Kevin retreated silently, and began unpacking his stuff, his minds eye full of Emma.It was odd, seeing as he'd only just met her, but facts were facts. He was interested in getting to know her, and he spent the night unpacking before taking his potions and going to sleep.

Kevin had a slight smile on his face as he left Emma's room, and retreated to his own, staying up to read up France's reports. He might have left David in charge, but he wasn't going to leave them alone.

Kevin sat at this desk, drumming his fingers against it, knowing that he was stuck until Emma came to visit him, and began looking over the plans he had, but found that he couldn't concentrate as his head was full of Emma.

Juls walked in a few steps through the Order Headquarters, and slid into the first room that was open and didn't look to be occupied. She sat down her bag, and let her puppy out, and closed the door, locking it behind her. She was running on autopilot, her face still shocked, tear-tracks staining her cheeks, her hands still fumbling as she pulled off her jacket and climbed into bed, fully clothed.

She was shivering, even though she had the sheets and blankets pulled all the way up to her neck, and a warm wiggling body curling at her feet. And once settle, Juls allowed herself to cry. Allowed herself to truly lose control and cry. Cry about what he'd done to her. Cry about the lives endangered, lost, and returned. Cry about the loss of a home, and the loss of trust. The loss of mental stability, and for her sister's listlessness. Cry about how everything in the world was just going wrong all at the same time, and the feeling of helplessness that accompanied it.

She cried herself to sleep.

Several owls appeared at the window pecking. Three owls carried a dozen roses each and were protected by spell from the cold. Two more owls were carrying a teddybear in between them and a large owl was carrying a rather heavy box of chocolates with a letter attached.

Juls,

I am so sorry for what I did to you, and I can't apologize enough. I don't blame you if you never want to see me again. I don't know what happened to make you think that I would hurt you. I am a Healer, I don't want to hurt anyone. I am sorry, I am sorry, I am sorry, I can't say it enough. Sorry, and again, I don't blame you if you never want to talk to me or see me again.

Juls had woken up the next morning with her eyes pretty swollen, and her mouth impossibly dry. Basically, she woke, she took in the light coming from the window, and the sleeping puppy that somehow ended up on her pillow instead of back by her toes, and just squeezed her eyes shut again, trying to force herself to go back to sleep.

Sleep was the easiest way to pass time by, and being unconscious meant that, when you weren't dreaming, it was sweet, sweet oblivion. Still, as soon as she shifted, the puppy was up, and who didn't like waking up to fur in your face?

Fantastic. So Juls was forced to get up, to feed Copper and let him go outside, but as soon as that was taken care of, she was back in bed. Ignoring life, and reality, one could say. She hadn't seen anyone, and for that she was grateful. She didn't want to. She didn't want to stand there and pretend she was okay and be all cooperative and not put a cloud on anyone's day. Because, she had to. She couldn't stand pity, and that was all anyone ever gave when someone was having trouble handling something. She didn't want to hinder anyone by taking up their time, and basically, if she acted fine, people felt better because then they didn't have to feel like they had to try and help her, or cheer her up.

And for right then? She didn't feel like acting. She was tired of acting. And clearly, certain things she couldn't just act through. So locking herself up in the room she called her own until she was able to come home just seemed like the best idea. Bed, covers, that sounded like a good idea.

She was hiding. And she knew it. But she couldn't find a problem with it right that moment.

Needless to say, she was a little startled when six various owls ended up pecking her window. She sat up from where she was most comfortably snuggled in, and stared at the owls, only reluctantly opening it a little bit so they could go. Copper was getting too excited about birds at the window.

The things were plopped onto her bed and the owls flew out, Juls shivering slightly as she closed the window back, and turned around to see what exactly she'd just been given.

A little shocking, to say the least. A whole lot of roses, a huge teddy Copper was having a little too much fun jumping around on, and...chocolate? If Juls hadn't felt absolutely sick at the idea of eating anything, period, she'd be quite intrigued. As it was, she did, so she put the chocolates on top of the dresser so her puppy couldn't get into them, and she would have had them in glasses with water, except for...she had no magic, right then. Her wand was who-knows-where. So she settled with arranging them sticking out of a drawer, and crawled back into bed, the puppy and the bear now on the ground, and read the letter.

