Kevin and Emma's Flat

The first thing Kevin did upon returning to his own house--trying to give Emma space--was let her let him in, put Katie down for a nap, and take a shower. It was a bitterly fast shower, but if he didn't get out of that damn jumpsuit...

"He was going to shoot someone" was too literal. He shook again- trying to focus on the fact that Tiger had forgiven him, threw the suit into the trash-- and dressed in his own clothes that Emma had handed to him "as Kevin's".

What, exactly, was he supposed to do with this? He wanted to hold her, kiss her, somehow explain to her that she wasn't alone- he really was there...and he couldn't figure out how to do it. Looking at her concerned- she looked away. Squeezing her hand, she tensed. He couldn't figure it out.

So with wet hair and dry, oversized clothes, Kevin exited the shower and entered the living room, sitting down on the couch, rubbing his eyes.

Arriving back at her flat, Emma had offered the man – coincidently called Kevin also, just as his daughter was Katie...or maybe not coincidently, she didn’t know – the use of her shower and her family’s clothes. Emma was a mess and clearly this appeared to be just as awkward for her guests. He kept looking at her with concern and she felt the need to look away. His gaze was so familiar. When he reached out to touch her, she had tensed because she so longed for her husband’s touch and again, this felt so familiar also.

Emma just felt so empty and yet so confused. Now that she was home with her guests, everything looked and felt so familiar. Familiar faces. The only difference, the memory forefront in her mind of the bloodied robe and toy she’d found in the maze - still held in her grasp, scared to let them go -and the cry of her daughter. Only... she’d never seen her daughter in the maze. She’d been so sure the moment she saw the blood and heard the cry that they’d been lost. Memories of Simon’s basement, the study at Grissamor Manor... even finding out Matthew was presumed dead, clear in mind. And every time, it had all been a trick. They’d all been alive and well... safe. Was it too much to hope that maybe this time she again was just mistaken? That maybe they were alive and the maze had tricked her? Was it possible? Her parents, this man – Kevin – and his daughter, so familiar, they were so adamant that it was just the maze... a trick. Playing on her worst fear. Were they right?

While he’d been settling down his daughter for a nap, Emma jumped in the shower, dumping her old Auror Trainee robes and the red dress she’d worn the night Matthew left, in a pile on the floor, glad to be rid of them. Of that memory. She let the hot water rush over her, burning away the dirt, grime and memories of the maze as best was possible. The last trickles of blood where the vines had tugged at her skin dragging her through the maze, trailing down the plug. Was she just confused? Had the maze really just hit her where it hurt the most? Her family. Made her believe that they’d been lost? Was that... was it possible that that might actually be her husband sat out there in the living-room? Her daughter asleep in the crib in the nursery? Had she... cracked?

Leaving the shower, Emma ducked into her bedroom, pulling on a comfortable pair of pyjama pants and a baggy t-shirt and made her way into the living-room, sinking slowly onto the opposite end of the sofa, facing her guest warily. Her eyes were still red and puffy. ”Kevin I... I what happened? I’m so confused. I know what I saw, what I heard. I know what I think I believe... but it’s not what I want to believe.” He really did look like her husband, genuinely seemed to appear worried. She wanted to be wrong but was scared to realize how the maze might just have affected her. ”Have I... was I mistaken? Are you... you? Did the maze trick me? Was I stupid enough to fall for it?” Right that moment, Emma really was starting to doubt herself... to worry she’d perhaps had a moment of madness. She just wanted to be held so regardless of if she was mistaken of who the man beside her might be, Emma found herself reaching out a hand to him.

The minute Emma said his name, Kevin looked straight at her and said simply, "You weren't 'too stupid' to fall for anything sweetheart, that maze got into everyone's mind and screwed us allover. Merlin, I...I..."

He cut himself off. There was no need to think about it. Tiger had forgiven him, and letting him self go right now would just help genuinely no-one. He swallowed and tried instead,

“It’s not your fault. We’re all exhausted, and we’ve all been through…well, hell. I am your husband, Em. And I love you whether you believe that right now or not.”

Concern and worry was not the only thing presence in his look and tone—he was also still very much in love with her, and it laced his words sweetly as well. “We’re all going to be okay now, okay? All three of us. You, me, Katie..” He leaned over, slightly upset that she still was looking at him so warily. Taking her hands softly and cautiously, he used his knees to support himself. “My daughter, is your daughter. We’re both okay. We’re…”

There were tears leaking out of the side of his eyes.

