"Well, I`m going to inform you that we aren`t a normal family. Happy?" Monica asked and taking out her wand pointed at him.

"If I cursed my father then don`t think that I can`t curse you. Leave!" she growled at him, losing patience.

Thom stood up "Okay. I leave. It was nice to see you Monica" he said and went upstairs to his old room in the Grant Manor.

Monica glared after him. She was going to deal her brother later. Now there were more important things to do. Taking a piece of paper from the table she rushed out and apparated away.

Juls had loitered around town for a while, staying out of the Den as much as possible. She just didn't like the feeling of anguish, and anger, and hurt that filled the rooms. Every single one of them. Honestly, she thought the only happy people in it were Mist and Ri, but they had moved out. It was hard to feel happy there, it was so dark and dreary.

But eventually she grew bored with it, and attempted to picture herself back at Edwards. It didn't work real well, she knew he had wards, and instead, she ended up on her tush at the front door. At least she recognized the door though, and so she unfolded herself, standing up, and laughed at herself, slightly, before knocking an innocent little beat.

She'd been a right smart arse, and was carrying a handful of flowers, a mischievous glint in her eyes as she waited (hoping he was there) for the door to be opened.

Edward had been doing his usual stuff. Taking care of people that he didn`t like. And trying to stay away from the people that didn`t like him. He knew he was back to his usual lifestyle and in some way it was a relief. This was what he was used to and what he understood. The things he experienced with Julianna were unknown and he didn`t like that fact.

Most of all that was the reason why he didn`t try to contact her. And why he didn`t want to. Nobody liked to change and he was no exception.

As he heard the knock, he was in the kitchen, waiting for the damn house elf to make him coffe. Taking the cup he picked up his tie from the couch and threw it around his neck. He wasn`t expecting any visitors. So, either this was some annoyed person or someone lost. Hated both.

And yet as he opened the door he was a little surprised. Looking at Julianna he leaned his shoulder on the door frame. "I`m sure I didn`t order any flowers today." he spoke, frowning a little. What she was doing there?

Juls was humming to herself as she waited, but she didn't have to for long. Soon enough, Edward was standing at the door, and she nearly smiled at his appearance. Always so serious and cranky, wasn't he? She liked seeing him smile, but it seemed like he didn't really know how.

Silly man.

But his comment on the flowers, Juls turned to look quizzically at them. "Well. It must be one of the houses next door."

She dropped the facade a second later though, holding it out to him, "I thought your house needed a bit of brightening up. Just like you. Will you stop frowning at me? You're going to give yourself wrinkles."

Because he was leaning against the door frame on one side, and holding open the door with his free arm, Juls ducked under and walked in.

Once she was in, though, she turned around and smiled at him. "Hi."

Edward raised his eyebrow at her. He glanced at the flowers then at her again. What...? He blinked few times. "I hate those people next door... always ordering me things." he answered, taking a sip of his coffee. He was actually amazed by the fact that she was there.

At her last comment he just frown more. "I already have wrinkles." he pointed out when she slipped inside. Slowly turning around he closed the door and watched her. Merlin, he actually forgot that she looked great. One thing that men usually remember.

"And I thought that delivery people don`t walk inside." he said, taking another sip, still watching her thoughtfully.

"But at least you know they're thinking about you." Juls answered, almost laughing when he pointed out he already had wrinkles.

"You look distinguished. Not old. Wrinkles from frowning are completely different."

He was always so cranky, she didn't understand it. What in the world was wrong with finding simple pleasures in life, and being happy once in a while?

But he didn't seem to be comprehending much at the moment, and she put her hands on her hips, flowers and all. "Rough night or something?" It wasn't a suspiciously look, it was a curious look, because although he usually acted like this - she sighed - it was slightly different. He wasn't reacting as much, she didn't think.

"Well, perhaps I'm a special kind of delivery girl." She just answered idly.