Funny, it seemed like it was her walking in with the apologies just strewn all over the place just a day ago, and now he was writing it. Not really wanting to think about it, think about what happened, Juls simply scrawled a "I don't hate you." on the bottom edge and sent it back out with an owl that stayed by the window. She used an extra quill she'd found on the nightstand, and that done, she went back to her solitude.

Llian had decided to go to the Order Headquarters to check on Juls. It had been a few days, and he wanted to make sure no one had found her. He had barely talked to Julie at all since their last disastrous conversation, and she was out somewhere, so his mother was babysitting Claire while he went.

He had no idea which room Juls was staying at, so he had to guess. He didn't find her in any of the first floor rooms, but moving onto the second room, he saw a door that had been left slightly ajar and inside was Juls.

He knocked once lightly, calling, "Juls, it's Llian. Can I come in?"

The second Llian knocked on the door, Juls startled (she'd been sitting in the window, Copper on her lap), and the puppy jumped off, skidding across the hardwood, yipping. He was adorable, and his loyalty and protection was definitely appreciated but...

How in the world could you be scared of a dog that small and with such big ears and paws? He was cute, and that was...about it. Intimidating? Oh nooo.

"Copper..." She scolded lightly, speaking up to answer with a simple, "Mhm."

Juls had felt suffocated in the room after a while, but she was just too...too...scared? She didn't want to go outside. She didn't want to wander around the Order Headquarters and really, she was being completely antisocial. But locking herself up in a small room was not helping her at all, so she ended up opening the door for circulation, forcing the room's one window open, and climbing up to sit on the window ledge. Not really comfortable, but she felt safe in her room, and yet, she was still outside, still feeling the cold, and the biting wind, still seeing the clouds and leaves and lake. So, for the time being, it worked.

Llian pushed the door open, finding Juls sitting on the window ledge. He wondered if she had done much over the past few days, but he had a feeling she hadn't gone outside of Headquarters. It sickened him that one man could make her feel that way, that one man would want to make her feel that way. People like Jimmy, people like Damien... they didn't deserve basic human rights. Not when they attempted to take away those of others.

Before he could address Juls, he was confronted with her puppy, valiantly attacking the leg of his pants in an attempt to rid the room of its "intruder". Laughing, Llian bent down and scooped up the puppy, who squirmed for a couple of minutes, probably disliking being so high off the ground.

"Hey there, buddy," he greeted the dog. "Protecting Juls, are we? Well, what if I promise not to bite if you do?" He took the subsequent attempts to lick his hands and face as a 'yes' and put the puppy down.

"Hi, Juls," he finally greeted the woman in the room. "I just wanted to come by to see how you were doing, if you needed anything." He paused.

"How are you doing?"

Juls climbed down off the window, opting to sit on her bed. It was just as well, because she was starting get cold, and now she wasn't directly in the wind. She had to smile though, and then to apologize for the little teeth marks that'd be on his pants.

She didn't bother though, because he didn't seem to mind, and she rested her chin on the one bent knee, arms loosely around it.

"He's a good one." She told Llian, and then responded, "Hi."

Juls realized that she didn't mind the company as much as she thought she would. Of course, it could be a little different because he knew, and seemed to understand, but either way, she'd specifically not done anything or gone anywhere that would include being around people. Just, people in general.

"I'm...ducky." She'd be lying if she said she was okay, because...she wasn't. She wasn't okay, but she realized it, and she was just waiting for the storm to blow over. It took time, and this was worse than the last.

Her smile grew a little wry, and then she asked, "You?"

How was he? That was a pretty interesting question. Well, he'd had a fight with his girlfriend after he cheated on her, she kissed his cousin, and they slept together. Then he'd proceeded to be a complete dick to his ex-girlfriend and wound up getting punched for it (which he completely deserved), and now he was at a complete loss of what to do. So what did he decide to do?

Go see the woman he slept with of course. Just to see how she's doing after what she went through, he told himself.

"Well... I've been... having an interesting week," he confessed.

"But I figured you might want some company or something." He shrugged. "Have you been finding Headquarters ok to stay at?" he asked, trying to make conversation.

"Oh, if you would rather be alone, just let me know."

Juls tilted her head when he said he had an interesting week, and she paused for a moment before offering, "You need to rant? Merlin knows you know my entire..."

