Calvin nodded at her, a slightly dry expression, as she asked him to eat sugar - he was fairly confident that she would escape the railing unharmed, now that the mattress was there. Calvin was a very logical person, and he knew that if he stayed calm, Keeley would be less nervous. "I promise..." he said, slightly uncertain.

And then he watched as she let go, and he never would have admit it but his heart was pounding rather loudly, he was nervous after all. And when he heard her scream, he was even more nervous, and so when she landed on the mattress and bounced off, landing on Calvin and pushing him back down on the mattress again, he couldn't be upset about it. He was too busy being glad she was okay.

Which was weird...she was just a tagalong half-friend who Kat had invited to Scotland, and so far she'd only gotten him into trouble. He sighed - he supposed he was becoming more fond of her, because he found her a lot less obnoxious, and much more entertaining, funny - maybe they could be really good friends. Because they sorta got along.

"Not ground, me!" he said, "you okay?"

Keeley realized, as he told her, that she WAS indeed laying on him, and she broke out in giggles. Lifting her head from what she found to be Cal's chest, she peeked open an eye, a michevious glint in it.

"Sorrrryyyy Callllllll" she drawled, smiling sweetly. "You're like, my savior!" She hugged him before rolling off, and instead of rolling onto the rest of the mattress, she rolled right off Cal, and off the edge. But the two inch drop wouldn't hurt her. She hit the floor with a 'thump', but was instantly up again.

"Awwwww mannnnnnn!" She said, stretching. She was super hyper now- her adrenaline was extremely high, pumping through her body. She jumped up and down.

"This is ground!" Laughing, she ran over and held out a hand to help Cal up.

"I'm alive!!" she yelled gleefully. "Lets do it again!" She raced over to the stairs to run up them. She was honestly thinking about running to the top of the stairs, and falling over the edge onto the mattress again. She had already completely forgotten how terrified she had been, and the splinters in her fingers from holding on so tightly didn't spur on her memory. She just remembered the rush.

Calvin gave a tight smile as Keeley hugged him and helped him up. He was rather annoyed when the first thing she did after discovering that she was okay was to run back up the stairs and attempt to do it again. It made no sense.

"How about not, Keels," he said, running over to the stairs after her. He grabbed her wrist gently and pulled her back away from the stairs. "Let's...go for a walk outside? I don't know where Kat is but I'm sure she won't mind."

Maybe outdoors wouldn't be any more Keeley-proof, but he would be much more comfortable if she was away from the stairs.

Right as Keeley reached the stairs a crushing wave of annoyance made her stop so suddenly she nearly stumbled onto the stairs. Utterly confused, she allowed Cal to lead her away from the stairs and out the door. She blinked, and they were outside. Just as soon as the feeling came, it disappeared, and she turned to Cal, a distant, confused look on her face.

"Did you feel that?" She asked, one hand at her side, the other in Cal's grasp. She didn't understand it- she wasn't annoyed at anything, though now she realized how stupid it would have been to 'do it again'. After a blank look, she shook her head.

"Nevermind. A walk you said? Sounds fun! What kind of animals do they have here?" She pushed the feeling out of her mind, and smiled.

Calvin shook his head. "Feel what?" he asked. "I didn't feel anything. Are you okay? Did you hit your head?" He smiled to show her he was only joking, but he did feel very relieved as the walked out the door.

And then he smiled again - he loved animals, they were who he felt the most comfortable around. He could really be himself - and then suddenly he was very confused. Because he realized that with Keeley...he was himself, he was more of a little kid - and that wasn't usually how things worked for him. He had to ask himself - how had she somehow done what Dea had done? How was it that he was comfortable around her?

"There are a lot of animals...I don't know them all."

Keeley shrugged. "Nevermind. I didn't...I'm ready for some fun!" She smiled back, hiding her confusion. Maybe the terror made her believe she was feeling something else. But then...it happened again. She felt double the confusion she was already experiencing, as as she looked at Cal, she could read from his face that he was confused about whatever he was thinking of, and she pulled away so that he wasn't holding her hand. As soon as she did, the feeling lessoned a bit, but she could still tell she wasn't feeling her own. And she backed away further, her face portraying her complete lost-ness.

