Keeley giggled when he poked her. "Maybeeeeeee..." she drawled, wrapping her arms around his neck. Which a little difficulty, seeing as she was rather...short.

"My mummy and daddy kiss and they love each other." Keeley announced, for no visible reason. She was still grinning and blushing.

Cal sort of froze, that wasn't what he'd expected to hear. Love each other? Well yes, they were parents, that's what most parents did. He gave a little half-shrug to get rid of the weird feeling.

"What makes you say that?" he asked, curiously, not sure of the explanation that she'd give. He stiffened ever so slightly, but stayed where he was because it was easier than bothering to move, and he liked Keeley with her arms like that.

Keeley looked up and tilted her head when Cal froze, and then stiffened. She let her hold on him relax, a lot, and bit her lip, not quite sure what to say. For once, she didn't want to be blunt and say it just outright.

"Uhm, well, I was thinking...it was just after the...I uhm..." She stopped and pouted. "I don't know." She looked down and bit on her lip harder. Was she actually embarrassed to explain her comment?

Cal looked at her, trying to figure out exactly what she meant, and then – he was really thinking hard about this. Because usually things didn't require that much effort, but now it was all emotional and confusing. He had to admit, he felt differently about Keeley than he did about anyone else.

So when she talked about her parents – and then blushed again – and got all quiet, he knew she had to mean what she was saying. And he thought he knew. Quietly, he said, “It's okay, I love you too.” If he was off the mark... well that would be awkward. But it couldn't get worse if he was right.

Keeley laughed once and poked his stomach before rewrapping her arms back in position. She was blushing bright red again, but he had hit the mark. Exactly on target, and she grinned at him.

"You're really smart." she said, though she had already known that. So, being the naive, innocent girl she was, she asked, "Does that mean we're going to get married too?"

She honestly thought that all it took was love, a ring, and the outfits. She read too many fairytales.

Calvin looked kind of taken aback. “Get married?” he asked, a little bit lost. When did ten year old girls start talking about marriage? What was the whole deal with that? He was very, very confused. “Umm...I'm not sure, Keels,” he said, trying to figure out what she meant.

Keeley studied his face for a moment and then shrugged a shoulder, hiding her face again against his chest. "Nevermind." She realized, at that moment, that she hadn't kissed him back; she'd been too surprised. So very, very quickly she stood up on her toes and kissed him in the same manner he did, and then she quickly spun on her toes and turned back to Moose.

Who promptly nudged his nose into Keeley's cheek. "Hey!" she said, covering her hot, red cheeks with her hands. "Do my cheeks look like apples?"

She paused. "Wait! Don't answer that!" she told him seriously.

He sighed and let himself relax - no more stiffening up, Keels wasn't too fond of that, and he would save a lot of effort by just going with the flow. "Alright then," he said, and smiled as she kissed him.

Calvin laughed. "Keeley, are you talking to Moose?" He was fairly certain she was.

Keeley smiled at Moose as the pony complied, letting her pet him again. She then looked at Cal curiously. "Yes?" she answered. Her blush was slowly fading and she smiled at him.

Oh merlin, when Cal had kissed her she thought she was going to explode. The surprised happiness was nearly too much to handle, and she loved every second of it. Even though she had made it slightly odd afterwards.

Calvin shook his head, amused. "I mean, I talk to animals all the time - but I figured out ages ago that not many people do." He shook his head a little. "Keeley Silverhawk," he said, finally, with a crooked grin on his face, "You are an odd duck."

Keeley looked at Cal. "What? Thats silly! Aminals are our friends. Duuuhhh!" she turned all the way around, her back to Moose, muttering about people who don't talk to animals. Then he smiled crookedly at her and Keeley couldn't tear her eyes away from it. At his comment though, she laughed and poked his dimples joyfully.

"You're just now figuring this out?" She was near bouncing again.

Cal watched her hopping around hyperly, and explaining about the animals being friends, and listened to her comment about him 'just figuring out,' about her being strange, and took his time in answering. "Well no, I think I knew that already - I was just making sure you knew..."

He trailed off with a twinkle in his eye. "You do realize you're out of your mind, correct?" he asked, laughing a little.

Keeley stopped jumping around for a moment to grin at Cal, staring at his eyes. He had some...slightly new...confidence maybe. And she realllly liked it.

"Well, I think I've known for a while considering..." she attempted to count on her fingers, before giving up, "Lots of people have told me that! And out of my mind? How is that possible...?"

She stuck her finger into her ear as her eyes widened. "Did those scary worms get me?!"

Cal grinned - "Out of my mind - it's an expression, Keels. Lemme check -" he moved her hands and glanced at both ears quickly, before pronouncing, "Nope, you're all set, no worms." That was easy...he thought it was adorable, the way she was so freaked out about the worms - just, very, Keeley.

"So what it means is you're absolutely wonky," he concluded, using an expression he'd picked up from Kat. It was an interesting word, and he thought it was funny.

Keeley laughed and hugged him when he checked her ears, not in a big hurry to move anywhere.

"Are you absolutely positive?" she asked him, just simply because it was deja vu and she had to echo herself from before.

And he called her wonky. Not really seeing this as anything but a good thing, she giggled. "Theres a chocolate made by a Wonka, does that mean a crazy girl makes it? Its really yummy!"

Calvin laughed and nodded, trying to act serious. "I'm absolutely positive," he said, and hugged her back. "Now stop worrying about the worms, you didn't go in this lake, did you? And besides - I think they're scared of you and me, now that we have our story."

He frowned, thoughtfully. "I'm not sure," he said, "I think it was Willy Wonka - and he was rather crazy, so maybe the expression comes from his name? I'm saying you're crazy, Keels... not that that's a bad thing, you're very cute when you're crazy." He nodded resolutely once.

"Right." Keeley nodded and then shook her little fist at the lake. "You try and get me Cal'll cut you to pieces!" she yelled, before grinning at Cal.

"Nope, I just threw rocks into it." Then she shook her head when he frowned, though in thought, and hugged him again.

"Don't do that it doesn't look happy." she decided, before blushing again. Dern blood rushing right to her face.

"Wasn't there a movie about that? He was really funny..." she laughed and bounced once on her toes.

"Can we ride Moose?!" she gasped and held still, only then thinking about that.

He smiled as she threatened the lake. "See, we know exactly what we're doing," he said, then nodded.

"Yeah, there was a movie," he said. "Fine, I promise I won't frown." He gave a big, exaggerated grin. "Happy?"

Cal then shook his head. 'We can't both at once," he said, "But one at a time I think he can handle."

Keeley nearly fell over laughing when Cal said they knew what they were doing.

"Do we?" she questioned, before running down the hill to Moose, who had walked over to eat some of the leaves on a tree. Before she started running though, she grabbed Cal's hand so that he would come with her.

She paused though, and smiled at him, answering seriously. "Very."

Reaching Moose, Keeley rubbed his nose gently again. "You wanna go first?" she offered, turning slightly to look at Cal with out stopping her motions.

Cal grinned, and followed her, keeping her hand in his, and when they reached Moose, he squeezed her hand. "I'm glad you're happy," he said, genuinely.

But then he stepped back a bit. "Me? Umm...no. Not really - I don't do the whole rides-horses thing - I mean, I like animals, but not right now..."
