As she was released, she took a few staggering steps backwards and looked at his retreating back with a grimace. She couldn't possibly be sending him after her kids, could she?

"It is." She said with a bit of a snap in her tone. "You could try, but you won't succeed." Tris would be there. Tris would stop him.

And hopefully? Arrest him.

"Do you really think that?"

Malius though slid out of the room and shut the bedroom door behind himself, then stepped to the side to lean against the wall. He'd wait and see if she came out or said anything at all. If not? He'd leave. Even if he didn't kill the brats, what did it matter? If he came back and made her buy a story that he did, how would she know it was a lie? It would work in his favor.

"I think what I say, and I mean what I think." Oh, how clever of her. Abi nearly whacked herself up the side of the head, and grinned a bit afterwards as the door closed.

"And would it kill you to find a bit of food?" She yelled out the door, not opening it, and sitting pointedly down on the bed. After a moment or two, she collapsed backwards, turned over on her face, and uttered several silent screams into the black bedspread.

Black. Ew.

True to his word, Malius left the flat; no doubt going back to his own house, or who knew where-else. He was determined to find a way to to get Abi to drink the potion, and he swore he would.

It was beginning to feel like time had ceased to exist for her. She kept the newspaper she'd initially found, attempting to remember Kev's brief lessons in french to read it and always eventually giving up. Each day, with a pen she'd found in the desk- she inked out the previous date and replaced it. Abi knew it was important that she keep her sanity. That she keep track of things somehow.

She couldn't help thinking she was going to die.

It was impossible to understand, and she'd nearly given up trying. Stolen away, falling to pieces in an apparently abandoned flat in France, and dying of starvation? Of all the times Malius had taken her, of all the close brushes with death she'd had, this was entirely different. The apathetic responses from Malius had given her no respite, and yet she ached. She ached for food, she craved company, and she was in need of action. Something to kill this unbelievable boredom, that ceased time.

It was with a drunken sort of stupor that she attempted to focus now. She'd slept more often than not, but it was not restful. She'd searched the entire apartment, and she was down to her last mangos. Then what? What could she do for food? It was already not enough- she was already frantically losing weight and mind. The only thing she could say was that she was not thirsty, and she wasn't cold.

It was honestly little comfort.

She picked up the pen again, attempting to allay her hunger by writing now. Writing some sort of document, something to prove she'd been there. But all she'd gotten so far was;

"I write, until it hurts too much to stand, until I cannot stall myself to cry. It's not that I fear what's coming, it's just the senseless cruelty of the final act. The fact that I can't get out. I've tried crying out the door, I hear the newspapers delivered. It's just that I- "

Couldn't stand anymore. Couldn't stop herself from crying, in that bed for the time that once again was far too much to count. Couldn't do anything to stall an inevitable, slow death. Her mark wasn't even throbbing anymore, but glowing softly as she lost once more lost conciousness.

Malius entered the flat with the same routine of letting the wards down and then putting them up again. He was honestly getting tired of it. Hell he was getting tired of everything. What if he just disappeared? It wasn't as if it anyone would take notice or care, and it would give him space. Maybe.

As he walked into the room Abi was in, he tossed a paper bag at her that contained different things from a cafe down the street. Not his choice really, and it wasn't as if he'd pay for it considering he stole it from someone who was near the cafe itself; He was too angry and too upset to care about much.

Abi was shaken awake, but found herself entirely too weak to acctually do more than sit up. Thirteen days with mangos, apples, and sink water. She was getting used to the foul taste- it was clear she was not on a well system. Of course, that also told her she was in a city somewhere, and that she counted as good information. Very good.

The arrival of food was actually registered far before Malius actually entered the room; she was able to pick up most scents now, considering she was unable to really sit up or do most. With a swallow, she caught the bag and ignored him entirely. If she'd been worried about poison, she might not have been so interested in it-- but she knew that it was her only real option.

