At Stephanie's name, a loud growl emitted from her throat, but was muffled as she kept her mouth closed. She knew it then. It had to do with that older lady. The growling lasted longer than she ever thought, even so that she had to turn towards the lake to calm down.

"What did she do?" Alison snarled out softly. Her eyes stabbed out at the lake. It was hard to keep calm. It was happening again. Why did it have to happen again? First Conner, now Joshua. It seemed like everytime she found someone that she liked, another women came into the picture.

Joshua heard her growling. If she got angry because of Steph`s name, what would she do if she heard the whole story? He tried his best not to think. At least is she knew he wouldn`t feel guilty. And she had the right to knew. He owed her that much. He just couldn`t help but think that this was the end. And he hated it to be like that.

At her question he only shook his head once again and stared somewhere behind her shoulder. He couldn`t even look at her face. "We did... we..." he only murmured, hoping that she would understand. There was no other way he could say it.

Alison clenched her teeth together to muffle her growls even more as well as grabbing hold of the porch railing. She was trying to calm down as best she could. Though she must admit that it was a good thing that the full moon hadn't been that night.

It took a while for her to interpret what Joshua meant. As soon as it hit her mind, the porch had tiny indents in it where her hands were. "You two did it," she repeated in an icy voice.

Ali let go of the railing, becoming completely still. No more growling, no more frustration. She was in shock at what she had just heard. It was all too familiar to her, and she just wasn't going to show emotion.

Joshua clenched his teeth. He didn`t know what else to say. She got it. But her reaction was worse than he hoped. He was waiting for yelling, hitting, shouting, any of that stuff. Instead she became very still and he watched her, hoping for any of that matter to show up.

"Alison...?" he asked, struggling. He wanted to move to her, but he knew it wouldn`t be appropriate. Quite honestly he didn`t know what to do. He had never did anything like that, in all of his matter. He wasn`t sure if maybe he should just leave.

Few more moments passed. "Say something?" he asked, taking one more step back. He didn`t want her to suffer.

Ali was struggling to not go find Stephanie and rip every vein from her throat. It was easier to just be completely still. It was happening again, yet this time there wasn't that different/same type of creature background that had made it more intense. Instead, this relationship fight had a background that lasted long for one side.

She turned around to face him, keeping her eyes closed as she thought calming thoughts. Also, to not try and read Joshua's thoughts. "Did it mean anything to you? Who started it? And why?" she questioned in a harsh yet calm voice.

Joshua waited impatiently for her to say anything. He really hoped that she would scream at him - that would make him pay, at least in some way. If she did any of that matter it would just make him feel better. But she only questioned him and that was worse. He couldn`t lie to her.

Did it mean anything to him? Damn it, how was he supposed to answer that? "I... I don`t know, Alison. She was my wife. I loved her for too long." he mumbled out, frowning. Maybe he should learn how to lie. It would be just much easier.

He breathed in. "I came... because I realized that I couldn`t actually lie... not because I thought that we could even go over this..." he didn`t look at her. He couldn`t. He hated the words he said, but they only sounded right. How would anyone want to be with him after this?

Alison growled softly as she lifted her self onto the raling to keep from doing anything she would regret. It wasn't probably smart of her since last time, but could she really care? No, not really. He just avoided all her questions.

"Josh... can you answer my questions? At least two of them," Ali whimpered between clenched teeth. She needed to know what happened. If it was Stephanie, it would be okay. But if Joshua had initiated it, then she didn't know how that would affect their relationship.

Joshua stood there, still clenching his teeth. He wasn`t sure how to answer her. Did it mean anything to him? He wondered himself, but he just didn`t want to accept the answer. So, he chose to ignore it as well as his thoughts. he could see her anger, and there was nothing he could do.

"She kissed me." he only murmured. What else could he say?

She tightened every muscle of her body as he said those three words. Her muscles were like locked in gears. If not, she would have been gone searching for Stephanie. Her growls that were being emitted were louder than she wanted. The werewolf part of her was becoming more domiant then her sane side.

"Not again..." she whispered as her thoughts traveled to when she was going to marry Conner. That had hurt her for months when she gave up. This time, it would be harder for her to handle. "Stupid me..."

