Harm walked into her room, gently rocking Angel back and forth, lulling her back to sleep. She had woken up slightly on the way up the stairs, and as soon as she had fallen back asleep, Harm laid her down in the crip. Really, it was much more useful to have her in Harm's room anyways. Much faster to calm her if she was right there. Harm then sat on her bed, and watched the baby sleep. Truthfully, it was miraculous that she could even manage to put her down, but it's a lot more comfortable sleeping in a bed than against her mom's shoulder, so she finally did. Finally she ran downstairs quickly to grab her packet and pile of papers, and sat crosslegged on her bed, them spread out all around her. Ugh, paperwork. |

It was reasonable to say he hadn't been around as much as he should have been lately which he felt guitly for but he wasn't exactly entirely sure how to fix that problem. Besides the obvious way anyways. "Harrrmonnyyy." Start off cheerful and that would be a good start. Right. Probably not. He opened the bedroom door and at first just stayed at the doorway. "Panther, you can't just lay in bed all day. You're more interesting than that. We could sit outside? Ang is out there on her broom again." |

Twenty seven weeks. Bloody 27 weeks, and she was huge. It was exhausting just to walk down the bloody stairs, it was painful to keep up with Angel all day long, it was uncomfortable to lay down. Yet, laying down was what she did. She hadn't even bothered getting out of bed that day, just feeling generally sick and awful. Angel hadn't ever made her feel this awful, but there was a good extra 20 pounds this time, and she was just tired of it all. And she still had anywhere from three weeks to thirteen and she really...just wanted it to be over. This was the most exhausting, hard, painful pregnancy ever, and considering her emotional state that had nothing to do with her pregnancy (or...emphasized through the hormones) it was even worse. When Dante came into the room, she ignored him for a moment, biting back a sarcastic greeting. Still, her words were sharper than necessary. "I can just lay in bed all day, and I'm tired of trying to be interesting." She didn't want to get up and walk down the stairs. The bed was quite comfortable enough, thank you very much. "Why do you care anyways?" Grouch. |

"Alright, I probably deserved that. Shame on the hermit for hermitting." Dante half wondered if he was to sit on the bed with her if she'd be tempted to push him off the bed, but he'd take his chances. "We can just sit here and talk then if you want." Try and negotiate, that usually worked. He got she had every reason to be in a bad mood so he wasn't annoyed by it. Besides, if he got annoyed then it would no doubt make it all ten times worse. "Or if the panther thinks the hermit deserves her wrath then the hermit will take it," Dante joked. |

"You know, that used to be an affectionate term." Harm opened her eyes and looked at him as he sat down, knowing she was being a complete bitch, but she was unable to curb the attitude. After everything, and he was acting like nothing was wrong? She had allowed that after the boat mess. She had, because she was trying to protect him, and make him feel better. She had been alright with it...and they'd gotten married. And then it felt like everything went south. Or maybe she was being over-dramatic. "Deserves my wrath? Really Dante? I can't believe you! Just how much of this do you think I can take? I brushed it off when you said you were cheating on me, I ignored the incredibly pathetic excuse as to why. I moved past the fact that you were part of the reason people died. I didn't ask questions when you brought Kitty home, I treat her like she's my daughter too. I married you, and then when we were in a maze, burning to the ground, you left me there, and I just brushed that off as well because I knew Ella had been taken and I knew you were worried about her. I was too. But then you didn't go home? I hear from your sisters, about Ella being out of town and you going to her. And then you, just disappear. Anna's here, and you come down for like, two seconds, and then leave again. I am pregnant with your kids, and you're not even here. I don't know where you are or what you're doing half the time. I don't know what's been going on. And you have no idea what's been happening either. We, don't have a nursery for boys, and they could be here early as less than a month. Did you know that? I honestly didn't expect to be doing this all alone, Dante." |

All joking aside that attitude was gone. He knew he hadn't been around and he had messed up in more ways than he even wanted to admit, but to hear it from Harm made it sound ten times worse. To say some of it didn't hurt would be a blatant lie. Some things he wanted to argue back on but he didn't. The silence got him in trouble in the first place but still. He didn't think it was a dumb reason, it was a legitimate reason to him but he wasn't justifying what he had done. Not at all. He brought up his hands to his face though his hands were balled into fists; some form of restraint or something from things he wasn't going to argue back on. "I told you who Katherine is. I told you what Ryder told me and I figured out the rest. I don't know anymore on that than what I said about not even knowing and how Ryder kidnapped her after he...I explained it." He figured keeping Sam's name out of it would be the better option really. "I should have gone home after the maze. Hell I should have been there with you and I wasn't. I'm sorry. I screwed up once again. I know that. I can't apologize because it doesn't fix it. I suck at this, Harm, I freaking suck at this. I left when Anna was here because I can't manage a conversation apparently. Apparently that's something else I have to work on. I don't want my stupidity or whatevers wrong with me to screw everything up because I love you. I've been absolutely lousy lately and I know that. I hate me for it. You don't have to do this on your own because I'm right here. I'm just...I'm here." Dante knew he was awful at speaking his mind or talking in general. Maybe that was why all the joking around was so easy, but he didn't want it to be like that. He wanted to figure it out whatever it was. |

