Edward smirked as Monica left. "So pathetic... I can hardly believe she`s my own blood..." he took a sip of his drink.

Edward slowly walked into his old bedroom and looked around. Then breathed out. He wasn`t sure what made him go there. But he would always do that when he had to think or when he wasn`t feeling that great. This was no exception.

Moving towards a big armchair, he gripped his fingers tighter around a glass of Firewhisky. This mess with Julianna... It was so annoying. Why couldn`t she just try not to make him angry all of the time?

Sitting down he darted his eyes through the window. After all, maybe this was for the better. He wasn`t a relationship of a guy. Married once... married for life.

Elisabeth knew that this was dangerous. She might go and kill herself. But when she thought about it... if she did this in the past, so in the future she`d know that she did it, right? So, it was safe. Or so, she hoped.

And yet she closed her eyes when she felt a strange pulling sensation. Even if she hated to admit it, she was slightly nervous. What if everything was way too different in the future? What if she wasn`t a Grant anymore? That was a horrifying thought.

When the pulling sensation stopped she kept standing for a couple of moments. Then opened her eyes. Obviously she was still in the bedroom that she had left. And seeing that nothing has changed at all, for a moment there she was sure that this didn`t work.

And then she noticed someone sitting in Edward`s armchair. Even if she was seeing only his back, it didn`t take her long to realize that this was Edward. His hair was grey here and there, but from the back... he hadn`t changed though.

Sitting there, holding a glass, looking through the window. So known. She also realized that there must have been a frown on his face - it always was there when he was thinking.

Swallowing a gulp in her throat (who knew how he would react? After all, she knew nothing about the future) she tried to move forward, but realized that her legs were pretty stiff. So instead, she cleared her throat. "Edward...?" she murmured, her voice silent.

Edward knew that he shouldn`t waste his time like that. It was pointless. Sitting there, thinking about Julianna. Wondering if he had made the right decision, deciding at last and then once again doubting himself. It was like a merry-go-round.

For a second there he felt as if someone was in the room. Which was ridiculous. For two reasons - people couldn`t come in unless they were invited. Or if they were family members. Knowing well that both his daughter and his son would have already spoken he just shrugged it off.

And then he heard a voice... a voice that he hadn`t heard for over two years. His eyes went wide and his muscles tensed up. Seriously, was he going crazy? Because he could swear that he just heard Elisabeth silently calling him.

Sitting tensed up for a few more moments he shook his head at last. So he was going crazy. Rubbing his eyes with his fingers he only sighed. Probably he just needed a rest.

Elisabeth watched him closely. When she called his name he seemed like he tensed up. She could see how his grip on the glass tightened. She was scared that they may have had a fight and that was why he was angry on her, probably. But she couldn`t be sure.

Then he just shook his head and rubbed his eyes. Well this was strange. He wasn`t angry. Because if he would have been, he`d keep like that for a while. He seemed almost reluctant.

Softly frowning Liz at last took a step. "Edward...? What`s wrong?" she asked, for a moment forgetting that she must be much younger than she was then. Twenty two years is quite a lot.

Edward had decided that it was only his mind playing a cruel joke on him, when he heard that voice again. No, this sounded too real. This couldn`t be just imagination, could it?

Quickly he turned to the side from where the voice came. And his eyes went wide again. Loosing his grip on the glass he felt how it slipped out and fell down, breaking into little shards.

But yet, he didn`t care. The glass slipping out was the last thing he felt. After that came total numbness. Elisabeth. Elisabeth, his Elisabeth was standing right there. Looking at him. Looking more beautiful than he had remembered.

The next thing he did was just stared. There were sooo many questions in his head, but he just couldn`t formulate them. And even if he could, he was sure that he couldn`t make a sound by then. Either he went completely insane or... someone was trying to kill him.

Elisabeth took a step back as he so quickly turned to look at her. He was obviously surprised. Even if he usually wasn`t showing his emotions, she could always say how he was feeling. Not only because of her Empathy. But also because she had known him long enough to understand.

Her eyes followed the glass as it fell and broke. Then looked back up at him. She couldn`t understand what made him react so strongly. She couldn`t think of a reason for it.

Then she realized that it might be because of how young she was looking. Wasn`t she supposed to be like... fifty-six about that time? And now she was only thirty-four. "Edward." Liz spoke, swallowing another lump.

