"Like what?" Cody asked. "How babies are made? Yes, they come pre-ordered from the stork." He laughed. "Only we old-geezers know what we mean by 'only the good die young'."

"See? I was right." Cody said. "Only the good die young. So all old people are naughty old bad people."

Ella laughed. "Oh I'm sure," she said, then making her way to the edge of the lake and pulling herself up so she could sit on the edge, but not be in the water. After a bit she finally said, "I think I should go. Nice talking to you."

Ella then stood up and left.

Oliver had been sitting along the small, rocky shore of the lake for the majority of the afternoon. He hadn't had work that day, and they were kind of in the middle of packing and moving. Dea was at Trav, so he'd decided to go to the Order, just to see if anything was happening, but things hadn't changed - everything was in a slight stand-still.

Almost as if needing a reason to pick up again.

He brushed his hair out of his eyes, looking around. It was pretty desolate, and chilly. The lack of jacket would have made a human shiver, for sure. Oliver was kind of ignorant to it. He had seen Murphy earlier, and told her he was spending the day there, if she was bored enough to hang out.

Normally, he'd have asked her for ice cream or to go over the apartment, but it was full of boxes so he felt bad. He hadn't seen Murph in a while, though, so he hoped she showed up anyway.

Murphy hadn't done much lately except staying at home. Radu was over when homework had to be done, but his mother was still being her usual self in setting strict rules. Now that he had gone home and she was left to her room, she had written in her diary and then decided on seeing Oliver.

Despite the earlier visit she hadn't actually spoken to him some time and she was excited to reconnect with old friends. Thankfully she had practiced, despite warning letters, and could apparate. Underage or not she wasn't going to let it get her down.

"Hey stranger," she greeted, walking up along side Oliver and plopping down next to him. "What's up?"

Oliver looked up at Murphy when she approached, a half-grin settling on his face when she sat down beside him, and he looked at the rough waters again before he replied, "Lots, moving, baby, jobs, life. It's pretty awesome, though. I like the way the water looks, kind of like how everything is. Except it makes it look grim... but under the surface, things are pretty great."

He never realized not speaking that much led to completely rambling when he had the chance to go for it. He talked to Dea, of course, but talking to friends was always a different story.

"What's up with you?" He looked at her again, and noticed that they'd both grown up, appearance-wise. But he couldn't judge their actions all that much, because he was biased and he hadn't even spoken with Murphy more than five sentences in too long.

"Sounds like a adventure. That's cool."

At least someone had something interesting going, or a lot of interesting things anyways. She was hoping once she graduated things would turn out better, but that was too far away and she lacked the patience needed.

"Not much. The usual school and hanging out with Radu. I think Emily's at work right now or something so I didn't want to stay in the house by myself. Me and Rad were trying to figure out like wedding stuff but I'm not that interested in rushing that along."

In some ways that probably showed she had grown up a bit even if she'd deny it.

"Everything with Dea's like an adventure." He laughed slightly, because, no matter how ~censored~ing ridiculous and corny that sounded, it was true. Their engagement was less than traditional, and then their wedding, and then... now they were having a baby? Oliver simply laid down on the rocks and looked up at the sky when Murphy spoke, thinking about things. They were sort of in a hiatus.

Or maybe, from his viewpoint, the entire world was moving and then he was standing still.

At what Murphy said, though, he raised an eyebrow. "That sounds, really good. Kind of a long time coming, and will remain like that for a bit." He laughed, because there was no rushing and Murphy saying that meant it. He knew that much.

"Sounds familiar."

That, he muttered to himself.

"We should all get together sometime. I haven't talked to Dea in forever."

Murphy smiled as she remembered the random adventures and all the trouble they managed to get into. Those were good days and she chose to remember them the most.

"Well, Rad's mum is against it and crazy strict so possibly we'll just wait till we're eighteen and put that issue to rest,"
she explained and shrugged her shoulder's.

Married or not it'd be the same with Radu so there wasn't much of a difference. It was just the concept of it all and she still had to tell Emily. She wasn't entirely sure how that would go over, but she was hoping for a positive reaction.