Harm looked at his hands, at his fists, and forcefully blinked back the tears threatening to escape her eyes, sitting up because she wasn't comfortable looking up at him that far. She sat up, and she wrapped her arms around her stomach, as it was comfortable to do now that she was a freaken whale, and just listened. "You explained her." Harm acknowledged, quiet, staring at some point past his shoulder. She wasn't really looking. Not really. It was just a place to direct her eyes. She was...out of all the things she had mentioned before Kitty, and the one that Harm really didn't have a problem with was brought up. Lovely. The next thing he told her was just him agreeing with her, she supposed, on a very thin, base level, and it really didn't serve to make her feel any better. He said he loved her; she did too. If she didn't, she wouldn't have married him. Not after what he told her just a bloody week before. Why she was still there, putting up with it. She didn't feel like there was more for her to say in response to that, except for when he uttered his last sentence, the control broke, and she looked at him, the hot, hormonal tears sliding down her face as she simply asked, "Are you?" |

Dante was sure he was but at the same time he knew making mistake after mistake like he was wasn't going to cut it. He didn't want to screw it all up and lose the one person who managed to put up with him. That was what it was wasn't it? Put up with. He didn't get why he was incapable of conversation or why he felt the need to run rather than face things. He didn't get it but he wanted to. He wanted to figure it out so it wouldn't be an issue. But he loved Harm. There wasn't any questions about it. The idea of losing her was a scary thought and he couldn't imagine it. What then? Go back to his flat? Go home? What home though? The fact Harm was crying made him feel even worse. Look at what you did, he thought. Look at what he caused. "I'm trying to be." And he had. He hadn't left the house the last couple of days. He had been attempting to figure out all the issues that were his own issues. He at least moved his hands away from his face. "You said you don't know where I am half the time," he acknowledged. "If I'm not here I'm at Escape. It's some house of my dads that my sister's are staying at." That much he wanted explained. He wasn't just leaving to sit in some bar somewhere or something. "I don't want you to cry, Harm, and I hate that I've hurt you." |

Harm didn't know what she wanted to happen when she brought up how she was feeling. Really, it was just all overexaggerated because of the twins. She always was cranky when she was tired and hurting, and he had just come in to try and get her out. And all she had done was snap at him, and all he was doing was trying to make it up to her, and she didn't even know where this conversation was going. Somehow, she felt guilty, instead of justified. Somehow. When he said he was trying to be, she sighed. She wouldn't know, would she? She was in bed most of the time now, not out running around with Angel. She felt like a terrible mother, but she just couldn't do that. So she just trusted his words to be true, and after pausing, she nodded. And when he told her that he was with his sisters when she didn't know where he was? She wasn't sure whether to feel relieved or something else. And then she was being absolutely stupid. "I'm fine-" Harm had started to deny that he had hurt her. But...he knew. And denying it? Well it was kind of pointless. With some kind of a strangled sob, she brushed off some of the tears - not that it helped much - and just said, "I wish things were back the way they used to be." |

At the mention of used to be it was the instant thought of the ice cream place, the costume shop, his flat....all those things were everything seemed absolutely perfect. It didn't have to be messed up. He'd figure out something. "Maybe we should find that purple people eating thing so it can get purple gook on the carpet and you can stand there yelling at it while I hit it with a broom to no avail," Dante joked, not sure if joking was allowed currently or not but he was attempting to cheer her up in any way possible. "You know, I think you were braver against that thing than me. I was the one standing on the couch after all." Pft if that thing could eat brooms it sure could eat a person. It was in its name after all. "Or the costume shop in general. If you can't go to the costumes we'll bring them to you." Then as a after thought, "I can set up the nursery today." He should have done that before but there was no sense in reprimanding himself for it now. |

If Dante had been trying to make her laugh, he succeeded. It was short, and quiet, but it was a laugh nonetheless, and she rubbed her face for a moment. "I think I would probably running for the bathroom if I saw that purple gook." Angel egging it on and the 'rawr' face and whatnot...dear merlin. No, that was not something she would want to revisit. Nor was it what she had been thinking about, but...she hadn't really thought before she'd wished anyways. It just seemed simpler, and easier, and so she had thought things were better. Of course, when he mentioned the costumes, she retorted with, "I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have anything I'd fit into." But, the idea of having the nursery set up today...made her smile, just a little bit. "Yeah?" |