“We’re all okay now. It’s all going to be okay.”

He squeezed her hands in comfort, but merlindammit all he wanted to do was take her in his arms and never bloody let go.

Emma sat in silence listening to him talk, listening to his words. The way he called her sweetheart, just as Kevin had, the way he tried to reasure her that she hadn't been stupid to believe what she saw or at fault at all. It had Emma choking up again, but not as much as the reasurrance that he was her husband, that he was very much alive and hadn't been taken by the maze.

It was the tone in his voice that started to really snap Emma out of it... that really started to make her realize that she really had been mistaken. His hands around hers, squeezing them in reasurrance and Emma felt a fresh wave of tear bubbling over as shetruly accepted the fact that she was sat next to her husband, very much alive. Alive and well, not injured, not taken by the maze and that Katie likewise was asleep in the other room.

It was only with a moments pause that Emma was tentatively shuffling along the sofa towards Kevin, robe and stuffed toy still in her gasp, at least for the moment while it all truly sank it. Then once beside him, she silently lifted one of his arms around her, settling down right next to him, burying her face in his shirt. "I'm so..sorry. I... I really thought I'd lost you both this time. I... I can't do that again. I couldn't.. I really couldn't have coped if I'd lost you."

Feeling as though a great weight had been lifted from his chest, Kevin let out a large breath he hadn't realized he was holding. She believed him. She knew he was there. Leaning over now he slid his hands around her neck, into her hair, holding on to her and shaking his head with hers, kissing her cheek.

"Hey, hey. It's all right." He started murmuring it in french, comfortingly as possible, soft and sweet. "We're all okay, Em. We're all okay." Over, and over, and over again- he just kept saying that.

Holding onto her. Eventually breathing a little easier, he shook his head again and said as firmly as before, back in English,

"Everything, is going to be fine now, Em. Do you want to...just, sleep? We're both exhausted."

Once the realization of her mistake began to sink in, Emma found it very difficult to keep the tears from falling. Mortified at her own mistake, at how easily she had been broken by the maze... by those controlling it. She felt shocked at herself for not believing Kevin and Katie of being who they really were... for believing they were dead. And still she had the memory of those moments in the maze when she found the robe and the toy elephant, bloodied... and had heard Katie's cry but could not reach her to soothe her daughter.. The moment she'd been sure they'd been taken and were dead.

To have Kevin's hands drawing her close, hands in her hair, around her neck, the kiss on her cheek, it was all so familar. It was what she needed. His words were a comfort... soothing, just as his words always were when he ever spoke to her in French. Lulling her into a warm sense of security. He was very much alive, from the soudn of his heartbeat, heard through his shirt as Emma pressed her face into the material, to his familar smell.

The suggestion of sleep though, was a welcome one and Emma nodded drawing back a little. "Please... Maybe I'll feel a little better in the morning." Of course, she knew it was likely she'd still be a little wary over the whole incidence the next day - she was pretty shaken up about the whole thing - but she hadn't lost her family. That fact was still sinking in.

It wasn't long before Emma was settled under the covers in their room, curled as close to Kevin as she could get. She'd been adament she look in on Katie before they retired for the night, just wanting to make sure but their little angel was sleeping soundly, completely unaware of what her parents had been through. The moment her head had hit the pillow though, Emma had been out like a light, exhaustion taking over, her dreams somewhat disturbed with thoughts of the last few days, yet she slept on through the night.

Kevin woke up incredibly late, having more than at last 12 hours sleep. Emma was still out, he'd been curled up in bed with her. Although he was reluctant to get up and let her go, he decidedly went and made sure Katie was all right-- fed her as well, unable to believe she was more than a year old. After that, he spent at least a half hour in the kitchen, with cookbooks open around him, and his wand spinning it's way around traditional French toast, orange juice, eggs, bacon, and placing it all on a tray with a rose in a tiny vase. The rose was his own conjuring- the rest was only looking edible because he'd done it with his wand, not his own hands. Still, Kevin was beginning to be a .. competent chef. Picking up Katie and hitching her on her hip, he then bewitched the tray to float in front of them, letting Katie hold on to his wand as well so it looked like she was guiding the tray in.

"Bon matin, amour!" He murmured it, sitting down in the bed with her, gently placing Katie besides them both and leaning over to kiss her cheek. "Katie a fait notre petit dejeuner." Katie made breakfest for us. "...Well she sort of did." He amended in English, a tired grin in place. "She helped."