"Ah, that sounds so great. I think Dea and I will invite you guys over once we sort everything out." By that, he meant more than the moving thing. There'd been a lot going on than just the moving thing, but he was hell of optimistic about it. "It won't be long, no worries. I think we have a few things to discuss, anyway."

Like, the baby, for one. And he had a proposition for Dea as well, if she'd have him.

He looked at her once more, "And I haven't seen Radu in ages." Her explanation about Radu's mom explained it, though, so he nodded. "Yeah, maybe that's better." The way his eyebrows popped up as he said that contradicted what he'd said, though. Oliver had heard about Emily, as the news had passed through the Headquarters for a bit. But he didn't think he'd ever even met her.

Rad's mum was probably the opposite of her.

"Sounds cool. I've got school and all that anyways so I probably won't even tell how long it takes."

Between that and hanging around the Ministry or with Radu she had enough to occupy her time even if it was just mundane things that got boring after a while. Actually, the Ministry bit was proving she had an interest in other job options than what she had first come to England for in the first place.

"Rad's just been in the states for a while. I mean did you hear about that ship mess? I won't go into details but it screwed up a lot of people and he took some time away."

She shrugged her shoulder's and then laid back on the ground.

Oliver nodded, thinking about how far from school they were, now. It was kind of a blur, schooling outside of school for Dea, and then training at the HQ for him. Until he'd been turned and that was cut short. He was more fond of managing the bookshop, though. Between him, the man that owned it, and then Jake whenever he wanted a shift, they were pretty smooth.

"What ship mess? How long ago? How's Rad, anyway?"

He'd really missed out. It was terrible. But he retained his worry for Radu, and Murphy at the same time. But, she seemed fine.

"Well, there was this cruise ship of hell basically. I joined up a group of people and they killed loads of people and hurt even more. Radu almost died but we faked it and he's okay. I almost shot someone and basically just followed orders. It was a mess," Murphy told him. "I didn't get in trouble though. I think they thought I was under the imperious but I totally wasn't."

She felt bad that Rad had been involved actually, but she had fun otherwise. Minus a lot of the gore. She wasn't a fan.

"Last year sometime. I can't remember the months so much because I helped for months before it and it all just blurred together."

Oliver held back his 'what?!' in favour of a sharp inhalation. "I say, next time you want to join a group, you, Rad, Becca, Dea, and I make one." That was, if she hadn't completely been put off from joining groups after the experience. She mentioned not getting into trouble and he shrugged, "You're a minor, I mean, there wasn't all that much they could have done. Plus, you're so...connected to the HQ."

He couldn't figure out how Murph had felt during the incident, but he knew he wouldn't have been able to handle it. Carrying out psychotic orders...probably would have just made him jump ship or something.

"Insane."

In the nonjudgmental way, that was. It was insane because it was so hard for him to imagine, let alone try to comprehend as reality. It was no wonder Radu had to leave.

"I think I just trust too much," Murphy laughed. "Just between us? I helped Faustus a while ago. He wanted into the Ministry."

She picked some odd people to hang around with that was for sure, but it was the thrill of a adventure that really caught her interest and not the people. It was just that people were needed obviously. She wasn't about to go around trusting Ryder any time soon though, or any of them for that matter. Though maybe Silver only because Murphy felt bad about what had almost happened to her.

"Definitely insane," she agreed.

Oliver raised an eyebrow, but then just nodded it off and waited until she finished speaking. It made sense, the logic, in his mind, that explained things. He wanted her to know that too, because he wasn't judgmental at all. People did what they did for their own reasons, and it was possible to find several things in a person that you'd blink and stare, and maybe want an explanation for.

It was no different in the case of Murphy.

"Don't agree with me, ha, you did it." He joked, let out a short laugh, "I know it's not like you did it for the bad part, but just because... it was better, more interesting... I don't know exactly the right word, but, I'm sure you get the point?" He shrugged, "Or, I hope you get it."

"I get it," Murphy told him.

Besides, the more dangerous stuff was the more interesting things to get involved in. Without the little issues it didn't mean a whole lot then.

"You don't have to answer me if you don't want to because it might be a personal question-" She shrugged her shoulder's, not so sure but just saying it to make sure. "Did you ever get used to being a vampire?"
