Ah. Of course, Beatrice not only was putting a price tag on the lives at stake, but putting their emotional attachments on the line as well. He paused for a moment, torn and looking at his left hand before grudgingly pointing at the silver filigreed wedding band on his ring finger (where else?) and blinking. "Think that will count?" Of course. The wedding band was probably the most monetarily worthy on his person at the moment, but it wasn't what he was thinking about. No, he was thinking about when he'd gone to the store and picked it out. Abi had accompanied him, stuffing little brochures in his pocket and papers and continously badgering him until he'd agreed to go do it. Lynx had just circled the ones she liked in the catalog, and he'd been fine with it. Abi, in all fairness, had made the wedding go off rather fairly smoothly... And all of those memories were attached to this ring at a moments notice. There were hundreds of others if he thought about it. So he stopped thinking. "And I think...they're around here, aren't they?" He swallowed, casting his glance around the square. The whole place seemed to be alive with activity...a fact that was really not that helpful. |

Emma had been going from painter to painter attempting to use the broken French Kevin had been teaching her the last few months, to ask about the moonstone. Everyone she'd asked however, hadn't known what she was talking about. Then out of the corner of her eye, she saw Leslie break away from the painter she'd been talking to and head over to Tyler. They seemed to be discussing something intently and Emma could only hazard a guess that it was perhaps about the moonstone, that Leslie may have found the right paint. Heading over, Emma joined the pair. "What's happening? Did you find them? Did they name a price?" |

Leslie looked at Emma then between her's and Tyler's rings and took hers off. "We have to give my painter five tokens of love, one from each of us, and I've only got my ring and your grandmother's bracelet Gabe gave me. And aside from a wedding ring, what else shows more love?" She asked Emma rhetorically. "And Tyler and Llian want my painter questionned after, so we need 2 more tokens after the three of ours." |

Emma listened carefully to what Leslie had to say. She'd been curious the moment the first letter about searching for the painter had come up as to what sort of price they'd be looking at. She paled when Leslie stated what was being asked for and glance down at her own fingers. Her left hand held her engagement ring as well as her wedding band. She really didn't want to part with either... "Any ideas if we'll be getting these back afterward?" Emma knew they were the ultimate token of love, given to her by Kevin and they meant to world to her. She never took them off. She could remember how thrilled she'd been when Kevin had proposed and had slipped the engagement ring on her finger, albeit next to Matthew's... Then slipping the wedding ring on the same finger when they were pronounced man and wife. Emma could clearly remember once the bind had broke, pulling off Matthew's ring and throwing it in the trash, leaving her quite happily with the two rings binding her to her husband. "I could give either. Both mean the absolute world to me." She nodded at the suggestion the painter be questioned and just hoped that he hadn't been charmed to keep quiet, or something as cunningly planned out as that. |

"Here." Dante even raised his hand to show such and then shoved his hands in his pockets. He hadn't strayed far considering he wasn't all that comfortable in some place he couldn't even speak to people properly in. The mention of giving something up he wasn't sure he had anything. Well he did have his and Sam's engagement ring from ages ago, call it silly to have it, but he wore it on a chain. That counted right? Dante really didn't like the idea of parting with it as it was the last thing he had of hers, but if he had to he would. "I have this." He pulled the chain up so the ring wasn't hidden under his shirt like it usually was. |

Kylie was relieved to see the other's having recongregated somewhat. In all honesty, she had no idea what she was doing, and she didn't like the notion of "giving false hope" in any way. It was really starting to eat at her, the fact that she had no skills worthy of helping- or so she herself thought. And she had to admit; she usually was her own biggest fan. Walking over and asking with a pained smile, she overheard and froze. A token of love? She...didn't have anything. They were all bringing out wedding rings and engagement rings and...who knew what else. Kylie was wishing she had her engagement ring on her somewhere; pretend she could pass off still being married and in love with Dayton or something. Instead she was forced to admit that she had no business being there once again... ...before her eyes alit on what necklace she'd been wearing. With a wince, she tugged at it and looked up asking, "Does a gift from my sister count?" Tayn had given her that necklace upon her graduation, as sort of a peace offering. She'd taken to wearing it recently, and wasn't exactly thrilled with the idea of giving it up. She figured, therefore, that it passed the test of 'love'. |

