amongst a pile of them, they just made ultrasound imaging intentionally impossible, Parker swore. Sure, the conspiracy theory was a little far fetched, but merlin, come on. It was a bunch of squiggly black and white lines, and beeps. It was bringing back a long forgotten memory of his favorite childhood tv movie, recorded to a video tape he hadn't known had a cousin's ultrasound on it. He'd incorrectly informed his mother that a prequel to King Kong with the monkey as a baby was coming out soon.

He was seven, all right? And this machine was impossible. Just, impossible. His eyes were squinting, head tilting as Marit pointed things out on the screen. Anastasia seemed to have no problem understanding, her luminescent smile shaped from lips shaking the smallest tremor as happy tears shown in her eyes. Parker squeezed her hand back, turning to look at her incredulously, about to exclaim he had no idea how she could understand the monitor when Marit started drawing around the baby's outline.

And he saw it. He saw her.

"Hey, Annie, I think she has your eyes." Parker couldn't help the quip. He just couldn't. His gaze cast to Jason for a moment. Much as he liked the guy, he hardly knew him and wasn't sure at all what could be stepping on his toes.

That was what a child looked like in the womb? His King Kong idea wasn't so far off then, although it would have to be the giant apes sea-monkey cousin. A smile already on his lips, he started smiling wider as the whole shape formed in his mind. As his shock ebbed away, his brow was arching into his hairline. The truth was even talking this over with his elder brother, Parker's first glimpse of Anastasia--and Jason's--daughter was as terrified as ever. She looked so...tiny, so unreal.

Pregnancy really did eventually lead to a baby, didn't it? Huh. And this baby...she was coming. She was going to come soon. She was healthy, and strong. His unsureness, however, did not translate into his gaze or beam. It--she--was healthy and that was what mattered. As instructions were given, Parker turned to offer Marit his thanks, pausing and head tilting down as he spied Anastasia's hand going down his pocket. Well, then. Eyebrow wiggling, his lips turned up a smirk as she withdrew her hand--now clutching the pocket watch she'd given him.

He laughed at the explanation, elaborating, "You know the danger thing's hot."

It was a moment later that he realized the rest of her question, for his mind was running on overdrive and jokes falling from his lips with every breath from a racing heart. His eyes screwed up for a moment. "Protective spells?" He echoed, reaching his hand out to take the watch. "I..."

Huh.

As his hand closed around the metal he blinked and turned it around, examining the face. "Well they were." He said slowly, scratching a tiny mark away, thumb caressing the etched design. "Oh. I think it needs to be wound. That probably explains that."

His thumb jerked off the face towards the dial.

"Is not." Anastasia muttered in response to Parker's usual brush off the whole stupidity of it all. She honestly did worry about him and his missions... a lot. There had been a few stories he'd told her about his book that were tons of fun to write about, but when it came to the reality and knowing he was going into these things now after his (probably slightly exaggerated) stories of barely surviving the other 'missions'? Yeah. It worried her.

"Mhm, didn't I tell you that? It's on the jacket too." Apparently she had neglected to tell him that part, pliant as he took back his watch despite her still trying to figure out why it was so off. Why it didn't seem right to her.

It was only when he said it needed to be wound that things clicked in Annie's head and, despite thinking that the whole 'seeing' thing was a little bit of a stretch, she apparently subconsciously believed it enough. As soon as he moved to wind it her hand was shooting out, the smile completely falling from her face as she closed her fingers around the metal once again.

That's what was so wrong. It felt like when she had been holding those cards.

"Don't."
She just said, paling slightly as she realized why she had been so turned off about the watch. It wasn't right; the design was broken, unfluid, the metal was cold, and she was feeling not warmth and comfort from it, but chill and the drawing of energy.
