"I know."

It was a simple statement. He knew Sam and he knew her well enough to know that anyone who had caused any of her problems was going to be next. That was actually a rather long list.

"I'll talk to Ella later. She should be fine since she's at Escape with Jordan and..she'll be fine."

He nearly said Beth but he assumed Ella and her wanted to share that story themselves so he left it be. Glancing at Kitty he frowned. He didn't want her to not be around all the time. He liked the fact her and Angel had grown so close, and she had grown close to Harm too.

"I don't think I can either," Dante admitted. "I promised Sam before I even thought about it, but Kat's our family. You might not be her mother, but you are because she's the only person she's known as one in a long time."

Dante quieted a moment before he added,

"I'll talk to her. We can figure out something, but I don't Kitty to go."

Harm got up slowly, dropping kisses on both of the girls' heads as she passed them to go to Dante. Once she got there, she pressed her face against his chest, and wrapped her arms around his sides, and let herself cry. She hadn't wanted to let the girls see that, but from her position, they couldn't, so it was okay. She needed to.

"If she's warned than she should be fine." Harm agreed silently after a while. She hesitated for a moment, and then sighed and confessed, "I was...she walked in, and I recognized her. I thought she was that other girl at first. The one you told me about that looked like her. But then she kind of...proved, I guess, that she was the real one and all I could think about was that...maybe she was right. Maybe you would want to go back with her because, well... I was there, when you were still grieving her and I know...how much you love her."

She shook her head slightly, realizing she'd gotten his shirt all wet, "And then all I could think about was that I wasn't going to just give you up like that. You or Kat. You're my family. And yet, I couldn't...she told me that she wasn't my caretaker. I respect that...but I couldn't control my magic to get me out of those binds and she was out there playing cat and mouse and..."

Well, she'd been nervous. Not nervous, scared. Just the simple fact that Dante was going to go back and talk to her freaked her out a little bit. But there wasn't anything she could do about it. That frustrated her, because she could put her opinions in all she wanted and it was still between the parents of the little girl she considered one of hers.

Dante wrapped his arms around Harm, a little surprised that she was crying, but he hated that she was. At any point he hated seeing her cry.

"She had no right to do any of this just because she wants her life back,"
he told her. As Harm went on though he held her a little tighter. "No. I'm not going anywhere. I grieved Sam because I thought she was dead, and in the process I ended up just letting her go. I care about her but not in any way like I used to. I wouldn't leave you--I couldn't leave you. I love you."

The only reason to talk to Sam now was to get answers so he had some closure that whole mess. They'd have to figure out what to do about Kat, but he wanted her to stay right there with them. Harm was a mom to Kat and she hadn't seemed to notice otherwise.

"She's not going to bother us anymore, I promise. She's not going to come anywhere near this house. I'll talk to her to sort of whatever needs to be and that's it. I can't say I won't talk to her sometimes because I know I will, but you can trust me. I hope you can trust me."

Harm leaned up and kissed Dante, just once, gently, and then nodded. She understood. They hadn't really discussed it all that much, but when he started dating her, she assumed that was the case. Still, it was good to hear. It was really, really good to hear.

"I love you too."
She told him, reaching up to brush her cheeks, mumbling, "Sorry. I'm tired."

And needed to get more blood but there was no way she was going to leave her babies right then. No chance, no how. It wasn't just about to happen. If the girls wanted to have a movie pajama party, despite the hour, she was game for that. If they wanted to play a board game or cards or anything, then she wanted to do that. She wanted to just be with them, all of them.

"She won't leave this house except for in a body bag if she comes back here again." Harm promised quietly. She was absolutely serious. No one kidnapped her, made her feel like such a disgusting monster, and threatened to break up her family. No one.

"I do trust you. I trust you so much, Dante. It's her that I don't trust."

Dante kissed Harm back then also kissed her forehead as she apologized.

"You have nothing to apologize for," he assured her.

He was just glad right then that was in his arms and she was safe. He wouldn't have put it past Sam to have done worse, but thankfully she hadn't. The kids were there and they were there. That was exactly how it was going to stay.

"I wouldn't stop you. Not after I warned her already."

She didn't even deserve one warning let alone two. For her own sake she'd have better decided to stay away. The fact though that he knew as well as Harm did that Sam might go after Ella put him on edge. She'd be fine at Escape, but what if they went out and she got left alone? Dante knew well enough that Ella could take care of herself, but Sam was clever.

Pushing aside the worries from his mind he nodded at the latter. It was amazing to hear since he had assumed before he had to gain her trust again after what happened with Silver. He wasn't going to ever screw up like that again, and he had made promises that he would keep.

Looking over at the kids he saw Ang pointing out the marshmallows in her cup and counting them while Kitty copied her; the numbers just a lot more jumbled. If Kitty was happy then that was what should count. Not who should rightfully be taking care of her. For right now though he didn't want to worry over it. He kissed Harm lightly once more before he went over to where the girls were and ruffled their hair with a smile on his face.

