Marina smiled one of those ‘supremacy’ grins, and said, after a slightly dramatic pause, “I slept with Llian!” She interpreted Carlie’s slightly dull expression as one of shock and excitement, and said, "I know, it's kind of soon, but it's great...I mean, he's absolutely gorgeous, and he's a fantastic kisser. It kinda sucks that his dead girlfriend is getting in the way of anything more than a physical relationship, but that can come later, right?” |

She wasn't going to lie, that news left Carlie slightly shellshocked. It was obvious from their behavior - Marina's behavior at the restaurant that she liked him a lot - or, as much as Marina was capable of focusing her attention on one guy. But they'd slept together? That was just...very sudden. "Um...congratulations?" she said, not sure of how to react. She really didn't want to hear the details and she was really hoping Marina would stop there. She has the tiniest bit of a crush on Llian, and she knew it was totally useless, but still. Not what she needed to hear about. And it wasn't like she needed to know anyway. |

Llian came downstairs, a few papers in his hands - some detailing about his new assignments. He absentmindedly walked into the kitchen and grabbed a water bottle. Heading out into the living room, he was about to sit down to read them through when he glanced up to see Marina and Carlie. He wondered briefly why Carlie was there, considering how much she'd told him she hated her cousin. Perhaps this was that overdue visit she was talking about. "Hey Marina, Carlie," he greeted. "Sorry..I didn't realize anyone was in here. I'll head out of your way," he said politely, turning to leave the room. |

Carlie immediately saw benefits in the situation. She had no idea how Marina would act or what Llian had overheard, but she figured - this would be very, very interesting. "Oh no, Llian, you're not interrupting anything," she said quickly before Marina could react. "Marina was just...telling me a little story. About...recent events. You won't be in the way at all - and please, Marina, continue." She had to hide a smile. This? Would be funny. |

"Carlie!" Marina said quietly - she couldn't believe she'd just said that, it was either setting her up for a really good moment, or setting her up to crash to a halt with Llian. Which wouldn't be fun. Giving her cousin a glare, she tried to think of what on earth she could be talking about that wasn't totally awkward, and when she came up with a blank, she decided she would try to explain to Carlie what had happened - without Llian finding out what she was talking about. "It was....really good," she said, failing to come up with anything else, and thinking even that sounded obvious, referring directly to what she was talking about. |

"Ok, then. That works." Llian took a seat on the couch, beginning to glance at his papers. When he heard the "it was really good" comment coupled with Carlie's description of Marina's story as one of "recent events"...he kind of got a good idea of what was going on. Though he didn't often do it, he was sorely tempted to use his legilimency to figure out exactly what the topic of conversation was...so he did. And he was right. Laughing silently to himself, he just sat and decided to listen. "So what was so good, Marina?" he asked. He couldn't help himself. |

Carlie, of course, had no idea that Llian knew what she was talking about, but she figured if he was smart, he would figure it out. And something about his tone of voice when he asked her what was so good? It made her wonder. And this thought, that he knew what Marina was attempting to describe, caused her to burst into a fit of giggles. This was just too good. "Good?" she asked, exaggerating curiosity. She knew her cousin wouldn't pick up on it, and she found that even more funny. She could set up an entire, awkward situation... "Come on, girl! Details! You've always been such a fan of details! |

Marina suddenly felt very, very awkward. How was she supposed to go about elaborating on good sex with Llian when said Llian was sitting in the same room as her, curious about the conversation, and getting over Meredith's death!? It was an impossible task, and she somehow got the distinct impression that someone higher up in the world hated her, and was looking down laughing hysterically at the situation she'd gotten herself into. "Uhm...well, the...pie I had...this afternoon?" she said, slowly. "And...whipped cream," she added, regretting it immediately. Why was she so bad at coverin up for things? Talking her way out of situations had always been a strong point, and then this came along. Admitedly, it didn't happen every day. |