Alison didn't want this to happen. She was so positive that with Joshua, everything would be different. No drama except for when it came to saving innocent people or fighting deatheaters.

Joshua noticed that she began growling - probably if you`re a werewolf it`s not just that easy. He couldn`t know. But he noticed her anger as well. And he still didn`t know what to do. Most of all he wanted to hug her and tell her that everything would be just fine. But even he wasn`t so thick. It couldn`t be just fine.

"Alison... it`s not you... you know that." he managed to say. That line was so cheesy but it fit. It wasn`t her. No, she was amazing, funny, beautiful and perfect. He hated every single cell in his body for doing that to her.

Most of him wanted to know why did he do so and what was he going to do. But he didn`t know. All he knew was that it wasn`t worth it and that he couldn`t watch Alison suffering. "Please... don`t... don`t feel anything bad because of this." he asked, knowing how stupid it sounded. But he really wished that she just wouldn`t mind. He hated to be the reason of her anger.

Alison lifted her head quickly to look at Joshua. She couldn't help the glare as she kept imagining Stephanie standing behind Josh smirking. Why did it have to happen? Somehow she thought that it would be better if she did just give up.

"Then why does this always happen to me?" she asked in a high pitch whine. It hurt to remember what had happened before and then have it happen again. "I seem to have bad luck in the male department. First Conner, now you? Yeah not so lucky when it comes to keeping hold."

Her grip loosened on the railing. Not enough to lose balance, just enough to stop creating sawdust.

Joshua winced at her words. What could he say? That if it was up to him Stephanie would have never came back? That he wished not to be so damn weak when it came to her? Because Alison was really perfect and he liked her a lot, as it seemed that moment he liked her more than Steph, but after this... he doubted she could even think of him as of anything else but a jerk.

"Look, it`s not you. Just the men you choose are total assholes." he spoke seriously. At least he was. "If I could do anything I would turn back time and I would have never met you. Because I really don`t want to hurt you." he took a step towards, not even knowing why.

"And if anything I wish that it would have been you last night with me. And I hate myself for doing so. I just really hope that you won`t feel bad because of this." he rambled.

"No they are sweet. Just its the other women that come near by," she responded. Alison looked at Joshua for a second, only to see him closer. It took her a second to process everything. It hurt to, but she had to because it could help.

Alison sighed as she remembered how they met. "I wouldn't want for us to never have met. Maybe in a different way instead of me literally falling," she told him. Alison knew what he had to tell her. "Just tell me what it meant to you? It will make me feel better knowing."

Joshua didn`t answer to her first comments. Mostly because he wasn`t sure what to say. Deny her words? That would be useless. But that was exactly what he was feeling. He was an asshole and if they have never met, it wouldn`t have come to this. He wouldn`t have hurt her by being such an idiot.

But then he turned his eyes away from her once more. "It meant..." he murmured, broke off and tried to say it again. "It meant a lot to me..." he confessed, still not looking at her, knowing that he wouldn`t be able to take the expression on her face. "It felt like I was living my old life again..." he kept on talking, even if he knew that it was time to shut up. "Deep inside I know that she is still my wife. Somewhere really deep I still love her..."

His words were true and he knew so. But it wasn`t everything he was feeling. There were some much more important things on his mind. That was when he looked at her, obvious despair and defeat on his face. "But none of that meant half as much as you mean to me." he admitted and his words never sounded more sincere to him. His voice broke off at the end and he felt horrible for being such an ass to her.

Alison bit down on her lip. However, that didn't stop the whimper from escaping her mouth. She should have known that he would always harbor feelings for his old wife. Just she thought that those feelings would be hidden by all the pain that Stephanie had gave him.

Before he had said the last sentence about his feelings for her, she lost all muscle control. Like the first time they met, she fell. Just it was more painful to her this time. A crack signaled that she landed on the ground. Luckily, it was her wrist that had already been broken the last time.

She couldn't even cry out in pain. It wasn't that there was no pain, there was alot of pain. She just didn't want to show that she was hurt. Carefully she pulled herself into a sitting position. "Then why do you feel so bad? If I mean more, then you should have said that first," she told him.