Lynx is freaking amazing. She translated <3

Emma had never been happier to be in her own bed than she was that night, curled up in her husband's arms, safe, warm. Alhough she had tossed and turned a little with the occassional dark dream, she had slept throughout the night... slept for hours in fact. She couldn't remember the last time she'd slept for so long. Of course, she still remembered the last three days in the maze, her assumptions about Kevin and Katie not surviving but she was sure now at least that they were alive and well. Both of them. Her family were safe.

That though had been enough to send away the dark dreams towards morning, lasting all the way just past noon when Emma could vaguely swear she heard movement about the house, pans... maybe... Sizzling... perhaps and she thought she might have smelt something delicious wafting in. Yet still she'd slept on, now with a smile on her face.

It was a little while later though, at the sound of the bedroom door creaking open softly, accompanied by footsteps and the wonderful smell of cooked food drifting across the threshold. Her nose was already twitching even before she crack open an eye sleepily, to watch her husband and daughter enter the room with a hovering tray before them. She even giggled at the sight of Katie holding Kevin's wand. "There's mommy's clever girl! Are you flating that tray all by yourself?" That earnt her a wide grin with a proud exclamation of 'Ya!' before she was set down on the bed and scrambling up to sit beside Emma. She let out a sleepy yawn, forcing herself to wake up and shuffling up against the pillows sitting up. One hand lifted to ruffle their duahgters dark curls, eternally grateful t have her alive and at her side.

Krvin was soon settled beside them, leaning across and kissing her cheek, and Emma took the opportunity to turn her head a moment later and capture a quick, soft kiss. "Bon matin. mon chere. Thank you..." Emma had caught sight of the contents of the tray they'd brought in - the french toast, eggs, bacon, juice... even the flower and she could feel herself tearing up again, suddenly very emotional again although this time out of happiness. "Really, thank you, my love. You didn't need to do this." The corners of her mouth curled up into a teary smile drawing Katie closer and kissing her forehead. "Were you daddy's assistant chef in the kitchen, this morning? Were you keeping an eye on him so he didn't burn down the ktichen?" Another 'Ya!' accompanied with a cheeky giggle. "I thought so."

Emma reached for her cutlery, mouth watering at the sight and smell of the food laid before them, her stomach letting out a loud growl in anticipation. The previous night in all the excitement, Emma hadn't eaten upon returning. She was starving. "This all looks..." she took a large bit of bacon from her fork. "And tastes abslutely gorgeeous."

Caught off guard by how happy she looked, Kevin had to admit he was feeling...lighter and happier than he had in months. A huge weight had vanished. He didn't know what it was, but he kissed her back enthusiastically when she kissed him, and didn't pull away until she did. He laughed, openly at the assertion and kissed the top of Katie's forehead.

"Hey! I only...almost did that one time..." The kitchen wasn't ... his best place, all right? At the same time, it wasn't the worst place he'd ever been. With a teasing frown, he added,

"Ohhh, yeah, she's gonna be a chef, isn't she?" He grinned down at Katie. "Or whatever else she wants to be, but she's already amazing in the kitchen."

He settled in next to her, with Katie giving a little giggle. Whether or not she knew what her dad was saying exactly, she could clearly tell that they were all happy in that moment. Not moving.. but happy. Content to be there, together, not bothering each other with having to move for the day-- he just reached to ruffle her hair himself, and stole a piece of bacon.

Emma couldn't believe how lucky she was to have her husband and daughter alive, safe and well with her right then. Not that they'd been killed, not safe or injured in the first place. But to know that for definite. Emma wasn't surprised her eyes had spilled over with happy tears. When she'd reached to given Kevin a gentle kiss and it was returned enthusiastically, she let out a squeak, then a giggle, kissing back with just as much enthusiasm.

Katie impatiently was deciding to tap the breakfast tray with her foot. Emma laughed, breaking away to tickle their small daughter, earning them a peel of giggles. "Well, if you're almost burning the kitchen down, what hope do I have?" she raised an eyebrow in amusement, remembering how little she could cook... well that was. "I'm not exactly a master chef myself. I reckon Katie here could even give us a run for our galleons"
She could just imagine their little girl making cakes, causing a mess, getting into a mess herself in the kitchen with the kitchen set she'd got for her first birthday from Lynx, Tyler and James. "So she's going to be an Auror, a Healer a Gymnast and a Chef, all rolled into one? We have quite the talented little moster dont we?" Another 'Ya!' was added to the conversation.