"Did you guys have fun hanging out at Escape?"

Angel popped one of the marshmallows in her mouth first as she nodded, and then gave a spoken answer afterward.

"We played hide and seek and I hid Kitty in a cabinet in the kitchen 'cause she could fit and we couldn't."

Harm just left it be when Dante said that she didn't have anything to apologize for. She did, a little bit. Maybe if only for reacting the way she did. Maybe for even assuming that he would do something like leave her for Sam. Maybe just for the tears. Either way, she felt a little bad about it all.

It made her glad that he was separate enough from it that the idea of her killing Sam actually didn't bother him as much as she'd been afraid of. He wasn't encouraging her on it, but he wasn't telling her no, either. He was basically saying it would be Sam's own damn fault.

True story.

Once they had settled and were alright, Harm lifted her face t the last kiss, and then it was her turn to lean against the doorway, watching him with the girls before coming back and sitting down with them once again, content, for the moment, to just listen and enjoy the stories.

"And did anyone find her?"

"Nope. Kitty won. Then we colored pictures," Angel answered.

At the mention of it Kat left her hot chocolate alone and took out a folded up paper from her pocket which was a drawing she did that was supposed to be the house. Then holding it up,

"See!"

"Sounds like you guys had fun," Dante told them as he then looked at Kitty's picture. "That is a great drawing, Kat."

Turning to Harm, and this time figuring the late hour didn't matter, he decided the current idea didn't sound so bad. They had really just all gotten home and he doubted by the way Harm was acting that she wanted to leave the kids for now.

"How about we watch a movie?"

With that option being the popular vote, he went to find blankets for the girls so they could lay on the floor and then went to the living room with Harm where they let Kat and Ang pick out the movie for the night.

Jordan's owl, considering his was at home naturally, was used to send Harm the note which got left on the coffee table to be found.

If this note doesn't make much sense I apologize, but I'm rushing writing it. Kat's with Sam right now because she did something and when I went to see Rose she was okay, but Sam must have done something to her medicine. Gryphin took her to St. Mungos and I'm at Escape right now dropping off Charlotte and Lucas. I'll go to Mungos myself after this, but I wanted to let you know. Right now I don't know anything else.

Holidays were just usually...bypassed. Or just not cared about in the same way it should have been. Amongst all the little differences this Christmas was too. He had a family. Well he had family before, but this was a whole other meaning of the word. Apparently his excitement and his own inner child didn't need waking up even by Angel declaring everyone should, because he was up a few minutes before that and waking up Harm with a kiss on her shoulder before he got up. In the hall he caught Ang before she could take off down the stairs, and picked her up to spin her around.

Once he had put her down he did the same with Kat as she reached up and wordlessly asked. With Kitty still in his arms and her still giggling over the spin, he went downstairs and put her on the couch where she laid for the one moment before she rolled off the couch to stay near Ang.

Harm had been expecting to be gotten up early. Santa had come of course, and presents were laid out from them as well. Not that it made any difference to the girls if it said 'from mom and dad' or 'from santa'; they were ripped into just the same.

Still, Harm took a bit longer to wake up than Dante did, registering that he was rolling out of bed, then realizing how he had woken her, a smile on her face as she slowly got up, bringing the still-sleepy boys down with her. Even if they were falling back asleep in their little playpens, at the very least they were all there as a family.

She set them down, and walked over to drop kisses on her daughters before wrapping her arms around her husband and kissing him too. "Merry Christmas." She greeted, a bright smile on her face to see the girls so excited.

As Harm came downstairs, Dante smiled and put his arm around her shoulder's as he kissed her back.

"Merry Christmas, Harm."

The fact they were all there together was enough to make him happy. He kissed Harm on top of her head before he got up to find the present he had purposely put near the back of the tree. Maybe he was just impatient but it was mostly the fact he was excited to see Harm's reaction. Apparently even keeping that a secret for a few weeks now was tough.

Sitting down again he held the box that was wrapped with a purple bow stuck in the center.

"I wanted it to be something special," Dante told her.

The note with it explained after-all and said whatever he would have right then to begin with.

Harm smiled as Dante walked away and went over to give each one of the girls a present from 'Santa' to keep them occupied at the moment, curiously looking at the box he was bringing back. She sat down, and then smiled when he handed it to her, asking, "For me?"

Christmases were always fun, and she was just as excited as the girls opening her own, pulling out the purple dress first, and then standing so she could hold it up against her - pajamas and bed hair and all - and twirl around, "This is gorgeousss..."

However, something had caught her attention, and she picked up the postcard, unfolding it only to be...

Stunned.

Inside there were two tickets, and a letter, and she read it once. Twice, and a third time before she looked up at Dante, wide-eyed. "We're going to Paris?!" Immediately a grin broke out over her face and she threw her arms back around him, very nearly squealing. "It is, omimerlin Dante this is...this is just...incredible!"