Joshua noticed how she fell. This time there was no struggle. Inappropriate or not, he wasn`t going to let her be hurt. Not because of something what he did, and not because what he did affected her. He wouldn`t allow it. Not to her.

Before he could notice it, he was kneeling in front of her, softly taking her in his arms so that she wouldn`t get hurt again. He wasn`t sure how holding her would help, it was much more of an instinct, the strange feeling that if he was around she wouldn`t be hurting. But it was actually the exact opposite of it. She was hurt because of him being around. Yet, he didn`t find the strenght in him to pull back.

Instead, he just stayed there, his hands protectively wrapped around her, even if the was no real need. "I feel bad because I let it happen. Because I never wanted to hurt you and I did. Because I`m guilty for all of this and I can`t fix it." he murmured in her hair, closing his eyes. He was being selfish again, but it felt incredible to have her close. Has Stephanie really made him forget how it felt being close to Ali?!

"I didn`t say it first and I should have stayed silent about it." he added after a short pause. "Because I know that you should stay away from me. I don`t want to hurt you once more. I promised to myself to protect you, but... you`re hurt again..." he frowned, realized what he was doing and pulled back, although his arms were still around her. "Hate me for doing this to you and tell me to go away. Please."

Alison snuggled into his arms as she craddled her own hand. She was glad that he had tried to help. If only he would stop trying to push her away. Did he realize that him leaving her just made everything worse? It would mean hurting her heart and letting Lone get closer to her.

"People get hurt, physical or emotional. Sometimes the one you love hurts the most, but it helps to just remember that they make everything better," she responded back to him. Ali was going to be selfish again, just like she had been in her room.

"But if you aren't with me, you hurt me more. You had been my best friend and then my one of the best boyfriends. And if you leave, Lone will come for me," she told him in a pleading voice. "So no I'm not going to tell you to go away. It's selfish and all, but I don't know if I can handle you not being here with me."

Joshua wasn`t sure how to answer her. Actually a big part of him was happy to hear such an answer. He knew that if she told him to go away he would. But it would have been very hard. Still, for her, he would have left. Now as she asked him to stay... he wasn`t sure what was he feeling.

The truth was that Stephanie was still there, still sleeping in their bed. He saw her before he left. That image was now stuck in his head, haunting him. Could he ever get over it? Besides, she wasn`t leaving. Who said that he wouldn`t slip again? That he wouldn`t do it all over again?

"If I were you I`d hate me." he said seriously. "I`d run and never turn around, no matter what would be waiting for me. "he tried not to think about his words. But they were completely true. "Think about this. Think of what I said about her..." he asked her, ignoring the pain that those words brought, "And if you can`t live with that, don`t even try to. Please." he asked her again.

Ali sighed as he tried to keep pushing her away. She wasn't going to leave him because she knew that he would not be happy about it either. They would both be in a butt load of pain. So far, she could only see the long term effects. It wasn't going to be pretty for her if she gave in.

"But I'm not you and you aren't me. So this is me being super selfish. I'm not going to give up this time," Alison told him. It didn't matter to her that his actions had been painful. He still cared and she knew that it was that conieving nasty of an ex-wife that had started it.

"I still have feelings for Conner though, and I know if he came back for me that maybe I would try to rekindle my feelings for him because he was my first love. Its just like you and Stephanie. But don't ever think I would forget you, I would still want you to always fight," she knew that she would do that if Conner came back. He had been her first and cut her heart with a deep scar.

Joshua tried really hard to ignore the Conner comment. Even if it wouldn`t happen, the mere thought of it made him want to growl. He would probably go crazy if she did something like that to him. And no, he couldn`t even agree with her - if she did so, he`d leave. He just couldn`t touch her again and not think about her and him. That was why it was so hard to understand her.

He still was trying not to think about it as he pulled out his wand. He didn`t even want to talk about that subject. "Give me your hand." he only asked, trying to keep his voice soft, but there was still a hint of coldness. He just... couldn`t get his mind around it.

"When we started... spending time together I realized that I should learn some proper healing spells. So I did." he explained shortly, pulling back from her and stretching out his hand to take her hurt one.