"They all hate me." Edward answered. And it was truth. After all, him being a neighbor meant the bad guys handing around the neighborhood. But since no one had any proves... the Aurors couldn`t arrest him.

At her comment about his appearance and wrinkles he only frowned more. She was young. And he had wrinkles. Oh, this sounded a bit strange to him. The whole point of her seemed strange to him. So, he didn`t know what to say and he chose silence.

The rough night... no, it was just usual. All of his nights were usual. Of course, except the one involving her. That wasn`t usual. Nor it was very rough. He slowly placed the cup on a small table by the door and took a step toward her. "And by special kind you mean... what?" he asked, a half-smile on his face. Ah, she made him smile...

"Damn shame. They're missing out..." Juls told him truthfully. And yet, he was still frowning, seemingly worse than when she first came. Deepened with every sentence she said.

And he was quiet. Usually he had a snappish comment for her. But he wasn't being abrasive, or rude. He was making simple comments. And although it confused her, threw her off, she couldn't say she didn't mind. Just another facet in the enigma that was Edward Grant.

So when he put down his cup, and smiled at her, Juls smiled back, much happier at that sight than at the frown that seemed so normal.

"Well, some of the usual sort. Through the wind, and rain, thunderstorms, tornadoes and hurricanes..." She teased, not moving when he came closer. "Some other things unique to me."

"Missing out? I highly doubt that." Edward said honestly. "I`m not the best person to be around." he said, once again being honest. Anyone who thought that he was, was probably crazy. Same fit for Julianna.

As she answered, he couldn`t help but smirk. "And what do you deliver?" he asked, not taking his eyes off of her. "Because quite frankly, I don`t find anything that important to be delivered when there is a storm outside."

Juls just shook her head. "You're highly underestimating yourself. Or overestimating your fear-factor. Or something like that. Maybe you have a little bit of a temper, and you do business with a wierd sort, but nothing I've seen thus far has shown me any reason for me not to be around you."

Then again, maybe she wasn't the best judge of character. Her track record surely didn't say so. Still, she didn't think he was dangerous to her. At least not physically.

But when he smirked, Juls moved forward to reach around him and put the flowers on the table he'd set his cup, just crossing her arms in front of him afterwards.

"Well, as you can see, several things. Baby's breath, wildflowers, daisies..."
She smiled as she deliberately answered his question with her ruse. "You'd be surprised how upset people are if their flowers don't get there in time, despite the weather. And some of us like the rain."

Honestly? She loved the rain. She loved being outside in storms, watching the trees shake, and the ground soak up the water. Loved feeling the relentless beating of water against her skin. She'd never really gotten sick that badly from it, so she didn't think it was a bad thing.

Edward didn`t answer her. He wondered what she would do, if she knew. He had done far worse than meeting bad guys in his past. Then again, he didn`t know her opinion about Death Eaters. Or people who beat up their own children. And he didn`t want to know.

Dropping that object, he focused on more important one. Her actually being there. For some reason, coming to him. "And you really think it`s because of the flowers?" he asked, now simply smiling. He had almost forgotten how it felt.

Taking one more step closer to her he looked down at her. "I think, it`s the reason that you deliver them." he said, raising up his hand and brushing his finger down her cheek.

Juls watched him for a second, curious as to what he was thinking about. She was almost going to ask 'penny for your thoughts', but then he was speaking again, and smiling.

She loved when he smiled.

"Yes, of course its for the flowers. I don't give them anything else..." She laughed quietly, though her eyes were speculative.

They grew warm though, as he moved even closer, caressing her cheek. "Well they know I'm not interested."

Not to mention, she didn't actually deliver flowers. If she ever dealt with flowers, it was in the den, and quite bluntly, no one noticed. So, no problem there.

Edward dropped his hand, still looking at her. "They don`t know what they are missing." he said, his voice serious. And they really didn`t, because all what Julianna brought to him was amazing and strange at once. He didn`t know how to deal with it.

