With a delicate smile, Abi first spoke responded, "Sounds familiar....lock someone up, wish for them to disappear, toss them away..." She looked around her for a moment as though explaining this to a four year old. "Oh wait. I know why that sounds so familiar..." She rolled her eyes.

She still might not have been strong enough to stand up. but her monotones were refocusing as she processed the food. And he didn't exactly seem willing to fight her at the moment...at least not physically.

"Who's got you so upset, Mally?" She asked sweetly. "I want to give them a medal." And she finished off the last mini-donut, sitting up all the way. It was all she needed, or at least- it was all she was going to get. She asked for what seemed like the millionth time, her voice heavy with exhasperation and desperation.

"I don't bloody...get it. Why the hell am I here? What the hell is the point?"

He would have rather been at home. It was better than this. But chance an encounter with Monica? Hardly worth it. Malius let Abi talk but he was only half listening most of the time. Did she honestly expect him to tell her?

"Someone you wouldn't expect," he put simply. Then to answer her question, "Revenge."

Abi didn't even bother attempting to guess. There were a lot of people she "wouldn't expect". But she did get rather enraged at his last remark, and finally found the courage or strength to stand, which she did with only a little bit of protest--she'd lost a lot of weight. Shaking, she gripped the bed post and looked at his calm, simple demeanor and said furiously,

"Then kill me. I'm right here, Malius, I'm right here. Go for it."

She knew he wouldn't. She knew.

Or, well, she was hoping.

"When I'm done with you, maybe I will," Malius snapped, looking at Abi as she had stood up now and he finally stood up as well. "Right now? Right now you at least have some use."

He took out his wand then, grinning, and pointed it at Abi.

"Crucio!"

Well, at least she had a purpose. Granted, it wasn't one she preferred, but anything was preferable at that moment to the apathetic revenge statement with no end in sight, no reason. It gave her at least some reference. Dying for something, instead of "just because he could". And besides that, when curses were thrown at her, the pumped adrenaline usually flew directly into her monotones.

She could have dived to the floor, but things were happening too fast. Her reflexes were entirely deadened. And besides that, she'd half hoped he just would kill her...she wasn't expecting him to play first.

Which made her shudder, even as he once again lit her bones on fire with the curse.

Malius only grinned and let up the curse a few moments later, satasfied for right now. Still, he kept his wand in hand. "I'll be asking the questions, Abira," Malius spat. To add insult to injury he laughed. "Here's one---how does it feel?" Obviously he didn't care.

She may have screamed. She may have been shaking. And she might be under the impression that she was going to die. But all that did was turn her stoic, bitchy, and beaten. She wasn't going down without any kind of fight, and even if it ruled out physical, monotic, and magical assault--she had her mouth.

"How did what feel?" She taunted as well as she could, still shaking.

Her words actually set him off more if that was even possible. His horrible mood had found an outlet and he was going to use it. It wasn't any of his concern of how badly he might end up hurting her, because who was she to him? Making a growl of anger, "Sectumsempra."

She got a sick sort of delight from how much her words seemed to piss him off. Good. Finally. Was it terrifying? Okay, yeah. But if she was going to die anyways, might as well give it all she had. As his spell rippled through her, her blood pumping once more, she twisted, so that it cut a gash across the top of her shoulder, and nothing worse than that. It might have been a magical cut, but it wasn't as deep as it could have been.

Even so, it was soaking her shoulder with warm, scarlet blood, a tidal wave over her, arm and staining the black sheets. She twisted her hair, biting her lip to keep from crying out, and turned it together, finding it disgusting that she was wringing the blood out of it, dying it a very different red than she'd started with. Her blood wasn't exactly red, but a darker maroon. She knew from training that was good. It meant the wound wasn't deep. It meant the wound would heal on it's own. Her blood was raised, her adrenaline pumping...and she was blinking frantically , furiously, heatedly.

As though it were a towel, she rung out her hair, and flicked it over the other shoulder. She was standing still, shaking as ever, weakened from the malnourishment, and now- frenzied blood loss. Even so, she merely looked at him, and then very, very delicately, stuck out her tongue.