Besides, she could tell that there was no reciept and it was clearly, therefore, stolen. She'd pay ... homever " Ivore Majeste' was back later. (Did that name sound familiar?) She couldn't really recall.

Ripping the bag open, she immediately engulfed the first three mini donuts before stuffing half of a bagel into her mouth and trying not to choke. It was amazing- what might normally have been considered normal unremarkable food, felt like it was the best thing she'd ever eaten. She had to be careful, though. Her training slowly (mid bagel) came back to her. If she ate too fast, she'd throw her body into shock. It was the worst effect of the intense form of starvationi--she couldn't eat nearly as fast as she'd have liked to, lest she wanted to redisplay it.

She felt entirely beaten down, but it did begin to give her more strength. She didn't say anything, for that would have involved opening her mouth for something other than eating, and that would have been entirely pointless. With a swallow, she finally looked up and said,

"I really hope you don't expect me to say 'thank you'. Besides, if you're going to keep me here anyway, I think I'd rather die."

Okay...so she was bitchy.

Malius found it actually disgusting how Abi quickly ate the food, but he only saw for a moment before he sat down on the edge of the bed that was in the room, and put his hands over his face as if that'd help him think better.

"I don't expect a thank you, nor do I want it."

Ignoring the fact that she was on the bed with him (ew) and instead focusing on finishing the bagel, Abi muttered instead,

"Good." Oh-how-clever. With a frown, she said, "You all right?"

She didn't care, of course not. But hey- if he was miserable, it was all that easier to get out if she could.

"Do I look alright to you?" Malius snapped.

Honestly it wasn't any of her business, and she'd probably find some reason to turn it around on him and laugh about it. As if he'd tell her.

"Nope." Abi said as not-brightly as possible. "Bit interesting. Besides being unbelievably hungry, I actually look a hell of a lot better than you do. That's kind of hard to do."

She swallowed, although she didn't laugh and decided to just stop talking. Immediately, she ate again, finding another mini donut and popping it into her mouth.

"Apparently you haven't checked a mirror lately," Malius snapped, his patience completly gone.

Honestly he was there because it was better than his house and where else was he going to go to?

"I'd mind your attitude if I were you because right now I will not tolerate it."

Abi snorted to herself at the comment. She had, actually, checked a mirror. "I've found mirrors to be quite helpful actually." Something about them was having her and Ella switch anyways.

She still was laughing internally, but only said, popping another donut into her mouth, "Oh yeah. It's my attitude that's the problem. Which of us is the kidnapping murderer in the room?"

"You know, sometimes I wish you'd just disappear."

That would be helpful. Doubtful to happen sure, but still.

"And you know...someone gave me some rather useful information the other day."

With a simple eye roll (and another popped donut), Abi responded.

"You've done a pretty good job of that." She was obviously very bitter and bitchy about it. But she wasn't exactly keen on him making it permanent either. Blinking, she swallowed slightly and added a half, most definitely not heartfelt mutter of, "Oh?"

Malius laughed as he ran his hands over his face before turning to look at Abi. "Why should I tell you? All you need to know is that you aren't trusting someone for a good reason." He grinned.

Glaring slightly at him, Abi shook her head.

"That would require me to trust you. I don't." She blinked and popped another donut into her mouth. She was finding her monotones a little bit easier to focus now, but the utter exhaustion in her body was still leaving herself with a weak ability to fight back.

"Then don't listen to me," Malius retorted.

If she didn't want to hear about it, then that was her own problem. Standing up, Malius went to the door and shut it, and then leaned against it.

Looking at the door as he shut it, Abi said thoughtfully,

"Gladly. Hey, I've got a brilliant idea. You hand over your wand, let me lock you up, and I never have to listen to you again. Now here's the bright side for you -- I'll disappear from your life forever!"

She said it as seriously as possible, but there was a wicked glint in her eye as well.

"Yes because then you could lock me up and toss me away to Azkaban right?" Malius asked in a false sweet tone which he dropped a moment later. "No."

How stupid did she think he was?

"You should just get used to this place."
