Calvin smiled back at her and sat forwards a bit, letting himself listen to what she had to contribute, and enjoy the story. "The mermaids had to wait for Calvin to come looking for Keeley but when he saw the wet tracks the amoeba had made when they kidnapped her they knew to go to the lake - and there the mermaids told him how to find her."

He was finding this storytelling surprisingly easy - and it was fun. And Keeley was enjoying herself - and it wasn't DANGEROUS, which was the most surprising thing of all.

Keeley laughed and leaned forward, all but loosing her balance on her knees, to hug Cal. He was getting it. She then rolled off and curled up into his side, her eyes fluttering. She yawned, suddenly her exaustion catching up to her.

"And...uhm...So Cal went into the water, swimming for the deepest...darkest...dreariest part of the lake. But Princess Keeley wasn't scared. Oh no...she was just sad because she missed her friend Cal and was stuck with yuckie little worms that wanted her for her brains. And so she waited, standing near the window, but not too close, because the biggest, ugliest amoeba stayed outside of it to make sure she didn't swim away. And she was bored. There wasn't much to do in the small room she had been locked it. Several times she thought about sliding out the window, to see if she would float or sink...but she didn't want the yuckie amoebas to touch her again."

In reality, Keeley shivered, feeling the creepy crawlies up and down her skin, raising goosebumps. She made a sad 'ew' little sound, and rubbed one of her ears. She could imagine herself there, her long hair flowing in the water, and her soccerball floating away from her so she had to hold it the whole time, and being utterly bored. She closed her eyes to listen to Cal's next segment.

Calvin nodded, wondering for a moment why she referred to amoebas as 'worms'. But he just took it in stride, helped her catch her balance, and pulled his blanket up over her when she curled up.

"The mermaids sang a song that told Calvin what room his princess was captured in, and he swam all the way down, not scared of what was there, to get her out. He fought off the amoebas around the window and opened it, calling out to see if Keeley was inside."

Keeley smiled and yawned again, fighting against the sleep she hadn't properly had since she came to Scotland.

"And Princess Keeley...when she heard Sir Cal..." she yawned. "She jumped through the window and hugged him, after glancing around to make sure the yuckie worms wouldn't attack them...and...then there was a big...amoeba..."

She paused for just a minute to think of the next part of the story, and slowly began breathing slowly and deeply, her eyes closed, and completely quiet. She had a faint smile on her face, no doubt dreaming about Princess Keeley and Sir Cal. It was her method-- GO GO GO GO GO! 23/7, and then CRASH!

Of course, she only fell asleep when she was comfortable to do so. When she stayed with Niko's family last year for a weekend while her mummy and daddy went to some conference, she didn't sleep a wink. Niko was just too vile. Yet, now, she knew nothing would happen. She trusted Cal, perhaps too much for the short time, but she did, and therefore she was asleep.

Calvin smiled at her, and tucked the blankets around her more snuggly to make sure she was comfortable. "Good-night, Princess Keels," he whispered, and kissed her cheek once, before he rolled over and fell asleep on the other side of the bed.

Sometime during the night, Keeley had shifted from one side of the bed, to the other, and curled up to Cal's side. She wasn't a calm sleeper, she would talk, and walk, and move around, but this time she settled down as soon as she was next to Cal, her part of the sheets tangled up around her.

Dreaming about their story, she let out a little cry of dismay and immediately pushed Cal...off the bed. Of course, in her dream, she was pushing him out of the way of those icky amoebas. Waking up with a jerk, she sat up quickly, unsure of where she was for a moment.

With a very painful thud, Cal was pushed off the bed and onto the floor, where he was awake immediately and looking around. It took him a moment to get oriented, and then he didn't feel like getting up.

"Keeley?" he asked, wincing. "Are you awake?"

Keeley heard a voice and recognized it, suddenly remembering where she was. Crawling over to look over the side of the bed, she tilted her head in confusion.

"Cal why are you sleeping on the floor?" she asked, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. She smiled at him.

Calvin looked up at her, a combination of amused, annoyed, and in pain. "Because I like it better down here," he said, then frowned. "I think someone is a restless sleeper and it happens to not be me."

So he was pretty sure Keeley had somehow pushed him out of bed, WHILE sleeping. But if she didn't pick up on it he wouldn't mention it - he already found it weird that they'd spent the night in the same bed, for some reason.