Pie...and whipped cream. Interesting choices for alluding to sex, although he supposed they made sense. And he was now fighting the urge to laugh. "So what...kind of pie...was this?" he asked, sitting up a little straighter and putting his papers down. He was determinedly not making eye contact with Carlie, because he knew that would break his fragile willpower not to laugh. |

At that moment, Carlie was very glad she wasn't drinking anything, because if she had been, it would have promptly gone all over her lap. Pie? Whipped cream? She snorted slightly and turned it into some strange sort of cough. "Really..." she asked, wondering how Marina was intending to go about finishing this. "So the pie and whipped cream were...really good." She paused, biting her lip thoughtfully. "And...I'm assuming you shared this pie with your housemate, correct?" |

Marina blushed. There was no getting out of this now. So she was just going to make the most of it, and keep up her feeble attempts to hide what she meant until one of them said something. She could keep going all night, and fully intended to, if she had to. She wasn't going to be the first one to say it while he was around. "Of course I did, what do you think I am, some sort of selfish pig?" She thought that was pretty good, avoiding the topics of pie and sex directly, and instead questioning Carlie. |

"Really? I don't seem to remember this pie," Llian said good-naturedly. It wasn't his intention to make her too uncomfortable: he just wanted to have a little bit of fun. And this was certainly fun. He'd stop asking her questions soon though. He did have to hand it to her, though: she was quite good at avoiding topics, and she certainly wasn't going on. He actually admired her a bit for it. Not a lot of people would keep going with it like she was. |

She was about to pass out, she was shaking with silent laughter. She shifted slightly, and glanced at Llian, who was determinedly avoiding her eyes. "You don't remember, Llian?" she asked, feigning surprise and dismay. |

Marina frowned. That was an obnoxious thing for him to say. She knew he knew what she was talking about, and so there was no point in trying to hide what she meant. "I think you'll find you do," she said. "The crumb topping was fluffy and pink, and it lasted all night." She shrugged, throwing a hapless smile in his direction. So if that wasn't obvious...would he be wondering why she was discussing this with Carlie? Would he be mad? Would it push them farther apart then they already would? Well that was awkward to think about. |

Well that proved it: Marina could most certainly hold her own in a conversation. Any conversation, so it seemed. Deciding he'd been teasing her enough, he said, "Ah yes, that pie." Grinning, he added, "I don't know how I could have forgotten that." That said, he really didn't feel like creating an extremely awkward conversation, so he picked up his papers and began reading them again, even though he was highly distracted by what was going on around him. |

Still laughing slightly to herself, Carlie stood - "Marina, are you going to go check on dinner?" she asked, "You invited me to eat...said you wanted some quality cousin time." She could spend the rest of eternity teasing Marina, but Llian's tone of voice seemed to indicate it was done for now - so she was helping him along and changing the subject. |

Marina jumped - "Oh gosh, I forgot...uhm...well, Carlie, if you want to...help get the table ready? I'll have food all set in a minute - Llian will you be joining us? She was already thinking just how awful dinner would be if Llian and Carlie ganged up on her - or else, it could turn into a really fun opportunity to flirt with Llian, and she had no idea which was going to happen. If either. |

Llian shook his head. "Sorry," he said, "but I've actually got to run these papers back to Headquarters. But I'll see you both later, I'm sure," he told them. Standing up, he waved to both of them and headed out. |

Carlie sighed as he left - that meant a very boring dinner ahead. But she resigned herself to it - she'd had enough fun for that night, admitedly. So she let Marina do all the work while she sat down and waited for something to eat. |

Llian came downstairs to the kitchen to grab something to eat. He was completely and utterly sick of reading papers. He'd snuck files out of the Headquarters and had been reading them all day, trying to find some evidence of Gia's whereabouts. The only problem was, he could only risk doing this a few times, so he'd had to take quite the armload every time he did, and they absolutely had to be back in place with no evidence very early in the morning. So for now, he was taking a small break. |