Leslie held out her hand, her own ring in her hand. She took a moment to look from everyone before her eyes were carried to Kylie. "If it is a token of love, it doesn't matter who it is from." She told her gently then looked at everyone. "Are you all sure these are tokens of love?" She asked then waved over her painter. "And you want to investigate him?" She asked Tyler once again for confirmation. |

The man's eyebrows perked up as he overheard them speaking rapid english. It was clear that he still did not fully speak the language, for he patiently waited, flicking nervous glances between them and then realizing then he was being asked something again. Whatever it was they were discussing, however, he could easily see they were removing and discussing what were clearly engagement rings, wedding bands, and necklaces of some sort that-- the look on the girls face were clearly enough to indicate the truth of fulfilling the requirement dictated in the silver calligraphy across the top of the parchment. It'd do. With a nod to the wave, he smiled a toothy grin before tugging the drawstring across the powdered moonstone and extending a similarly drawn bag for the items. "Please?" He said, still with the heavy accent. |

With some misgivings, Kylie tugged the gold chain and winced as it snapped clear free of her neck before dropping the formerly sentimental necklace into the extended purple, velvet drawstring bag. "It's from my sister." She tried to clarify to the man, not very happy with the toothy grin he was giving them. The painter seemed kindly, but it was only too easy for her to imagine this being a rather large operation set up to swindle them. Pulling her hands back behind her, she muttered easily, "Was." Beatrice was bloody going to pay, and that was that. |

Leslie dropped her engagement ring in the bag, her eyes welling with tears as she did so. Sure it was a piece of gold, but no amount of money could replace the meaning. She looked over at Emma who had her wedding band off. "From my fiance and her husband." She said as both rings clinked against one another and the necklace that was in the bottom. "Yes" Tyler answered quietly to Leslie. With one hand already on his wand, he kept that in his pocket, feeling annoyingly rather guilty as he did so. It wasn't this man's fault that he was getting pulled into it. Still, the fact of the matter was that their loved ones were running out of time even as they stood there and he could not stand that fact alone. So he kept his hand hidden as with the other, he too dropped the ring into the bag, explaining out loud, "My wedding band." He said it in French, although it had a heavy English accent attached. He'd...honestly, never learned how to get rid of that, even after living there for three years. He could not think about what he was giving up. He did not think about it. Dante wasn't exactly set on the idea of giving the ring up, but if it helped and they got whatever they needed? Then he'd give it up. That obviously was the only option even if he didn't like it, so he took the chain over his head and then dropped it in the bag. "My ex..." Ex fiancée? Ex girlfriend? He wasn't sure which it even was anymore. "Her engagment ring." Dante settled with that as a explantion and left it be. |

The final 'plink' from the ring dropped into the bag, which was closed and vanished a moment later into the back pocket of the vendor. Three things happened in quick succession; the bag was handed over to Leslie, along with a furled up roll inside that presumably were the instructions from Beatrice, Tyler snapped off a simple charm against him from leaving, and the force of the spell left him bound and sitting stunned against the chair... ...as the very letter that he'd been fingering with the proper instructions from Beatrice, predictably and immediately burst into flames. So much for evidence, hm? And dear dear. Tyler Rubin, have you forgotten about the rights of the accused? |

Leslie's hand was laden with the moonstone and she looked at the others, taking back off to the hospital with Emma in order to hand off the moonstone to Chris, they need to get these last few things done. |

Dante watched as the bag was gone, but no sense in worrying over it now. They had what they needed and that mattered a hell of a lot more right then. He decided to get something to eat on the way back, and something for Harm, because he knew well enough if she knew how little he was eating during all of this? Yeah he would have rather avoided that. Afterward Dante disapparated back to the hospital. |

Although she was a bit taken aback by the sudden departures and magically disappearing bags with their valuables and loved objects inside it, Kylie too turned on her heel and disapparated. The necklace...she was not happy to have lost, but she knew that Tayn would understand. Saving her sisters life was far more important in the end. |