Malius watched in sick enjoyment of the violence that Abi seemed hardly bothered by. He knew she was, but it wasn't as if she'd show it. "You'd think you'd give up by now."

Abi laughed.

Or, she tried to. It came out as an exhasperated, deranged, cough. But the intent was there, and she shook her head a fraction of an inch, still blinking, still grinning all the while. "Not a chance, Mally-dearest, not a chance." It came out in that same sort of whisper, wry, twisted, and utterly dry. She took another step towards him, looking him in the eye, and soaking the ground as she moved in the maroon, dark flow from her shoulder.

"Know why? Because I know you won't do it. I am not scared of you." She was speaking in a dark, psychotic whisper still, her throat utterly dry and screaming in protest. Her logical side seemed entirely gone; she'd neatly accepted that she was going to die, and for virtually no purpose, but it was also working in a different psychosis. She'd been there hundreds of times, prepared to die, prepared for him to finally finish what he'd started by snatching her husband.

So if she'd been there a hundred times, she knew she could be there a hundred and first time, on his terms. Not on her's. No, for her, this was going to end, and it was going to end now. Playing with the blood-soaked strand of hair she hissed again,

"You don't have it in you. You've killed before, in cold blood, but you ever notice you've never killed when you talk to them? When you torture and play with them? Tristan. Drail. " She licked her lips delicately, tasty a sip of the salty blood on her face. "And now me."

Malius simply let Abi talk and he watched her carefully as if she'd try something. She was just trying to get to him and he knew it, but it was working. Every word made it worse. Every word added to his anger. Was it even that though? No. It was even other situations he was recalling.

"You think I can't?" Malius paused a moment, but his wand was raised. "Think again."

It only took him a second to think on it. On if he would or rather he wanted to just yet.

"Avada Kedavra."

There was a second. There was a second, that Abi saw she had. And she saw she had it, because she'd finally succeeded, her monotones had slipped into themselves, and she saw everything around her glittering gold, wrapped in Italian words. But in the golden state, words and wards were half time, and entirely silent. She didn't need to hear it, she saw it. And spinning it's painfully slow way towards her was the word Morte.

Her eyes were probably showing only white, or unfocused. That was an interesting thought. She'd never thought of what her eyes looked like in monotones. If there was any difference. Any change. Strange that she might be thinking that as she was about to die.

It was a split second decision. She wasn't going to die. She'd goaded him into it after realizing the natural defense against it. Natural defense. Monotones had come from D-State, they'd come from her physical body dying. And if she was to do it again, she'd merely exist monotonically, spiritually. That was as far as she'd ever gotten. Her mark was throbbing again, which she took as a good sign. She couldn't hear anything, it was a literal slow motion, but her heart felt as though it was going to burst out of it's chest it was beating hard and heavy, and slow. But it was beating, and it was beating, because in the second she could see the large black web, the emerald flash, covered in the shower of glitter and gold, she twisted sideways, and tightened her grip around his wrist. The one extending the wand of course.

She slipped back out of monotones, which pissed her off. Was it only when there was that amount of danger that she'd be forced into them? A literal killing curse? That was not good. And the more times it happened, the more exhausted she was And there was no coming back from dying. There wasn't. She would be existential. Her kids minds were in front of her, floating and she shook slightly as she heard the roar of the real world slip back and attack her ears.

"Huh. Surprise." She said it with a disgruntled smile, twisted, the pain in her shoulder seeming to double. She was losing blood dangerously now. But she could get into monotones. And she could lower wards. Besides that? Skull Kiss Marks bypassed wards as well. Ella (whom she assumed was feeling everything as she was) could technically disapparate right to her side.

She decided against trying to do the same. Where she needed to go was Mungo's. And that meant she needed to get back into her monotones.

"You missed." She taunted, knowing her grip on his wrist was incredibly weak.

Malius wasn't entirely sure what Abi was doing, as he figured she coudn't get to her monotones. For a second he thought it had worked and then he came to realize it hadn't. It only angered him more as it was, and he glared at her as she had grabbed his wrist. As loose as of a grip as it was, Malius shook her off and then took a step back. "Crucio!" Malius was fed up. Angry. Most of all he wasn't thinking before he acted.