Emma was quite content to shuffle up beside Kevin as he settled back into bed beside her, Katie determinedly squishing herself in between them, the tray balanced across their knees. Emma dug in quite happily, intent of filling her rather empty stomach and really, Kevin and Katie had done well.

Everything was cooked to perfection and was hitting just the right spot. It was really a picture perfect moment and Emma was very aware that as a family, they didn't have enough of those. With work, and Katie being bustled about between Emma's parents and Leslie and Gabe's... in fact she'd recieved and owl only moments before the flier for the maze letting her know that Leslie had gone into labor after the ball and they'd delivered a beautiful and healthy baby girl - Madeline. She was a cousin-auntie and couldn't be happier. All the sudden contentment and happiness almost felt strange and was certainly overwhelming Emma as she ate, trying to keep her silent tear of happiness in check so as not to give the wrong impression. "Don't ever let anyone take you away from me, okay? Either of you. Ever." She was serious, gaze only a touch haunted as it had been the previous night.

"How very Renaissance of her." Kevin teased, laying the French accent on a bit thicker out of habit as he pronounced the word. Obviously, in the renaissance, people could not have just been good at 'one thing' to be considered successful. You could be the best sculptor in the world, and would receive no recognition if you weren't also a painter, a writer, a scientist, an inventor...

It had been unfair, but Kevin was more than sure that Katie was already amazing just being her. Amused, and eating as well, Kevin popped another piece of bacon in his mouth and continued his thought.

"Talented, and gorgeous. Just like her mother."

And he kissed her again, finding that for some reason he was a lot ..hungrier for his wife than he actually was for the food in front of him. Lighter, happier, at peace...

He really was at peace.

Just go with it.

At her words, he wrapped his arm around her shoulder and squeezed as comfortingly as possible. "Love. I'm not going anywhere."

He proceeded to repeat himself in french, and kiss her cheek again, before stealing a third piece of bacon.

Emma wasn't very knowledgable about historical eras, so tried to wrack her brain for any information she might by chance have picked up... somwhere. "Reneissance.... Was that the guys in the ruffs and collars?" She made a mental note to look up the era when she got the chance. Kevin's french accent was fairly distracting, Emma's heart fluttering as it usually tended to do at the sound of it. She watched him eating his way slowly through the pile of bacon slices, face already a little flushed at the more pronounced accent. Blushing deeper with the fact that he had called both her and their daughter, talented and gorgeous.

"Flatterer. In that case then, she has your charm... and appetite?" She nodded towards the quickly disappearing pile of bacon. "Went through two small bowls of mash the other day and half a sausage all by herself. Didn't you sweetie?" That earnt an affirmative from their daughter, quite happy to practice the most recent addition to the small list that was her current vocabulary.

When Kevin kissed her again, Emma kissed him back more than happy to do so, one hand lifting to rest against his cheek, thumb trailing lightly against his skin. She was home. She was happy, with her family and she felt content, more content than she'd felt in a long while.

When Kevin set to reasurring her he wasn't going anywhere, Emma remained silent a moment or two, curcling closer into his side, reaching for a piece of toast and nibbling quietly on it.He sounded so sure, so sincere, she couldn't help but believe him. Surely he couldn't know... couldn't make promises like that given the track record of their luck in the past. "I know. I guess I'm just a little paranoid after the maze. It shook me up more than I really want to admit." Emma bit her lip.

