Why this guy thought he was so special was beyond Kylie. Maybe she'd just been in one too many of these with Dayton; she didn't actually care what was going on around her. Not missing the look that her sister gave her, Kylie rolled her eyes to the ceiling again. Another stray patient spotted the look, and seemed to widen her eyes at Kylie. Oh lovely. Spotted by the crazy patient...that probably wasn't good. No, but seriously, weren't the Ministry of Magic people just out to get everyone? She muttered slightly, "Didn't know he was so special." under her breath and went back to inspecting her nails. |

Jeremy nodded nervously. "All right. You come over here. No one else. If anyone else moves..." He trailed off ominously. After another moment, he changed his mind and spoke again. "No, wait! All of you: wands on the table in front of you. Now! Someone will come around and take them away from you. Any of you try anything? You know what happens." Declan sighed. Well, there went his idea to draw his wand. He took it out of his pocket and laid it in front of him on the table, still clutching it for the time being. If there was one opportunity, he knew he could curse at least one of them. Or maybe catch that Jeremy guy with a Disarming spell. Didn't look like that was going to happen. A few of the patients with Jeremy were already going around collecting wands. |

Kelly glanced back at Declan for just a moment before she walked over to Jeremy, her hands still out where he could see them, the complacent look still on her face, a little smile as she said, "Thank you." Of course, as she was standing next to Jeremy, she didn't touch him, or do anything. It was really good to her that she looked so small and sweet, basically. And with the way she was acting, it seemed that her personality fit her size. Not true, but hell. She was a good actress. There was no table to put her wand on, and she didn't take it out. She didn't reveal at all that she had it, and she carefully repeated her questions, waiting until he stopped worrying about the wands his friends were collecting. "I bet your arms are starting to hurt from holding her, aren't they Jeremy? Why don't you let her sit down? Just at your feet, she can't go anywhere. You have the situation completely under control, see? No one's going to hurt you." She glanced at the girl, a warning not to make a sound, not to try to run, and then continued, "Do you know where they keep the discharge papers, Jeremy? I bet they're in your healer's office. Who's your healer? The offices are on the fifth floor. No one can sign your discharge papers all the way up here, because they don't have them." Kelly took a short breath, and then asked, "Should we send someone to get them, Jeremy?" Appease them. Always, always appease them. Have what they want, if at all possible. Then offer an exchange. Kelly was running through the rules in her mind to keep her calm. It was the least she could do, right? |

Jeremy shook his head. "No way. I'm not letting her go. Not until I get those papers. My Healer is some Marrid guy. I can't stand him. Someone needs. To get. My papers. Now." He shook his head again. "No way; no one's leaving. Someone needs to bring them up." Declan rolled his eyes. Now he was wandless and could really do nothing to help out. But the guy who had the wands didn't look like a very big guy. Actually? Declan could probably take him given the opportunity, but he didn't know when that opportunity would come up. |

Damn. Leaving her wand out on the table near her, Tanya hovered next to it, not really wanting to let it go. As it was collected, she brushed her hair back and winced slightly. All right. Well, it wasn't like she used her wand most of the time, right? She didn't know what it was she was supposed to do, but she knew she wasn't going to just sit there. As long as it seemed Kelly had it in hand, she wasn't going to do anything. But... as it stood, she could just hope that Kelly had this, and try to play along. |

Hopping up on the table and leaving her wand out next to her, Kylie gave the guy who collected it a sweet, sweet smile. She almost (almost) stuck out her hand to meet him, but she swung her legs instead and giggled. What could she say? 'Hi, nice to meet you, stop holding me hostage?' Well, it seemed to her that she wasn't the only one used to these situations. Kelly was doing a pretty spectacular job, if she really only said so herself; she'd been in a few of them, obviously. Then again, Dayton never would have hurt her. So. Popping her bubble cum and waiting idly, she started humming. |

Kelly watched as Jeremy rejected the idea. Okay, she'd gone too fast. It didn't sway her, some people were more easily swayed than others. She did realize, however, that these psych ward patients weren't as incapacitated mentally as many would think. Jeremy just seemed overly paranoid, scared, and frightened. "Okay Jeremy, whatever you want." Kelly said soothingly, "Who would you like sent down? Many of the healers are in here with us, see, look for white jackets." She then tried a different route, "Who in the Ministry is after you Jeremy? Would it help if I talked to them? Got them off your case?" |

Jeremy paused, unsure of what to do. "Uh..... him!" He pointed to where Declan was sitting. "He's going to go down and get my papers and bring them RIGHT back," Jeremy demanded nervously. But at Kelly's offer, he froze up again and narrowed his eyes. "Wait... you're with them, aren't you? You're a part of the Ministry. You're here to get me too. He's not going to go down and get the papers, is he?" |