"Cal...whats...why do I?" She mumbled, asking for an answer. Frowning, she walked back to hug Cal, experimenting. The feeling came stronger, and then all together disappeared. She rubbed her head.

"Animals..." She reminded herself, turning back around and walking away from the house. She, however, had no clue where she was going, just something big, and hairy caught her attention.

"Oh my gooshness its a horsie!" Keeley squealed, having never seeing a moose before. The weirdness forgotten, she started running towards it, fully planning on riding 'horsie'.

Calvin stood still as Keeley got more confused - and then she did several things that seemed very odd. She dropped his hand - and he fought the temptation to snatch it back because it felt more natural that way. Then she...hugged him. He was still going to have to get used to that...

"Keels?" he asked, cautiously. "What are you talking about?" He had no idea what she meant, and that was a bit nervewracking because she looked so positively lost, and he was inflicted with the desire to help her, and he didn't know what to do.

So it was quite a relief when she was distracted by thoughts of the animals - and then he saw a moose. When he looked over at Keeley, he saw that she had noticed said animal - and she called it a "horsie." Keeley running towards the moose...somehow that was an equation that Calvin didn't like, so he took off at a run after her.

"Keeley, wait, that's not a horse..."

Keeley didn't hear him as she already was near the creature several feet away, and she reached over to touch it. She didn't touch it with enough pressure for it to believe she was anything but a fly, but then she grabbed one of the antlers to try and climb on.

"Cal why does the horse have antlers?" She asked, scrambling to get up. The moose was NOT happy, and was blowing out angry huffs through his nose and sidestepping around.

"Horsie. Stay still!"
She told it seriously, ignoring the fact that it's ears were flat against its skull and it was making noises. She finally managed to get on, and the moose was still twisting around, trying to get her off. He didn't buck yet.

"Come on Cal! Lets go for a ride- it will be much faster!" She smiled at him, one hand threaded through the moose's coarse fur, the other reached out to Cal.

Calvin caught up with her, keeping a distance from the moose because he could tell that it was not happy - unlike Keeley, who was right there, trying to climb onto it. "The moose has antlers because they all have antlers, Keeley," he said, trying not to get impatient and trying to think of something to do.

Because he had always felt at home around animals, he approached the moose slowly, just as Keeley managed to swing herself up onto said moose. He stroked its nose, gently, trying to keep it calmer. "Keeley, you need to get down. Right now. Okay?" There wasn't much he could do, she'd already aggravated it and now the poor thing was liable to buck at any time, throwing Keeley to most certain injury. And there were no mattresses around to help her this time.

Keeley leaned forward and looked down between the antlers at the head of the moose, looking at the dilated pupils and wildly rolling eyes.

"He's not a moose...whats a moose?" she asked confused. "Its a big horse Cal...come on, get up with me! Why...why are you angry?" She looked at him, unhappy with herself making him upset. She just accepted the feeling this time, though she wasn't quite correct in her assessment of it.

"Keeley, he's a moose! And he's mad because...he's not used to people climbing on him."

He couldn't stop thinking about why Keeley would be feeling other people's emotions - it didn't make sense, somehow. Because it wasn't normal - and she was clearly very weirded out by it.

He studied the moose a minute, continuing to stroke its nose. "Shhh...come on, calm down."

"I've never heard of a moose so its a horse!" Keeley argued stubbornly. Being a pureblood, she had no clue what some of these muggle animals were.

"And why can't he just tell me that himself?" she asked, thinking of centaurs. She wanted Cal to come up and ride with her, not spend time talking to the animal. The moose finally sidestepped away from Cal and twisted around in a circle, trying to figure out if the 'thing' was still on his back. She was lightly, but not light enough.

"Cal come on! He's ready to run!" Keeley said, grinning when the moose moved. She wished hard enough that was sitting behind her that unconsciously her uncontrolled magic did as she pleased.