"It`s me, Elisabeth. I know I look younger than I should be and that is because I come from... the past." she rambled out. Of course, she could have said anything smarter, but she was a bit thrown off by his reaction.

It was only then when she looked closer at him. He had changed. A lot. Got older. Got wrinkles because of all the frowning.

Edward just kept staring at her. This was... way too much to understand. Then she spoke and he could hardly hear what she was saying. From the past something? He probably was going crazy.

Of course, he should be more careful, as this might be only a cover of someone, but... how could he? It was Elisabeth standing in this room. How could he even think straight?

Slowly he placed his hand on the handle and pushed himself up. Not pulling his eyes away. Not for once, being slightly afraid that she might disappear. If this was a dream it was one of the most realistic he had. And he didn`t complain.

"Liz..." he breathed out. Her name sounded strange to him by coming from his mouth. He hadn`t used that name in ages. Not because she was gone, but because they barely even talked before her death.

Taking a step forward he was still waiting to wake up. Edward just couldn`t understand how she could be there. Looking at him. Looking so young and so... amazing. He was speechless once again.

Realizing that this might be only his mind playing with him, he decided to make sure. Taking few steps he got close to her. Then raised up his hand. To be frank, he was scared to touch her. What if she wasn`t real? What if he was looking at nothing but air, imagining her when he found his life hard to deal with?

And yet he stretched his hand, softly touching her cheek. His fingers were trembling and numb, but he still felt it. He still felt her skin under his fingertips.

Elisabeth watched him, slightly surpised. He was shocked. Doubtful. And even scared. But she had never before seen that look on his face. As if he didn`t believe this was real. And as if she was dead. A cold shiver ran down her spine.

As he walked over, she kept standing still. And she didn`t move when he touched her cheek lightly. It all amazed her. He had never looked at her like this. Not since their marriage. And it scared her as well.

Her hand shot up in air as she wanted to pull his off, but then decided not to. He didn`t like it when she tried to do something against his acts. So, she only kept standing, letting him do what ever came in his mind. Him calling her Liz also surprised her. It had been nothing more but Elisabeth for pretty long now.

After few moments she decided that she owed him an explanation. "Edward, listen... I know this is strange and I shouldn`t be here. I was curious. Twenty two years ago? I took a Time turner. And now I`m here. I mean... it has been only a second for me, but I`ve realized, this must be strange to you." she was trying her best to explain. And to understand.

Edward let his fingers move around her face. He knew every curve there. He had longed to touch her face for so long. This just couldn`t be real. It couldn`t be happening. She was dead. He saw her dead. And she didn`t look as beautiful as she was looking now.

Then she started speaking again and he was trying hard to concentrate on her words. At last few of them sunk in. Twenty two years ago. Time turner. She. Here. Curious. That made perfect sense. And yet, he couldn`t believe her.

"My Merlin..." he heard himself saying aloud. Edward`s heart started to pound faster when he realized that it was her. When he realized what had happened and how she was there.

Not for another second he could control himself. He had waited too long for this. Obviously, he never thought that it would happen. Throwing his arms around her he pressed her hard to himself. His heart was pounding like crazy when she felt his body next to his.

Putting his nose in her hair he breathed in her scent. "Elisabeth..." he murmured, not even realizing that. His eyes were tight shut as he just kept holding her close. He didn`t want to know anything. He just wanted to hold her.

Elisabeth gasped slightly as he suddenly threw his arms around her. She was not expecting that. What, did time change him that much? He had never before done this. All the time, every single minute with her he was rather self-contained about his feelings.

She stood still for a couple of moments. Then very slowly and so not sure of herself put her arms around his back. It was clear that something happened. Yet, she didn`t know what. And it was slightly bugging her.

When she used the Time turner she hoped to come back to her home and find everything perfect. Both Thomus and Monica grown up, being respectful Purebloods, maybe even married. She hoped to find herself with Edward. Everything being fine.

She could feel his heart pounding against her own chest. "What happened?" she asked, not being able to keep silent anymore.

Edward kept her close for a few more moments. Just to believe that this was real. Slowly, very slowly he believed it. Believed what she said. That she was back. That she just went here from the past, just to check things out. It felt good to believe it. Better than thinking that he was insane.

