Cat kept the expression of surprise on her face. "Oh! You're her husband? I'm so sorry. Nice to meet you," she said with a small smile.

But she quickly allowed the smile to turn into a frown at his next statement. "Well...I just assumed. You know, since Caleb..." she cut off, a few very real tears coming to her eyes. "...since my brother Caleb passed away at that ball at the Ministry," she forced herself to finish.

"Of course, I suppose I could have assumed incorrectly...I just thought.. oh, never mind," she said, waving it off with a small gesture.

"Nice to meet you..." Tyler trailed off.

Tyler's eyes widened in surprise as he thought about this. Caleb...it was Caleb Silverhawk. First off, he felt like a total idiot for not making the connection. From there, he focused on Lynx's recent behavior. She'd been certainly upset over something, though the fact that Lynx was pregnant should account for any mood swings. Deciding that he wouldn't mention that- he said instead,

"I'm very sorry for your loss." He was as sincere as possible, for his mind was still racing. Why wouldn't Lynx have told him Caleb was her cousin? And why wasn't she grieving...?

"I'm..oh! I'm sorry- would you like to come in? I'm sure Lynx is around somewhere..."

"Thank you," she said. "Caleb was a great guy."

Cat shook her head. "Oh, I don't want to bother her. She probably has tons of work to do. I was just... well, I was honestly hoping someone could tell me at least a little of what happened to him."

Now, this was something she actually really wanted to know, so it wasn't hard for her to sound convincing. "I mean, it just doesn't make sense. He worked for the Ministry, he was a good worker... so why did he get killed?"

She could feel the tears threatening to spill again and wanted to kick herself for being so weak, but then she remembered that the mudblood probably wouldn't feel the same way about expressing emotions that her family did. So she let a couple fall.

"I just want some sort of closure, and it doesn't make sense."

Now throughly feeling on the wrong foot, Tyler swallowed for a second, indicating that she should sit down. He really didn't have anything to say. It had been a senseless tragedy- one that they honestly were no closer to solving despite having Alex in Azkaban and knowing who the killer had been.

"It really doesn't make sense." He said, probably completely unhelpfully, and added, "I really am sorry. We're still investigating, but I guarantee you that at least one of those responsible is behind bars now."

Well, the man was certainly not being very helpful. Of course, he was an Auror, so what should she really expect?

But she obliged and sat down. "At least one?" she asked. "You mean, there was more than one killer?"

"Er..." That must be like, his new favorite word of the day or something! He'd have sat down next to her, but he was far too busy pacing.

"Well, I'm probably not at liberty to say." He decided that was the easiest way to put it.

"Oh...right. Well, that's understandable," Cat said with a sigh. Well, she cared who Caleb's killer was, but that wasn't what her mission was.

"Anyways. I just..I wanted to see if there was anything I could possibly find out."

She stood up, then said, "Well, it was nice meeting you...er...Taylor? Tyler? I'm sorry... I guess mine and Lynx's families don't mix a lot for whatever reason." She shrugged. "Anyways, sorry I didn't make it to the wedding and all, but congratulations for...whenever that was."

"Tyler." Tyler clarified, surprised to nod. "Of course...I'm sorry we haven't met before...or under...better circumstances."

He really was itching to just dash off the porch and look for Lynx. Why had he never heard of this before- and why hadn't she been at the wedding? He understood the pureblood bigotry thing...but Catalina didn't seem to be like that.

Cat nodded and gave him a sad smile. "I'm sorry too," she said.

Well, she figured that was enough for tonight. If she delayed leaving any longer, it would just seem suspicious...or desperate. And Cat didn't want to seem like either of those things.

"Anyways...I'll see you around I guess." With a small shrug, she stepped off the porch and disapparated.

Deciding to head out again for some fresh air, Emma took some work and one of the pregnancy books she'd found lying around in the common room and headed out on to the porch, usual blanket in hand and settled on to the porch screen.

She was glad to find that the weather was slightly warming up, so no chance of getting sick again.

Sayuri headed outside for some fresh air. Edward was with Seijiro, and she was grateful for the relief. She saw Missem and waved in greeting. "Hey," she greeted with a smile, settling down over by her. "How have you been?"

Monica apparated on the porch when she took Elena from Conner as he went to work. It was borning to be alone at home and she wanetd to get out. So she decided to check out the HQ. But when she was abotu to go insade she heard someone`s voices.

Walking to that direction she looked at Emma and Sayuri. A smile grew on her face and she put Elena down and let the girl walk on her own. She was too heavy to carry all the time. "Hey there." Monica greeted.

"I've been good, actually," she told Missem. "Tired, but good. Edward's been keeping me up like crazy lately, so he's staying with Seijiro for today."

Sayuri looked over to Monica and smiled. "Hi," she said. "Aww, is this your baby? She's adorable."

Emma gave Sayuri a sympathetic smile, "I guess Ive got all that to look forward to then."

Hearing footsteps, she turned and took in the pair approaching them. "Hey Moni, hey there Elena, she's such a big girl." Emma beamed down as little Elena walked along beside Monica. "How are you both?"

"Yeah Sayuri that`s my girl. Meet Elena. I always say she took her looks from Conner." Monica joked with a smile. She then sat down next to them. "And I`ve been wonderful Emma, thanks. What about you?"

Elena stood there silently, as she put her finger into he mouth and just kept it there for no clear reason. After a moment she took it out and looked at Sayuri and Emma. "Hewo..." she mumbled silently, sticking her finger back in.

Sayuri nodded. "Yeah, but it's wonderful at the same time."

"Hi Elena!" Sayuri grinned down at the little girl. She looked up at Monica and laughed. "Make sure you keep the people eating pants and the tomato sauce away from her, Moni..."

Monica shuddered. "Oh my Merlin, Sayuri, even thought of that scares me to hell. Don`t worry, I`m not letting those pants anywhere near my daughter..." she said and smirked lightly. Then she turned to Emma.

"Oh dear, it`s such a long story... and absolutely insane one, I might add." she laughed silently.

Elena slowly walked to Monica and sat down in her lap, snuggling close to her and wrapping her little arms around her waist. She then snuggled her face into Monica`s stomach.

"Yeah, a very long story," she agreed with Monica and laughed. "Well, I'm going to head in for a bit. I'll talk to you all later." Sayuri stood up and walked inside.