"No, Keeley, I really don't think that's a good idea." He shook his head, reaching out a hand to steady her in case she fell, and then backing up as the moose circled around him.

And then all of a sudden Keeley's magic took over - and he found himself, miraculously, seated on the horse behind her, startled as all heck and not very happy. "Wait...Keels? What just happened? Why am I...on the moose??"

Said moose was getting more annoyed and continued to move frantically.

Keeley laughed. "Cal! That was fast! And...its a horse!" She twisted around backwards to hug him, and then turned back , grabbing onto the moose's mane. She could tell he wasn't very happy, but figured some fun would lighten his mood up a bit.

"Giddiup horsie!" She said, jerking her hands up and down like the hair was reins. Almost immediately the moose jerked forward, running quickly down the hill. Keeley squealed and held on tight, laughing the whole way. Her hair flew out behind her, they were going so fast.

Suddenly, she remembered Cal had said wait, and so she pulled back on the hair. "Whoa horsie. Wait what Cal?" She asked, turning her upper body around to face him, even though the moose wasn't stopping.

Calvin almost had a very premature heart attack when the moose started running - he grabbed onto Keeley's shoulders, and tried hard not to fall off, closing his eyes. When she turned around he had to let go of her.

"I said 'wait' because I didn't get on the moose - it wasn't me!" He had no idea what had happened - though thinking about it, he had an idea. Magical kids showed early signs of magic. This could be something like that...?

The moose made an angry sound, coming to an abrupt stop at the edge of a lake. Keeley was mid sentence.

"What do you mean that wasn't you?" she asked confused. "Of course it was you, how else could you have gotten up he-" She slipped backwards and onto the moose's head, between the antlers. And got stuck. She laughed, even as the moose bucked.

"Cal we should probably get down now." she said in a wise tone. "The horse just ran us over several hills...he's probably tired." She looked out, barely being able to make out the house they had come from, holding onto the antlers for dear life.

"Wanna go swimming?" Nevermind that neither of them were wearing swimsuits; if she wanted to, and if she wasn't stuck between the antlers, she could have just jumped off the moose and into the water, thats how close they were.

"Keeley, I didn't cli-" He froze. The moose had stopped, and Keeley had fallen backwards - and now she was stuck. In the antlers. Resisting the urge to hit his forehead repeatedly, Calvin moved forwards, reaching out.

"If you promise to not go near another moose - or, another horsie - again, and we can get you down from there, then yes, we can go swimming." Maybe bribing her would get her to stop being crazy and wild.

As frustrated as he was, Calvin had to fight the urge to laugh - everything Keeley did turned into some big, disastrous ordeal. It was just...almost like he wasn't as worried all of a sudden. But he still was - he reached out a hand to take hers.

"Maybe just another horsie with antlers..." she compromised. She realized what his was doing with his hand, and let go of the antler to entwine one of her hands with the one he was reaching out. At that exact moment, however, the moose slammed his head downwards, and Keeley, still attached to Cal, went tumbling down into the water, laughing all the way. The moose, completely fed up, charged towards the trees and disappeared.

Keeley felt Cal's slightly amusement, and it just made her giggle harder. Completely wet, but in shallow water, Keeley looked up at Cal and grinned.

"I think the horse decided we needed a swim too..."

He took her hand, but then the moose dumped them both in the water. Which was quite the surprise – not expecting the cold, wet water, he lost his breath a minute. Instead of being annoyed, he forced himself to grin – and then found it surprisingly easy to laugh along with Keeley.

"So he was agreeing that it sounded like fun? Then why didn’t he stay?” He pretended that was upsetting for a moment, before he got serious – “Staying away from horses with antlers sounds like a good plan.”

"Maybe he didn't want to get his mane wet. Or he had a date." Keeley giggled and jumped up, running into deeper water, her soaking clothes and hair sticking to her skin. She splashed around, and squealed at the cold water.

"Or maybe he just gets cold easy. My mummy used to do that."
She shrugged, okay with the feeling she was now getting. And then they stopped completely. And she was okay with that.

"If you say its a good plan Cal, then I'll listen." For once...
