Thomus didn`t know what was that conversation supposed to be about. He knew that Danielle couldn`t help in any damn way, he knew it was pretty much none of her business, but he felt like he needed to talk to someone. And she was there so… well, why not? People did that all the damn time. But her words were met with an ironic smirk. ”Oh right, sure, why don`t you just go and tell that to my father?” He asked sarcastically before shaking his head. ”I`m not the problem. If it were up to me, I`d leave her the heck alone. Clearly, I`m not the one making the big decisions in this family.” He shrugged before downing the drink. ”I mean, I respect my father, I really do, but he`s just so… old-fashioned and typical. Sure, Pureblood pride. Sure, wealthy family. Sure, support the dark side… it`s getting pretty old.” He walked to the bottle and poured himself more then glanced at her. ”You want some?” He offered randomly before just letting go of the bottle and sitting down in his chair. If she wanted some, she`d have to help herself. ”Sometimes I just feel that this whole Pureblood system needs a change. A big one. But you obviously have no idea what I`m talking about so… whatever…” He sighed and brought his feet up on his table, leaning back in the chair. Then he suddenly frown and looked back at her. ”Oh and Danielle, dear? Just a small P.S. – don`t call me Thom. Come on… seriously?” he asked, tilting his head to one side, sarcasm obvious in his voice. It was just that… only close people called him Thom. It irked him a bit. |

"Well...maybe you need to find someone who he does listen to, and see if they can get through to him. Then again, I'm assuming any of those people would have his ideals in mind so." Danielle shrugged her shoulder's absently, the helpful comment gone as she realized it wasn't helpful at all. She wouldn't dare try and tell Edward what he could and could not do, but maybe someone could. How the hell did she know? She was just around to do what she had to and move on. Funny thing was, she had absolutely no idea what she would do when this whole thing was over. Walking over she poured herself a little bit to drink, but she wasn't fond of the idea this early funny enough, She swirled it around in her glass a moment, her eyes on the amber liquid. The corner's of her lips twitched into a amused smile, however, at the latter as she glanced up at him through her lashes. "Aw and here I thought I had earned the privlage," she teased sweetly, bringing the glass up to her lips after and taking a sip. |

Thomus just shook his head. There was no one that Edward listened to. Yeah, sure, he respected other Pureblood`s opinions, as long as they were just like his and as long as he needed that person for someone. Because in any other case Edward believed in himself and that was it. So, all in all, Thom decided to drop that conversation. It wasn`t helping in any way and if anything, it only made him irritated. On the other hand, Danielle sudden change in attitude surely caught his attention. The whole ‘looking through her lashes’ and the ‘glass by her lips’ thing kind of looked impressive. But instead of doing anything else Thomus just tilted his head and smirked. ”Right, well, I wouldn`t be so giddy if I had to sleep with an ugly old guy to ‘get the privilege’.” He said, watching her with a satisfied grin. ”And the bad part is that you`re not even getting paid for that!” Fine, he was somewhat mean, but what did she expect? He was Edward`s son. |

"Touche." Danielle set the glass down, neglecting it for now, and focused on the conversation. He wasn't always willing to trade comments back and forth like this, and mean or not, it was a game. A very intriguing game. "Paid or not, I don't get a choice remember?" she countered. "I'm just a commodity here for use until I pay my debt." She didn't really see it as a bad thing. She had to right? So whatever, at least she would enjoy her time. And that did not mean her time spent with Balthazar of course. There were plenty of people to have perfectly normal convesations with. Thomus...sorted of included. She was sure he didn't like her ad that didn't bother her a bit. Loads of people hated her, and she didn't give a damn. Let them hate, it took more energy to hate than it was to like. |

”Yeah, but usually women who do that at least get money. Some of them just get beaten so… good for you!” he raised his glass to her. Thomus was still trying to get used to having her around. Yes, she was annoying, but on the other hand, so far she hadn`t said anything to anyone and there had been a lot to tell. So, in a way, she was trustworthy. He watched her for a couple of moments. ”Pay your debt.” He said slowly, thinking about it. From time to time it felt like he had absolute power over her just because of a simple threat. And yet, at the same time, she wasn`t actually scared of the threat. It seemed somehow weird, but good. He hated dealing with people who were scared. They always made just the worst decisions. ”You know, I could keep you like this for forever.” He suddenly spoke, while looking at her. Not that he would, but he just wanted to get a reaction out of her. ”Who says that I will ever feel like you actually repaired the damage you`ve done by losing that book? What if I never let you go off your leash?” He wondered, raising an eyebrow. |

Danielle hadn't ever actually contemplated the idea that Thomus' would play games with the idea of her fulfilling a debt. The idea unnerved her a little bit, but she wouldn't be able to stop that would she? "Then I guess that only leaves me a couple options. One, run. I assume you wouldn't care enough to actually track me down unless I had valuable information. Two, deal with it. It's not like there's much to my life anymore anyway," Danielle replied, her serious control a little shaken and visibly in her expression. As quickly as it was there, it was gone. Not missing a beat she walked over to where he sat and perched herself on the arm of his chair. "I didn't know you liked me enough to keep me around that long though," she told him, the usual light tone to her voice as she poked fun at hm. |

