I really like Grizlier but the transition from the clothes to the smoke is a little shoddy. I'd recommend making the smoke a little wider on (his) right side. Nematon's left arm (his left) could look more attached to his body, maybe move the spikes near it down a little? |

In general, I'm having a hard time noticing the shading on the outlines, if there is any. Outline shading is usually important to add to the three-dimensionality of the sprite. Grizlier is the best of the bunch, but if that is supposed to be smoke, it needs to look thinner, more cloud-like. (You could probably reference Altaria for that). Not very fond of Nematon in design or sprite. His face seems a little flat, and the arm/body relationships implies a strange angle. Arms could use more noticeable shading, and the angle of the feet doesn't suggest a flat surface beneath it. Privant has a strange upside-down shading on its body, which should be rounder. The tail is well shaded, but the line between the butt and tail should be closed to make it look like it is opposite the head in terms of placement on the body. Again, the feet don't imply a flat surface--it seems like Privant is walking on the tips of its claws. Giving the claws an angle in relation to the foot should suffice. |

i do use outline shading, i suppose those three are just bad examples. Nematon's sprite is pretty bad...in retrospect, i probably should have tried spriting it before trying to make a sugi of it instead of the other way around. Nematon's design itself is hard to explain without going into an agonizing amount of detail, but it's sprite has one foot in the air and it's body is in fact bending at a weird angle. i often get told that i kill my fakemon with deatil, so i guess i tried something new with him and failed. it's great to see someone who knows how to crit, i wouldn't want to expect any less from the head admin. though, Grizlier's lower half is a thick, controlled smog and Privant is hopping and its thorax shading was suggested to me by another expert. i'll make a few edits. On Nematon, I think it would look better if you ,moved his left arm up slightly, so it was more in line with his right arm. At the moment it looks like he has wonky shoulders. OH and perhaps add a few more spikes in the background on his left. I mean behind where the arm would be. They all seem to be going one way and I think this would even it out. :] |