-------------------------------------------------------

~~~~&~~~~
Emma returned back from St Mungo's with Kevin adn Katie in a daze. Pregnant. She was pregnant again. Emma could feel more shocked. She hadn't expected such good news to come from the check-up but then she didn't know what else she expected to hear otherwise. The news had taken her completely unawares, the bemused expression hadn't shifted from her face although the smile it accompanied was bright. Kevin's reaction to the news at the hospital had really made Emma's heart flip. The excitement and surprise in his voice. Even Katie, whether she knew what was going on or not, had clapped her hands grinning.
They were having another baby. Emma only mildly worried over another nine months of morning sickness, a widened wasit band, cravings, swollen feet... but then that was all part of the experience, right?
Entering the flat, Emma kicked off her shoes making her way straight into the living-room and setting Katie on the rug with her blocks and toys, before flopping back onto the sofa with a dazed grin. "Another little D'Abugine..." she breathed aloud, smiling up at Kevin and patting the seat next to her. "Reckon you can cope with me being fat and grouchy for nine months again? Getting up at all hours to meet my food cravings. Rubbing my aching, swollen feet?" She gave him a teasing grin. "What are we going to do about space?" They'd turned the spare room into Katie's nursery as it was.
"Hmm. I don't know..."
As Emma put Katie down, setting her among her toes, he immediately picked Emma herself up and spun around with her in his arms, bridal-style lift. "Are you kidding? For the next nine months, you're queen, okay? Anything you need..." He kissed her, happily, finally setting her down on the couch and collapsing against it himself, breathing a bit heavily. Happy.
"As for space...well. I've been thinking this space is too small as it is, but...why don't, we think about all that...when we get back?"
Popping back up to his feet, he went over to the desk, rummaging in it for a minute before bringing up the tickets. Three of them for access to a legally-sanctioned portkey to a magic-friendly hotel in Atlantis, as well as a brochure, the registration for the hotel, and even what appeared to be access to the Dolphin Cove.
He settled down on the couch again handing them over sheepishly. "I've already filed leave-of-absence, ectera. We're all set. I think a family vacation is just in order for this fantastic news, don't you?"
Her feet swept out undernerneath the her, the room spinning, Emma let out a slight shiek of surprise before giggling, her arms encircled around her husband's neck holding on tight. Ha! Let im try that in another six months. The thought in itself only made her giggle more. "Queen Emma..." the words were muffled against Kevin's lips as he kissed her, the possibilities behind that title endless. "You know I can be quite demandind..." she warned, trying to hide her grin. Emma snuggled back into the cushions of the sofa, one hand instictively lifting to rest across her now still flattish stomach. "Need or want?" An impish grin lifted across her lips.
The flat in her opinion was just right for the three of them as it was. They had their living-room/diningroom, the kitchen, bathroom, master bedroom and Katie's room. But add to that another little person and space was perhaps a little limited. There was also the fact that they didn't have a garden at the flat and Katie was already starting to toddle about on her feet. The prospect of perhaps moving was indeed an interesting possibility.
"When we get back?" Emma's eyebrows furrowed at the words, curious. Following Kevin's movement with her gaze, Emma was somewhat curious as to what he was fishing out of the desk. There was certainly something in his grasp, looking like documents or a booklet or something or things slim and rectangular. Emma curiosity only grew as they were handed over to her a sheepish expression on her husbands face. "What...?" Emma's eyes lowered to take in what she'd been handed, leafing through the brocure, and reding the tickets and and registration, her eyes instantly widening. "At...Atlantis?!" A broad grin was very quickly spreading across her face, her eys lit up. Leave of absence.. Kevin had thought of everything!
Emma found that words escaped her for the moment, clambering into Kev's lap with an excited squeal and throwing her arms around his neck. Kissing him fervently. "It's perfect! I... I don't know what to say... Atlantis...." The brocure looked amazing. "When do we leave?" Well of course the information was probably on the tickets but in her excitement, Emma had neglected to check.
"Tomorrow morning." Kevin said, a bit relieved that she was excited, and mostly overjoyed. "We-"
He was cut off by her lips, kissing her fervently back and then laughing as he cut off looking at Katie, who was blinking up at them. Laughing. She was laughing too. Overjoyed again, he disentangled himself from Emma to crouch down and wave happily to Katie, tickling her cheek.
"What do you think? Family vacation? Do you want to meet a dolphin?"
Well, they did have the most amazingly talented daughter, now didn't they? Katie laughed in response, her eyes round and her mouth opened wide.
"What can you say? Ohh, the possibilities.." He pretended to think on that for a moment, snaking his arm around her waist and kissing her again. Then he murmured, "Or you could just show me your appreciation..."
Of course they probably should pack...at some point.
Emma only vaguely heard the day of their leaving as she kissed her husband, expressing only a little of her excitement as far as she was concerned. When he broke away after a moment or two, laughing, Emma blinked, a little confused but then joined in the laughter at the sight of Katie laughing at their antics. Perhaps keeping things to a strictly PG rating until she was in bed might have been the best option.
