Monica`s Room

Monica was sitting on the bed, her back leaned on the wall as she was looking up to the ceiling. One day. One day and she`d have Ralston in her pants. Well, technically, there would be no pants. Growling she closed her eyes and tried to relax her mind.

There was one good thing - hopefully she will distract her mind for long enough to rest from Malius. On the other hand, she will have to find something new, as she would just cope with the fact of Ralston touching her. The pain hadn`t gone away - it just had eased. Probably because there was too much on her mind. And now she almost wanted to do something, just to keep her thoughts away.

As her mother walked in she glanced at her. "Sure..." she replied, silently thanking for this. She needed a distraction. Feeling pain was making her sick.

Elisabeth blinked at Monica. Did she just agree? That didn`t make sense, did it? And still, she just shrugged it off. More simple it was, better it was. She was carrying a dress thrown over her arm. As she reached a chair she tossed it over it.

"Can you put this on? We need to see if it fits and fix it if it won`t." she spoke, feeling slightly distracted. At last she decided to find out why Monica was like that. "And... why did you agree out of a sudden?"

Monica nodded and slowly moved off of the bed. She stood up and walked to take the dress. This was all pointless and she had lost hope. Of course, she lost hope when she found that Malius was dead. Just now she had lost absolutely any will to fight back.

She took the dress and then froze at her mother`s question. At last she stabbed her eyes down at the dress. "Tomorrow this time I will have Ralston all over me... so why should anything mater anymore?" she asked.

Slipping out her her clothes she started to put the dress on.

Elisabeth watched how Monica stood up and walked to the dress. No matter what, this was a nice change. Much better than her hardly reacting to anything, or trying to make her mother feel miserable. So, she smiled, hoping that somehow it could help.

But at her words, her smile dropped. "Monica, we talked about this... If you will be a good wife, he will be a good husband." she said silently.

Monica slipped into the dress at last and exhaled. Man, sure it was tight. At her mother`s words she turned around and looked at her. "It just doesn`t matter." she said calmly, watching her. And it didn`t. How could it matter? The one she wanted was dead and if she won`t marry Ralston, she would be killed... so, how could it matter?

She walked to the mirror and looked at herself. Okay, the dress was nice. And it actually fit. And Monica only hoped that it could be the most special day in her life. Too bad it was probably going to be the worst day in her life.

Elisabeth looked at the dress. It fit. Thank Merlin - she felt too tired to go and fix it. She had been running all around the place, trying to arrange things. It was exhausting. Very very exhausting.

But then she shook her head. "With that kind of attitude you are only going to make your life more complicated." she commented. "Take off the dress and go to sleep. You`ll need to have a lot of energy tomorrow." with that she turned around and left. There was nothing more to say.