Keeley sat up properly when she felt the mixture of feelings from Cal and was thoroughly confused.

"Isn't the floor hard?" She wasn't getting it. Afterall, she had just woken up. "Restless sleeper?" Seeing as she was asleep when all this would happen, she didn't know what he was talking about.

Deciding to see what he was on about, she slipped off the bed and sat next to him, cross legged.

"Well, good morning!" she smiled again.

Calvin sighed and nodded, when she sat next to him. He wasn't going to confuse her more by trying to explain. "Good-morning, Keels," he said. "Did you sleep well?"

So what were they going to do today...he figured they might as well try to locate Kat and get her to bring them back to England, because Keeley had been in Scotland for a while.

At his sigh, Keeley shushed.

"Do you want to sleep more? Coz I can be quiet..." She mimed zipping her lips and sat back against the bed, keeping silent.

For a few seconds anyways.

"I dreamt about the yucky worms!" she announced, her eyes wide. "They were going to eat you! But I saved you, so its okay." She smiled proudly.

Calvin shook his head. "No, it's okay, I don't want to go back to sleep." He smiled and sat forward - listening to her story about her dream.

"You did?" he asked, deciding she was very cute. "Well...thank you, then. I don't remember what my dream was about, or else I'll tell you."

He didn't want to share with her that his dream was, in fact, about the two of them getting ice cream - it was too simple and too strange.

Keeley laughed and rocked forward on her heels to hug Cal.

"Well I couldn't let my bestest friend get eaten!" She said, her tone conveying what she didn't say -- 'duh!'.

"And thats okay, cuz sometimes people sleep too lightly to dream. Or something..." Her mom had told her something like that before.

"How long do you think it'll be until that lake freezes over?" she asked, her thoughts flipping from one thing to another. She didn't even pause after calling Cal her best friend, and had said it so nonchalantly.

Cal shrugged, distractedly. "Depends on how cold it gets, and how fast," he said. "It might be now..."

He was far more focused on what she'd said before - Keeley had called him her "bestest friend". Which was...strange. He didn't have that many friends, and Keeley was the first one his own age - and yet she seemed to get along perfectly fine with him.

And he wasn't sure what to say to the 'title' so he said nothing.

" I wanna go iceskating!" Keeley said happily. To anyone who hadn't seen her on ice, but had known her on land, this would have been a frightening concept. Afterall, the girl dived off stairs, what the heck was she going to do on the ice?

Remembering how cold she was yesterday, and forgetting the fact that she had been wet at the time, she smiled. Then, seeing that Cal was distracted, she tilted her head.

"Whats wrong?" Even without her empathy, she wasn't completely oblivious.

Calvin shrugged. "Keeley, I don't know if ice skating is the best idea," he said, slowly. "And the pond here never really freezes very thick." He didn't want her skating - first of all she had no skates here, second of all that was probably going to be dangerous.

"Maybe...another time?"

"Well we can go iceskating in England..." She said hopefully. "Cal I'm really good! I can go really fast! I promise I wouldn't hurt myself..."

And then she remembered she didn't have skates.

"Well, and maybe Lynxie can trans...transfigure our shoes. And then I can show you! Do you know how to skate?"

Catriona, putting on a brave face, went back home to Scotland the moment she realized Calvin and Keeley were still there - she felt awful about sticking Emily and her parents with them but at the same time she was so glad they hadn't been around for the Ragnar ordeal.

Speaking of Ragnar she was still scared to death about him and had to find out what she had to do next - of course she couldn't leave him just laying in the forest, so she was going back the moment she could to move him back to the flat.

"Calvin? Keeley?" she called out, hesitantly.

Calvin shrugged slowly. He wasn't sure what to say, he hadn't been ice skating with anyone other than his parents and family before - and he wans't sure if he wanted to, because of the memories. But at the same time, he didn't want to lie and say he couldn't. "I've been skating before, yes," he decided on. He wasn't sure if he could trust her declaration about being good at skating - he could sort of picture it but at the same time. She was Keeley, and she was good at not being graceful.

He got up when he heard Kat. Saved by the cousin... "Kat! We're up here -" He left his room and went into the hall to greet her.
