Feeling that something wasn't quite right, Keeley dropped it.

"Thats cool." Then she heard her name being called and she smiled. Running up to the top of the stairs, she immediately frowned.

Wow. That was opressive.

"Whats wrong Miss Kat?" she asked innocently, walking down the stairs and hugging her.

Kat smiled and hugged the girl back - she liked Keeley already, she was sweet and funny. "I was just worried you two had burned the house down or something." She was more worried about Keeley than Calvin, just from what she'd seen already of the two - but she was really, really glad Cal had made a friend other than the teenaged Dea.

"Cal, ready to go back to England?" He was still standing at the top of the stairs, not rushing down the way Keeley had.

Calvin smiled a little when Keels ran past him, but he only had to wonder why she'd asked what was wrong for a few seconds before he could tell - something was wrong. He'd known his cousin for his entire life, and he knew her well. She was more upset than she had been in a while - it was pretty bad.

So when she said it was because she was worried about them he didn't buy it - but it meant she didn't want to talk about it, and so he was going to respect her for that - and ask questions later when Keeley wasn't around, in case she didn't want to talk about it.

He headed down the stairs, not running, and stood when he got to the bottom, just a short ways away from them. "More than ready," he said. "You've been looking after the animals, right?" He wasn't sure what else he could ask about. "Is Alexa in England?"

Alright, so maybe he knew she was in England but he wanted to ask.

Keeley thought for a moment.

"Well...we didn't spend that much time in the kitchen." she stated, smiling. Although, it was a little harder to keep it up at the moment. When Cal came down the stairs, she went to stand by him instead.

"Oh yea! Cal was going to show me his big snake..." She clapped her hands gleefully. "Cuz he wouldn't let me keep the horsie."

Then she fell quiet. It was starting to feel a little exausting to be chipper.

Kat smiled at them both - "Well that's a relief," she said, smiling. "So home, then?"

She looked around a moment, feeling almost bad - she didn't consider this house her home anymore. Yes, Scotland was her homeland and she loved it so much. But for now, home was with Ragnar - who she had to save. Because he had to be okay.

Calvin nodded again. "Keeley wanna come upstairs and get ready to go?"

He wasn't exactly ready to leave, it was all very last minute. "And yes, I'll show you Charlie - and all my other animals. Alright?"

She'd wanted to keep/I] the moose? He was reminded again of just how naive and whimsical Keeley was - but that was amusing, and he had to say - he was so glad she'd come to Scotland, because without her he would have been bored out of his mind. And if she hadn't come he never would have gotten used to her.

"Okay!"

Keeley nodded and ran up the stairs again, feeling more and more hyper as she got further away. She only had her backpack, but true to her personality, her stuff was evvverywhere. She darted around, picking up things that were hers, and just stuffing them in her bag.

Once she thought she had everything, she went back to Cal's room and sat crosslegged on his bed to wait for him. She smiled.

"I'm ready!" she announced to him, holding up the messily overflowing backpack that she hadn't even bothered to zip.

Calvin laughed as she sat down, and continued to slowly pack his things away into his suitcase. As he worked, he said, "So maybe I'll be seeing more of you when we get back to England?" he asked, knowing he was going to miss her company at his side daily.

Keeley dropped her backpack on the floor, not caring that her cleat slid out, and stepped over to hug Cal. She ignored the fact he had things in his arms and was packing.

"Yes! We have so much stuff to do!" She said, somehow sounding both serious and happy at the same time.

"Cooking and iceskating and meeting aminals and playing soccer and swimming and reading and..." Keeley gasped.

"You let me fall asleep! We didn't finish our story!"

Calvin frowned. They hadn't finished the story, had they? "Another time," he said, slowly. "We have to go meet Kat downstairs now." He closed his suitcase and grabbed his other bag. "But I promise we can finish it later - you were tired, and needed some sleep."

She had been exhausted - how was he supposed to let her stay up too much later? She wouldn't have, anyway. He smiled to himself and began carrying his suitcases down the hall. "Kat? A little help here?" he called out.

Kat laughed and rushed up the stairs, letting herself relax and calm down for a little bit, as she levitated their bags so they wouldn't have to carry them. "So what was the most fun thing you did?" she asked.

"Okay." Keeley stuffed her cleat back in, and then swung the backpack onto her back, it still open. She just didn't care. Didn't even think about it.

He was being sweet. She had just been enjoying the story they thought of. When he called for Kat, Keeley stepped forward and took one of Cal's suitcases, holding it with both hands in front of her and walking. She giggled.

Calvin shrugged, not sure if he could pick a specific memory as the most "fun" persay. Nor could he pick which one had made him the most nervous, actually. So he looked at Keeley, then at Kat, and shrugged, and followed his cousin down the hallway.

Except he stopped to zip up Keeley's bag, because it was bothering him. Then he kept walking.

Keeley was laughing at her attempt to get the suitcase down the stairs, and paused at the top.

"Hey Cal...do you have anything breakable in here?"
she asked, just making sure.

Calvin shook his head. "I don't think so but that does'nt mean you can try anything crazy," he said, slowly, then thinking maybe he should have said there was something breakable just in case she was going to throw it or something.

"Its okay, I don't weigh much." She said, smiling. She then promptly set it down flat on the ground, backed up two steps, and then sledded down the stairs on Cal's suitcase.

She laughed hysterically when she hit the ground floor and when spinning past Kat to the door.

Kat saw Calvin flinch, and she went after Keeley, helping the girl up and trying hard not to laugh, brushing her off. She brought her back inside, gathered everything together, and apparated them all back to England, leaving a note behind for her parents.

They all wound up in Scotland. Kat opened the door, to find that her parents were in the kitchen. Everyone said hello and goodnight, and she sent Cal and Lexie up to bed immediately. "It's Christmas Eve!"

She helped Cal bring his book set upstairs, and made sure they were both all set, before she headed downstairs, trying to make amends with her parents and get set up for Christmas.

-------------------------------------

That morning, the tree was blinking beautifully, with presents underneath it, for Calvin and Lexie. There were a few small things for Kat but seeing as she'd basically been disowned by her parents there wasn't much. She didn't know how to tell them that things weren't okay with Ragnar and she wasn't having a Christmas in England.

Kat knew some of Lexie's presents might seem a bit grown-up, but she wasn't that young.

Lexie's Presents: A small, wrapped rectangle; a long, narrow, heavy package; a neatly wrapped box; bag with a tag - "Not practical for winter..."; a package that clearly goes with the previous two

Cal's Presents: a small squarish box; [you can't really tell what this pic is; it's a photo album]; a long package with a note: "You're not supposed to use it, yet, but..."

Lexie came bounding down the stairs, practically screaming "Happy Christmas!" at the top of her lungs.

She wanted everyone up. It was Christmas after all and she wanted to open her gifts!

"G'Morning Kat!" She said cheerily running to hug her sister.

Kat smiled and hugged her sister. "Merry Christmas, Lexie," she said.

Cal and her parents finally dragged themselves downstairs, and Kat grinned, kind of taking over.

"Presents," she said, firmly.