Kelly turned and nodded to Declan, waiting for him to come over. She could tell the idea of letting one person go completely freaked him out, so she said, "He'll go down, get the papers, and come right back up. Right Healer Clemens?" Kelly realized her mistake when Jeremy froze again, and she winked, "Do I look like one of those old, wrinkly men who have nothing better to do with their time than go after people they're jealous of?" "I'm not here to get you honey, I'm here to help. See? People are doing what you want, Healer Clemens is going to get your papers, and everything will be just fine." |

Declan stood up and walked slowly over to where Kelly and Jeremy were standing. Thank Merlin there was someone there who could handle negotiations. Actually, it was basically her job title, and from what he could see, she was pretty good at it. He nodded. "Right. I'll come directly back here with your discharge papers, ready to go." Was he actually supposed to let this psycho go? Well, he figured while he was downstairs, he could warn a team to be ready for the man when he tried to walk out o the hospital. Jeremy nodded, beginning to relax. "All right. If he promises." He was actually going to get out; that was a relief. "Ok, and you have to promise that no one will get the Ministry involved. No one at all." |

At the sudden yelp of paranoid accusations, Kylie had looked up from her nails, mildly interested. Strangely, these sort of situations just didn't get her heart racing anymore. They actually sort of made her pissed off, considering they reminded her of Dayton so easily. Dayton-Cole-Redea,...he'd been so much better at hold her hostage than this wack-job Jeremy. Honestly. "Bet the ministry's already notified." She said to herself only, swinging her legs under the desk again. It didn't seem to matter to her; Kelly had this wrapped up pretty well. The moment he let -- had Tanya called her Maggie? -- go, there would be a team of Healer's on them all in a moment. It had once been her favorite part of the game, considering that getting fussed over as if she'd nearly died was a lot more fun if it was her husband doing the fussing; now, she remained simply bored and awaiting the inevitable. Sure, she felt bad for Maggie, but nothing was going to happen to her. ...Maybe Kylie had played these games one too many a time, though. |

Blinking slowly, Tanya didn't move as Healer Clemens--was he new? Hm, she'd have to introduce herself later-- approached as well, and did exactly as Kelly said. Her initial annoyance at being glared at had long since died off; Kelly was handling the situation well, which Tayn was glad for. There was a reason she never handled psych cases if she could help it; she far preferred potions and plants and the likes of which she knew were curable. A decay of the mind was an entirely different branch altogether. Equally interesting though. In fact, now she was beginning to think that her own research on the Imperius curse might be pulled back up, for she was very curious about how all of this worked. Hearing her all-too-calm sister beside her, Tanya fixed her with a similar glare as before and shook her head very slightly from side to side. At that moment, she was just hoping that Kylie was too far from Jeremy to have been heard. |

Quietly, so Jeremy couldn't hear her, and only Declan could, she suggested, "Perhaps a low dose sed. Syringe not potion?" Merlin, she always felt so bad in these specific type of hostage situations. The person wasn't right in the head. All they wanted was to be free, but they were clearly too dangerous, and she was leading him on just to be caged again. "He will, don't you worry Jeremy." Kelly continued, glancing down at the girl. "And the Ministry won't be involved. It's alright." She moved, just slightly, so she was even with the girl, and she lightly touched her shoulder. "Jeremy? Look at her terrified face. Isn't this what you feel like when you thought the Ministry was coming to get you? They aren't, but she is very much frightened by what you are doing to her. Why don't you let her go? Just sit right at your feet, where you can still watch her, she won't run. You won't run, right Maggie?" At the girl's quick nod, Kelly looked back up at Jeremy, "We're helping you, now, could you please help me out? It'd be a little bit of a problem if my best acolyte was unable to work and heal, now wouldn't it?" At that one girl's commentary behind her - Kelly had great hearing - she resisted the urge to point out that she wasn't helping. Taking her attention off of the victim and the psych patient would just be detrimental right then anyways, but seriously. That was not the kind of attitude warranting the situation. |

Declan nodded almost imperceptibly, having heard Kelly's request to get the sedative. It was honestly along the lines of what he had been thinking of doing, so knowing he had a 'professional opinion', so to speak, backing up that plan was nice. He headed out of the room quickly. Jeremy listened to Kelly, beginning to relax his grip on the Acolyte. "All right, all right..." But then he heard that other woman. "Wait! No! The Ministry's on its way. I heard that!" And he tightened his grip once again, still holding the wand with a shaky hand. |