With a sigh he turned around. Walking back to the table he picked up his cup and looked at the wall in front of him. He wasn`t used to this. He didn`t know how to act in situations like this. And that made him feel rather weak.

Biting his lip slightly he turned to look at her, but didn`t say anything. He was thinking. Probably way too much, but he couldn`t stop himself.

"Well we can just be in our own little bubbles in which no one knows what they're missing." Juls pointed out, crinkling her nose once as she continued to smile.

That smile faded just slightly, though, as he walked away. She should have expected it, he did that quite often.

So she just waited patiently. He usually did that when he was uncomfortable, she observed, or that arguing over something. He walked away when he was thinking.

And when he looked at her, she looked back at him, waiting. Either he would tell her what was on his mind, or he wouldn't, and it'd get past it in a few moments.

But gently, she asked, "So are you going to make me stand in your front hall all day?"

Edward took a deep breath and looked around. "I like seeing you standing here." he answered, his face still serious. Taking a sip he now didn`t pull his eyes away. His words were truth and it amazed him. He really enjoyed to just watch her. And he told her that. It was a lot.

"I just..." he spoke but broke off. He sucked at conversations like these. That`s what Elisabeth always told him. He didn`t know how to be sensitive. "I don`t know what makes you stand here." he finished the sentence, even though it wasn`t what he wanted to say at the beginning.

Juls just tilted her head when he spoke, finally, and asked lightly, "I'm good decor?"

She didn't really understand what he was saying. She looked good standing there? Somehow, she didn't think it was just the fact he thought she looked pretty, or whatever it was. Finally he was just looking at her, and she almost squirmed. She felt like she was almost being appraised. Maybe.

But whatever he was trying to say wasn't coming out smoothly, and she stopped thinking for just a moment to hear. To really hear what he was trying to say.

She knew instantly when he decided to switch tracks. Still, she answered his question with a simple, "Because I feel like it. Because you haven't hurt me. Because you haven't truly walked out on me. Because..." Juls just shrugged. It was really too soon to be saying anything serious. She was willing to give anything a shot, surprisingly. Because he was the first man after all the others she'd given up on that wasn't groping her at clubs and trying to sweet talk her. he was different, and she was having fun trying to figure him out.

"Just because."

Edward listened to her and shook his head. "I did all that." He disagreed. But only because it was plain truth. He hurt her when they had that fight. He walked out on her many times when they first met. How come she didn`t notice it?

Slowly he realized that for the first time in his life this was something so real. With Elisabeth... even if he loved her, the reason she came to him was his money and his name. And he never thought about any of it, because he was just pleased that she was with him.

But now, Julianna actually made him think. And at some point, he hated it. Because he knew that she shouldn`t trust him. "And you think that 'because' is actually enough?" he asked thoughtfully.

Juls struggled for a moment, looking away as she fidgeted. Her fingers, gripping the sides of her skirt, white-knuckled. Jaw, clenched. Eyes, raised to the ceiling stubbornly.

"You did none of that. You have not beaten me so severely I flinched away from helping hands. You have not cut me off from anyone I care about. You've not locked me in a room, denying me medical attention and food because you were scared of being found out. You have not forced your way into my mind in order to break me. You have not found me in a pool of my own blood, and left me there. Don't you dare tell me you've hurt me until you feel like doing one of those, and if you do? Warn me. I'll be gone. But you haven't. Walking away from someone you don't know, that's not hurting me. Confused? That's not either. Suspicious? I don't blame you, I'm sure many people have come to you for standing, or money, or help of some sort. So don't you damn well tell me that you've hurt me, because if you had, I'd not be standing here!"

She didn't look at him. She couldn't. Instead, her arms just slid up to clench tightly against her chest. And she didn't answer his last question. Things happened. You never knew if something would work or not, but how would you know if you didn't try? Juls didn't think his last question deserved an answer, and bluntly, she didn't think she was able to talk right that moment anyways.