"Well that's why we have magic, Harm, duh," Dante said, exaggerating it on purpose as he smiled. "You can wear any costume you wanted." If he thought he could and it would cheer up Harm he'd probably find a way to get all kinds of the costumes into the room from the shop. That would be interesting at best. As far as the nursery? "Yup. I'll get it all done today. Don't worry about it." Though the fact they hadn't talked about any of that prompted another thought to which the whole working on saying things and not just thinking and forgetting, was brought into play. "We haven't really talked about names. What do you think?" At least he never said he was good at it anyways. |

"And it'd look like a tent draped over me." Harm pointed out, putting her hand back on her stomach when one of them kicked her. It was getting to be an unconscious response to it, and she'd stopped flinching at the feeling a while ago. But Dante saying he'd take care of the nursery, and then asked her directly about the babies, asked about the names, a real smile broke out over her face, and before she could help herself, she was asking, "You want to pick out their names?" Well, they...hadn't talked about the babies at all since they found out she was, and then when they started kicking, so she was understandably surprised. But it was a great surprise, and she leaned forward and kissed him, once, really fast. "I am not sure, exaclty, on what names, but I wanted something unique. Because, you know, our names. Harmony, Dante, Angel, Kitty...theirs should fit too." |

"That's what you think." Dante nodded when she was confirming about names. He wanted to and he realized they hadn't talked much about the babies so all the better. He was making a effort at least, bad or not. The fact he got Harm to smile was what made him feel better. "Unique. Alright. I can't say I can think of any names off the top of my head, but we'll figure it out. And I want to make a promise that when I need to talk to something I'll come to talk to you about it instead of just going off somewhere okay?" And already he was doing better. Well on the subject of actually talking and not going silent if he happened to not know what to say. Thank merlin for that. |

Harm just shook her head at him, slightly amused, and then moved on to the baby names. With a wave of her hand she had the book there on her lap, and she flipped through it, naming off one name from every alphabet letter she passed. "Anakin, Benjamin, Cameron, Devon, Ethan, Fredrick, Geoffrey, Hugh, Isaac, Jaime, Keegan, Lucas, Merrick, Nathaniel, Owen, Patrick, Qwin, Rafael, Sebastian, Theodore, Ulysses, Vaughan, Walker, Xavier, Yates, Zacchaeus." She laughed. "Any sound good? We get to pick twooo." However, when Dante brought up that...he promised to talk to her instead of disappearing, Harm sobered for a moment, looking at him, looking for the honesty, and then nodded. |

Well at least Harm was prepared but then again she probably thought about it when he hadn't even bothered to bring it up. "Devon and Ethan are good." At least he picked two anyways. The whole shutting up when he had no idea how to respond had to stop. It wasn't an issue in this case but in general. He was doing fairly well so far. As Harm nodded he just reiterated. "Then I promise to talk to you when something's up." |

"I was liking Devon too. But instead of Ethan...what do you think of Cameron? Dev and Cam. I mean, they aren't as unique as...Ulysses but...I don't want to scar the poor kid." Harm smiled. There were a lot of names out there, she was just bored one day and chose one name per letter. And, some of them ended up being really strange. Xavier, for example. Hugh. Those were old time names. Though she had to admit, she did like the name Rafael. Not that she would ever name a kid that, but it was a cool name nonetheless. When he rearticulated his promise, she looked at him for a moment, and then just said gently, "Thank you." |

"Sounds good." Which it wasn't agreeing for agreeing but he did like those names. The fact they were managing to talk? Another plus. The promise he would definately keep. He wasn't going to give another reason that she should be upset and he hadn't meant to in the first place. "Love you, Panther." |

"Love you too, Hermit." Harm looked down at her stomach for a moment, imagining the two little boys, and said, "The sweet one is Cam. The one that keeps kicking my ribs is Dev. Already a little troublemaker." That said, Harm squinted and looked at the window at the sun, and sighed. "You go down to Ang, I'll take a shower and then join you two, alright?" Getting out of bed wasn't too much fun but she did it anyways, setting the book down on the nightstand as she headed to the bathroom. |

An owl flew in the open window, leaving a single, long-stemmed red rose on Harmony's pillow. With it was a tiny scroll of parchment, tied together with a thin red ribbon that perfectly matched the color of the rose. Unfurled, it read it neat script: Harmony, Please accept this rose as a token of my admiration. It was unsigned, and the owl flew off before it could be seen. |
