Keeley grinned and pushed his hair out of his eyes without a second thought. Hers did that too, so it was a natural impulse.

"My mummy gave me this...muggle thingy..." she had to think for a minute. "You put the ears in your...ears and click play and it makes noise! A..." she bit her lip. It was a weird name, something she hadn't understood.

"An ipod!" She grinned."You got a broom! Cal! You can fly now!" she giggled, trying to think of Cal on a broom. Surprisingly, she could see it. Easily.

Then she stopped bouncing up and down on her toes for a moment, not realizing she had been doing so. She smiled a little shyly, a little abashed he had two presents for her.

Since she could not see anything but Cal, she took his hand and asked, "Where to?"

Cal grinned. "That's great, Keels! And I guess I can fly now - can't really imagine it, but hey, why not try? You're the one who said I should have fun." He shrugged.

He took her hand and led her two paces. "Right here," he said, calmly. "Close your eyes and don't look until I tell you you can."

Keeley grinned. "I can see it! And when you learn, maybe you can teach me?" she looked hopeful, before obediently following him, and closing her eyes when he told her to. She was extremely excited and bursting with anticipation, but she held still and waited.

"Can I look yet?" she asked, smiling. She asked a total of three times, waiting for a response before each one, and then fell silent, her eyes squeezed tightly shut.

Cal just smiled when she asked, and waved at Kat, who gave the counter spell and made the pony reappear. "Alright, Keels," he said, slowly. "Promise me you won't scream." He could sort of picture her reaction. "Open them."

Keeley laughed. "Why would I scream?" she started to ask, opening her eyes. Except for her train of thought rather died, and her mouth dropped open, eyes widening, and complete shock making her stand completely still.

And then she screamed. Loudly.

"Is that...is that a pony for ME?!" She asked, her voice more yelling than quiet, calm questioning. She jumped up and down, suddenly regaining movement, and immediately turned to Cal and hugged him extremely tightly, still jumping up and down. Then she ran over and kissed the pony's nose, quieting down now that she was near the animal. Afterall, she didn't want it to run off.

"I've got a pony?" she whispered incredulously, running back over to Cal to hug him again, tears coming to her eyes in extreme emotion.

"Omimerlin omimerlin omimerlin omimerlin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" She was grinning so widely her cheeks hurt.

Keeley's reaction made any trouble it might have been to get the pony worth it. She was so excited – it made him very, very glad he'd gotten it for her. “Yeah, Keels,” he said, grinning. "A Shetland pony - all for you."

He laughed, and hugged her back, "I take it you like it, then?" he asked, fighting the urge to cover her ears, she was being so loud about the whole thing.

Keeley looked at him, shocked. "Do I like it?"

Rolling her eyes, she kissed his cheek, and then laughed. "Of course I like it! I love it! I love you! Omimerlin you got me a horsie!"

Words could not explain how shocked, how happy, how excited she was feeling, so she just hugged him again.

Calvin kind of stiffened as she kept freaking out - he was glad she was happy, but he couldn't stop the blush in his cheeks when she kissed him and pretty much wouldn't let go of him.

"You're welcome, Keels," he said, keeping a smile on his face and his arms around her, because as weird as it felt it was just more comfortable that way. He whispered in her ear - "Wanna calm down a little bit?"

Keeley grinned when he blushed, a little red herself. She looved seeing him smile, and blush, for some reason. Dimples, for one, and two, because he was so happy when he did so. And that made her happy.

So when he asked her to calm down she still and then giggled. "That good enough?"

Calvin sighed, staying right where he was sort of half-hugging her because he was afraid if he let go she'd start bouncing off the walls again.

"That's wonderful, Keels," he said, smiling. "So tough question - which do you like better, the book or the pony?" He couldn't help asking, he was honestly curious.

Keeley smiled back in reply, honestly trying to calm down. But she was too excited. When he asked her the question though, she looked down, thinking.

"Is the book true?" she asked first, looking up again. True by the fact of Cal's thoughts during the book, or that if she got stuck like that he'd come and save her, and things like that.

She was having a hard time making a decision, afterall, he got her a pony, but on the other hand...that book meant sooo much to her.

Calvin laughed. "What do you mean, is the book real? Well I know it didn't really happen, but I can also tell you that if you were really kidnapped by a giant Amoeba, I would come and save you..."

He trailed off, realizing how corny that sounded, and not wanting to make it worse by adding anything else to it.

Keeley nodded seriously, though he was laughing. Maybe a her, though she didn't care.

"I'd have to say the book, but the horsie is a very close second." she answered slowly, looking up to meet his eyes.

"Is that okay?" she smiled, a little one, at him, wondering if it mattered. She realized he was still hugging her, and even though she was comfortable, she blushed red.

He laughed and let her go. "Yeah," he said, actually glad - he'd spent so much more time on the book, and worked harder on it. The pony was more, a favor to a friend and a service to animal life.

He let go of her, and stepped back, suddenly slightly awkward.

Keeley smiled back and then watched him step away from her, instantly missing the weight of his arms. She stuck her tongue out at him.

"I was just getting warmmmmmmmmmm!" she mock complained. "I guess I'll have to go curl up next to my new horsie, even though he can't hug me like you, and all that jazz..." she sighed and turned around to go climb on the horse.

"Does horsie have a name?" she asked, as she walked.

Although he wasn't sure why, or what prompted him to, he crossed over to Keeley and put his arms around her from behind. “Horsie's name is Moose,” he said, with a smile. “Just like in the story.”

He'd thought of that earlier, and figured Keeley might appreciate the reference – besides, if it made her smile he'd be satisfied. For some reason or another he was absolutely addicted to that smile.

Keeley smiled widely and leaned back into Cal's arms, enjoying that probably a bit too much. "Moose!" she called, petting Moose's nose gently with her free hand, the other wrapping around Cal's upper arm.

She giggled when Moose snorted and nudged her hand with his nose. she couldn't stop smiling, and she turned her head to look at Cal, her eyes sparkling.

Calvin laughed right along with her, keeping his arms around her. "So I guess this is what you meant when you said loosen up?"

A smile still on his face, he watched her reach out to pet Moose, and then looked down - to find his face startlingly close to hers. And all of a sudden, he wasn't sure what to do, because she was smiling. When Keeley smiled - it was just so pretty.

So, before he could really stop himself, he leaned down and kissed her softly, just once, on the lips, before lifting his head again, keeping her tucked against him - loose enough that she could get out if she wanted.

Keeley grinned. "Yup, we're halfway there..." she teased, petting Moose one more time before putting her other hand on Cal's other arm. It was just natural to do that. And then he was leaning closer, and Keeley held her breath for a moment, wondering what exactly he was doing. Because, obviously, she had to work for him not to stiffen up when she hugged him.

And then he kissed her. Keeley froze, utterly shocked. Not even on the cheek, but on the lips like her mummy and daddy did. She stared at him for a moment, her lips parted in surprise. And then she twirled around and stood on her toes, staring at him with a wide grin, before kissing his nose. (yes, on purpose :P) She just put her head on his chest and quietly laughed, blushing bright red. Cal had just kissed her!!

Calvin waited nervously for Keels' reaction to the kiss - and when she smiled and was so delighted and surprised - he felt a little relief wash over him. It'd seemed like a good idea at the time - and as it turned out it actually was a good idea.

He didn't stiffen up when she kissed his nose, or when she leaned against him, instead he stroked her hair a little, and surprisingly felt very...unawkward. She fit nicely standing that way, and he poked her cheek gently when she blushed. "Maybe more than halfway?" he asked, hugging her.