Pulling a bit back he almost desperately placed his hands on her cheeks, looking at her. Then brushed a strand of her hair from her face. It felt unreal. Amazing. "I`ve missed you..." he whispered, his voice trembling slightly. He hadn`t felt like that for years. Not even while still being with her. He needed to lose her to remember how much he loved her.

"I`ve missed you so so much." he said once more, looking right at his eyes. A picture of her has already started to fade from his memory. And he didn`t even care about the fact that he was acting like insane. Elisabeth was back.

Elisabeth was actually a bit scared. Edward wasn`t acting like himself. She could feel all the rush of his feelings, and he didn`t even try to hide them away. Didn`t try to kill them as usually.

As he took her face in his hands she watched him back. At his words she became even more confused. "Why...?" she asked. Of course, probably answering that she missed him too would be right, but she had seen him the last night. And he was younger then. And she understood him then.

"Am I..." she murmured, frowning lightly. "Am I not with you anymore?" she asked. How could it be? She`d never leave him. No one else could give him what he gave her.

Edward tensed up at her question. It was strange enough talking with her, knowing that she was there. How he was supposed to let her know what happened? She was betrayed by her ex boyfriend, her son and himself.

He couldn`t tell her. Not only because she wouldn`t take it so well. Also because... he couldn`t risk it. He couldn`t risk that she would go back so soon and change it all. That she would go back and leave him in the past.

Taking a deep breath he pulled one of his hands away from her face. "You..." he whispered. This was insane. "You left." he finished. He couldn`t tell her. Not her, not now.

"Two years ago." his voice broke off at the end. She died two years ago. Now she was back. He wasn`t going to do anything to lose her again. Edward didn`t care about sounding desperate. he was.

She left? That made no sense. Elisabeth knew well enough that she wouldn`t. She had nothing else but him and her children. How could she leave? Where would she go to?

Slowly she shook her head. "I don`t... believe it." she said and frown. Seeing as he took one of his hands off of her face, she took his hand. Now she knew what was wrong and she understood it. All the time, every since her fifth year in Hogwarts she knew that Edward loved her.

And maybe he didn`t show his love that much lately, but... she still knew it. She felt it. Of course, she liked him, but if she needed to really feel in love with him, she`d just take his emotions and make herself believe she felt the same.

"But why?" she asked after a short silence. "Where... where did I go to?" she asked, the same light frown on her face. Where would she go to? A silent hope crept into her heart as she thought about Jonathan.

Edward glanced down as her hand took his. Before her death, they barely even talked. They lived as if it was something what they had to do. But after she was gone, he started missing her. A lot. And at the beginning of their marriage, Elisabeth was different. She didn`t get rid of all of her feelings.

So this actually felt like being back in old days. And as much as it felt strange it felt good as well. He felt younger. He had more feelings in his heart than some time before. And he wasn`t sure what had changed.

"I don`t know." he answered. "I never had the time to ask." Brushing his thumb against her cheek, he couldn`t keep his eyes away form her. It reminded him why he had been in love with her for so long.

He then took a deep breath to answer her next question. "We... we never again talked after you left. I don`t know where you went." he answered. Well, that was almost truth.

Elisabeth listened to him, a frown on her face going bigger. After he stopped speaking she shook her head. "I can`t believe it... I would never leave you." she said. Obviously, something had changed through those years. And she had no idea what it was.

But then, seeing as this was making him uncomfortable she shut up. He must have been hurt really bad because of that. And the last thing she wanted was to hurt him or make him angry. If he was happy, her life was happier.

Keeping her eyes on his face she found her hand raising up and touching his face. Twenty two years and he had changed so much. What did she do to him?

Edward felt how he shuddered as her hand touched his cheek. He was sure that he would never feel that again. That she would never be so close. And through time he managed to forget how amazing she was. Now he realized that it was a sin to try to forget her.

"You don`t know how much I`ve been waiting for this moment." he spoke, enjoying just the mere sight of her. His hand brushed softly against her face, diving into her dark hair.

It was an impulse. And instinct. Two years couldn`t erase that. The next moment he realized he was pulling her close, leaning to her. And then they kissed. It was all unbelievable. And he loved it. Every single second of it.

He didn`t even let her to pull back. No, he wasn`t going to let her go. Not after what happened. Soon he took few steps backwards, feeling how she was walking along with him. Two long years of believing that he would never feel her again. Silently and still kissing they went to their old bed. Both forgetting that neither of them was actually still sleeping there.