Thomus knew that they had a deal and he wasn`t that kind of person to break a deal. Sure, he had his own evil moments, when he was angry or when someone went evil on him first, but he would never do bad stuff ‘just because’. It seemed absolutely idiotic and there were a lot of idiotic people around already. Most of all he asked the question just out of curiosity and was absolutely amused by the look that got on Danielle`s face. She seemed worried. ”Run. Ha. By now you should see that I`m pretty good at tracking down people.” He winked at her. Well, he tracked down Balthazar. And he did track down Monica. But what she said next got him somewhat concerned. ”You really don`t have a life outside of this, huh? Well, that sucks. You should find yourself a man.” he said then looked at her closely. ”Or a woman. I don`t know which team do you play for.” He grinned. As she walked by he watched her, his eyebrow raised. As she sat down he only raised his eyebrow more. At her words he rolled his eyes and took a gulp of his drink. ”You know, it`s really endearing to think that you would even think that I like you, but…” He looked back at her and smiled sweetly. ”Get the hell of my chair, dear.” |

"Yeah and I'm pretty good at hiding, but you haven't seen that in action so you wouldn't know," Danielle proposed, downright happy that that was the truth. Hding out had to become a skill as of late, but it didn't bother her. Thomus bringing her lack of a life into words did just a little. She didn't show it, but it irked her a little to hear it out of someone else's mouth. Naturally he had a much lighter comment to go along with it. "Does it look like I have time for a man in my life?" she inquired, not expectig a actual response. "Besides, no one wants to put up with this lifestyle." That was so the truth. She didn't like that it was, but whatever. Their loss. Maye when this whole thing was done and over with she would actually gain a social life, but right now she had work to focus on. That was certainly more important. As he said for her to move though, she smiled back just as sweetly and challenged him. "Make me." |

Thomus laughed to himself. ”As some great men have said over time – you can run, but you can`t hide.” He exclaimed, almost happily. He always found that phrase amusing. And so goddamn true. It amused him to realize that he had no idea about Danielle`s social life. They never talked about him and whenever he wanted her, she`d just be there, ready to do anything he asked her to. So why wonder what he stopped her from doing when he owled her, right? For some reason he was actually glad she didn`t have a normal social life. He didn`t feel so… left out. ”Yeah, it kind of does look like the only man you have time for is me.” he tilted his head and smirked. All in good fun. But the way the situation turned out to be somehow flirty irked him a bit. Fine, she was an attractive woman, that he had always known, but his one rule was not to get close to any ‘business’ partners. So far it worked out great. So, he decided to put a quick stop to it. ”Fine.” He answered as he put his hand on her arm and pushed off the arm of the chair. |

"Lucky you," Danielle teased. Thomus was just full of moodswings where he would talk when he wanted and ignore her when it suited him otherwise. It didn't bother her, but it made it dfficult to hold a typical conversation. It was always interestng though. Still, he put an end to the fun as she toppled off the edge of the chair; laughing as she laid on the floor. Well then. "I sense a moodswing," she said in a sing-song tone as she sat up, tugging her knees up to her chest as she decided to sit on the floor instead. "So, anything new planned or are we just sitting ducks?" |

As Danielle fell over, Thomus grinned and leaned over the arm of the chair to look down at her. ”Oh, yeah, that is so much better.” He exclaimed still grinning. Some things irked him, but it wasn`t like it would get him angry for long. Just for a short period of time, until the situation was taken care of. And with Danielle on the ground it was taken care of. At her question he thought for a second and leaned back in his armchair. ”Well, to be honest, I actually have been trying to work out a pretty serious issue.” he said seriously, looking at his glass. Cleaning his throat he reached for the bottle and poured himself a little bit more. Drinking was good. Always had been. ”I`ve been working on the issue of… your name.” He leaned to look down at her again. ”You need a shorter name, but you see, if I call you ‘Dan’ that just makes you sound like a guy and that doesn`t quite work, now does it?” he grinned. |

Danielle was skeptical of course when he said there was a serious issue. She could trust he always came up with something, but to hear what it was? She just relaxed. Okay then. "My family used to call me Danny, but I suppose that's not any better than Dan. Then there's the oposite way and there's...Elle. Or..I don't know. No one really ever gave me a nickname except my family." Who was she supposed to know? Her name seemed simple already without some added short nickname to it. Regardless, she had no other ideas besides those. He evidently didn't like the Dan idea so it was easy to assume he wouldn't like 'Danny' either. Standing up she decided that drink did sound good after-all, and refilled her glass and took a drink. Never a dull conversation with the man. Be it about work or in this case, her name. Curious. |