She rolled her eyes, "Life story."

So obviously, since she'd shared all that, perhaps not unnecessarily, but she still did it, maybe she could return the favour. It wasn't like telling him hadn't helped. It did. And they way it happened, no matter how scared she'd been of it, was much, much better than the hours it would have taken to explain, the tears, the difficulty...

Not to say it wasn't hard. Rewatching things, especially things she thought she had been over for years, it was definitely hard. Anyways...

As for company, she just patted the bed next to her, "I don't mind it."

At a lame attempt of a joke, she said, "I was beginning to forget what humans looked like..."

But when he asked her whether or not she liked staying at the Headquarters, she just stared at him in slight disbelief. Really? Because...she wasn't uprooted from her home, she wasn't hiding out, she couldn't smell him...

Okay, that was weird. But she could, the full moon was in eleven days, and she could smell him. She'd gotten through no moon (it was seriously the worst day of the month, in her opinion, she always felt utterly sick), and now she was starting to feel the growing moon. And she could smell Jimmy.

"It looks pretty much the same, minus a few burns and new furniture, that it did when I worked here..." She finally answered, "But this room does it's job."

AKA, she'd not ventured out of the room other than for necessary meals maybe once or twice a day, to let out Copper, and hygiene. That was all.

Llian shook his head. "Thanks, but no. It's not really that I need to rant," he explained. "I just need to stop making stupid decisions. Like fighting with my girlfriend or being awful enough to my ex-girlfriend that she felt the need to punch me." He sighed. "I most definitely deserved it, though. That was completely my fault."

Nevertheless, he took the seat she offered him on the bed next to her. "So yeah: the week hasn't been the best of my life, but it's in the past." He gave her a smile - it was extremely hard for someone like Llian to stay pessimistic for long. He hated the past, he just wanted to focus on what was right in front of him. He was an optimist down to the last fiber of his being.

"There's always tomorrow, right?"

He knew he shouldn't have asked about Headquarters, though, and the look clearly proved that. Of course she didn't like staying there, but he couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at the implication that she had hardly left the room.

"Well, it's a good thing I showed up then," he remarked, trying to keep the tone light. He knew she was probably scared to leave or just didn't want to face the world, but Merlin knew everyone needed to get out and have a change of scenery every once in awhile.

The very thought of staying in the same room for more than a couple of hours made him nervous. A couple of days? He would go absolutely insane. At least she had the window open, though.

"I think it's time for a change of scenery," he declared. "It's not healthy to stay cooped up in one room for too long." He actually shuddered at the thought.

He stood up and offered her his hand. "What do you say - want to come with me? You'd have a lot of fuuunnn," he said, in an attempt to make the idea sound more appealing. But really - what wasn't already appealing about that? They had clearly proved they could have fun together.

And it was better than each of them staying holed up and alone with their thoughts. Spending so much time looking back on what had happened or obsessing over what was going to happen just couldn't be healthy in any remote sense of the world.

Juls arched her eyebrow at him. "She punched you?"

Sheesh. Emotions must have run really high, and he must have been a right bastard. But it seemed to her that yes, he didn't have the greatest week. She gave a little amused laugh when he sat down - but then literally stood up a few moments later.

"Tomorrow." Juls mused, "You know, I almost expected you to break out in song right there. You know, tomorrow, tomorrow, I love you, tomorrow, it's always a day awayyyy. Lovely."

But when he stood and said that she needed a change of scenery, insinuating that locking herself in the room wasn't a great idea, she glanced at his hand and asked, "Come with you where, exactly?"

Still, she was already taking his hand and standing up before he answered. His attitude about things uplifted her own heavy one somewhat, and it had been a month. She'd been counting. It'd been a month, she'd been locked away for a month, and she was going to give herself pneumonia if she continued to get rid of the locked-in-feeling by sitting on a thin windowsill enjoying the 30 degree weather. She didn't get sick easily, but she still could get sick. He was being very spur of the moment, she was positive he didn't come there to give her a reprieve from her voluntary solitude, and maybe that's why she didn't wait for an actual answer. Because she had a feeling there wasn't a plan in place, not yet.