Deep breaths. It was one thing if it was a mistake of her own, but it was quite another when someone else made stupid comments. That. TOTALLY pissed her off. Kelly lightly set her hand on Jeremy's arm as she turned to look at Kylie, indicating that he should as well. "Jeremy, look at her. Does she look smart enough to be part of the ministry? Smart enough to have found a way to have contacted them? She's just making comments because she's blonde, and doesn't know when to keep her wishes to herself. She wishes the ministry was here, because then she wouldn't be stuck in the cafeteria. You get that, right?" Kelly then turned her attention, and hopefully Jeremy's, to this: "There is no way the ministry could have been called and is on their way. Healer Clemens just left, he wouldn't of had enough time to send one out and he promised that he wouldn't. No one else has left the cafeteria. Letting go of the girl won't do anything but free your hands, and she'll be a little less frightened." Kelly looked sympathetic, "You don't really want to scare people, do you Jeremy? You don't want to hurt them, you just want to be able to walk out. You want to be free, and safe. That's understandable, it really is." |

Jeremy slowly relaxed his grip on the Acolyte, still suspiciously eyeing the blonde. He supposed that Kelly woman did have a point. She didn't look smart enough to be with the Ministry. "Ok...ok, I'll let her go." He finally let go of the Acolyte, who immediately sunk to the floor. But she didn't move. Good. Jeremy kept his grip on the wand, looking around for any signs of suspicious activity. "I just need to be let out of here..." Declan knocked on the door and was let in by one of the other Psych ward escapees. All he had in his hands were 'discharge' papers' in a folder for Jeremy. What they really were were his medical charts and files. In his pocket, though, was a syringe full of a sedative. "I've got your papers, Jeremy," he said, giving the man a friendly smile. Jeremy beckoned him over, so he moved towards him, extending the folder. When he got close enough, though, he slipped one hand into his pocket. At least he wasn't holding the girl anymore, and he didn't look very strong. Pulling out the syringe, he stabbed it into Jeremy's arm in one swift motion, calling, "Ok, now!" to the team of Healers waiting in the hallway, who promptly came in and began trying to get the other patients back to where they belonged, even as Jeremy slumped to the ground. |

Kelly noticed that he trusted her to a point, and she put her hand on the top of the girls head, just a reminder to stay still. When Declan came back in, she knew Jeremy would be distracted, so she pushed slightly to the right. behind her. If the girl was quiet and stayed low, she probably could have gotten to Tayn. But what happened next was a bit more flurried than she expected, and it was all done by force. She flinched at the blood that came out of Jeremy's arm from being stabbed with the needle, practically, and she stepped forward to catch him as he fell. Probably was, he was a big guy, and she was...very very slight. So it didn't work. All she did was break his fall a little bit. Once he was on the ground she wondered, "Can mental patients be obliviated?" But she had to turn around, and she walked over to Kylie, who was still standing there, popping her gum. "Look." She started out, her voice hard, not at all like the gentle, quiet one she'd used with Jeremy, "I don't give a damn who you are or what you've been through. If you ever act like that in a possibly explosive situation again... I swear to merlin..." Kelly wasn't sure what she'd do. 'Kick your ass' didn't sound appropriate, and being ticketed by the Ministry was hardly quelling. But pissing off a redhead wasn't a good idea, and Kelly was very, very aggravated. |

Arching her eyebrow, Kylie blinked a few times and said simply, "Sorry, then. It just didn't seem like there was much cause for worry when you were in charge. You were very good at that, right? Took charge and all that. Wasn't like there was anything I could do to help." Well, she actually wasn't trying to piss her off further, she just was a bit defensive. Considering that she had never really been worried, so. She wasn't lying, then. What is she supposed to do, really? "So. Sorry, then. I'll be quiet." And pointedly, she put her hands on her lap, shook back her blonde hair, and kept her gum and lips zipped. |

Stepping in front of her sister and catching Maggie as she went, Tanya said simply, "Kylie, I swear to merlin, shut it." All right, so she knew Kylie was both telling the truth, and, going to drive her out of her mind for however long her younger sister was there. Therefore, she took the 'mom' voice in stride, and held Maggie--it appeared the poor girl had fainted-- against her for a moment, carrying her in the flurry to the table. An ennervate would have worked...but of course, she did not yet have her wand. "Maggie?" She said instead, as softly as possible. "Can you hear me?" The girl was groggy, but she stirred and sat up after a moment. It took her twenty seconds approximately, to have marched her way out of the room, declaring a leave of absence. ...Well. Tanya was just glad she hadn't quit, and the situation was under control. |

The Healers came in and started getting Jeremy and the others out of the room, and wands were being redistributed. Declan stood silent while Kelly spoke to the young blonde woman and then said, "sorry that was so... abrupt. I just saw an opportunity, and I took it." He looked around at everything that was going on; there was certainly a lot of commotion. "Well, I guess I got to see you at work," he said. "And I have to say; I'm pretty impressed with the performance," he said appraisingly. |