Thomus looked skeptically at her when she mentioned ‘Danny’. That was just not a little bit better. He was sure she could do better than that. But then the other one sounded pretty well. ”Elle.” he said, testing out the name and how it felt saying it. ”Pretty good. I think I could work with that.” He said more to himself as his eyes were darted to the wall in front of him. He watched how she got herself a drink, that moment just thinking about nothing. He liked such calm and non-serious moments when nothing seemed to matter. The problem of his father and his sister didn`t go anywhere away, the issue of Balthazar was still there, but he simply didn`t have to think of them for a couple of minutes. ”So, Elle, what do you do on your free time?” He wondered absently, twirling the drink in his glass. He didn`t want to be serious at all. He just wanted to have a simple conversation. Hadn`t had a one in ages. Maybe because he wasn`t really a ‘people`s’ person. |

Elle it was then. She could live with that. Nicknames made things more fun and for some people who liked shorter names, easier. His attempt at a normal conversation was cute. He sucked at normal and when he tried....yeah, cute. "Go to clubs, read books in my apartment, cook..." Danielle shrugged her shoulder's and took another drink. Her life was boring basically, when she wasn't doing some insane order for Thomus. "That's about it. I'm not interesting at all. What about you? Any normal hobbies?" Because you know, what he did now hardly counted as a reasonable hobby. It wasn't even a hobby at all, and if he listed drinking as one? Yeah that did not count. To Thomus it seemed so weird that people actually had normal lives. Partying while being young, meeting some people and so on. He never got to do that. His all relationship were made at either some balls or in the Death Eater Headquarters or through his father. They were all made because it suited him, because he could get something out of those people. Fine, there were few people he had around because he liked them, but it never worked out well. Take him and Ophelia for an example… All in all, to Thom it was always amusing that people had lives. Which wasn`t exactly the case in for Danielle. ”So basically… either dance while drunk around sweaty old guys or stay in your apartment.” he said and nodded his head. ”Fascinating.” he murmured sarcastically taking a sip of his drink. Drinking. Always a great way to spend time. Her question made him smirk to himself. ”Me? I`m anti-social. I don`t really like people. Unless I need to make a deal or anything…” He shrugged as he stood up and walked around his room, examining it as if it was the first time he saw it. ”Besides, it`s not like I can really be around any public places…” He added. |

She wasn't upset about her lack of a social life at all. So what? Some people played and others worked. She just so happened to get a little of both on a good night. Thomus on the other hand... "Boring," Danielle told him, her tone as flat as the comment. "You could to go out. No one's going to be able to see you very well at night, and if you went to some bar or something, then it's even darker in there. You're just making excuses." Excuses were people who were afraid and people who were afraid were no fun. See the problem? "You could disguise yourself too." |

Oh and now she was calling his life boring. Okay, it kind of was. ”yes, well, I know I could go to a bar if I needed to. That`s not a problem.” He explained slowly, thinking about his words. They were mainly true, yeah. ”But why would I ever go to a bar alone? To hit on girls? Please.” He hadn`t done that since he was in Hogwarts. It seemed pointless, besides, Death Eater girls always seemed to like him and be easily accessible and then was the whole Azkaban thing and after it he never really found the need to go to a bar and pick up girls. Just wasn`t him. ”I`m really not the kind of guy who would go to a bar to just have fun. I`d rather do something productive.” |

"You don't need to go alone or just for that purpose. You can talk to people or whatever. Better than sitting here." Danielle couldn't really talk though so she was quiet a moment and downed what little bit was left in her glass. She had already decided if there was nothing to do tonight that she would go out. Who knew where this time, but she wouldn't be stuffed up in her apartment again. "That's your problem. You need to loosen up." She put the glass down and walked over to where he was sitting, but she didn't sit on the arm of the chair this time. She stood with her arms folded across her chest, and her shoulder's squared like she wasn't backing down from the idea. |

”Hm, actually do something that needs to be done or sit in a bar with loud music and talk nonsense with people that I don`t give a damn about? Let me think about this…” Thomus mocked her, pretending to think hard on it. ”You know I just can`t choose! These are both so damn appealing!” She should have picked up the fake enthusiasm in his voice already. He thought that his life was okay. It was dedicated to his family for the most part, but wasn`t that what people were supposed to do? Adding to that, he had his own fun now and then. Not that many people knew about it, but hey, it was his own time and his own hobbies. When Danielle walked up to him he sighed, pushed his chair back and stood up, stretching his hands to side. ”I`m loose! Look! Looooooooose!” he moved his arms around, trying not to think how pathetic he looked right that moment. That was truly pathetic. With a scoff he sat back down, taking a big gulp of his drink. He always balanced on the line of being happy and angry and he was about to cross it. |

Danielle simply rolled her eyes. His attitude was obnoxious at times, but she put up with it much to her own surprise. She probably would have been defensive when he stood up too, but instead he surprised her. She coudn't help it-she laughed. Well, that was an interesting way to show it. "See, you have the capibility to be silly," she pointed out as he sat down back down and contemplated sitting on the arm of his chair again. "Come to the club wih me or something. And don't give me a funny look. You don't have to like me in order to let me get you out of the house." It was like...a frend offering a friend an idea. No harm in that was there? Besides, she had wanted to go out anyways and this way he could neglect some of his own stress in the process. |