Llian laughed when she started singing. "Well, as amazing a singer as you know I am, spontaneously breaking out into song is just not my style. Sorry to disappoint," he replied.

"Spontaneously deciding to go somewhere to start having a bit of fun in life? That is my style." He was glad she took his hand and agreed to with him, but he had to admit, "As for where? I have absolutely no idea."

He hadn't had a specific place in mind when he thought the idea up. He just thought it sounded fun. "Wherever you want to go," he stated. "We've... quite literally... got the world at our fingertips. So, anywhere really. We could... go apparate to some famous world landmark, go shopping in Diagon Alley, explore Muggle London, maybe see what's going on in New York City..."

He was literally up for anything she wanted to do.

Juls sighed, allowing herself to joke back, "Not even for me? I mean, I am your karaoke buddy..."

Suddenly she wondered if, by bringing that up earlier, she'd caused the start of his argument with his girlfriend. She didn't speak the thought though, because clearly he wanted to be living in the present, and as he said, that was the past.

Spontaneously deciding to go somewhere for fun. Juls stood up and realized she was second guessing herself. With a new resolve, she nodded and answered, "Anywhere, we could go anywhere."

They could go anywhere, couldn't they? Such was the amazingness of being able to apparate.

"Shopping in Diagon Alley?" She brought that one up because, whereas the rest seemed intriguing (she'd never been to New York), the idea of shopping with him was amusing. Guys didn't tend to like shopping, but she never presumed Llian was like most men. Shopping could be fun, and merlin knew she did need a few things. It tended to be difficult when your stuff is in a room where a potentially dangerous man was. Basically. She'd bought herself a few pairs of jeans and simple tshirts, and necessities, through a magical magazine. That was all. She just cycled through them.

"That would be considered fun for you?" Juls had to grin slightly, but then again, there were all kinds of shopping. Clothes shopping, book shopping, broom shopping, etc.

Llian shook his head. "Well...maybe later. Maybe." Yeah, maybe if they got really drunk and decided to go do karaoke again. Otherwise, he wasn't really one to walk around singing for no reason. He sang to Claire, he'd sing in front of people, and there had been that one short-lived time he was in a band. Other than that? He normally refrained from doing so.

He laughed at her reluctance to believe that he wanted to go shopping. No, Llian didn't absolutely love shopping, but he liked it well enough. There was nothing wrong with that.[ "What, you don't believe I could like shopping?" he asked, laughing. "I happen to think it would be fun," he declared.

"Besides, there are all sorts of shops there. It's interesting to see different things, maybe buy a few things, try on some clothes..." He threw the last one in there as a joke, mainly because they were discussing the stereotype that men hated shopping.

Juls smiled, knowing that 'maybe' meant...no. It usually meant no, anyways, and she definitely didn't plan on going out and getting drunk. She'd just get herself in trouble again. She didn't really have the greatest common sense while under the influence. She just went on instinct.

His laughter made her smile grow sheepish, and she shrugged a shoulder, "I don't know. I mean, I hardly think I would go in and ask you if my butt looked fat in these jeans or which pair of lingerie was sexier..."

She just named off some random things, but when he joked about it, Juls just arched her eyebrow, laughed, and said, "Fine. Let's go shopping."

It'd be fun, if not just in the way she was amused about shopping. She never was a big shopper, she got what she needed, and anything else she got that was a splurge was given to her by Lena or Em. She figured it'd be interesting at the very least.

"You wouldn't ask my opinion?" Llian asked, pretending to be hurt by the statement. "I'd ask you about either of those things." Not that Llian often tried on lingerie, but he was only joking, of course.

"And I happen to think I'm a very good opinion-giver." Well, no. Actually? He was the most indecisive person he knew.

"So yes. Let's go shopping," he said with a smile.

He realized he was still holding her hand from when she had stood up, which could have been awkward, but they hadn't exactly chosen to make it awkward. It didn't have to be, after all. "Ok, then. Apparate us where we need to go."

Juls just laughed, "Well fine. You can give your opinions on sexy lingerie...and I'll give you mine. I'm thinking red and lacy?"

Naturally she was just joking, but when he said apparate them to wherever, as a joke, she figured she might as well just continue the teasing. Funny she actually knew where it was, if only because she'd been passing it by a few times while wandering Diagon.

And so she apparated them there.