To says she was excited was an understatement.

"And I know it'll look wonderful on you," he added.

Harm's reaction once she saw the postcard and what it contained though was no doubt the best part. He watched her reading it over before she finally looked at him and he simply nodded. The next moment he was still all smiles when she had hugged him again.

"I'm glad you like it. I wanted to do something...big, basically. You deserve it,"
he told her, then adding as he laughed just a little. "Now see I haven't ever been on a...a airplane they called it? The guy looked at me funny when I asked a load of questions needless to say. It was adventure in that place." Grinning he went on. "But it'll be our adventure when we go."

They. were going. to France.

Ham just couldn't grasp that exactly yet, other than the fact she was overwhelmed with excitement. She and Dante didn't have much them time, and the fact that he provided that in such a big way made her smile, so so much.

"We deserve it." She corrected, all but beaming. Her smile just widened as Dante talked about airplanes, and she nodded, "Yup airplanes. We will have...so much fun with that."

And security and metal detectors and checking bags and...wow. They were going to Paris.

"I love you. So so so soooo much. Our first couple together married so it already was going to be something to remember but this..merlin. I was not expecting this. And I am so excited!" She laughed. Although it'd be hard to be away from their babies, each and every one of them, Harm trusted the Morvanna sisters more than she probably could explain so she knew they'd be fine.

Paris.

"See, they were right about learning something new everyday."

Besides the overwhelming feeling about the airplane he was excited. It was time spent with Harm and time in general that they didn't usually get lately. There wasn't a complaint though about it as it was the kids that were part of the time.

"I love you too. And I'm glad we're here, together, and with the kids. This is really the best Christmas. It's perfect."

Smiling he kissed Harm.

"Right!" Harm, literally, could not stop beaming, resisting the urge (slightly) to be bouncing around and still be squealy. She couldn't wait to wear the dress, she couldn't wait to be in Paris with him, she couldn't wait to teach him all about the airport and airplanes and it just figured that his ipod would be perfect for relaxing him if he got freaked out...

Actually she hadn't been on a plane in ages, so it'd be a new experience for both of them.

And just, the entire idea...she wanted to go hug each and every one of his sisters for agreeing to take care of the kids while they were gone, and she wanted to pack already...

But she was getting ahead of herself. "It is perfect." She agreed, responding to his kiss contently.

Sitting forward just a little and taking back his arm from around Harm's shoulder, he caught Kitty unaware, her squealing and laughing after, as he picked her up to sit on his lap.

"What do you think? A perfect Christmas?"

Before answering though Kat squirmed her way out of Dante's grip to move over to Harm as she reached out her arms to show as such before she simply left her hands on her lap. Glancing at Harm though her face broke into a smile and the single word of 'mum' came out. Apparently she wasn't looking to answer Dante's question at the moment, and as Kitty had occupied herself with Harm, he asked Ang the same thing.

Harm loved watching Dante with the kids. Just being around them made them laugh and he never seemed to work to do it. She loved it. And to think, once upon a time he was terrified to hold Angel because he didn't want to hurt her...

When Kitty moved over to her, Harm picked her up and gave her a hug. However, a moment later she had froze once again, glancing up at Dante to see if...things were okay. He just payed attention to Ang though, so on Harm's face spread a smile once again, hugging and kissing Kat before she responded, "I love you, baby."

Just...so much emotion, she was going to explode. She was on the verge of tears, her smile tremendous as she asked Kitty, "You and Angel and the boys are going to go over and play with Em and Ed and Alex and Lucas and the new babies. Are you excited?"

Dante was trying to help Ang get one of her toys open that was stuck and she was starting to get frustrated with. He was still listening to Harm and Kitty talk though, but he didn't see why he needed to tell Kitty not to. She had known Harm for a while now and Harm was really the only mom she did know since Ella had taken care of her for only a short time. To just hear Kat talking was enough of a reason not to intervene.

"I luv you." It was Kat's simple response but it was a few more words than usual. She was all smiles though considering how she had seen before the change in the look on either Harm or Dante's faces when she did say something more than the normal. Paying close attention to Harm she nodded. "Yeah. We play hide-seek."

Just the fact that Kitty was talking pretty much made Harm's day even extra better. Yes, Kitty talked now and again, but it was usually just a word, and if she didn't have to talk to answer something, she didn't. She'd gotten talented at getting what she wanted across without saying anything while she was silencioed. And hearing those words come out of her mouth were just...

Christmas miracles.

And how happy Kat looked was just making Harm feel happy too. She basically lived when her family was happy, every single one of them. For a while, Harm had to tread lightly with Kat, not exactly knowing what to do or act, but she'd been with them so long it'd all changed. And now, hearing her call Harm mum and saying she loved her too was just absolutely incredible.

"I'm sure that'll be a lot of fun, because you're really good at it, huh?"

Best. Christmas. Ever.