Shuffling to the edge of the sofa as Kevin crouched down with their daughter, Emma couldn't help the sappy grin. She was glad she'd married Kevin. Couldn't have seen herself marrying anyone else now, or having kids with anyone other than him. He was a wonderful father. Katie adored him and he clearly was besotted with her and now they had another one on the way to wrap her husband roudn their little finger. Katie clearly was thrilled with the idea of a holiday and meeting a dolphin and Emma made a mental note to pack a camera to document the meeting. Now that Katie was older, they would be able to do more with her.
The possibilities of what she could say to express her excitement and appreciation were endless, and Emma's thoughts on possible things to say were quite pleasantlydistracted by her husbands lips back on hers and his arm round her waist. (Something else that would only be possible another few months). Show him her appreciation. Emma felt a shiver of pleasure fun up her spine at his murmured suggestion drawing closer. "Hmmm now that sounds like a much better idea. Although if we want to surpass a PG rating or even a Fifteen, I'd suggest this little monkey take her afternoon nap and of course packing can be sorted later..." She snaked her arms around Kev's neck, rolling on tip-toes, kissing him sweetly. "In order to show my full appreciation that is...."
The borrowed owl had at least followed instructions well enough to deliver the four needed potions, which there wasn't very much at all in all of them, in a bag that could hold it during the trip. Attached though was a short and straightforward note.
I know it doesn't look like much but it doesn't take much. Just take these the next four days, today counting as one of the days obviously, and you should feel better. It works for most people.
Emma had been settling Katie down for her after lunch nap, when the owl arrived. She was pleasntly surprised to see it, knowing the instant she withdrew the four vials, what it was. She hadn't expected to recieve the potions quite so soon but was glad Ali had sent them. Leaving the coffee shop the previous day, she'd felt terrible the moment she stood up, a small dizzy spell, a moment of weakness and had almost opted to sit back down and a glass of water. But it had soon past and instead of continuing her mooch of the shops, Emma had opted to head home.
Returning to the living-room to sit back and put her feet up, Emma was in time to see the unfamiliar owl swoop though the window. Four vials, one a day for four days. Didn't sound too bad. As long as it worked. She was already ready for her morning sickness and dizzy spells to get worse before they got better but four days from now and she should feel right as rain.
Pulling the top off the first vial, she drank down the potion, cringing at the taste. Why didn't these things never taste appealing? Emma wondered how soon before the potions took affect headed into the kitchen to put the remaining potions into the potions cabinet, safe and sound. She was just closing the cupboard door when she felt her head spin, grabbing on the edge of the work top for support until her head settled. Ugh. Definitely worse before it got better. The moment her head settled, Emma opted to put her feet up in bed, instead of on the sofa in the living-room. Maybe the potion would settle in an hour or so.
Returning to the flat, Emma was certainly pale and shaken but she was sure that Kevin looked worse. He was covered in the cuts, bleeding, his robes tattered... and then there'd been the Crucio he'd had to indure... To see him in such agaony, to hear him crying out in pain, it had scared her but there was little she'd been able to do other than hold his hand and that had earnt her a couple of cracked bones. Still, she had gripped on without complaint, afraid to let go. They were alive, he was hurt and she was drained.
Emma's mum left when they arrived, leaving Katie in her crib and still holding onto Kevin's hand, Emma turned to gingerly inspect his wounds, her expression grave. "You need those cuts cleaning." She nodded to his bleeding lip among other cuts. "Go get changed and I'll get the Murtlap Essence and see to those." She'd be able to soak her hand as well. Emma was just glad that the silencing spell had worn off.
She set about in silence, pulling the Murtalp Essence from the potions cabinet, grabbed a cloth and filled a large bowl of warm water. "Kevin... are you all right?"
Kevin had to admit, there was something rather nice about watching her take care of him, despite how badly he wanted to be taking care of her. He just nodded as she went to get the Murtlap and clothes, and then scooted into their bathroom, ripping his already-torn shirt off him and just letting it fall to the floor. It was ruined anyway. He turned on the tub, sitting on the edge of it when she returned and tugged at her to sit next to him.
He was tired, sore, and his mind was still reeling with the last look Tiger had given him. He was in shock. His eyes were wide, and his muscles screamed for even the littlest motions...but he was okay. So he turned to her and without a word, cupped her cheek and kissed her and then pulled back to look himself over in the mirror.
Bloody-hell. Just how much was he bleeding? The beaks had torn his skin apart. The mirror made it look..really, really painful. He wasn't, however....maybe they were the type of flesh wounds that looked worse than they were.
"I'm fine now." He said softly, guiding her hand to the warm cloth and shutting the now-filled warm tub off. "At least...nothing we can't fix, right?" He took a breath and then looked at her a little more in concern,
"Are you okay?"
for those days we've felt like a mistake; for those times when loves what you hate
somehow; we keep marching on // there's so many wars we fight, there's so many thing's were not...
but with what we have; I promise you that we're marching on {there's not a flag that I'd wave...}