He wasn't even speaking anymore. But she had to admit, that worked perfectly. As the spell hit her again, she blocked out the pain as well as she could (not well), letting it fuel her body to naturally fight back-- monotonically for the second time. Good. She was panting, she was beginning to be chalky white, and her eyes were bloodshot and wide. But she couldn't hear, and once more, everything was gold. It was killing her to access them, she realized. As Blu had once warned her. That wasn't good. But it was all she had. It was her only real shot.

Muttering in Italian, she examined the wards. Ha, simple. It took her only a few seconds, magically enlongated in this state, and she smirked to herself as they lowered. They lowered, and she could get out. She could get out. In agony, and pain, she blinked feebly, returning to the real world.

...which, reintensified the weight of his anger into the curse. Damn, he was angry. And she was going to die. She realized that for probably the fourteenth time that day, and decided it had rather lost it's meaning. The English language could be like that.

With the slightest bit of a smile, mostly with exhaustion and delirium, she spoke looking at him, her throat screaming once more in protest, and her voice entirely deadened.

"Good bye." It was the only thing she said, her hand clutching her shoulder, and she turned once on her heel, and was gone.

Malius was only half paying attention to the situation actually. He was too angry to be even thinking clearly, but it didn't take long to realize Abi had managed to get to her monotones. Once he realized it though, it was much too late. And when Abi was suddenly gone? Malius was more angry than before if that was even possible. Words didn't need to be said. Instead he disapparated with his wand still clutched in his hand.

After leaving Brad's she hadn't worried much about her younger self. She could take care of herself at that age anyways, so what was the difference? She was actually was in a rather bad mood as she paced around the flat.

She had changed everything inside so now there were new curtains on the one window, there was old, unused furniture from Escape, and even a bed in her bedroom. She wanted to turn it into her place again, but lately that didn't really seem ideal. Having company over wasn't ideal either, but she turned as Malius emerged from the doorway to the second bedroom a bit unstable.

Out of sheer instinct she was quickly at his side and slipped her arm around his waist to balance him out even if he nearly brought her down with him as small as she was.

"I told you not to stand up so fast," Ella reminded him as she guided him over to the couch. "You hit your head pretty hard."

She frowned as he all but slipped out of her grasp and he sat on the couch. He could at least sit up, she thought.

There was a bit of a blank spot in his mind between being there and being at--

"Damn it."

That was the second time he had to catch himself before he stood up. This was ridiculous. So he had a bit of a accident, big deal? He wasn't incapable of walking for merlins sake. Frustrated he was even more so as Ella caught him and he resisted shoving her away. Damn Morvanna's. To hell with all of it actually. Not to mention those-

"I didn't need your help," he told her, interrupting his own thought process.

"Sure looked like you did," Ella said, her tone annoyed. "I could have let you fall again. Do you really want to add another to the list?"

That wasn't her fault. It really really wasn't. He was just stubborn and resistant to any form of help. She wasn't the bad guy here. He was better off in this flat anyways then...

"I'm going to have to go soon you know, so if you want something, ask now."

As if she was going to spend the entire night at the flat. She had to get back to Escape before one of her sister's flipped out. Babysitting. Great. When Malius didn't answer but instead looked away, she put one hand on the arm of the couch and the other on the cushion next to him; essentially trapping him as she leaned down to his level.

"Look, hate me all you want, but I'm doing you a favor here so if you want...oh I don't know, water maybe? Something to eat? Then speak up."

Last thing she wanted to have to deal with. Honestly.

Really he could have labeled the situation was embarrassing. He didn't ever need help from anyone. Simple. Even if he did he wouldn't really ask. That was pathetic. So the way Ella was treating him, as if he was lesser than her? It was a awful feeling to have weighing down on him. He could take care of himself.

He wanted nothing more than to actually hit her when she had the nerve to demand to know what he wanted, and even got in his face. He couldn't. Damn it he couldn't. Instead he clenched his teeth in anger as he glared at her dead on.

"Go to hell."
